Okay so, I am going to point out some problems and suggestions for the new theme used by YCM. (I have nothing against the new theme, but I think it could do with a lot of upgrading).

 

1. Banner; I think as well as many members on this site that the banner / title / logo or whatever you want to call it is a bit "dated". And I think it needs a serious re-do. My suggestion for this is maybe have a new logo made or hold a contest so members could make logo's and you would have a wide selection to choose from or maybe let the site decide from the entries. And maybe as a bonus all entrants would get a reward, since most people are looking for new awards to be added to the awards system.

 

 

2. Profile / Awards; Just a simple code edit or two. On the profile page, it no longer has a link to the awards a user has earned as it did in the last theme. It should be easy to fix, just deactivate / activate the plugin. And I think that at the top or bottom of the page, you should link to this (http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/myawards.php) so people can see the available awards and the requirements for that award ( and if the award is no longer available go to awards in admin cp, then edit the description and put "finished" after the description). An example of this can be found at www.mybbcentral.com, as you can see, the bottom of the page their is a link to the awards.

 

 

3. Forum Images; on.gif , off.gif and offlock.gif

These images look like they were made in 2 minutes... they look very choppy and could be so much better, we need to get better images to replace these ones, although, they aren't that important, just a thought.

 

 

Thats all I see for now but if I notice anything else I will update this post.

To be honest i don't care if nobody reads it as long as someone who can fill out these suggestions (YCMaker & Falling Pizza) and I hope they can consider these suggestion and do something about them as soon as they see possible.

I can't speak for YCMMaker, but I'd say this is a completely pointless suggestion unless you're willing to put up the money to have someone do the improvements.

 

If not this should be locked because complaining about making a better theme without the willingness or ability to supply the funds for the action to go underway makes this completely stupid.

 

EDIT: And if you DID have the funds you need, this isn't something you would be making a damn democracy call on, you'd PM YCMMaker.

I would happily supply funds, because either a) they will be very cheap funds or b) the project wont even need funding, as I suggested it was a community based competition.

This is only a suggestion and I merely asked the administrators on this forum to take these thoughts into account and consider some possibilities for the theme. and add some things that should be in this theme but were accidentally left out.

Do I think it will actually happen? No.

 

Actually, in a small branch MyBB site cedar99 made and made me the Seconary Admin, I was able to change the stars. The banner was also able, but I don't think having everyone choose what they like was a bit...impossible. But you know, YCM is in a different plane than other MyBB sites. YCMaker could possibly do it. Possibly.

 

If MyBBCentral has it, then we could definately make awards.
