Even if it's rumored, I'm all up for the DS's successor. The current generation obviously has more life left in it, but if it takes a long time to develop the new system, that will be great. Knowing Nintendo, DS2 is likely only the code name. I know it's time for a Pokemon's Generation V, but I'd like to see it being delayed until the release of the next system. That won't be the case of course, but I really wish there was even more consistency to game/console releases.

They need to stop making more DS. We just got 2 more versions of the current one, so to go and make a new version would be stupid on their part.

I don't want to wait for the next gen of pokemon. And, TBQH, odds are it's already close to being done since the they'll be out in about half a year.

It's the successor, not a new version.

I know, it still doesn't change that it would be bad. They just made 2 new versions of the DS, and so any one that might have ran out and got them is going to be pissed to find that a whole new version might soon come out. Not only that it would be bad for Nintendo because the other two upgrades will end up selling a lot less since their would be evn less of a reason to go out and buy them.

I don't see it coming out until at least Summer next year. It won't be coming out as soon as this Christmas... well, it might.

Actually, this will be after the XL.

But yeah, I think it's too soon for the next DS considering how the XL isn't even out in America. Let's see if they can delay the next system for at least two years before jumping the gun. The tilt function I don't know about, but it will be interesting to see it incorporated.

IMO the soonest they could release it would be a year and a half after the XL came out in Japan (I'm assuming that it would come out their first, and it would take time for it to come out in other places.). I think it came out about 6 months ago so summer next year might not be THAT bad. Still I we're getting word of it, it might come out within the year.
