I removed the statistics, because it feels kind of wrong to just copy them from the guy who worked hard to gather the info. :S If you want them, I'll PM you a link.

 

Tiers based on the 1st 2 weeks of the format

 

Tier 1

Synchro Cat

Blackwings

 

Tier 2

Lightsworn (It's amazing how Starlight Road kills this deck.)

Gadgets (Standard and Machina)

Gladiator Beasts

 

Tier 3

Monarchs

Burn

Final Countdown

Fairies

Plants

Gravekeepers

STUN

etc

 

There are very little differences between the different tiers this format.

I noticed a nice variation to kick off the format at our locals, also. Makes side decking appropriately more of a challenge but at the end of the day there are always going to be decks that are more problematic than others. I played 2 Spy and 2 Guard in my Flamvell build under the guise that Blackwing and GB would be incredibly popular, as they work effectively against both.

 

Funny how you didn't see any X-Saber decks; they gave me one of my most challenging games yesterday.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm kinda unhappy about someone mentioning Countdown topping.

It's become a rich man's Deck type due to the obligatory presence of 3x Battle Fader.

Could someone post the Deck that topped? Pojo won't open on my pc for some reason.

 

Anyways, meta looks better than last time, even though the remains of last meta are still visible. What kind of gadgets topped?

IMO, it's still early to start with statistics about the current format. Like last format with the random GB decks, in which by the end, they all sucked (in a nutshell)

 

People are still trying to figure out what deck is fastest in the current format, which explains really the overall variation of decks

 

Although, its good to see Gadgets and Monarchs again

I say wait awhile before claiming how good/bad these 6 months are gonna be. I alot of people think Infernities are gonna beat the top, GB's are gonna be killed by a card coming in a while, and aren't Blackwings gonna get even more support? Anyways, all I have to say is just be patient before saying anything big.

cyber decks will make a dent with cyber semi-ed and their new little guy coming out.

 

I've played the new gravekeeper stuff with the current banlist, my casters can barely win, only because I can kill his field with mine, and soild gives me that boost I need to keep in control.

REDMD has gotten old, and with cyber coming, anti-ATK measures will be implamented even more. hell, I'm thinking about trying to get some battle faders to side in if my apprentice engine stuff doesn't help enough.

 

I'm thinking about inventing "opression citadel" (without royal opression, lol.) since we now have smashing ground at 3. I mean with the monster toolbox of effects, and killing everything in my way with spells that will propell my monster effects, and attacking directly with 1600+ monsters should be effective.

 

 

I still just see vallhalla builds.

for some reason, idk why I don't play that deck, they never really change much around here.

Anyway, I did some testing today and realized that Synchro Kat is the deck to beat pre-TSHD.

 

EDIT: And most of the LS decks that topped don't run Kristya, Flamevell or Twilight shenanigans. It's not even Aurkus control. It's just standardsworn with less Charges, Luminas, Necros and Honests.

This format allows many decks to be played competitively since zombies and lightsworns are out of the tier 1 spotlight. Blackwings and GB's will reign to be the top, even with Starlight Road out as a counter-measure to them. X-Sabers and Infernities will rise in popularity with new support and less things to worry about. A few anti-meta decks can shine, especially one that can stop GB's and Blackwings easily. Flamvell Cat and Diva Coda are two decks I'm looking foward to running in this format :P

I like how a guy top 4d a recent regional with three machina decks put together. That takes some skillz.

 

I am pretty sure that there were more people that did this. 2x Machina Gadgets and 3x Machina topped and these decks don't need a lot more than whats in the Starter Deck.

There isn't any any info one 1-2 regionals, but I doubt that their will be Sabers there. I doubt that people will pay 70$ for Emmersblade. It is essential for the deck, but it's not as broken as the other cards that cost so much.
