Lonk
Every week, I will make a review of a retro game that I have played on this thread. Here is how I will review each part: Gameplay, Graphics, and Sound by a number score (Self explanatory) Difficulty by a word score. The word scores are these: Too easy!, a bit easy, Perfect, a bit hard, This is impossible! Let the reviews begin! [spoiler=Review #1: Super Mario RPG] Introduction: I have played many mario rpg games, but this one is the best I have played. Before the review begins, I want to talk about the story: This game begins as any Mario game begins: Princess Toadstool (or Peach) getting kidnapped by Bowser and Mario needing to save her. Mario goes to Bowser's Keep to rescue the Princess. After meeting up with Bowser, Mario Beats him and rescues Toadstool, or so you thought. Instead of the same generic ending, a giant sword named Exor strikes the castle and sends the trio flying across the world. Mario ends up at his pad while Bowser and Peach fly to unknown locations. Along the way, Mario meets up with a cast of characters and explores the world. On the way, he meets up with Geno, Mallow, Bowser and Peach (who join his team). He will need all the help he could for this epic adventure. These are just a few screenshots to the game but enough of the talk, let's go to the crackdown. Gameplay: 10/10 This game is incredible! Controls are perfect and the story is amazing! This was literally, a game ahead of it's time. The genre of the rpg/action-adventure were synced perfectly in place. This makes, not only the battles fun, but just exploring fun as well. Graphics: 10/10 For an old game, the graphics are A-MAZING!!!! If you looked at the screenshots, you can see why. Designs are pretty colorful. The characters are well animated. The environments are all unique. This game's graphics have evolved incredibly well! Sound: 10/10 This game is amazing for many reasons, and one of these reasons is incredible music. The music is always upbeat and unique for every area. It makes you feel as though you are in that place at that time! Sound effects are pretty fun too. Who wouldn't want to hear a good ol' coin collect in a Mario game? Difficulty: Perfect Not only is the game really well played, but has a great difficulty as well! The battles are not too easy nor hard. It takes strategy to take on a game of this calibur. The reason why is because there are so many elements that challange you in every possible way, whether it is from memory, or preperation. Super Mario RPG gets a perfect for it's difficulty review. Overall score: A frickin' perfect 10/10! If you have any feedback for my reviews, post a reply.
