I suppose. If it has enough defensive investment, it might be able to wall some attacks and Sweep that way (although the lack of any kind of recovery move hurts this).

 

It has a pretty decent Sp.Def stat, too, so you could bring it in on Special Attacks if you're going for an in-switch. They have a habit of scaring off Togekiss, due to resistance to Air Slash, and the threat of a STABd, base 115 TBolt.

The 252 HP EVs can be split between HP, DEF and SpD to get the best overall defenses. I was lazy so I just did max HP. No point investing in Speed, but we need to bulk this guy up so he can survive a strong UU Earthquake.

 

I don't have a fourth attack, but it needs to hit Nidoking and Queen for at least neutral damage.

[Tekken Ham]

HP Water can hit them hard, or Ice, but Water gets the boost from Rain which is oh so prevalent in UU.

 

I would much rather have a sub set like:

Modest

4 HP/ 252 SpAtk/ 252 Spe

-Substitute

-Tail Glow

-TBolt

-HP Ice

With a Modest nature, it's max speed is 304 (after Salac). That's just barely higher than a neutral natured Base 100. :/

It would really help if Amphy had some kind of Recovery attack. I remember I had a technique, Recharge, in my fakemon set. It was an Electric recover that boosted the recovery amount if Charge was used beforehand, but using it also made the user more susceptible to water during the turn it was used.

 

If only Amphy could use that.

 

I could see:

 

TBolt

Tail Glow

Recharge

Signal Beam / HP Water (For hitting Grass and Psychic / Ground and Fire; Dark and Rock threats aren't too prevalent in UU, and any Rock types there are typically have Ground as well)

 

This way, he has good coverage, can be invested for bulk, and can easily hit his most common UU counters - namely Camerupt and Hypno/Grumpig.

Bah, I made a team on Smogon today and attempted to incorporate Absol in a standard metagame team.

 

If Gen V doesn't bring an Absol evo that is as fast as Lucario, I'll be pissed. The damn thing has so much potential, except for its lack of speed. :/

I don't have a single illegitimate Pokemon in SS. Some of them may have been obtained by illegitimate means, but they were all captured properly and in the appropriate locations~

 

My Arceus is even an official event Arceus, which allowed me to obtain a legitimate Giratina-O, which is awesome.

Meh, I honestly don't care if something is hacked as long as its stats are legit. Call me crazy, but it honestly doesn't matter. Just assume you are playing on Shoddy, really.

It's not an overly touchy subject of any noteworthiness for me. I just prefer legitimate Pokemon. I can settle for a hacked Pokemon if the means of obtaining it properly are not within my power, but if I have the resources available, I'll strive for the legitimate version at all costs.

 

Even if that means catching Groudon a thousand times until it was the nature I wanted. -.-

I remember in Ruby I was attempting to get an Adamant Groudon (no IV preferance, though). And I was so underleveled that catching it without the Master Ball was hell. I eventually gave up and traded with someone. And now I don't even want the Groudon anymore. ^_____^

Well, I'd prefer if it was level 60+ and whatnot. Uhh... that's fine, but I wanted it on my SoulSilver. If we could hold off just a little bit on the trade, until I get an FC for SS? That way I can trade you the 'Rachi from my Diamond, and you can trade me the Smeargle to my SS.

Rayquaza is all I need on my SS, and then I'll have legitimately captured every single legendary/Uber in the series, with them all being on my SS.

 

And I can go catch Rayqauza right now if I wanted to. But I'm too tired to start catch-spamming to try and get a good nature right now.

 

(Incidentally, every one of my other Ubers and Legendaries have favorable natures. Yay.)
