Jordan turned around to notice that Zac had returned. She yawned and then walked up to him casually with a very tired look on her face.

"Well, it took you long enough..." she sighed "Let's go, already!"

She was no longer tired, no, she was ready to take off and save her friend. Finally, she would have her mind clear and free of troubled thoughts about Nadia.

Saul had arrived back not too long before Zac had. "I'm all ready. Just wait for the others, if need be." He said, beginning to move out. He was still brooding internally, with the flat demeanor outside. He was beating himself down, until a thought randomly slipped out. It was not your fault was all the thought was, but it made him perk up a little. When he snapped out of his stpor, he saw the others were actually ahead of him, and began to speed up to catch up. His resolve was hardened. And with that, another zoning out began.

The group finally together they set out. The sun was approaching the horizon so they wouldn't get all that far but still going was better than waiting another night at the village. Perhaps it was just because they were actually doing something but the group's minds seemed a bit more at ease. Actually being on the way to find Nadia was much less stressful than sitting around worrying about her. As the group continued a night fog emerged from the lake obscuring the distant view of the valley they would travel through. It would take the group two to three days to reach the Silver Resistance base depending on how often they had to stop.

--------

"Is everything ready?" Nadia said to the Sandslash that had accompanied her. As she did so the layer of fog reached her position. She stood, her six tails waving in the slight breeze, on the top of the right side of the valley.

"It's all set." the Sandslash replied bluntly.

"When do you think they'll get here?" Nadia said with a bit of concern in her voice.

"Does it matter? Either way this mission won't fail, now will it?" the Sandslash said.

"No, it won't. I won't let it." Nadia said. She looked down on the shrouded valley earnestly searching the mist for signs of her friends' movements.

"You'll be here soon. I'll do whatever it takes to bring you back safely. Even if I have to put on this act." she thought.

--------

The group was walking, the sun about halfway past the horizon. They had some light conversation. Now the group took the time to inspect the items they had purchased in town. Perhaps now would be a good chance to try and get to know Kyker. Regardless of what they would do in this down time, they pressed on.

Zac watched the thick fog float across the valley. 'It's so beautiful, I would just love to become one with the fog, to just float across the ground' he said warmly, his physical appearance flickering as he thought about becoming one with the fog. 'It's funny, I really feel good being a Gastly, it almost feels natural to me than the others. I guess it's because of being so very free compared to the constraints of a physical body. I can be anywhere I please, and maybe be anyone I want' he thought.

"Yes yes yes, it's all lovely, now come on, come on, come on," snapped Kyker to Zac as she was once again forced to go at an unsatisfactory speed. She was extremely tempted to be at the rear of the group and give them all a good kick up their backsides; she hated lagging and going this slow, and despite the fact they could be running at breakneck speeds (well, apart from Saul who would probably be stomping like mad after them) they were going at what Kyker considered "snail pace". There were times when she was on the verge of telling - not threatening, nooooo, never - them she would go ahead first; however, that would, if anything, only make Kyker more impatient, as it would force her to stop and wait.

"Good thing Edmundson isn't around," she mumbled furiously under her breath, so no one else could hear. "If only he saw me going at this pace now ..." She had no need to tell them who Edmundson was; he was one of her two arch-rivals, and they had been so since they were little. Everyone (well, all the kids anyway) had known about their rivalry; the Tyrogue (Kyker), the Poochyena (Edmundson), and the Chingling (Thornton). Since then, things had obviously changed, the major change being they were now all in their final forms, thusly making them Hitmontop, Mighteyena, and Chimeco respectively. Annoyingly, all three were Level 25s and working within the Police Force, making it impossible for either one to be the more victorious one.

Still, Kyker had learnt to live with it, and being sent on this mission was good - at least she wouldn't have to face Edmundson's awful breath, or clatter her teeth at Thornton's bell sound. Nope, it was now just her and ... five Slowpokes (well, not literally, but Slowpokes in speed). She didn't know what was worse.

Jason watched Kyker, a small smile on his face. She is a most interesting character...and a good one to have on our side. I can tell, she will be most needed in the days to come. Perhaps from the fog, or from the cold...he didn't really know, but suddenly Jason shivered. For one patch of time, his skin turned ice cold...then warmed up to average again. How strange...could it possibly mean anything? Shaking his head, Jason looked deep into the fog, watching for any signs of movement. There could be anything out here...

((I have the paper thing right?))

Strange, there was quite a chill back there... I wonder if that could signify anything. The fog is just too dense, I'm glad I don't see the same way as I used to. I would never be able to make my way through this. Roran quickly turned his head to the left, and paused Stranger still, I can hear things coming from the fog. I doubt it's anything that would even try to hurt us. If it is, at least we have Kyker with us. I'm glad she is on our side, even if she is a little irritated with our speed. Roran continued to walk, but he sped up now to get back with the group.

((Spartan, I think you do.))

((Okay, I'll assume I do until I get told otherwise))

Jason continued walking, deciding that he would ignore the strange chill for the moment. Again, he looked around at the fog. Then, he looked at each of his friends; they were all strong, powerful Pokemon. With a pang, Jason thought about the Pokemon he had been changed into. Not very powerful, am I? Just some stupid Eevee, can't even use any real elemental attacks... Looking down, Jason noticed the strange piece of paper that Kyker had looped around him. His gaze hardened, and he swung his head back up. Maybe I'm strong, maybe I'm not...but I know this: my friends need me.

Zac looked at Kyker. 'You're like a constant downer huh?' he stated. The mist did seem thicker, almost forboding. 'I don't know if it's paranoia or my insane delusions, but I think this might be some kind of trap. Call me crazy or paranoid, but this doesn't feel exactly safe. It's like one of those murder mysteries were the teenagers wonder into a foggy forest' he began and disappeared into the mist, only to burst out from another part. 'And never come back alive' he roared demonically.

OOC: Spartan, yes you do have the paper

"Hmpfh, I'm trying to get you to Luiga safely and soundley," Kyker told Zac. "Unfortunately, the pace we're going at is too slow. If Ho-Oh has sent Pokemon to chase after us, we're sitting bait. Who knows what trap they'll-" She was cut short as she almost walked straight into the fog. "...oh crud." She immediately held her arms out to stop everyone, before spinning hard on her head, clearly to see whether or not she could clear the fog so they would walk through with clear vision. When she stopped, she said to them, "Right, looks like we're stuck with this fog; it looks quite thick, I doubt I'd be able to keep spinning ahead of you lot ... I think I'll be going too fast anyway. We'll have to walk in and stick together."

The group stopped right before where the fog became too dense to really see through at all. The fog was not all that uncommon around the area but the density was unusual to a native like Kyker. From within the dense fog the group could see a shadow moving, quickly. Suddenly a single Sandshrew ran out into the group's visibility like he had been scared by something. Without looking it ran right into Kyker and fell over. Quickly it got up and looked around to see the six strangers around him.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't see you all there. Whatever you do, don't go in there! It's scary!" the young Sandshrew said. He looked ready to keep running the other way but the group had circled around him as if they wished to speak with him. Off in the distance some shifting rocks and dirt could be heard but it was nothing out of the ordinary. The group figured he must have just been scared by the fog but suspicions were present.

Kyker lightly caught the Sandshrew before he could fall onto the ground, before frowning at him. "But we have to go in there, we need to get to our location." She didn't dare say they were going to Luiga; what if Ho-Oh's spies were around? Such thick fog would be a perfect cover. "Tell me though, what's in the fog?" She tried to stare the Sandshrew in the eyes, but could only see as far as his jaw. However, more pressing matters were on her mind right now; there was no other way to the Silver Resistance, they would have to go through there...

Saul narrowed his eyes looking at the fog. He was sure he saw something moving, and this Sandshrew was either connected, or a victim. Connected seemed much more likely. Saul turned to the little mouse. "I have a question. Why are you out here?" He looked at the Shrew with no expression. "Well? Is there a reason you are out here in this.... scary place?", Saul said, raising the proverbial eyebrow. In this case, cocking his head slightly to the side. The shrew was sure to understand his gesture. Now he had to figure out if this was all lies or truth.

"What's... in there?" the Sandshrew asked innocently. He looked back and forth between Kyker and Saul a few times as if wondering what to do.

"I didn't see anything, I just heard some stuff. But I couldn't see anything and the sounds were really creepy. It sounded like things shifting around and stuff." he said. As far as his story went, it seemed the natural noises of the mountain had just scared him a bit. He didn't seem like he had any reason to lie about anything but one did have to wonder what such a young pokemon was doing all by himself. At best he was ten years old, still a little child by many definitions.

The Sandshrew kept looking at the thinner fog ahead towards the village and the dense fog he had just emerged from. He seemed like he was still nervous about something. Regardless he ran past the group on the way to the village. He did call back however.

"I still wouldn't go in there, but good luck if you do!" he said from the distance. As the group looked at him their attention focused once more on the immensely thick wall of fog in front of them.

--------

Once out of sight of the group the young Sandshrew stopped where he was. There was no one around.

"It's all done. I did my part." he called out. From the shadows the battle scarred Sandslash stepped out. He seemed as serious as ever.

"Good." was all he said.

"So now they'll be on guard. Are you sure that's what you wanted?" the Sandshrew asked.

"It's all the master's plan. I wouldn't question it. Now they'll be on guard but they won't be able to do anything about the attack. At least not without her help." the Sandslash said.

"I guess that's how it works. Anyway, I'm going home now dad." the Sandshrew said.

"Good work, son." the Sandslash answered.

Zac looked at the Sandshrtew run off. 'He was cute and all, but I still don't trust him. I've seen enough movies and read enough bad fanfics to know that a coincidence like that possesses too many circumstances to actually make it a coincidence. Course, if there is anything around here that's sppoky, I'm none too scared. I am practically the scariest thing around here anyways' he boasted and laughed, his form flickering in witht he fog.

"This is the only way to get to our destination? The fog?" Roran walked around some and stopped. "We'll have to risk it, unless you know of another path Kyker." I would like to avoid a fight, but it may not avoidable. That Sandshrew seemed legit, but how can we know? He started to pace around as he looked, well tried, through the dense fog. "I just wished we knew what we were walking into. So many stories have parts like them in them. Zac, we don't know whats lurking and plotting in that fog. FOr all we know, the Three Dogs may be in there. Right now, I'm more scared that we may meet them then you..."

Jason shook his head, and looked around. No matter which way we go, there's bound to be fog. To me, it just seems obvious. Jason took a deep breath. "Guys," he said, a little tentatively at first, "I think we should just keep going straight. I mean...there's what, six of us? I'm pretty confident that anything we face, we can handle...R-right?" Jason shook his head, trying to clear it. I can't sound stupid...

Zac grinned as he floated around Jason slowly. 'Oh yeah sure, six on one always worked before hasn't it? Just like taking on Whitney's Miltank with an all fire pokemon team at level eight, pure genius don't you think?' he said sarcastically. 'Besides, Roran is right in a regard. The legendary dogs might be waiting for us, though we would know if they were here. Suicune embodies the north wind, there would be no fog. Raikou's every step sound like the crashings of thunder. Entei's roar is that of an erupting volvano, face it, it would be impossible for them to ambush us unless they stayed perfectly still, something they can't do because they're overflowing with energy, that's why they always race across the countryside like goons. Though I am a little offended Roran, there's a lot of things I can do that the dogs can't in horror. You're just afraid of their power' he explained.

"Excuse me for being cautious. I didn't mean to insult you, but who knows what could be lurking in there? I admit I'm a little paranoid with the Three Dogs, but am I supposed to be completely calm? I think not. And even if they aren't in there, if any of Ho-oh's henchmen are we are still in trouble. I don't think he would send some of his weaker minions to catch us, considering that tale Jirachi told us." Roran looked away from the group. "What can we do? The fogs our only path we can take, no use in waiting..."

[spoiler=ooc, please read]

Okay so here's something I noticed that I think will make the RP a bit more enjoyable for all of us. You don't have to wait for me to actually start doing something, like walking into the fog. You guys don't have to wait for me to get you guys going on that. Now of course the reactions of what happens is up to me. Anyway, I feel that if you guys actually start doing things in your post instead of just talking and thinking and waiting for me we'll all like this a bit more. Now then, on with the RP.

IC:

Though there were several doubts and suspicions the group couldn't just hang at the edge of the fog forever. They had to keep going so on they pressed. As they entered visibility was reduced to almost non-existent. One member of the group could hardly see another only two feet away from him, or her. It did have a eery vibe to it which might have accounted for the Sandshrew's reaction to it.

As they entered they heard slightly more shifting on the edges of the valley than before. Under normal circumstances it wouldn't have meant much but the group was on edge. Regardless they continued through the fog covered valley. As they continued they thought something was up. Something seemed odd, they couldn't say exactly what but something was odd. Then they saw it. All of the fog suddenly turned orange. Any pokemon would notice all at once that they were surrounded by stun spore. There had obviously been a trap set. The group had few options to get out and little time to do it in.

Jason almost gasped as he looked around at all the spores around the group. We can't breathe any of this in...we'll get knocked out. I've gotta figure out something to do. As Jason's paws tapped nervously on the ground, he had an idea. I can feel the small rocks on the ground...I wonder......is it possible that something like that might actually work? Well...I might as well find out. Poising himself, Jason lashed out, striking the ground beneath his feet. He kicked up gravel, dirt, and sand, and flung it into the spores that surrounded the group.

Saul's mind was moving quickly. "Zac, Get out of here so at least one of us does! RORAN! Teleport us!" He snapped at the Gastly and Abra. He continued with speech to Jason this time. "Jason, use Sand Attack, hitting as much Stun Spore Away as possible until we warp!" Saul tried shooting a Tri Attack to clear the Area, but it did not work all too well. All they had to work on was Roran's teleport. If time ran out, at least Zac should be getting out quick enough for them to have at least one able to get help. Saul crossed his theoretical fingers and hoped, feeling the spore.

Jason nodded to Saul, holding his breath. "Already am," he said as his back feet continued kicking away, throwing sand and dirt up, and mixing with the spores. I sure hope this works. If not, who knows what's going to happen to us? I mean...it's not like there's anyone to save us. We're the chosen ones; we can't be saved by some other chosen ones, chosen to save the chosen ones. That just sounds ridiculous. Jason sneezed, his nose having been itched by the sand and dirt he had thrown. Then, he gritted his teeth, trying to resist the urge to take a deep breath.

Zac was panicking and holding his breathe to stop the spores, but his mind snappped to attention as he heard Saul's words. 'I'll get back up if I can and get a clear teleport site' he said as his misty form zipped through the fog. He didn't worry about collisions as he moved effortlessly through the now clear fog. 'Okay, I think maybe in the fog might be a safer teleport site. They'd expect us to leave it, but maybe....Saul's a Porygon, he might have sensitive enough eyes to see through the fog at our assailants' he thought as he stopped in a tree.

"Urgh!" Kyker immediately covered her nose and mouth, so as to reduce the chance of the stun spore from reaching her nostrils. Considering how the stun spore had lightened the fog slightly, she immediately waved at them and pointed ahead, before she suddenly pushed herself into a dizzying spin. Just the force of it, and the resultant wind, was enough to push the stun spore out of the way temporarily - long enough so she could create a safer path through the fog. As much as she didn't want to leave the others behind, what could she do?

Once Kyker had managed to beat the fog, she stopped spinning; for a moment, everything seemed fine, except for a slight headache. Realising she must have breathed in a tiny amount of stun spore, she immediately leaned against a rather old oak tree, furiously breathing and exhaling fresh air, in hopes she could quickly get over this woozy headache, and return to help the trapped group which she had so consciously abandoned, the thought of them in trouble was stinging slightly.
