PowerlinX
I don't think that's really fair, since a lot of members go to the introductions section. I think that maybe we consult with other forum administrators and create a "watch list" of I.P. addresses of spammers and stuff, then have a thread limit. Twig
Not to mention noobs always go to the Questions and Help thread. You and I have both seen spammers making several threads with useless garbage. So an idea came to my mind' date=' why not have it so that people need ~50 posts to make a thread? That way it makes spammers actually have to work in order to spam. Please lock if this has been tried before.[/quote'] I think it'll encourage them to spam to 50. Kaisu
Make that two. I agree with your idea, only make it 1 thread in intro limit.

Muluck
Alright, so lets get this straight. You want to limit the ability to make more than one thread by making a 50 post minimum restriction? Here's your problem. It's just plain non sense. If they can't make a thread, a place which allows them to type words and press a "Submit" button. Then they'll just post their "garbage" in posts. <-- Don't even try to argue against that, if you think about it you'll know I'm right. I am not trying to be rude or aggressive, just pointing out why I think your idea is ridiculous.
Luna Lovegood
Next you'll be saying "Let's make it so that people need 50 posts to post. I mean, so many spammers have less then 50 posts"
---------------
hmmm... unfortunately i dont support first of all, there are a lot of new members who will have great ideas when they start, or, if not, have a lot of questions. either way they will need to make threads... second, moderators dont have the time to crack down every spammer they come across. even if they did, spammers wouldnt make a whole spam spree. they would probably just post a spam-post here and there, until they reach fifty. thirdly, spammers wouldn't go through so much trouble just to post a thread. they have better things to do with their so called 'lives' lastly, there are ALWAYS going to be spammers. we shouldn't limit EVERYONE just because of them (although, there are special circumstances, like in the Contest forum) so i don't support sorry
