This is not some silly little Fan Club, so if you've come to rant about your favorite cute Pokemon or about the anime, this is not the club for you. Do please kindly show yourself out.

So then I assume you're new to the competitive scene?

 

Tiers are the basic determinant factor of a Pokemon's overall strength on its own, and how well it functions in competitive play.

 

Shoddy Battle is basically an online PvP for Pokemon Battling.

That's the best resource I can recommend at the moment.

 

A while back, Felix and Dark were looking into starting Competitive Battling Class, where I was going to be the UU Tier teacher, but that would still require you to know what the tiers are first.

 

Anyway, give it a look, and then get back to me on weather or not you still want to be a part of this club.

Don't expect me to be 'uber' active (get the pun?), but I'll join because this might liven up YCM for me... hopefully.

I think that's about it. I honestly don't remember all the Pokemon games I have, but the only one of importance is Diamond.

 

Preferred Tier: OU, but I'm looking heavily into NU battling and it looks interesting.

 

Shoddy Battle Name: If I ever decide to re-download it, I'll tell you.

Favorite Pokemon: Darkrai... probably the only Dark-type in the entire game that can run a special set with huge success. Except for Boah, but I never see him in OU anyways.

Well that idea sort of crashed and burned because, for one, Felix is rarely active anymore. And I, myself, have been going down in activity. And two, we'd mostly be copy/pasta'ing stuff from Smogon or teaching over Shoddy, but Smogon Forums has that teacher/apprentice thing anyways. So it's a pretty horribad idea, especially on THIS forum where 0.00001% of people play Pokemon competitively, and not many more would like to learn.

 

I haven't done competitive battling in a long while, so my skills are rusty. But I've been brushing up on my Smogon reading, so I guess that isn't all too bad.

 

CAP 10 is starting, well, it already did start.

 

As a random topic, is anyone planning to get HG/SS (comes out in US in a few days) and then eventually the Gen V games? The only reason I'd want them is for the move tutors, but I have some really nice members on Serebii and Smogon that do it for me for free.

 

Also, I'm working on a Choice Band ExtremeSpeed Dragonite set, anyone care to help out? ;D

Topic? So what do you think of this new Pokemon Zoroark? It seems to me that it's going to be the 5th Gen’s Lucario; it's not a legendary Pokemon and it's introduced before the rest of the 5th Gen. It's BS and moves I could even guess at.

 

For that matter, what do you think of the now 100% certain 5th Gen? Hey Dark/Zex, what do you think about that? You know, because there's definitely going to be a 5th Gen now.

 

EDIT:

 

@Dark: I dont think it's going to work (and obviously, neither do you), it was a nice idea but if anybody wants to learn something like that the best thing is to join the tutor program on Smogon.

Sad face. Oh well, I'm happy about a Gen V. I'm just hoping that the DPPt metagame isn't completley erased. D:

 

And on an unrelated note, whenever I battle someone over WiFi with Voice Chat on, I blast

in the background. Or at least recently I have.

 

Uhh... it's a pure Dark type. But it looks like physical, so Darkrai still remains the sole special Dark-type.

Eh, I didn't think you guys would continue with it, I just thought I'd mention it. =p

 

My activity isn't exactly stellar either, but with HGSS and Gen V on the way, I figured maybe our zest for Pokemon would rekindle itself sometime soon, and so thought this club was a good idea.

 

If it doesn't work out, ah well, at least we all get some post count.

 

 

That said, I've already rubbed it in Dark's face about Gen V, Felix. xD I made sure to personally PM him about it as soon as I found out, and he was Sad Faec at first.

 

As for the metagame, there's bound to be some changes. You can't just add a hundred or so new pokemon and expect all the tiers to stay the same. Although I'm sure OU mainstays will remain as such - you'd be hard-pressed to find a way to push the likes of Gyarados, TTar, Metagross, and other such and suchs out of OU.

 

Speaking of, I recently swallowed my pride and finally made a pure OU team. It's doing well, and I have a weaker variation (just because of the imperfect IVs) on my DS, if anyone wants to take a go at it.

 

Also, another note on the fifth gen - I wanna see more evolutions for Pokemon that need it. I'm sure I don't have to tell you who I'm thinking of.

 

 

@Dark: Eh, Dragonite is something I have zero experience on, so I haven't got any tips for that.

The DPPt metagame isn't changing at all with the advent of Gen V. However, it could be forced into oblivion because more people would rather battle with the new Gen V Pokemon and the super-special-awesome blah blah in there.

After Gen V comes out, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to use DPPt to battle against people with the new games. Shoddy will also be updated so that Gen V Pokemon are in it.

 

And only a select few people are going to do DPPt battles.

 

The metagame will completley die and be overrun by all these new Gen V Pokemon.

 

Look at what happened after Gen IV came out. All the RSE metagames eventually faded away, except for I guess that NetBattle thing.

For the record, I have SS on reserve too, I just listed myself as owning it because I will own it soon, so yeah.

 

Dark, I think you're overreacting a bit. xD The DS is still the current Nintendo system of choice, so I doubt Gen V is going to move onto some new platform that makes the DS Gens unbridgeable.

 

And besides, even if some new system does appear, they'll probably incorporate a Pal Park, like they did for Gen III-IV.

 

 

Also, new members (And Ham =P) accepted.

 

Anyway, I'm putting out a challenge. I haz new OU team, and I wanna fight over Wifi with it. Any takers?

I've started working on my collection of Pokemon again, I think I have all OU Pokemon and most BL and UU, now I'm doing some NUs. If any body wants to do sometrading I'm cool for that too.

 

Also, I don't recall ever having a higher post count than you :?
