Force-sensitive from birth, you are one of the select few children in the galaxy chosen to become Jedi Knights. Now, your twelfth birthday has come, your lightsabre is in your hands, and a Jedi has elected to make you their Padawan.

This training is more intricate than it seems. Padawanship marks a Jedi's first forays into the galaxy at large, and it is here that your practical experience will be gained. You will also begin your specialization, in peace and in war. This is an inopportune time to undergo such a profound transformation, however — a dark conspiracy is brewing, and mundane empires unaware of the Force have begun to take up lightsabres as their weapons. Could it be that some mad cult has chosen to delve once again into the evil mystery known as the Dark Side of the Force? Or is it simply a misguided attempt to correct the Jedi's perceived failings? Worst of all, has some army — the Mandalorians of Daloris, perhaps, or the mercenary legions of Skrat Jephego — begun to duplicate the Jedi weapon that allows them to maintain peace and order in the galaxy?

The answers may be revealed all too soon. As you and your Master begin your training and missions, the depth of the conspiracy is becoming more and more obvious — the influence of the mysterious sabresmiths is becoming apparent even in the war between the Meshitan Empire and the monks of Criada, the enigmatic marauders terrorizing the Republic capital of Alodi, the vanishing of the Kimotan prince Sek'nos Gril, the sudden rebellion of the Zeldod system, the cryptic agitation of the isolationist Haphran State. The galaxy can only hope you will be ready to meet these challenges... and find the sabre thieves.
>The Sith have never existed, and the Jedi themselves are fairly new. There's considerable galactic backlash against them.

>The Republic isn't a galactic hegemon; there are other empires, too. The aforementioned Skrat Jephego operates the Kulkurian Empire from the world of Kulkur, selling soldiers to other nations that like fighting among themselves (as that description at the end states). You'll learn more as the RP progresses, but note that the Republic is but one of many interstellar nations.

>The tech level is low enough that a single world is still at least as powerful as, say, a Canadian province. As aforementioned, Kulkur can run a mercenary operation powerful enough to feed a civilization from a single world, and Zeldod seems to think it has that strength as well.

>None of the planets are the same as in the original, but there's still a Galactic Republic. The players will decide whether or not it takes a role as hegemon.

>The lightsabre forms of Niman, Juyo, and Vaapad do not exist in this AU; Niman and Juyo have yet to be invented, and Vaapad's creator will not exist.
{Delete all in brackets or you will be denied.}

Name: {Something realistic for the SW universe.}

Species: {Don't make it something weird like a Gamorrean, please.}

Gender: {Nothing your species can't be.}

Personality: {This needn't be long, but it should be informative.}

Sabre Color: {Blue or green, of course.}

{NOTES: You've been in the Order since six months of age, no exceptions. There's plenty of room for drama within the Order; no need to run the cliché plot of rebelling. The Sith don't exist yet anyway, so don't bother. Also, I'll add the data for your sabre style as the story progresses, and I'll add data on your master after you apply.}

Name: Raess Cervax

Species: Human

Gender: Female

Personality: Taciturn and devoted to self-improvement, Raess is nevertheless insecure and confused about the world she's been brought up in. Some latent side of her realizes how thorough her indoctrination into the Order has been, but this same side tells her that the Jedi are right anyway. Her Force powers are weak, but her reflexes, dexterity, and clever planning make up for this so well that the Council decided weapons master Shrike Arkada would be best suited to train her.

Sabre Color: Blue

Current Sabre Style: Soresu, with elements of Makashi

Master's Name: Shrike Arkada

Master's Species: Human

Master's Gender: Female

Master's Rank: Jedi Master [Jedi Weapons Master]

Master's Sabre Color: Green

Master's Current Sabre Style: Makashi, with elements of Soresu and Ataru

Master's Personality: Ordinarily, one would wonder how Shrike Arkada ever became a Jedi Master. She's flippant, apathetic, and distinctly introverted in ways that are quite opposite to the ideal Jedi. But Shrike has seen the effects of the Dark Side firsthand, and she's actually incredibly dedicated to the Order and its goals. She took on a Padawan surprisingly well, given her general lack of social interaction, and she already shares a bond with Raess — indeed, the Council has only just begun to worry about the possibility of her defection now that she's met Raess properly...
Name: Risshik Myec

Species: Neti

Gender: Male

Personality: Risshik usually is calm in most situations, he had been thoughtful throughout most of his time in the order and as he had been a Neti with no need for food due to feeding through photosynthesis. He has usually stayed away from others and is silent whenever he is not engaged by others. Risshik has at small amounts of time questioned some of the Jedi teachings but, he has never gone against any of them, often keeping any thoughts like this to himself. Risshik usually prefers the silence of when he is alone to any noise associated with others, at times he is distracted looking up at the stars wondering which was near his homeworld, but he knows that he is a jedi and doesn't think he'll have much of a chance to return to it anyway. Risshik is fast and is intelligent on most of the matters within the academy, knowing he will (because of his species) outlive most of the others at the academy, he stays away from making most forms of friendship.

Sabre Color: Green

Master's Name: Larbei Sertor

Master's Species: Zabrak

Master's Gender: Male

Master's Rank: Jedi Master [Jedi Consular and Councilor]

Master's Sabre Color: Green

Master's Current Sabre Style: Pure Soresu

Master's Personality: An old, compassionate, fatherly, and experienced Jedi, Master Sertor is a renowned Jedi Consular whose former Padawans are numerous and prolific peacekeepers. His connection to the force is exceptional among the Jedi. While many feel that he is too conservative and cautious, his many missions and reckless former master gave him plenty of reason to be careful. His advice will be much appreciated in the coming storm.
Name: Kisune Karnon

Species: Human

Gender: Male

Personality: A mostly quiet and ambitious guy, who will speak his mind when he wants to. He usually doesn't get angry, but when he does it means bad news for anyone who meets him. Kisune likes to work alone, for he feels it is better and not have to depend on anyone. This could be from fear of being backstabbed or just because he doesn't like others too well.

Sabre Color: Green

Master's Name: Selloc Ailice

Master's Species: Vurk

Master's Gender: Female

Master's Rank: Jedi Knight

Master's Sabre Color: Blue

Master's Current Sabre Style: Shien w/Soresu elements

Master's Personality: Selloc Ailice is a diplomat through and through. Respectful, careful with her words, and superbly persuasive, she is one of the Order's most valuable links with the fledgling Republic's Senate. She hates fighting, and ends battles quickly. However, while helping bring peace with her silver tongue indubitably brings her fulfillment, she doesn't seem to feel much for the people those peaces would benefit; this worries the Council, who hope to help her bond more genuinely with others by assigning her a Padawan.
Name: Zekk Corrino

Species: Sorrussian

Gender: Male

Personality: Is very calm, when attacked he will unleash hell on his enemies. He was raised in the Jedi temple and was taught to not make relationships with other people. He loosely follows the Jedi Code, but follows orders in his own way (like Anakin will later) but for the most part is still a good person at heart and will stop at nothing to protect his beliefs, friends, and honor. He is a good fighter and is aggressive due to his species, but is sociable and provides a feeling of safety to those around him. He likes to sneak out of the temple to visit friends.

Sabre Color: Green, uses a tonfa handle.

Master's Name: Meldra Horin

Master's Species: Zeltron

Master's Gender: Female

Master's Rank: Jedi Knight

Master's Sabre Color: Blue

Master's Current Sabre Style: Pure Ataru

Master's Personality: The Zeltron empathy and libido make them dubious choices for Jedi, but Dame Meldra Horin has well overcome these difficulties and become a highly effective Jedi Knight. A childhood friend of Selloc Ailice, Meldra is her friend's apparent opposite: highly empathetic, but with limited control over her actions. Negative emotions fuel her, causing the Council to assign her a very calm Padawan, but even as a Jedi Knight, she is improving at a meteoric rate. Of note is her and Dame Ailice's participation in the last onset of the Dark Side, which was quelled by Shrike Arkada; it's often speculated that only that incident allowed her to become a Knight in the first place, since it would make her much less vulnerable to the Dark Side's allure.
Name: Tarek ver Gamastrolopoulis

Species: Human

Gender: Male

Personality: Tarek's composure is that of a reserved and relaxed being, bordering on outright laziness and seeming disinterest to those who don't know him well enough. He has a skeptical attitude towards the concept of the Force, though experience has led him to begrudging accept it as at least existing, though beyond that his Masters haven't gotten through to him yet. Surprisingly enough, his cynical and lazy attitude is balanced by an outright fascination with other species bordering on xenophilia. He usually makes quick probing conversation with any members of other species he could find: about their culture, what it's like, how do you reproduce, etc. He often buries himself in the Temple Archives on wars, tales of exploration, and is never seen without a book of some kind in his hand.

Sabre Color: Blue

Master's Name: Zakru Takma

Master's Species: Twi'lek

Master's Gender: Male

Master's Rank: Jedi Master [Jedi Guardian and Councilor]

Master's Sabre Color: Blue

Master's Current Sabre Style: Soresu w/elements of Makashi, Ataru

Master's Personality: Master Takma was a clever choice for young ver Gamastrolopoulis's Master. His incredible amount of combat experience and skill in storytelling, besides making him beloved among the Younglings, will also allow him to keep Tarek's interest level fairly high while also keeping him in check. His non-humanity will also help ver Gamastrolopoulis stay interested. But the real cunning is in why he'd tolerate Tarek as a Padawan in the first place: Shrike Arkada, also well-known for her apparent apathy and cynicism, was once his Padawan, and he knows exactly what kind of incredible potential Tarek might hold. However, Master Takma's self-esteem is also famously low, and deep down, he doubts that he'll be able to keep his new Padawan from the Dark Side...
Name: Gad Rostu-Alusto

Species: Nautolan

Gender: Male

Personality: Gad is a very charismatic and friendly person, and it is almost like he can get people to feel what he wants them to feel. Of course, being a jedi, he always uses this "talent" to make people feel comfortable around him. Being very good in Force also had made Gad a little bigheaded. He thinks he can solve any problem or do anything all by himself.

Sabre Color: Blue

Master's Name: Diann Notuna

Master's Species: Human

Master's Gender: Female

Master's Rank: Jedi Knight

Master's Sabre Color: Green

Master's Current Sabre Style: Ataru w/elements of Soresu

Master's Personality: Diann struggled with insecurity throughout her Padawanship, and she still struggles with self-doubt as a Jedi Knight. The Council hopes that Rostu-Alusto's confidence and Notuna's insecurity will cancel each other out into the balance most desired by the Jedi. On the bright side, Diann is very kind and respectful, and she loves her work; she's among the Jedi least susceptible to the Dark Side in the entire Order. She's well on her way to becoming a renowned Jedi Master.

Accepted.

No, they didn't exist, either. The Jedi are actually fairly new in this universe; no one's had time to start a sect of the Force.

Well, the entire point of this is that all the players are on the same side. The antagonists are all NPCs.

Mandalorians are a multi-species faction, not a species, and they're mutually exclusive with the Jedi. Fix that, and add a bit more about his reactions to friends and allies, and you'll be accepted.

Well, Kit Fisto probably won't exist in this universe, but a quick change of nomenclature could make it possible.

Yes, the masters are all mine inventions.

Add a bit more in the personality section; we need his weaknesses, too. You'll be accepted if you fix that.

Hey Supreme, personality is what a person is like. A bio section would depict the history of that person, quite even possibly the weakness of them. This is merely a thought that I felt I should say.

Can my saber be like black or red, I like those colors a lot better and I feel like mine would be more original anyway. And yes i know that red is color of the Sith and that is not what I'm wanting [unless evil was a side, then I would have him be evil].

Nope, just blue or green. Mr. Lucas has claimed that Jedi blades are only blue, green, or, in Mace Windu and Siri Tachi's cases, purple. We have no Mace Windus or Siri Tachis, so blue and green it is. This is mostly because all natural crystals are, nowadays, harvested from the same planet.

The personality includes a bit of biography as is, but the trouble is, these peoples' bios are all pretty much the same: adopted to the Temple at six months, raised, trained, now being accepted. The personality, being what a person is like, comprises their weaknesses. Thanks for the comment, though.

Accepted once you pick a sabre color.

Accepted; will draw up a Master now.

Huh. Yellow lightsabres... I thought those were restricted to the games. :/ Where'd they show up in canon?

Although, I must say, lightsabres in shades of grey, white and black included, look really, really stupid.

app edited, and since mandalorians are a multi-species faction, should I do something like Species/mandalorian would that be OK?

Yellow is only used by an elite few with an abnormally high midi-chlorian count.

Huh. Well, again, we're assuming that the Jedi only have access to Ilumesque crystals.

EPISODE II

RAPTORES ENSIUM

A turbulent time in the galaxy is quickly coming to an end. The GALACTIC REPUBLIC, formed by refugees of numerous factions tired of war, is quickly gaining power in a galaxy stalemated by a power balance instituted by the JEDI ORDER.

However, someone seeks to destroy this delicate balance. The LIGHTSABER, the chosen weapon of the Jedi, has begun to appear in the hands of those without the wisdom to wield it. Worse, Force-sensitive infants have begun disappearing as soon as collection teams arrive.

Concerned that the Dark Side may be at work, the Jedi have deployed SHRIKE ARKADA and her new Padawan to pick up the latest 'recruit,' in hopes of discovering a reason for the rash of disappearances...

OoC: BUMP

IC:

Yaustaari was technically a dictatorship, but true political strength lay among its adige, political factions that blended tribes, clans, and city-states. Those mostly came in two forms — the adigitaradu, ruled by dictators called taradu revered beyond almost any other dictators in existence, and the adigisiorre, ruled by elders who elected siorre to do their bidding. The adigiuchue were a third sort; they were proper democracies, where citizens (uchue) would gather and make their decisions, but by the nature of the proper democracy, they never expanded to any significant amound. The aournitulli, the aforementioned "centralized" government, mostly perpeturated their delusions by bullying local adigiuchui; the truly successful adigi were usually safely on the other side of the planet from the capitol.

If a Force-sensitive child were to appear anywhere on Yaustaari, the odds are in favor of their landing in an adigisiorre; unencumbered by the egos and maintenance of a taradu, they tended to expand and research much more quickly. Thankfully, one such adigisiorre, entitled Siorre Yoriu, was the location of the latest collection.

The child, Ruldui Aobhane Yoriu, wasn't of the local Epicanthix species, but instead of Mirakulas blood. As the name of the species might imply, the Mirakulas have an incredible control over the Force. It wasn't a child the Jedi could pass up.

Neither could the child thieves, if they existed.

The words of the Yaustaarian tongue spun in Raess's head as she desperately tried to keep her background knowledge of the forested, swampy world and its politics straight. This is normal, she reminded herself. And everyone else can keep track of this.

...but how do they do it?

Apparently, her master had sensed her distress. "What's wrong?" Shrike Arkada asked, her rich, brown eyes reflecting sympathy and mild concern.

"How..." Raess struggled to put her quandary into words without offending her master. "...do you keep all this information straight... for every mission?"

Master Arkada chuckled. "I don't," she admitted. "Most people think the Jedi are provincial; they never leave Visshin, after all. So they take care to fill you in as you go. So long as you do the research properly, you usually have a pretty good idea of what's going on when you touch down. You won't have a problem," she added. "I heard from Master Totan what it's like down there. The Yoriu are, quote, 'talkative braggarts.'"

Raess allowed herself a sigh of relief. Oddly, after hearing her master's speech, her thoughts seemed to have organized themselves into a coherent briefing. "Thank you," she said happily.

"No problem."

"Out of curiosity," she added, "when did Master Totan say this? His Padawan seems to think highly of the adigisiorre in general."

"Trying to cover his tracks, hm?" Arkada laughed again. "He was venting about it a week after his mission was over."

One thing that always stood out to Raess was her master's sense of humor; outside Master Arkada, humor seemed limited to the Jedi Knights.

"He's an efficient sort," she continued, "and he hates reading redundant histories and briefings, I know, so I'm guessing that has something to do with it. We, on the other hand —" she was in irony mode now — "pledged ourselves to each other and to redundancy when we signed up."

Raess smiled, more out of relief than humor. Master Arkada wasn't terribly nervous; she just didn't have adequate material for proper jokes. She, however, seemed to be the only one aboard who wasn't.

Even the passengers seemed oddly alert...

>>*<<

Zakru Takma had had many years to perfect the art of controlling his emotions. It had been an necessary achievement — it wasn't easy to graduate three Padawans without having a measure of control over them.

And yet, Master Takma still couldn't help but worry about the mission at hand. Not because of the mission's handlers — Arkada had handled worse, he knew, perhaps better than anyone. No, he feared for what might happen if the mission turned out to be a futile exercise.

That would ruin the entire future of the order.

He forced himself to focus, find a centre of calm. The Room of a Thousand Fountains was a very good place to do that, and he had little trouble meditating calmly for several minutes until he began wondering about the present.

There were no Youngling training sessions as of now, and Takma knew from experience that it was better to align a Padawan's training with the Youngling training they'd grown up with. It tested their patience, while also allowing them to feel more comfortable and familiar with their surroundings as they began a difficult transition to a more individualized lifestyle than they would ever deal with again. Young Tarek was therefore left on break, indubitably burying himself in some chronicle of yore.

It might be a good idea to check up on him, Takma decided, fully aware that he was simply looking for an excuse to refresh his memory about Yaustaari.

Peace. Quiet. Relaxation. Gad breathed in and out. He must be one with the Force. He could not let the fact that his friend Raess was already on her first mission and he wasn't break through his meditation- Shoot. He just did. Gad sighed. Well, this wasn't going to work. Gad got up and walked over to his bed. He couldn't concentrate. He had just laid down when his comm suddenly beeped. His heartbeat instinctively accelerated, and he used all of Nautolan willpower to calm it down. "Don't get your hopes up." Gad thought to himself. He picked up the comm and answered "Yes?" His master, Diann Noctuna answered, "Get to my room right away Gad." Gad felt his heartbeat accelerate again and answered Diann gleefully, "Yes, Master." Gad set the comm down and raced out the door into the gleaming Temple (We are in a temple right?) hallway. There could only be one reason Diann would call him to his room. They were assigned a mission!

Gad was halfway to Diann's room when he suddenly his Force Sense prickled. Someone was behind him. Gad glanced behind him and saw a elderly Twi'lek master walk through a doorway. Master Zakru Takma? Gad remember him from when he had been younger. He was the storyteller. Gad felt anxiousness and worry emanating from Master Takma and almost unconsciously, he followed the Master to see what was wrong.

Ooc: ! Oh by the way Gamemaster, as you can see I controlled Diann Noctuna here. Is that okay, or can you only control Masters?

OoC: The Masters are 'public-domain' characters; so long as they remain in character, anyone can control them. The priority of control goes something like this:

>Me: I know their backstories, so I get to be canon.

>Padawan: They sort of need to control their Masters in order to get anything done.

>Everyone Else: For flavor. To be avoided if possible.

Try not to issue yourself missions from here on out, though; a great deal of the RP is training at the Temple.

IC:

The pale Twi'lek turned to face the young Nautolian. "You are Gad Rostru-Alusto, correct?" he noted. He was the one who would operate the Mucro, he recalled. His impulsive personality would suit the quick interceptor well.

"You ought to see your master right now," he said seriously. "I believe you are to be sent on the mission I'm here to... proofread." He smirked inwardly, knowing the effect his words would have, but revealed nothing as he turned and continued towards the Archives.
