Jared cracked his neck, stepping back into the room, where the girl's electric aura had been noticed and everyone side-stepped her on their way out. "Hello, Jason. The name's Jared Black, son of Zeus," Jared said, "And I thought I was the last child for a few years, before she came along-" Jared said, turning to the girl, "What's your name anyway?"

"Carmen, Carmen Shows," she said, looking at him. "Sorry about that, by the way."

Jared cracked his back. "It's all good," Jared said, "Now come on, I've got to show you to your dorm. It's the big one, right behind the main school building."

Ross grinned at the sight of Jared getting thrown backwards. Honestly, Jared looked like a bully, and Ross hated bullies.

Ross went over to the undetermined line and filed out towards the Hermes dorm. This was going to be an interesting school year to say the least. If only someone would claim him.

Jason brushed off the simple way in which Jared turned his attention away; he got that from so many people anyway. Jason decided he would just make his way to his dorm, and see if he could find anyone he recognized. He immediately spotted the Athena guide, as they had been old friends, until a fight broke them up. Jason waved, the kid waved back, and Jason joined the small group that was waiting to head over to the dorm.

Shade sighed quietly and calmly walked out of the freshman orientation. He wasn't really surprised that Ares hadn't fathered any children since him and honestly he didn't care. As he walked, the oh so familiar clank of his heavy steel greaves on the ground could be heard for a fair distance around him. He simply made his way towards the massive black fortress which signified the Ares dormitory. He felt more at home there than he did anywhere else and saw no reason to hang around with the students who were still at or near the orientation building.

Jared walked straight out of the auditorium, walked straight toward the Zeus dorm, which shone in the midday sun. "Well, Carmen, this is the Zeus dorm. There's only 3 other people besides me, right now, but there should be more people in younger classes. What grade are you in?"

"8th," she said, making Jared spin around on spot.

"8th? You look like you'd be in my grade, or above," Jared said, looking at her. There was no way she was only thirteen.

"No, I'm 8th. Haven't been held back. I'm 13," she said, as if knowing that Jared's thoughts.

Carlos, having waited for the Freshman Orientation to be over from the roof, hopped down right in front of the child claimed by Morpheus. After looking him up and down with a smirk, Carlos reached into the past a little ways to grab the child's name. "Darn, then. Welcome to the Academy of Athena. Name's Carlos, son of Janus. You'll be in the Minor God dorm then." The smirk moved across Carlos' face, until it became an all out grin. "It'll be good to have someone staying with me. All the new ones who aren't claim stay with Hermes. Half of them have Minor Gods for parents who just don't care enough to claim their child. You're one of the lucky ones." Carlos turned around, and started walking towards a strange, mishapened cottage. It looked like it had been constructed by throwing together bits and pieces of architecture from many different time periods. There were Greek columns, Roman arches, even a few spires from what looked like a space station. Carlos, looking over his shoulder, noticed Darn wasn't following him. "You coming? Or would you prefer to stay with Hermes, among the unclaimed? It's not exactly pleasent there, I can tell you that." Carlos continued walking, suddenly not really caring what happened to Darn. Freshmen were so annoying sometimes.

Carmen stared blankly at the Zeus dorm, her black hair glinting slightly in the sunlight. "Isn't Zeus supposed to have had a lot of children?"

Jared stopped, turning around. "He did, at one point. I'd say he fathered a good portion of the Olympians, and a lot of minor gods. See, Zeus is very active to say the least, but the dorm is mostly empty for two reasons. The first is because he swore by the Styx he wouldn't have any more children, but I was the one who broke that for him. The second reason is because he is afraid of Hera, so he rarely claims a child, unless that child is skilled."

"So I was claimed because I'm good at stuff?" Carmen asked, not understanding, "But classes haven't even started."

"You're obviously a child of Zeus. You've got electricity flowing off of you," Jared said, "In case you hadn't noticed."

Jecht saw the Hermes kids and undertermined's filing out of the room. "Well, guys, bye I got some, buisness to attend to." He said running after the kids followed by two other Apollo kids. "Hey Dante! 30 bucks I win."

A red haired guy named Dante grinned. "YEah right. Your on, 30 bucks."

Then there was a blonde haired girl name Yukki who was smiling two. "Well, that's 60 dollars for me I guess."

Jecht and his friends always made bets on the undertermined kids. They would try and who's kids belonged to which god or goddess. "What makes you think, your gonna win Yukki?" Jecht said as the undertermined kids walked into the large dorm and they followed after unnoticed because of the large number of students.

Jared sat back on one of the leather couches in his dorm. There was only one other guy in his age, but three girls. All of them were pretty good at most of their classes, though some of them had been claimed because it was obvious, like Carmen. Jared's roommate, Brandon, was sitting back in his chair, playing with a little ball of electricity.

"Orientation was boring," Jared said, throwing himself onto a bed. "There's only one new student. She's like you. Can't really control her abilities all too well. But unlike you, she just glows electricity. Like a lightbulb."

"What grade?" Brandon asked.

"8th, she said. She looks like she's our year, though," Jared said, thinking back. "But, anyways, I'd rather not meddle with my half-sister's affairs. Have you seen the other dorms' students? Of course, that Aphrodite girl is going to win homecoming. But what use is having a homecoming game if there's only one other half-blood school in the states?"

Jecht, Dante, and Yukki all had a piece of paper and were scribbling things. "Ares." Jecht muttered.

"Nah, nah. He's more like a Hades." Dante protested.

"Whatever man, I'm getting sixty bucks."

"Yeah right." Dante replied while Yukki was in the corner determined to win. She thought shared what she knew would give them the answers so she just was looking around talking to herself.

"Hey, dude." Jecht said hitting Dante in the side. "This might sound wierd but, what do you think of Yukki?"

"What do you mean?" He asked not really paying attention just writing down names and what he thought was their god parent.

Jecht looked up from his paper. "You, know. As like, a girl."

Dante chuckled. "Ohhh, you mean, like a girl, girl." Jecht glared at him, saying he was 100% serious. Dante stoped his snicker and looked over at Yukki who had a strange look on her face, trying to deicide on what to put down. "WEll, she's nice I guess. Cute and everything but I never really thought about her that way."

Jecht smiled at him. "Yeah right." He said sarcasticly like he was sharing an inside joke.

"Shut up, man. One time. One time." He said shoving him with his shoulder, both of them smiling.

Meanwhile Yukki was looking from her paper and up to the undetermined demigods. "Aphrodite, Athena, some other frikin minor god."

"Jecht, Dante, Yukki!" a man said, walking up to them with a grimace on his face. "What have I told you about betting on where the undetermined campers go? Detention, all three of you. You'd be lucky if you had to fight the dragons again, with what you did last time. And hand over all betting slips."

Mr. Rouge was one of the strictest teachers at the Academy, and wasn't afraid to throw a detention at anyone who was breaking school rules. "If you're lucky, you'll get to clean out the Augean Stables."

OOC: Hitsugaya, accepted. Remember the rules.

Jared got up, walking to the large statue of his father in the front hall, where he gripped the lightning bolt, and the entire statue had an aura like Carmen's, how it radiated electricity. "Lord Zeus," Jared said, nodding at the statue, "Father. I pray to thee in earnest quest, that this will be the year I am assigned a quest. I've waited so long and nothing's come."

Jason stood in the entrance to his dorm. No matter what, it was still the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He stared, unmovingly, and then started. He walked over to the small temple dedicated to Athena, and knelt down. "Mother, I pray to you. Please...help me survive yet another school year, as you have last year." After a moment of prayer, he stood up, and began to make his way to the stairs that led to the individual dormitories.

A bell rung in the meal hall, signaling the start of another night's dinner, where the smell of mashed potatoes, steak, and mushrooms wafted out of the open-walled lunch hall, where 12 tables were arranged in two rows. The students could sit wherever, though most tended to stick with their own gods heritage.

The Hades table was not nearly as filled as the other tables, though the Zeus table was less crowded. Jared sat at the Athena table, talking with some of his friends from the previous year about quests they'd been on, and of course, all Jared could do was sit and listen to everyone's story of adventure as youths.

"Why, Father, must you torture me so?" Jared said, looking up at the ceiling, where a painting of the Olympians sat. "You could at least send some sign that I'll have one before I have to go and be a normal person."

"Sons and daughters of the three sons of Kronos are never normal," Chiron, the archery and history teacher said, looking at Jared. "You'll most likely become a monster hunter, if you survive long enough. Remember last year, how Moros guided that poor Hades boy to his death. That's too bad."

Jecht looked up an knew he was busted. "We weren't betting... we were..."

Dante jumped in. "We were just checking out the competetion. You know a majority of students are put into the Hermes dorm as undetermined. All those competitions and stuff we want to be prepared for what comin'. You know always have a plan just like Athena, sir." Dante made sure to add in the sir part because the only thing he loved more than torturing the kids was flattery.

Yukki had looked up and knew that they were caught. She ran up. "Oh, yes sir. Even thought Apollo may be our father, we admire Athena the most, she's so smart and always has a plan to win." She said in her high innocent girl voice. You knwo that's false Apollo... No offense to Athena or anything.

Mr. Rouge narrowed his eyes. "Detention, Saturday night. And I suggest you don't lie to your teachers from now on," he said to Dante and Yukki. "You're going to have a very bad punishment for that, indeed."

He walked toward the dining hall, cackling in his weird way. Jared saw him enter the pavilion and sat down in his chair, sliding as far down as he could. Mr. Rouge was the one who put Jared on suspension last year for using his powers.

"I'd bet he makes a good lightning rod," one of the Athena kids joked, looking at Jared, whose face was not showing any sign of laughter. "Fine," he said, looking down at his mashed potatoes.

The Ares kids were throwing around their trays like discuses, hitting each other in the head. "Idiots," one of the Athena kids said, to a general nod.

Both Dante and Jecht rolled their eyes but Yukki just looked around at the Hermes kids walking out to dinner. She walked quickly to them. "Were still on right?"

Jecht and Dante looked at eachother. "Definatly." THey both said smiling at the same time. Then they walked out of the dorm laughing. When they got to the dining pavilion Jecht saw Jared at the Athena table and knew he had a thing for Mr. Rouge. "Bye, guys gotta go do something." He said and walked over to Jared. "HEy dude! 'Member me. Well you should." He said clapping his hand on Jared shoulder. "What do you think of playing a little "prank" on Mr. Rouge?"

"Eh, I'm already on suspension from shocking that Ares kid last year. You see, the one in the corner with the twitch?" Jared said, pointing at the Ares table with his index finger, which made all the Ares kids who saw it jump back. "Sorry," he called, pointing his finger down.

"See, if I cause any trouble, I'm out," Jared said.

"Chiron likes you," another Athena students pointed out, "And the only reason he isn't the Headmaster is because the actual Headmistress is a daughter of Athena. She's my sister, essentially, but she doesn't care."

"Oh, C'mon. We both know your just itchin' to unleash some of that lightning on Rouge. Dude, as long as you don't slip up and you don't do nothin' stupid we can't get caught." He looked at the Athena students with their blonde hair and gray eyes. "And maybe we can get one of these smart Athenan kids to help us." He saw a girl who wasn't really paying attention but was drawing something on a piece of paper. He grabbed her hand and kissed it lightly. "Maybe this lovely lady right here?" and she blushed pulling her hand back slowly.

A paper airplane sails through the air, landing at Jecht's feet. The craft is well constructed, enough so that it may have come from any of the tables in the room. The craft contains two words scrawled across the front in large, looping letters: "Open alone." The paper itself is rather old, crumpled from many apparent uses. Oddly, the flight seems to have been timed so that none of the teachers were looking in the direction of the plane's path.

Brandon glanced at the girl, "Eh, please leave people alone. It's rude to surprise someone like that. I suppose that's Theseus in the Labyrinth, Marissa. It's a very good drawing, though this line here from where Jecht surprised you. Well, I hope you can get the drawing right."

"And, Jecht, I'd rather not share your detention," Jared said, pointing his finger under the table at Jecht's leg, sending of a ray of lightning, which singed Jecht's jeans. "Those, by the way, I'd get stitched."

"Na, na, na, na, na." Jecht said very childishly. "Now I can't talk to people? What am I under mouth arrest? Just 'cause your a child of the "Big Three" you think you can order people around?!" He said his temper and blood pressure rising. He looked down at his jeans admiring them. He flipped them to both sides. "THat's not bad acctually. A ripped, fried jeans leg." He laughed at himself. "Matches my very emo hair." He said holding up his long purpleish black hair THen for the first time he noticed the paper airplane. He picked it up. "Open Alone eh? Pfft." He uncrumpled the paper, looking at its contents.

Jared stood, looking at Jecht in anger. "Trust me, I doubt anyone here would care to go out with you, Jecht. I'm leaving."

Jared walked to the stables, pulling out an all-black horse, which simply stared at him with curiosity. "Okay, come on. We're going for a ride," Jared said, pulling out his bow, Kataigida, and got on the horse. "Come on, let's go into the forest for a bit."

Jared rode the horse into the woods, pulling a golden arrow from his quiver and tapping it, making it glow with electricity. He notched it on Kataigida and pulled back the string, when he heard a news. He turned on the horse, but the forest was silent. He aimed his arrow at a target, a large tree somewhat down the way with an X on it. He hit it bulls-eye, igniting the tree.

[spoiler=OOC]

Very sorry for my absence, been busy in real life. I'll keep up to date from now on.

James stood in the shadow of a large tree, watching Jared with the bow. He grunted, glaring at the show of power inherited from Zeus, and walked out where he knew he would be seen.

"Jared," he called out, his right hand twitching. "What are you doing out here all alone? Couldn't stand the attention?" he asked bitterly, a frown slowly settling intoa scowl on his face.
