Tokyo Duel
The darkness of the night sky was quickly approaching. Nine would move quickly. He had never been caught before, now was not the time. This time, he had his eyes on the fortune of the Kay'st family. They were one of the wealthiest families in this world. It wouldn't be easy, but that didn't bother Nine. He moved quickly over the fence, his slim body allowing him to jump up and climb over the wall. He was in. "Good..." Nine thought. He was about to climb up the wall when he heard the sound of barking of some sort. "That...would be the sign for me to hurry the hell up..." he quietly said. Nine skillfully climbed up the wall, then he saw a bright light radiating through the room above him. He quickly changed direction. Who in the right mind builds a house where you can climb up it with ease? It was as if they wanted their money to be stolen. He climbed in through the window, quietly putting his nimble feet to the floor. He crept through the room, and through the hallways, when he felt a stabbing pain through his back, with crimson red blood spilling onto the floor. "You must be Nine," the voice said. "That I am," Nine said. "Since you know that, you must know that I don't arm myself with weapons.""Correct, which is why I took the liberaty of borrowing this, from an old friend.""Well...Mr. Kay'st. Theres a good reason why I don't wield weapons." Nine said, he quickly grabbed the knife from his body, and put a little slash on the arm of the father. Despite being a minor cut, the father withered in pain, groaning. "I don't kill," Nine said, hurrying away. "I steal." ~~~MEANWHILE~~~ "Argh...what a day." Daemon said, walking through a hall. It was a brutal training session and Daemon was phsyically exhausted. Turning a corner, Daemon accidently ran into one of his many superiors. "Sorry," he said. "It won't happen again, sir.""Don't sweat it Daemon. We both know your ahead of many of us in skill. Despite being lower in rank, we think of you as our superior," Reggie said, one of Daemon's friends."Because of me...we lost that war. I'd rather not talk about that, okay.," Daemon said, rather angered but sad at the same time."Alright, alright." Reggie said, trying to calm Daemon down. "Lets go over to your place for some entertainment. I hear you got some new 'toys'.""If by toys, you mean new blades, then yes. I've been waiting on these for awhile. I gotta say, they're my prized possessions now."
Enrise
--In truth, I was supposed to start. But I'll let you have the shot ;3 In the dark room with brightly lit candles, 5 men sit around in a circle, each with a ring on their right hand, on different fingers. They all discussed about Sintrionus, and his escape, and how they should all deal with it."It's impossible for one of us to go after him, even if we may know of the location of the Relics!" shouted Trasitan Ilos, who bore the ring on his thumb. Trasitan was more of a down to earth kind of guy, but thought of sometimes what was right for the situation, in a different manner.Xilus Tritus remained silent. He was the youngest, while the others were old, and somewhat weak. Surely they never thought of him who could search for the relics."Calm down Trasitan. We can always provide enough support for who will go. Input on this Uliso Grans?" calmly sighed Lugrif Forno, the one who bore the ring on the ring finger. Uliso Grans, shook his head.Uliso bore the ring on his little finger. "I can say however, that the youngest usually has more strength, as we are all old. I think Xilus is liable to go, as he is the youngest, thus more strength to him." remarked Uliso."True he has more muscle and strength than us, but does he really have more intelligence and wisdom than the rest of us?" questioned the bearer of the ring of the index finger, Monilu Grotcus.Xilus coughed slightly, and remarked. "Intelligence and wisdom are two different things. Intelligence can be shared, but wisdom cannot. Intelligence can be learned from a mere book if possible, while wisdom is an experience that cannot be obtained from another person, lest you are that person."Monilu laughed eagerly. "Then it's settled no? I do think that Xilus-boy can do the job. Do you all not agree?" All of them agreed, except for Xilus, for he remained quiet. They all held out their hands, and chanted, "In the name of Xanth, for we, the Hand of Xanth, the Five under the One, all agree, that Xilus Tritus XIII will seek out the relics, and banish the Sintrionus forever." Shadow Zero
Everything is always the same, no matter where I go. These pathetic humans, scrambling around to make their own little 'existence', It's times like this that I am sickened to share the same blood of the human race as they do. Ranmyaku Shadou was in a quiet darkened corner using a spell to illuminate the pages of the book he was reading, with a second spell over it so that only he would be able to see the light and anything it illuminated. He had been trying to concentrate for the past hour and was being met with limited success due to the large amount of noise that was constantly being made. In the last ten minutes, a bunch of scantily clad women had walked in through a back way and started causing a commotion among the other men just by being there. Unable to stand it anymore, Ranmyaku got up and started walking towards the door, tucking away the book in a larger then normal inside pocket that was one of many that lined the inside of his long coat that was trimmed with fiery patterns on the bottom hem and around the sleeves. He had almost reached the door when a particularly drunk man barred his way and said "Hey, where are you going? Don't you want to join in the festivities?" He motioned over to where the scantily clad women were being surrounded by some of the bolder men, but Ranmyaku didn't even look in the direction that was being indicated. "People like you disgust me." He said before punching the man in the face and hearing a satisfying crunch as the drunkards nose broke. He was careful not to break it in the way that could jam the bone into someones brain and kill them, but he made sure that at the least the drunkard was knocked unconscious. As he continued to the door, he smirked in satisfaction as he saw the man lying there on the ground and could here him breathing, knowing that he had accomplished exactly what he was aiming for. As he walked out of the bar, he cast his usual spell of concealment that would make him seem no more extraordinary then your normal passerby and proceeded to head towards the edge of the town. Perhaps I'll have some better luck looking over this newest find of mine if I am somewhere where there are no other people present.
Tokyo Duel
Nine jumped out of the house, somehow landing on his feet. He then proceeded to use the the night to his advantage, hiding himself within. He grabbed a medical kit out of his bag, and began stitching up his wound, to the best of his ability. Despite the immense pain, Nine endured...somehow. He then ran off, running into someone, falling down. "I'm terribly sorry, sir. You okay?" he asked the stranger. At that moment, two soldiers turned the corner, talking to one another. Daemon stopped. "Nine!" he shouted, running over to Nine. "Sorry, I gotta go. Can't be getting caught now, now can I?" Nine quickly got up and ran off. OoC: Sorry about starting before ya, got ahead of myself. Anyways, Nine ran into Ranmyaku.
Shadow Zero
Ranmyaku had already been highly irritated by the fact that he had been having to deal with drunkards, and now he was having to deal with idiots that couldn't even be bothered to look where they were going? To make things even worse, there were guards showing up right after he had left the overly loud tavern where he had been trying to do some reading. Those guards are showing up immediately after I left the tavern as well. The period of time is to small be a coincidence. There must have been someone tracking me. Ranmyaku was unsure if his conclusions were sound, but he did not have the luxury of taking chances in his profession. They didn't seem to be showing interest in him at the moment, and he wanted it kept that way. As the guards and Daemon went to run past him, he silently formed the words with his mouth that would invoke a deep and dreamless sleep. He put just enough power behind it to make sure that they would not wake up before daybreak, and then used another spell to increase his speed. He then went running after nine and used a third spell that would allow him to slide along the ground so that he would not have to become tired out just to catch up to the man, and easily caught up to him, turning as he passed so that he was facing Nine as he slid to a stop, placing a hand on his chest and pushing him backwards before he had a chance to realize that there was someone there and stop. "And just who might you be? Are you someone that was hired to track me or something?" ooc: Is it night right now? :?
Wuu.
Saggat was on his evening patrol in some of the alleyways of the town and came across a sloppy man, lying on his back Darnit, these drunkards are found more and more these days, this one even broke his nose... he spoke to himself, he got up from crouching and walked further, leaving the man to his sleep, or whatever he was doing. As he walked onto one of the main roads, he could see a grimmy image of a somewhat mysterious man walking alone in the darkness A drunkard with a broken nose, a dark night, and one man walking trough the streets this time of the day often go together with crime He thought, and followed the man when he could, silently. Enrise
ooc: Is it night right now? :? --Yeah. It is. Returning to his room' date=' Xilus looked outside of the window, hearing the birds slightly chirp in the silent night. He looked at the ring that he bore on the middle finger. At first his thoughts were to get ready for bed, but he realized that there was a map of ancient mystical items left by the great Xanth, and that the only ones who knew their location were the Five.Walking over to his desk, he pulled out different books that he contained in a nearby bookshelf, and turned them all to certain pages. He grabbed some papers nearby and a quill, and began writing down everything he muttered to himself."[i']Kuiltion Mountains, rocks. Uliktrion Mountains, winds. Sea of Latious, waters. Ferasous, city of bonfires, flames. Great Forest of Avulous, trees, need sun. Opposite of the sun, the moon. Relic of the Skull..."Xilus stopped for a second, and looked to his left. A skull that was encased in glass tenfold and possibly more, surrounded by a barrier of High Powers of only someone of the Five or someone of equal magic ability could break. It was safe.He went back to the papers and books, and thought about something. "I've already unraveled most of the Relics locations. But, the problem is the final one. There is no actual said location. It's not written anywhere, nor is it spoken about. I guess I'll figure that part out when the time comes..." Infinitus
Edwin was in his personal forge, connected to his house, which was also his shop. The forge contained a anvil, a very large furnace, several different swords, maces, axes, shields, and armor aligned along the walls, hung upon wooden hangs, attached to the gray stone wall. The floor seemed like one large block of stone, which was gray in color. Edwin's hair was drenched with sweat, tangled and matted from his work today. He was finishing up a personal order, with his sleeves rolled up, so his arms would not be roasting in the hot forge. His metal, blacksmith's hammer was clanging on a piece of hot metal, and was grasped tight in the grip of Edwin's gloved right hand. Edwin slammed his hammer on the hot metal one last time, before Edwin wiped his forehead of his sweat, ineffectively of course, using his forearm. Edwin dropped his hammer on the floor, making a echoing clang as it landed next to his anvil, and he picked the hot sword that he had been forging by it's leather handle, and carefully dipped it into a trough of cold water, cooling the metal. Edwin brought the excellently forged sword out of the cold water, revealing a 4 foot long sword, forged for a nobleman, and was sure to make it perfect for a man of his customer's social stature. Edwin stared at his brilliant work as the night sky lay out his forge building window, and was pleased with his work.
Tokyo Duel
Daemon and his friend Reggie began feeling sleepy. "Ni...ne..." Daemon said, before collapsing asleep. Nine stopped and turned around. "Who...who the hell are you?" he said. "Did...did you just put Daemon to sleep? AND Reggie?" Nine was faithful. Nine was loyal. Nine wasn't smart. He didn't believe in magic except that of Xanth's. Nine was, for probably the first time in his life, planess.
Shadow Zero
"I believe that I'll be the one asking the questions here." Ranmyaku raised his arm and shoved Nine into the ground, then reached into his long coat and grasped the hilt of the sword that he kept on the inside of it. He unsheathed it and pointed it at Nine who was now on the ground. Due to the spell that he currently had in place, it would have looked as though he had reached down his shirt and suddenly pulled out a four foot long blade attached to a one and a half foot hilt from inside of his shirt. This sword was, in fact, the very same one that he was to have received as his fifteenth birthday present. It was a constant reminder of all that he had once had, and then lost to the hands of another. "Now, who the hell are you, and why is it that in the very same moment I am leaving, you show up? Are you tracking me? Were you thinking to try and steal something? Speak quickly, before I decide to make it so that you cannot speak at all." Ranmyaku had taken a step forward to place the point of his sword closer to Nine's throat, making it so that all he would need to do is lean forward and down to permanently silence him. Tokyo Duel
"Surely you woulnd't kill me. At least not yet anyways," Nine began. "I'm Nine, one of the most wanted criminals in this world, not to brag." He pointed the sword away from this throat, then stood up. "Sorry, I don't like sharp objects. Not trying to be rude, but they're rather frightening. Besides..." At that moment, in a seconds flash, Nine grabbed the sword and pointed it at this stranger's throat, despite the close distance between the two of them. He then handed the blade back to the starnger and darted around a corner, actually sprinting this time.
Shadow Zero
"Hmph, moron. This just might actually be fun for a change." Ranmyaku stepped forward, releasing the spell that disguised him and revealing him for who he really was. "Time to kick it up a notch." Ranmyaku stepped forward, but seemed to suddenly appear 20 feet away from his starting place. "I always liked that spell. Easy to use, and it can allow me to travel quite a ways without to much effort." Ranmyaku casually strolled after Nine, each step taking him 20 feet. He then suddenly breaks out into a run, going four times the distance for each step as a result. This is one of my best spells. I can control it so as to get me to a specifi8c spot each time, or just let it run normally and take me a pre-specified distance depending on how fast I move, it's the ultimate spell for a quick escape, or easily catching up to someone like that prick. Ranmyaku takes one more step forward and then stops, releasing hsi movement spell and turning around to ram his fist into Nine. That last teleportation had taken him directly in front of the man, and he grinned in a satisfied fashion as he saw the look of surprise in Nine's eyes as he suddenly had the wind knocked out of him and came to a sudden stop as a result of running staright into Ranmyakus fist. "You didn't even allow me to introduce myself worm, but there's really no need to. Surely you can see now that I am the one that they refer to only as 'Shadow'. As for you, you made the very big mistake of pissing me off." Shadow raises the hand that is not grasping onto his sword and aims it in front of him, magical energies gathering around it as he started thinking of just what spell would fit the current situation and the man that he was finding himself to be having to deal with. ooc: Is this thread already dying or something? :? Enrise
--Unless being sick in a literal manner counts, then maybe. Yes, I am still sick. Despite having as much information as he could gather, there were still some pieces missing. There were many folk lores about each Relics that he had not heard of, some were true, some were false. He attempted to rule out each lore through carefully planned thinking and scratching out possibilities on piece of paper. It was impossible. He slumped back into his chair and groaned."Grah! Why can't I figure this out? Trying so hard to just rule each possibility is practically impossible. Even with carefully planned thinking and other ways." Xilus got up from the chair, and walked over to the bed. "This is madness..." He slammed himself onto the bed and slowly began drifting to a deep sleep. Tokyo Duel
Right when the Ranmyaku caught up to Nine, Nine jumped up onto a near by tree branch and began vanished after jumping off into a whole connection of trees: a forest. "That's why I'm Nine, and your not," Nine thought, not looking back. Nine had never been caught, but who was that guy? He made it look easy. No matter...finding Nine in the forest was like looking for a dollar in the ocean: it was impossable. The forest was his main escape. Now walking, Nine sat behind a tree, and feel asleep. To be absolutely safe, he grabbed a sharp rock, and cut slashes across random trees, facing everywhere but where he was. He then climbed up to almost the top, and aloud himself to fall into a deep slumber, the night taking it's tole. Daemon and Reggie were still sleeping, unable to wake up. Shadow Zero
ooc: you really need to stop godmodding like that Destined, unless you want this thread to be locked. Now this time actually take a hit dammit! Ranmyaku was annoyed that Nine had somehow escaped him again. No matter, this time he would catch him for sure. Ranmyaku releases the spell that changed how he looked so as to avoid unwanted attention and cast a few stealth spells on himself. One to make him invisible, one to make it so that he didn't make any noise, and one to erase his presence completely. It was a bit of an effort for him to use all three spells at once, but only a small one. He then walked into the woods a little ways and ran up the nearest tree. Once he felt he was far enough above the ground, he started hopping from one tree branch to another, covering distance more quickly and being able to see around him more readily then if he had been on the ground. After several minutes of searching he found Nine again, this time asleep. Jumping from the tree branch that he was on, he slams his foot into the side of Nines face, sending him flying from the tree branch before using a short range teleportation spell to get himself to just the othe4r side and above of Nine, delivering a downward back kick that would slam him into the various tree branches on his way to the ground below. You really think that you could escape from me? There's a reason why they call me Shadow, you ignorant fool. ooc: I swear, if Destined godmods in response to this post, I am leaving the RP. Tokyo Duel
OoC: I'm not trying to Godmod, but Nine trys to avoid confrontations. Sorry...also...that's kinda messed that I can't see, hear or do anything about you. I'm not saying your God Modding, because I have a bad idea of what it details, but...idk. Also, how in the hell would you know where to find Nine? It's still night, I think, and he's wearing all black... IC: Nine fell, waking him up. "What the...?" Was...Was I found?" he thought. He then smashed into the ground, his mask almost ripped off. "My...my mask...". "SHOW YOURSELF. I will kill you," Nine began laughing hysterically. He had never gotten mad before; he was normally calm...relaxed. This was anger? This was rage? "I can deal with you wanting to fight. I can deal with you kicking me in the face. But...the mask will stay on, at all times." Nine ripped off part of a branch, a very sharp one. Suddenly, he stopped, and fell to his knees. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry mother...father...Daemon..." Nine was bawling his eyes out. What was going on? He didn't quite understand. No one should know that he was some how had a connection between Daemon...no one. Infinitus
Edwin was sweating like a fountain. He'd finished quite a few orders he had been working on for the past couple days, and finally being done gave him a great sense of accomplishment. Before heading to sleep, he remained in his forge, staring at the fire that burned in his forge, and thought about his life. He remembered how much he yearned to cross the lands, searching far and wide for treasures. Perhaps, he could discover the true strength, the power that is inside. However, Edwin was beyond childish fairy tales, and decided that this life was best. He picked up a bucket of water he had filled earlier that afternoon, and through the water on the burning fire in his forge for the night. He dropped the bucket right in front of the forge, and decided to clean up the forge tomorrow, which happened to be the day he was always closed during the week, to catch up on orders. This week, fortunately, he could relax. Maybe get his groceries from the market, or take a walk around the square. However, the first thing on his mind now, was to get a good night's sleep. He took off his gloves, and left them on the anvil. He walked out the doorway to his counter where customers came in, and took a left into another doorway that led to his house, and walked down the hallway. He entered the third door on the left, and plomped on the bed that lay before him. He closed his eyes, and he slipped away.
Enrise
Suddenly waking up from his sudden sleep, Xilus got up, and whispered. "I think I would require some help."He rushed to his desk, and grabbed several sheets of paper, and grabbed a quill. He dipped in ink, and began writing at a fast pace. They each wrote the same thing. To whom it may concern,You have been chosen, by I, one of the Five under the One, Hand of Xanth council member Xilus Tritus XIII, to help me search for the ancient Relics of Xanth. As you may have heard of, Sintrionus has escaped from the Realm of the Verscilves, Verscilion. However, I have found the final way to forever banish him to Verscilion, or completely erase him from existence. This however, is not a simple task. This is of utmost importance, of which cannot be replaced. While you travel with me, expect many rogue attacks and maybe even, if sudden and possible, a face to face occurrence with Sintrionus.Your cooperation to help me will be written down through history. Surely, as you know, by whether experience or by pure common sense, you know that Sintrionus must be banished for all eternity. If you so accept, please come, and wait in front of the door to the castle.Xilus Tritus XIII He rolled up the papers and sealed them with a spell, and with wax and his ring finger, for enough sufficient proof that he was in fact, the sender. The ring was normally proof enough. He took the scrolls, and went to the barracks next to the castle. He stormed in, and asked in high tone, "Five messengers. I need them now."They all were silent. Five soldiers jotted up, and walked towards him. They all asked quietly, "Is something wrong, sir?" They were sorta afraid to talk to him in person, especially if he was in high tone."No, I just need you five, to send these people." Xilus whispered the names into their ears, each having a different person. "Now go! Make haste!" --Yeah, five people. But, one is a thief, and can't really send things to thieves. So one will be just like, omitted, in a sense.

What I want to know is, how would your character, a high noblemen, know of a simple commoner such as my character? :/ Edwin had been awake for a while know, and his body is used to waking up at dawn. He sat in the dining area of his house, which he hoped to renovate a little, thought of what he could do today. He went through the lists of things he wanted to get accomplished, and decided that now would be as good of a time as any other to get more ore and materials for his work. He needed a little more leather for handles of weapons, and decided to head out to the square to buy more, as well as some more iron. He swiftly grabbed his bag which contained a bag of coins, and decided to head outward into the city.
Shadow Zero
ooc: I suppose that I should have mentioned something about a tracer spell that was placed upon him during the first encounter? Ranmyaku allowed the three spells he was using to disperse. Using them was more trouble then he liked, and consumed to much energy to quickly when all three were used at once on a continuing basis. He walked towards Nine, following the signal from the tracer spell that he had placed upon him during their first encounter. When he got within hearing distance, he was also able to see Nine. To his surprise, he found that Nine was crying his eyes out, and felt a slight twinge of guilt thinking that perhaps he was the one who caused this to happen. 'Sigh' I suppose that no matter how much I try to make myself a completely uncaring mercenary of sorts, I just can't completely suppress who I once was. I'm not about to let anyone fund out anything about that, though. Ranmyaku raised his hand and cast a simple Fireball spell to knock the stick out of Nines hands as he walked in front of him and sat down on the ground. "And just what are you crying over? You think you've got it bad? Seriously, none of this would've happened if you'd bothered to watch where you were going." Ranmyaku sat there looking at nine, using no spells except for the tracer one that he had placed on him. I wonder why I'm deciding to show what I really look like to this guy? Meh, probably I decided to out of hopes for inspiring fear in him. if that is, he's ever even heard of me.
Tokyo Duel
Nine stopped weeping. "Listen. You never saw me. You never heard me. In fact, as far as your concerned, I don't exist. What I'm about to tell you...tell no one. One of the soldiers you put to sleep was Daemon Reign. In truth, I'm related to him. Why should you care? Me being related to him is only a problem: he's on the right side of the law; I'm on the opposite. I gotta go. I have a feeling something is coming. The only thing is I'm not sure what," Nine said. Shadow Zero
"Hold it you. You're right, I really don't care that much about your trouble. You know why? Because you don't have it anywhere near as bad as you think." Ranmyaku suddenly got up and was on the other side of Nine. "You at least have something left. I however, lost everything. You really think I would care for your troubles, when they are a mere pittance to what myself and others like me have suffered through, not so." Ranmyaku then used a teleportation spell to disappear to a far off location, using another spell for Nine to be able to hear him as he said "I highly doubt that we shall meet again, Nine. Still, I should at least introduce myself, should I not. My name is Shadow. Remember it, for if we do meet again, It will likely be for no other reason then my being on a mission, and our meeting will only be a passing one, as it was now." With that, Ranmyaku let go of the spell and walked over to the hidden cave that he had made his home. It was a simple place...spartan, even. All it had was a bed, some covers, and a rucksack that held his clean clothing while his dirty laundry that was yet to be taken care of was in another, smaller bag. His abode was a hidden one, and only he knew where it was, since he always had a spell in place that made it seem and feel as though it were nothing more or less then a solid cliff-side to anyone but him. Not even bothering to undress, he lays down on top of his covers with his long coat removed and lying on top of him. Within moments he was asleep, and would reawaken only moments aft5er first light, as was his custom.
Enrise
Messengers spread all over across the land, looking for the chosen ones. They would find this person when the scrolls started to shake rapidly. For now, they each just tugged towards a direction slightly. One of them would go to Edwin Sharlock, an armor and blacksmith, to Ranmyaku Shadou, the bounty hunter, to Daemon Rein, a soldier who was famous around his parts, Saggat Deidriekus, the wandering soldier, and finally, Richy Breaty, a bartender. For now, however, Xilus had to prepare for such an adventure. His father's armor, shield, and sword, would protect him from such dangers. Armor crafted so finely that it was inscribed of ancient texts from the early Xanthion time period. Its durability could protect someone from a building collapsing on them, if that person had the blood of Xilus Tritus I, as he created this armor. The shield itself was built from the bones of an extinct dragon. This dragon's bones are unbelievably rare, just one bone of this dragon could buy an entire castle. The sword, however, is just mysterious. There is no text, nothing, about this sword, only that it was created by Xilus Tritus I, as well. These items would help Xilus on his quest, if the time should arise where he would have to fight with the Sintrionus.
Wuu.
OoC: Seeing as no one did an effort to reply to my post i'll try it again. Saggat was walking through the streets, inspecting them, even if he didn't knew anything about their possibly violent history. Enrise
One of the messengers finally reached a city, the town of Hiltanous. He grabbed onto the scroll tightly, as it was shaking violently towards one of the people he saw. He walked towards a man that was on patrol, and nodded his head. "Wandering Knight Saggat Deidriekus I presume?" asked the messenger. --I say Hiltanous cause I say so =3Mainly cause you never really stated what town you were in.
