Part I: A Lonely Child]

"Mother, I saw another one! This one was small, and it told me to follow it! I swear!"

"Ryoko, no need to lie. You shouldn't have wandered off; had you gone much further, I wouldn't have been able to find you. You would have ended up alone and some sick, cruel soul would have taken you and killed you."

Ryoko shrunk in fear; he didn't want to die. His mother had far too often used that story, him being abducted and slaughtered, as a means of keeping him in one place. She didn't know any other way to keep him around; after his father left, he claimed to see fairies, animals, as if he had went insane, or was on the path to insanity, anyways.

Yes, his father had been a rather interesting person. He was kind, and he was never ill, but he went missing one day. Ryoko's mother always said he was meeting his own "Lotus Eaters, and his memories had long since faded away." This didn't fully grasp, Ryoko, however, and his mother smiled, eyes watering, the day he searched at every flower shop in town, looking for his father. Now, however, the child and his mother walked down the street, Maglev trains silver bullets racing throughout the city. People quickly walked down the street, all cocooned in their own affairs, having no time to notice those near them. There was an occasional collision, though apologies were briefly uttered, and in separate ways the travelers went. Ryoko didn't like this, however, as he was always taunted by blue-winged pixies and playful birds, none of which seen by any other human. Was it his imagination, or had people become so oblivious to the obvious details of life that secret wonders and little surprises that only he had noticed them?

"Ryoko, are you listening? Come on, inside," the orange-haired woman stated, tilting her head to the side as if to welcome her son. She was rather tall in comparison to most she lived around, though, in general, was of average height most anywhere else. She wore a necklace with an emerald stone that glistened as her eyes. The necklace was made of platinum, and it rested upon her bosom. She smiled as Rykoko entered the room, and closed the door, locking it not once, but thrice. Calm yellows and off-whites were everywhere, from the one couch within their humble abode to the soft yellows that formed hills of gold along the near-white canvas of the walls. Ryoko went upstairs as his mother walked over to a television and turned it on, watching the news or some other show Ryoko wasn't interested in. As the child went upstairs, he noticed it was dark, and his mother called for him to rest for the night.

Night was calm, yet, when nearly asleep, Ryoko saw another fairy, this one smiling and sitting on his nose. "Come with me, Ryoko. You can defeat what troubles your world. You can eliminate life of all negativity!"

(( Yeah... Part I. How is it?))
Part II: Of Monsters and Men]

"How can I get rid of all the bad stuff in the world? I'm 7."

"Your age doesn't matter to get rid of... Bad stuff. Your heart does."

"That sounds like something my mother would say for me to stop doing something"

The sprite hit Ryoko's nose, the air nearby lit by lightning-like fingers of energy. " Don't be so... I dunno, don't be so difficult! Do you want to come or not?"

Ryoko nodded. "Wait, though. I didn't brush my teeth yet."

The sprite sighed and waited as the child went to brush his teeth. "Be careful when you're there, Ryoko! The monsters in this realm aren't like the ones here. They aren't on little cards; they're real. The place you are about to enter is the Realm of Spirit Monsters."

Ryoko sighed, nodding. He looked at the sprite, toothbrush in mouth, and the sprite created a small flame, one which opened to reveal a small gate. The two stepped through, and suddenly the way from which they entered was no longer present, and the flames expanded, running further away from the two, until the disappeared. This new place was foreign to Ryoko, to say the least. It was a cave, stalactites dripping what seemed like water, though he didn't wish to drink it and see. They stood in a shallow river, one no more than four decimeters deep, and the sprite sighed, laying back on some phantom bed or other piece of furniture.

"This is my home," the little pixie stated, arms extended. "I decided to live in a cave because I have a little... Issue with fire."

"An issue fire?" Ryoko echoed, rubbing his eyes. "What do you mean?"

"I can't use my abilities that much. I'm a... pyromaniac, so to speak."

"A Pyrithmatic? Isn't that math?"

"What? That didn't sound anything like-- I like to burn things, okay?"

Ryoko yawned and nodded, not really caring. "Where do you sleep? I'm tired." The small child looked around, noticing there was little but a few small patches of moss. He could sleep on them, but he'd rather not. Nobody would disagree with that. He turned back to the pixie, who hand a hand running through her crimson hair as she thought of somewhere to spend the night. There weren't many places, though. The only nearby place with bedding like that of the child's was a small town known to be bothered by goblins. They often weren't dangerous, but since the boy was a human...

"Come on, Ryoko. We'll find you a bed. We're going to a small town run by the United Alliance. They used to be the United Resistance, but eh overcame those who previously ruled. They are somewhat like humans. They're almost exactly like them, really..."

The two walked out of the cave, following a path of broken stones and dead grass. It was a rather quiet walk, as the boy looked up, the sky dark yet alive. He could feel there were beings out there, some of which giving him an eerie sensation. He didn't speak of it, though, as the pixie beside him continued to move forward. Once near the city, Ryoko was reminded of some medieval tale. The city was surrounded by a monolithic wall. The gate that let people enter or exit the city was towering, made of different metals, including bronze, silver, and gold. A story was told by the delicate engravings that spanned the entire gate. It began with a small kingdom, though a corrupted leader came and oppressed all of his people. They slowly united, and ultimately, overthrew and killed the tyrant. As Ryoko read this, the gates opened.

{{*For some reason, indentation isn't showing. Anyone know what's up?

How do you duel if you're in the realm of spirit monsters? Cards don't work there, do they?

Just wait a few chapters and you'll find out.}}

Juudai is Zeus? That can't possibly bode well, no matter which Juudai it's referencing.

Anyway, this is more of a Theogeny than an Iliad, methinks, though it's definitely going somewhere good.

Anyway, it's an awesome-enough story for me to understand. Keep it up and I HOPE what you said earlier (Chapter Book-Chapter Long) is true.
