The trip down memory lane was nice to see and made the Mist's past more clear, but why the hell was a younger Kaori there, you didn't explain it.

Unless that's done next chapter, in which case I retract my one gripe, though the ending doesn't make me think we'll get one unless Kaori has an inner monologue.

I guess it's for the same reason you fought your Kekkeigenkai when you got the one sword design not fit for what swords were meant to do. (seriously, it has a thin blade that's easily snapped, and it's only good for stabbing things, rather than having a hack-n-slash.)
