Quiksilver
OoC: Ok, gotcha. IC: Gad bowed to the Master Takma as he walked away, trying to hide his complete confusion over everything the Master had said. Almost everything. Gad suddenly realized he was actually going on a mission; Takma had said so! Even more excited, Gad leapt out of the Room of A Thousand Fountains and down to his Master's room. He found her packing a couple of things. She was quite regal-looking, despite the half of a smile on her face. Bowing respectfully before her, Gad said, "Master, is it true..." "That we're going on a mission?" Diann looked at Gad and smiled. "Yes, its true. I believe the Council will brief us about it. I do expect it will have to do with that nasty business on Yaustaari, though." Diann suddenly felt uncertain; Would Gad be up for this? But it was impossible to look into the young Nautolan's confident face and feel the Force emanating powerfully from him to keep this view. Her fears would come to nothing, Diann tried to convince herself. However, she could not get rid of that uneasy feeling. Finally turning back to Gad, she put a hand on his shoulder and said, "Let us go the Council and find out what this is all about." And with Gad trailing after her, she set off towards the Council Tower.
Ultimate Assassin Ninjew
Kisune walked with his master Selloc Ailice through the hallways. They were both quiet, for that was something that was noted to be common between them. From time to time, Kisune would look at his master and wonder what she was thinking. She had called him earlier for no reason like always and now they were walking along. He was wondering what she wanted him for this time, since they had just trained not that long ago. "Keep your mind as ease and rest my young Padawan," Selloc Ailice told Kisune. He quickly rested his mind and stopped thinking about things that didn't quite matter. They continued walking and soon Kisune recognized that it was towards the Jedi Council Chambers.
Quiksilver
OoC: Cool, another person! IC: Gad and Master Notuna were about to open the Jedi Council doors when Gad suddenly sensed a presence behind him. He and his Master turned at the same time and saw another master-Padawan duo. The Padawan was a Human boy about his age and the Master was a benign-looking Vurk wearing the robes of a diplomat. Diann Notuna spoke the first, "Selloc Allice, and Padawan Kisune Karnon. It is nice to see you both." Diann started talking to Selloc while Gad looked curiously at the Padawan, Kisune Karnon. "Hello," He said. "My name is Gad Rostu-Alusto. How are you?" Ultimate Assassin Ninjew
Selloc Allice spoke in reply," It is nice to see you and your Padawan as well." Kisune simply looked at the Nautolan boy named Gad Rostu-Alusto. However he did not speak and just looked at him with a blank stare. "Oh, don't mind him Gad. He doesn't like talking very much. Now, Diann, I sense your here for a mission," Selloc said. Kisune then looked up at his master as if wanting to just skip the talking and do what they were here to do. She looked back at him and patted his head before returning her attention to the other master.
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"Enter," Jedi Master Larbei Sertor beckoned as the council room doors opened. The masters obeyed. "It's a fairly simple mission," Master Sertor greeted the new arrivals. It had been a delicate choice of words — it couldn't infuriate Gad with its dawdling or unnerve his master with its bluntness. "One that's already been launched, in fact. You're the second phase. "You'll be covering for Master Arkada," he confirmed; Notuna had suspected as such. "You will be deployed to Yaustaari aboard the cruiser Celestial Glen. The Glen launches from Coreesha at seven hundred — Visshin clock, of course." He paused, letting the information sink in. Then, he turned to Notuna and spoke. "Your mission is, as aforementioned, simple," he continued. "You are to monitor and detain any unidentified starcraft attempting to land in or around the Yoriu region, in hopes of identifying its cargo. If you find a ship that could be our perpetrators, you have been given warrants by dare Siorre Yoriu to arrest and search them, as well as detaining them as long as necessary for Master Arkada to leave the planet." He turned to Selloc and continued. "You, meanwhile, will continue our diplomatic campaign with Yatidor to ensure that they do not interfere with our plans. You should also attempt to make arrangements with the traders in the region to ensure that Dame Notuna's lockdown is effective." Now, he spoke to both pairs. "After Master Arkada makes it off-world, all you must do is protect it against enemies. We've prepared a pair of IIC1 Mucro interceptors for your and Dame Ailice's use in defending the Celestial Glen on your way home. This is the easy bit; even if the Glen is boarded, the odds that anyone will make it past Master Arkada and her Padawan are slim at best. "You should research and rest," he concluded. "May the Force be with you."
Quiksilver
Gad didn't have time to talk before he had been swept into the Council room and Jedi Councilor Larbei Sertor had told them their mission. A lockdown of the system, Gad mused, defending it against pirates and rogues..."That's awesome!" Gad said, punched the air with his fist. Diann Notuna, walking beside him as they made their way to the Archives to study, did not respond. She was deep in thought, trying to foresee the outcome of the mission. That was her best ability, Force Sight, the ability to glimpse into the future. However, something seemed to be clouding her vision. Notuna sighed. Thats not a good sign, she thought. Finally, Notuna and Gad reached the Archives. Gad forced the thoughts out of his head as sat down to study about the Yoriu region. Gad wanted to do good on his first mission. Davok
The book slammed close with a loud thud and scattered the innumerable dusty pieces of paperwork into chaos. The proprietor of this disturbance gave an irritated scowl and threw the copy of Xenobiology Arkkadia flying into a nearby bookcase. He brushed aside his chestnut coloured hair, and boosted him back up on his two feet, tip-toeing nimbly around the pieces of paper printed off from the Holonet recordings. Picking the abused book up nimbly, he carried across the smooth stone floor and inserted it exactly where he left it. He then crouched down and flicked out a small slip of paper, which contained a list with most of the names crossed out. He slipped out of his pocket a small cheap grey pen, and crossed out the second last name on the list. Jolting to an upright position, he grabbed hold of a rather hefty tome and dragged it down to the floor. Lying flat, he studied the cover. "The Travelings of Grand Master Njord Hallfax in the Atari Sector." Tarek ver Gamastrolopoulis smiled grimly. "If this doesn't have at least a somewhat detailed descriptions of the Mirakula mammary system that I dare say I'll..." He paused. He just felt someone entering in the room through that bloody invisible magic of his. He always found that rather like cheating, though he did admit it was frightfully useful. Three, one with a rather obvious signature. That sudden cringing wave of over eagerness and enthusiasm that made Tarek think to himself that being who could generate such a field should be dragged out into the street and shot. The others were more concealed, but the way they concealed them made them equally obvious. He had grown used to one of them's signature particularly well. Most of them alien. Gad, Notuna and the old man most likely. He flipped the book open to a random page and read aloud: "....ten days now, and Vlaadz sure didn't appreciate the sentiment. Generally it was all agreed among the crew that opening fire on Gamorreans in open space was a bad idea with an epileptic and a sentient gelatinous cube as our gunners. Nevertheless, we did afford a small mercy in the fact that Ensign Butchart is now with the Force and far, far away from us. Bloody weirdo." Quiksilver
OoC: Decided to create a little rivalry here... Gad felt ver Gamastrolopoulis presence through the Force. He smiled grimly. He had never really liked Tarek, who was always asking questions about his race and going into a frenzy whenever Gad brought up the Force. When his Master wondered off to look up more books, Gad quietly put down The Vast Political Systems of the Galaxy Volume 64: the Yaustaari and then got up and walked over to Tarek. "Stop doing that," He hissed. "You're giving up so much dislike and irritation its giving me a headache."
ANBU
Risshik waked out behind Gad, as he then turned towards the door and started walking, deep in thought he didn't notice the two. "now if the race i was born of had left their home planet often, and since it seems they can transform, into something similar to a large tree they might of been able to stay out of sight even though on the planet". Risshik then enters the room of a thousand fountains, sitting near one of these fountains he began to meditate, slowly floating only as of yet an inch off the ground as he relaxed. "Emotion, yet peace. Ignorance, yet knowledge. Passion, yet serenity. Chaos, yet harmony. Death, yet the Force." he slowly begins to think, reciting the original Jedi code in his head as he begins to meditate.
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
"Calm yourself, Gad," Master Takma advised. "If the negativity is bothering you, adding more will only intensify the problem. Let your emotion fill you, then leave you." As he spoke, he glanced at his Padawan's reading material and tried to recall Njord's travels. Hallfax hadn't actually been a Jedi, but he had been a mercenary who worked with the Jedi frequently and well. If he recalled correctly, some government — no, the Besaine Sector's research committee — had sent him there to explore on the behest of a small group of Mirakulas ambassadors hoping to flee their world. It was right up Tarek's alley — not least because of Njord's... interactions... with the Mirakulas monitors hoping to keep him on track. Njord himself was, Zakru suddenly remembered, half-Zeltron, but he played up his species's stereotypes in the worst way; Master Horin had utterly rejected the account. "I should warn you," he advised his Padawan, "of two things. Firstly, you are, as young Rostru-Alusto just pointed out, feeling quite negative right now. Speaking from experience, negative emotions will weigh you down, reducing your concentration and efficacy. "Secondly," he finished with a wry smile, "anything in there about the Zeltron is utterly incorrect, I'm afraid. The information on the Mirakulas is mostly accurate, thank goodness." If Shrike Arkada had taught him anything — and a Padawan would always teach their master many things — it was that respect was the best way to guide people. It was never good to reserve a special emotion for a Padawan; they should, instead, be treated as another peer, a teacher as much as a student. This was partially so that they wouldn't feel restrained and seek to rebel, and partially because they really were other peers, teachers as much as students. Tarek and Shrike, especially, exemplified this in their day-to-day lives, but it was true of all Padawans. He turned, the traditional black-brown cloak of the Jedi swirling behind him, and began to scry the Archives with the Force for his queries even as he proceeded towards the information desk. It seemed that Dame Notuna, or at least her Padawan, had decided to do some studying of the sector themselves. He walked back to Tarek; he could wait. "Return to our quarters in half an hour," he told his Padawan. "I'd like to run over a few mission scenarios with you." Now, he followed the other two. >>*<< Master Sertor rubbed his temples, sighing. Today was indeed a stressful day. He wondered vaguely how the rest of the Council was holding up, and then immediately hoped that his Padawan hadn't become too impatient with his repeated deployments. He felt about for Risshik's whereabouts — the Room of a Thousand Fountains. He was channeling the Force, and quite well, considering he'd just started Padawanship a month ago. Larbei smiled and rose slowly, deciding not to do the same as he walked to the Room of a Thousand Fountains. Perhaps they would practice together. They'd need the practice, he knew, no matter how the recent mission went.
Quiksilver
Gad stepped back, his momentary flash of anger fading as he murmured "Yes, Master." As the Master walked to talk to Tarek, Gad quietly escaped away and made it back to the table just as his Master caught sight of him. It seemed like Gad had made it back in time to avoid notice, but Gad thought that Notuna knew what happened. And her next statement proved it."Okay let me quiz you about the system," Diann said briskly. "What is the major sun of the system called?""Ahh...""What is the main export of the Yaustaari people?""Well, um...""Why do the Yaustaari refer to the Galactic Republic as Issh-""Ok Master! Please stop. I'm sorry I sneaked off." Gad said hurriedly. "I promise I won't let anything disturb me again."Diann Notuna smiled. "Good. You have learned a very important lesson today, Gad. Always keep your focus. Its a very important lesson."
Ultimate Assassin Ninjew
Kisune and Master Selloc Ailice walked to the Archives as well. Their mission was just as important as anyone else's. "Now Kisune, be wise in your decisions and actions that you may take. For you never know what might happen because of them. Now be mindful and go get ready for the mission," she said to him. "Yes Master," he said as he walked into the archives. She instead walked off most likely to her room. Kisune watched as Gad was being lectured and gave a smirk. He quickly started off with the system map, learning the terrain and weather.
ANBU
Risshik lowered himself to the ground as he opens his eyes, stopping his meditation for a while to have a short rest. Risshik then stood walking over to a nearby bench and sitting down. "Death, yet the Force.. a simple concept but how can something true to that exist, your soul may become one with the force at death but how would that be possible?". Risshik looks at the fountain as he reflects this slightly while he rests, unsure whether he would see Master Sertor today to practice or just meditate by himself. Quiksilver
The Celestial Glen launches tommorow morning, Gad repeated to himself in his mind, trying to ground it into his memory. He needed to be ready. His studying done, Gad was resting on a Temple balcony, overlooking the sprawling city below it. Far above the smog and fumes of the city, the air feel pleasantly cool to the Nautolan's wet skin, and he paused in him ruminations to allow himself a moment of comfort, looking up into the sky. Suddenly he sensed a presence moving behind him. Almost too comfortable to move, Gad moved partly towards the person, and saw through the door behind him, Kisune. As comfortable as he was, Gad felt like he wanted to know Kisune more. Moving to intercept him, Gad quickly moved in front of him. "Hi, Kisune," He said, using all of his talent to try to make Kisune feel happy and wanting to talk to him. "You studying for the mission?" Ultimate Assassin Ninjew
Kisune stopped when he heard Gad speaking to him. He knew that if he did not respond this time, gad would most likely follow him and continue trying to talk to him. So he decided to speak to Gad in an attempt to give Gad something he was looking for. "Yes I am. I am currently reading up on the terrain and weather the planet has. Just in case it is needed. If you do not know where your fighting and the conditions your fighting in, your as good as dead," Kisune stated bluntly. With that he closed up the book and went to go put it back. After putting the book back into its place, he went over and grabbed a book dealing with trade routes and maps on them. He opened it and began studying it as well. Quiksilver
Gad watched as Kisune walked away. He was not a idiot or that optimistic to think trying to build a friendship with Kisune would get somewhere. Why is he so unfriendly, though? Gad wondered, not looking where he was going. It was the spray of the water and the gurgling sound of liquids sliding over and down fountains that alerted Gad to his surroundings, and with a start, he realized he was in the Room of A Thousand Fountains. Hmm...Might as well meditate while I'm here, Gad thought. The Nautolan walked down a shining white path past many fountains until he reached the absolute center of the Room. It was no secret that here at the center it was the best to meditate. Settling himself on the ground, Gad began to meditate, his body gradually moving up into the air as he recited the Jedi Code in his head. Emotion, yet peace... ANBU
Risshik sees the Nautolan walk past towards the center to meditate. Risshik then walks down to the fountain nearby his bench and sitting infront of it. "I guess Master might not be coming here yet" he thinks while he looks at the doorway before starting to meditate. Risshik then slowly starts to float as he meditates, an inch off the ground within a few minutes as he recites the Jedi code in his head, again. "Emotion, Yet Peace..Ignorance yet Knowledge.. Passion Yet Serenity..". Risshik stayed perfectly still while he floated in his meditation, knowing that his Master promised to see him soon when he could, so he waited. Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
OoC: ANBU_Leader, you can control your Master... kao backup rejected; the Younglings aren't that out-of-control that they'd randomly antagonize people, and the Mirakulas are highly respected among the Jedi besides. IC: Raess needed not be told that they wouldn't retire quite yet — the danger that the infant could be abducted in the meantime was far too great. Therefore, she was left utterly sleepless while her master did... something... to preserve the child's safety. She was beyond grateful when Yaepel's soft blue glow crept over the horizon; though there were still several hours of 'night' left, she could at least excuse her awakening at this point. She rose, turned on her admittedly primitive light, and walked slowly over to the window. Two streams of distant black freighters were visible against the dim sky, ascending and descending like some great conveyor belt. Suddenly reminded of the start conditions her master had provided, she glanced at a clock near her bedside and used the Force to switch it to Visshin time, simultaneously controlling her impatience and practicing with precise movements. She would only need to wait two hours more before the Celestial Glen entered orbit. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep, so she turned to an activity she really did need practice in: meditation. Giving herself over to the Force was an activity she struggled in, and as soon as she began meditating, she became hyper-aware of — and downright paranoid of — her surroundings. This was... less than helpful when she was trying to relax, but she supposed she might as well give it a try. To make a long story short, it didn't work. After about twenty minutes of mad adrenaline rushing and effective Battlemind, Raess simply gave up, donned her brown Padawan's robe, and left her room, hoping that few, if not no, others would be awake to serve her. Quiksilver
OoC: Good, you're back. IC: The Celestial Glen. It was big, twice as long as the ship Gad and his master were taking to the Glen's docking bay, and as tall too. It had only seemed a minute ago Gad had been meditating and then suddenly Master Notuna appeared, telling him they had to board the Glen.Gad could only admire the ship's sleek exterior as his ship docked next to it. As he got off the transport ship, he looked over and saw Diann deep in thought. "What is it?" Gad asked as they walked over the bay floor to the Glen. "Nothing," Diann finally replied. Walking into the Glen, Diann put the thoughts out of her mind and strod forward to the helm. "Only a little while til liftoff, Gad." She said. "We're just waiting for Selloc Ailice and her Padawan." Ultimate Assassin Ninjew
Kisune finished reading the trade routes and the maps. He met his maste outside of the archive doors waiting for him. "It is time my Padawan," she said. Kisune nodded and followed her to the hanger bay to take a shuttle to the Celestial Glen. "have you studied up on what you need to know?" she asked him. Kisune gave a nod in approval and began a small meditation. It didn't take long for them to reach the massive ship. They exited the shuttle and went onto the celestial Glen. "I'll be in my room meditating," Kisune said. She nodded and went up to the helm. "All set to go," is all she said.
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
The Celestial Glen had two main selling points. The first was its elegant aesthetic design. It had three massive passenger ports radiating from its centre, the top one (for first-class passengers, of course) perpendicular to the ground and the other two at sixty-degree angles from the first. The second was its speed. With its crew and passengers all vacant from the rod-like centre of the craft, it had plenty of room for an engine, and it used this to be one of the quickest passenger craft on Visshin. Evidently, the Jedi Knights were familiar with the starship, for its conductor, a tall human with a short, well-trimmed beard, greeted them by name with a serious air as they climbed aboard. "We'll reach Yaustaari by daylight," he assured them as they passed. "Best of luck." >>*<< "Yo," Master Arkada greeted her Padawan. Raess nodded, letting her curiosity ask her questions for her. "Weirdly enough, the kid's still there," she said happily. "They generally don't disappear until the Jedi actually show up, but I thought for sure their security wouldn't be able to handle it. I dropped by overnight, o' course, but nothing turned up." Her tone suddenly turned dour. "Whoever's behind this is enjoying themselves, that's for sure. "That said, let's get moving." Raess blinked, surprised at the suddenness of this invitation. Her master explained herself: "The kid's more vulnerable now than ever; I just left. If we go now, we can catch 'em in the act. C'mon, I've rented a speeder." Raess suddenly realized that Shrike's plan was far more complex than an attempt to save her Padawan effort, and she was quite grateful for this. By leaving her out of the child's guardianship by night, she'd be able to surprise the attackers with her presence; they would assume only one Jedi had come to collect the baby. By not mentioning the plan overnight, there would be no chance that the thieves would catch on in time. "Ooh, you're getting it," Shrike smiled, her cobalt eyes gleaming like metal. The duo rose and sprinted away, determined to reach the child in time.
Quiksilver
Yaustarri is like a little jewel, Gad thought. A green and blue jewel. "Shrike? Shrike? Do you copy? Its Notuna. Over." The voice of his master sounded weary and exasperated. Before, when Gad had first heard only bursts of static answer Diann as she tried communicating with Master Arkada, he had thought something was wrong. But Diann had just looked at him when he expressed his concerns and replied with "There's nothing to worry about. Master Arkada is always like this. We'll know something is wrong if she does answer." With nothing to do except stare at blank screens as they scanned the Yoriu system for threats, Gad decided to concentrate on his surroundings and become familiar with them. When he had finally memorized the Glen's helm in his head, he turned to Yaustarri, the planet they were orbiting. However, this didn't satisfy Gad. He wanted some action. If only something would happen...
Ultimate Assassin Ninjew
Kisune came out of his room as he felt the ship exit hyperspace. He concentrated on his master's connection with the force and went to seek her to be sure. He found her sitting in a lounge area reading a book on Humans. The moment he turned the corner and saw her, she looked up form her book at him. "Master is it time," Kisune asked her. She gave a nod and closed her book then put it away. She walked up to him and patted his back to follow her. He did so and they walked to the forward helm. She gestured at a seat with a radar map in front of it. He sat and began to watch the radar, scanning the trade routes he had read up on.
