Deck Making.

Recommended Posts

You need to pick a theme, first. What you do want to focus on? The top decks today include Zombies, Blackwings, Lightsworns, and Gladiator Beasts. Lightsworns, however, are not as effective this format due the limiting of Necro Gardna, Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner, and Charge of the Light Brigade, as well as Semi-Limiting Honest. Mezuki and Burial from a Different Dimension were limited as well, further weakening Zombie decks. Blackwings or Gladiator Beasts would probably work best if you want to use a Top Tier deck.

However, most of these top decks are expensive when it comes to buying cards. Cards like Plaguespreader Zombie, Mezuki, Judgment Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, and many of the Synchros are very expensive. A single JD is $60 +. So unless you have serious money to burn, I'd go with a cheaper deck.

Cheaper but effective decks include Monarchs (any variant), Hopeless Dragons, Gadgets, Rescue Cat Synchro, and others.

But to start off, I'd buy 3 Copies of the Structure Deck Machina Mayhem. It's the most recent structure deck and you can make a decent 40-card deck from it and a few extra staples like Heavy Storm and Mystical Space Typhoon.

Or you could look at the link, pick a deck type you like, then someone could make a deck list for you. Make sure to look at more than just the A-C decks.

Here are some tips. Hope they help. [i only use cards I got from booster packs and they work]

1) Try to keep 50% of your cards monsters and 50% of your monsters Spells/Traps.

2) Try to keep a MAX of 5 Monsters that are Level 5+ in your deck. You can use a deck with level 4- I'm just saying don't go above 5 5+.

3) Don't use cards that requre an exact situation or too many of exact cards. It will get hard to plsy those cards EX: Have a deck full of the best Warrior Helping Spells and Traps but only 1 or 2 warrior won't be good.

4) Sometimes add something your opponent wont expect, Like my Dragon deck has about 4 Non dragon-type monsters.

5) Make sure you know what acrds are Over Used, like Scrap Iron Scare Crow, they are most likely going to be VERY good cards you may want in your deck, or cards you need to learn how to counter.

6) Have fun, no point in playing without having fun.

[some of my tips may not be very usefull] Sorry about those :( ]

Depends on what deck you're running.

2) Try to keep a MAX of 5 Monsters that are Level 5+ in your deck. You can use a deck with level 4- I'm just saying don't go above 5 5+.

Again' date=' it depends on what deck you're running.[/b']

3) Don't use cards that requre an exact situation or too many of exact cards. It will get hard to plsy those cards EX: Have a deck full of the best Warrior Helping Spells and Traps but only 1 or 2 warrior won't be good.

Nothing wrong with that tip.

4) Sometimes add something your opponent wont expect, Like my Dragon deck has about 4 Non dragon-type monsters.

Most decks aren't purely one type of monster, even in a "Dragon deck".

5) Make sure you know what acrds are Over Used, like Scrap Iron Scare Crow, they are most likely going to be VERY good cards you may want in your deck, or cards you need to learn how to counter.

Also a good tip. Except that Scrap Iron Scarecrow isn't good.

6) Have fun, no point in playing without having fun.

True. And having a good deck and openly taking advice to improve will make it easier to win, further raising the fun you get by dueling.
