Akumakagemaru Posted March 15, 2010 Report Share Posted March 15, 2010 This is a naruto fanfic inspired by The Count of Monte Christo, which I just saw again today, but with modifications. Currently only the Summary, I'll post the first chapter sometime wthin a couple days. [spoiler=Summary]"He betrayed me...he left me to die in this disgusting pit, with people just as innocent as I am...but now I'm free, I'm wiser, stronger, richer...smarter. I will have my vengeance...I will destroy everything that he holds dear, what little that is...and he'll help me do it. Vengeance will be sweet." [spoiler=Chapter 1: A Friend Today...]Konoha. A relatively peaceful village, since the end of the last war. Well, except in one case... "Shut up, Sasuke! I got there first, and you know it!" Hiruzen Sarutobi, Thid Hokage of the vilage of Konohaagakure, sighed in remorse. 'So much for a little peace...why couldn't Kakashi have let the mission drag on a little longer? We're still trying to recover from Naruto's "going away present" he left for us...' As he thought this, he couldn't restrain the eye twitch that resulted from remember that all of his underclothes - including what he wore at the moment - were dyed a bright pink. One would think that after a week, either the Hokage would've been able to purchase new underclothes or clean his old ones, but Naruto was a master of pranks...a cunning one, shocking as that was. He had apparently concocted a particularly long-lasting dye, and used on nearly every set of underclothes in Konoha, men's and women's alike. The only person he didn't know if Naruto had managed to prank was Danzo, though he could hardly verify that either way, and neither would he want to try. Even the ANBU had been pranked, much to their chagrine. As aggravating as Naruto was - and as much as he had wanted to strangle him this past week - he was still nearly a grandson to Sarutobi, if an exceedingly troublesome one. He looked up at the sound of a door opening, and realized Team 7 had arrived faster than he thought. In the lead, as was expected, was Naruto Uzumaki, Genin, Jinchuuriki, and prankster extraordinaire. Behind him and to his left, with a small scowl growing with every step, was Sasuke Uchiha, last of his clan - in Konoha at least - and the pampered prince of the village, much to Sarutobi's annoyance. 'Nothing good will come of letting him do whatever he wants without consequence, nothing at all...ignorant fools on the council...' To Sasuke's right was the last Genin of the team, Sakura Haruno, a kunoichi without much practical skill, mainly book smarts, and not much else, to her misfortune. Although the weak link in the team - at first glance, anyways - she had no problem whatsoever shouting at Naruto at the top of her lungs, clearly frustrated not because of any actual investment in the arguement, but because Sasuke disagreed with Naruto. Behind all of them was the leader of the team, the Jounin Sensei, Kakashi Hatake, also know as Sharingan no Kakashi because of the Sharingan eye hidden behind his lopsided headband. And as much a trademark as the Sharingan eye was the Icha Icha Paradise book he always carreid with him, and which he currently had his nose buried in, seemingly ignoring the Sarutobi knew he had his work cut out keeping them from killing each other before their next mission. Not much, but tell me what you think, please? Will follow the same overall design of monte Christo, but will diverge a lot once it stars. Also, suggstions for a location are appreciated. EDIT: Chapter 1 is up. Also not much, unfortunately, but I wasn't able to get to my computer for most of today to write more as I had planned.
