Tortoise Kyle
Ooc: Thank you Yae for posting longer.Spartan and Aragondom999, please make longer posts. Ic: Coralina walked along the river until she saw a large building along the horizon. That's strange, she thought, I can't have travelled far enough to find Fortree. Maybe they have something for me to eat.As she approached the building, she saw a worrisome looking scientist standing outside. "Hey, sir, is anything wrong?" She askedThe scientist noticed the girl and motioned her over. "Why, I seem to have lost my daughter! Can you help me find her? I'd be worried sick if anything bad happpened to her.""Sure, I guess." She answered, hoping he could give her food if she found the daughter. The she remebmered seeing a lonesome girl sitting under a tree while she was walking. "I think I know where to look. Let me go see." She told the scientist, and walked back off the way she came.Eventually she came to the same girl she saw earlier. "Hello, there." Coralina greeted, "Say, do you happen to have a father who is a scientist?""Yeah," the girl said lazily. "What's it to ya?" She asked."Well, your father was looking for you. He seemed awfuly worried.""That's my dad. Always worrying whenever I leave the Institude. My name's Rachael, by the way. What's yours?" She asked."I'm Coralina. Why don't we take you back to your dad now, and stop him from worrying."They walked together, discussing their lifes and such. Rachael was ten, and had just received her first pokemon, a Cacnea, from her mom. Once they got back to the Institude, Rachael invited Coralina in for some lunch (Coralina was very excited at this)."So, Coralina! I don't know how I could ever repay you for findding my daughter." The scientist proclaimed."Oh, don't worry. Lunch is far enough thanks." She said, a stray noodle descending from her mouth."Now, don't say that. Here, why don't you take this pokemon, she isn't too fond of the Weather Institude. It might be good for both of you if you take it""If you insist." Coralina replied. The scientist handed her a Pokeball. Coralina thanked him for the food and the pokemon, and headed back for her treehouse.
Clair
Clair felt a presence walking up behind her. She instinctively opened her eyes and was about to defend herself, when she saw it was just a weary looking traveler. "May I have some food?" he stammered, drooling a little. My God, he looks awful. Clair thought. He needs some help. "Sure, just sit down here..." she said, reaching into her cloak for more rice balls. "I'm Clair, by the way," she smiled at him. "What's your name?" She noticed the traveler had a PokeDex, and her eyes lit up. "Are you a Trainer?"
Spartan919
Jason saw the rice balls, and gulped. He sat down next to Clair, and winced as his leg bent. Damn, my ankle is killing me. He held his hand out to her, and smiled."My name's Jason. Thanks for the food, I know you need all of it for yourself. Yeah...I am a trainer. Are yo..." his voice trailed off as he saw the PokeDex on her belt. He nodded. "I hope it's okay that I'm taking food. Thank you again. Hey, maybe we can adventure together; how does that sound?" He still held out his hand. If she shook it, they would no doubt form a bond, and become good friends. He hoped that she would, so they could. Clair
Clair analyzed Jason curiously with icy-blue eyes. Does he really not know who I am? she wondered, incredulously. She had truly started over a new life here, and she liked it. He seems like a pretty nice person, Clair thought, smiling. "Help yourself, I don't eat much anyways." She gave him a warm smile and returned the handshake. "Yes, you may travel with me. I'll look out for you, if you look out for me." She called back her Dratini, who was napping peacefully, and started to get up, her black cloak swishing in the breeze, and stopped. Out of the corner of her eyes, Clair noticed Jason wincing. "Hey..what's the matter with you? Are you hurt?"
Spartan919
Jason nodded as he tore into the rice ball. At that moment, it was the best food he had ever tasted. He continued eating, until there was nothing left of the rice ball, and he was left licking his fingers, trying to retain some of that incredible sensation of flavor. After a minute, he stopped, remembering that there was a girl present. He blushed, and then laughed. When he stopped laughing, he said:"Yeah, I am hurt. I tripped in the forest, and I think I twisted my ankle. But please, don't worry about me. I'll be fine; besides, if anything tries to attack me, I've always got my good friend, Riolu." With a warm smile, he patted the filled Pokeball at his waist.
Clair
Clair stared at the boy eating before her, slightly revolted, and slightly amused. "I take it that you liked the food," she managed, and noticing the blush creeping in on Jason's features, Clair smiled. "What is a Riolu?" she asked, suddenly. "Is it some sort of new Pokemon?" "I have my Dratini. I used to have stronger Pokemon, but I've decided to start a new journey." she said, patting her belt. Part of Clair was itching to go to Oldale Town now, and to the Routes beyond. She hated sitting still for too long. "Are you ready to go?" she inquired, hoping that she wasn't rushing the poor kid. She stood back up and stretched, letting the warm Hoenn breeze touch her face.
Spartan919
Jason noted the confusion in Clair's voice when she asked about Riolu. "Here, let me introduce you to her." He stood, leaning on his temporary crutch. When he was standing, he reached down, and pulled a Pokeball out. He pressed the button, and his Riolu was released. She turned, saw Clair, and squeaked. "Ri-Riolu!" Jason laughed. "That's her way of saying hello," he explained. "I want to know, have you never seen any other Pokemon than..." he wracked his brain, "the...Kanto ones?" Then he remembered her question. "Oh, yeah, I'm ready. Let's get going."
Flaring Rose
Dom was fightning againts soem wild pokemon outside of the city. "Growlithe! Use Flame Thrower!" The Shiny Growlithe shot the flames out at the Butterfree. KOed it at the instant. "Bugs are too easy hey Growly." The Growlithe nodded before looking back at the city. "Yea I want the Electric badge aswell mate. We gotta train before we can get it. But I dotn even know what pokemon he has got."
Clair
OoC: Sorry for the delay Spartan, my computer flipped out. ^^' Clair smiled at the Riolu as it danced around her, squeaking happily. "Hey little girl," she said, kneeling on one knee, petting Riolu on the head with a gloved hand. She looked at Jason. "She's really cute!" She withdrew her PokeBall, and called out Dratini, who was immediately curious of the other Pokemon. They started chatting happily, and Clair laughed. They seem to be getting along well. she thought. Clair straightened herself, and yawned. "Let's go!" she called to Jason. Suddenly, Clair paused, and her eyes narrowed mischievously. "Try to keep up," she teased, as she strode along the pathway to Oldale Town, Dratini following eagerly behind.
Time Psyduck
"Well that was interesting," Tim muttered as he walked down the hill towards the small town. It turned out that Professor Birch had been in the same place as him the whole time, and not in his lab. Apparently he did a lot of fieldwork himself, since he only had one assistant, although his daughter helped him out as well. So he has a daughter, and one old enough to be a trainer, he pondered, He didn't seem that much older than me. I wonder if that means I should be settling down soon. Nah, fieldwork is too much fun. I don't blame Birch for getting out here once in a while. Birch hadn't any problems with Tim working within Hoenn - in fact he seemed rather pleased at the notion, although he'd asked for copies of anything he discovered, which seemed fair enough. Birch had also given him a lead on his other mission. "So she went to Petalburg Gym," he muttered, "guess we know where we're going next then." Tim soon arrived at Odale. It was a small place, so it looked like the pokémon centre was the only option, and even it was empty apart from him - although that wasn't so surprising at this time of day anyway. Although they mostly didn't need it, he turned his pokémon in to the nurse anyway, after all it had been a long way from Slateport, even if they hadn't been in many battles. Whilst they rested in the centre's haling facilities, Tim picked out a sandwich and drink from the machines and sat on one of the sofas. After eating his meal, he kicked off his boots and propped his feet up on the low table in front of him. Slumping lower into the seat, he pulled out a rather old and scratched pokédex and began to randomly flick though it, just to refresh his memory of what he knew lived around here. Flaring Rose
Dom saw a trainer appraoch him."Yes? What is it?" The guy looked at him with a deietful look."Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!" Dom looked confused and looked at his Growlithe before looking back up at the Trainer."Dude, Shut the f*** Up!" The guy looked at Dom before sending at a Mareep. And attacked his Growlithe. "Growlithe! Dodge his attack then use Flame Thrower!"The growlithe counterd the attack before then biting the Mareep. Then the mysterious trainer took his hat off. It turned out it was the Mauville City Gym leader. "OH MY GOD!" The Leader smiled before wabling his big belly. "Hello there Trainer. My name is Wattson, and i see that your a good trainer." Skarlet
Timmy'd scouted out the Battlefield well, along with his party, he sat down on a large rock, Mankey on his shoulder at this point. The pair turned their attention to the door, which they heard open, and there was the confident looking gym leader Roxanne. who along with the man who had previously greeted Timmy, walked over toward the battlefield. Roxanne strode up to Timmy and extended a hand."My name is Roxanne, Rustborro City Gym Leader." She spied Timmy's tags and her eyes darted as she read them. "Nice to meet you Timmy!" Timmy took the hand and shook it heartily, his was stronger then the leaders, but she too seemed strong. "You too." He smiled. "But honestly, I didn't come here for a meeting, I came for a battle!""So be it." Roxanne smiled and walked over to the other end of the battle field.the man, apparently the referee began to speak."This battle will be contested between Rustburro City Gym Leader Roxanne, and the challenger Timmy Croft. Each trainer will be allowed to use three pokemon. Only the challenger is allowed Substitutions."I choose you, Eggsecute!""You know what you're doing, Grass-Psychic type." She said sounding impressed. "Geodude, I choose you."
Dark Lightning
Daisuke watched as a bright and gracefully Jolteon blasted out of his pokeball. It looked up at it's master expectantly. Daisuke smiled warmly at the pokemon"Alright, Jolteon, Ya think you knock out those caterpie over there...?" he asked, knelling down beside the electric pokemon "Or...Could ya at least scar them away...?"Jolteon nodded and then took a breath; It held in air in it's chest, and then it let it all out in a huge 'ROAR'. Instantly, the Caterpie all grew fearful and fled. Daisuke smiled at this"Your getting much better at that..." he said to Jolteon.
Spartan919
Jason followed behind Clair, and watched as his Riolu conversed with her Dratini. He did a little hop-skip, and came up beside her. He smiled at her."So, how's your Dratini's training? It looks like it's really well taken care of; you must know your stuff." Jason hefted the backpack on his back. "All I've really got is my amenities, and Riolu's food. I hope you have enough food to sustain us until we reach Oldale.""Riolu!" Jason looked, and saw his Riolu plodding along beside him. She was motioning at the pack, and yelled out "Riolu!" once more.Jason laughed. "All right." He reached into his backpack, and pulled out a small pellet, a snack. He tossed it at Riolu, who caught it, and immediately ate it.
Clair
Clair started. She hadn't seen the kid walk up to her, and smiled. "Yes, I'm training it very well." she said warmly. "I've had experience raising dragons, you know." Upon being mentioned, Dratini raised her head and crooned. Clair then pointed toward the horizon with a blue-gloved hand and said, "Look, Oldale Town is right ahead. I don't think we need to panic." She beamed at the Riolu walking besides Jason, and laughed when the little Pokemon eagerly gobbled up the snack. "You could have eaten Riolu's food, instead of stealing mine," she teased. Suddenly, Clair came to a stop. Blocking their path were two sneering kids with baseball caps. "Hey, honey, wanna battle us?" one called. "Ditch the loser!" The two laughed like hyenas and slapped each other on the back.
Time Psyduck
With his pokémon healed, Tim decided head west to Petalberg as soon as possible. There was, however, a small problem. Well, a rather stout problem, actually. "Watch it! Don't stand on the footprints!" he shouted, grabbing Tim's rucksack and pulling him back. Thanks to the force of the tug, coupled with the bag's weight, Tim nearly toppled over, but managed to recover in time. "What?" he asked, confused. "There are the footprints of a rare pokémon here, and I want to draw them. You can go through when I'm done, but wait until then." "You know I could just-" Tim began, but then he looked at exactly what footprints were there. "Never mind, I'll come through later." He headed back into the centre of town, and, pausing by the Pokémon Centre, suddenly bust into a laugh. The footprints the man was drawing were obviously human. More than that, they were shoe prints, with treads. Even pokémon with shoe-like feet didn't have Clark's stamped into them. He decided he didn't mind being held up, if he got to see the man's reaction when he realised he'd been drawing someone's shoe print. Heck, they might even be his own. Still, Tim had nothing to do in the meantime, so having already stocked up on supplies, he wandered down to the southern edge of town. He looked out to Route 101, which headed south towards Littleroot town. He saw a group of people on the road ahead. The fact that there were four of them interested him, as he didn't think a route to a small town with no other destinations beyond it would be so busy. Standing on a ledge above the main route, those below seemed not to have noticed him. Two of them were children. They seemed to be friends with each other, although perhaps not the others. The other male was a teenager, who judging by how he was standing had twisted or broken his foot. As for the last one- "It can't be!" he muttered to himself. Is that really the Blackthorn gym leader? What on Earth would she be doing out here? Tim had only met the leader of the Blackthorn City Gym once, when he'd attempted to go for the rising badge. It was close, or at least he'd thought so, but he'd lost in the end, and with the summer coming to an end he'd had to leave Johto without trying again. Of course Jen beat her first time, but then she always was the better of us at battles, he mused, anyway, I don't even know if this is Clair. For all I know it's a lookalike, or just someone who happens to look like her. It's not like I know her well or anything.
Flaring Rose
Wattson then sent out a Raichu. Growlithe looked up Dom before Rnning in to the battle. "Growly! Use Bite!" Growlithe ran in and bit the Raichu on the leg. He quickly let go so he didnt get Shocked. "Now use Flame Thrower!!" Growlithe stood back and shot the flame out before the Raichu could use Thunder. The Raichu had a burn on her tail. It creped over the Raichu making it Faint."Wow, you are a good trainer.""Thanks. Iam going for some badges." Spartan919
Jason clenched his fist."Loser?! Looks whose talking! If you want to battle, then you'll have to go against both of us. I challenge you two to a tag battle!" Jason hoped that he would have the ability to uphold his challenge. If I can't beat these two, who knows what Clair will think of me? And then, if I can't beat them, Riolu won't be able to gain any training. Jason unclenched one hand, and pointed it straight at the first kid who had spoken. "You two are going to be defeated!" Then, in hesitation, Jason turned, and looked at Clair. "Do you think that we can take them in a tag battle, if we work together? I hope so; I can't wait to see what kind of actions your Dratini can make."
Tortoise Kyle
Ooc: Aragondom999, you are being kicked out of the Rp. Your grammar isn't the best, and your posts are barely long enough. Ic:Kyle looked at his sister upsettedly. She had snuck out from his performance, gotten something to eat without him, and caught a new pokemon. "So sis, what pokemon did you catch?" Kyle asked, masking his anger with curiosity. Coralina reached for the new pokeball in her belt and sent out her new pokemon."Castform!" It gleefully shouted. "Aw, look at how cute it is!" Coralina said to her brother, who was checking his pokedex for the new pokemon's info. "My pokedex says that your Castform knows Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Hail, and Weather Ball." Kyle stated, and then muttering how he wanted a Castform under his breath. "How about we test it's battling capabilities, then?" "Hah! I'm sure it could beat any of your pokemon. Castform, you ready?"
Dark Lightning
Daisuke then held out Jolteon's pokeball"Return.." he stated simply. He then turned to the road ahead. It was beginning to get a bit dark, but this didn't bother Daisuke at all. He turned towards Arcanine and smiled. "Arcanine!" barked the anxious pokemon. Daisuke laughed a little and then he climbed onto Arcanine's back"Alright, let's go buddy..." Daisuke laughed. Arcanine immediately took off. ~~~The pokemon jumped over large logs gracefully as it carried Daisuke on it's back. Suddenly, he saw a few people up ahead. "Let's stop here, Arc..." he whispered to Arcanine. It nodded and then it stopped. Daisuke kept his distance from the people. He noticed that they carried pokemon. He examined the situation and then pulled out his pokedex. "Interesting..." he muttered "Seems like a tag battle...This will be exciting..."Daisuke then rested on Arcanine's back and watched the battle that was about to occur. Clair
Clair smirked at the two boys and smiled reassuringly at Jason. "Don't worry, they won't stand a chance against the both of us," she said, loud enough for the two boys to hear. "Hey honey! We're not leaving without a fight!" one of them called, sniggering. Clair looked at them icily, revolted. "If it's a fight you want, then it's a fight you'll get," she said calmly, through gritted teeth. She pulledup her gloves, and turned to Dratini. "Okay, Dratini. You're up!" Dratini looked at her solemnly and growled at the ruffians, who broke into more guffawing. "You call that a Pokemon?" one of them chuckled. "Go, Makuhita!" "Don't forget me! Go, Machop!" The two pokemon leered at Dratini, who stared resolutely back. The boy whispered something to his companion, causing both to snigger again. "Hey, girl," one called, "if we win this, you're coming with us, and leaving the loser. If you win, we will never bother you again!" They broke out into fresh gales of laughter at their proposition. Clair clenched her fists angrily, and looked over at Jason, who looked determined. "Very well," she called. "We accept your little wager." "Jason, let's beat these losers," she said confidently, smiling at him. "There's no way we're going to lose!"
Spartan919
"You got that right," he said to her. He pulled out his Pokeball. "Go, Riolu!" His Riolu came out, and stood next to Dratini. "You better believe that you're going down, punks." Jason gave a small laugh. "Clair, whatever happens, we must stay strong. And I don't care what he says; I'm not going to let those two take you away. I will fight them if I have to." Then he turned to the two other trainers. "You two better be ready for the worst whopping you've ever gotten." Jason clenched his fists, and looked at Clair, a fierce determination filling his eyes. Clair
"That's what I like to hear," Clair said, giving a half-smile towards Jason. She turned back towards the laughing boys, and spoke coldly. "You call yourselves Trainers? More like common disgraces. We have a will for battling and respect for one another, unlike you two, who battle for selfish reasons. Well, good always triumphs over evil..." Clair smirked, and then hissed "...so prepare to be crushed." "Dratini, use a Thunder Wave!" Sparks flew from Dratini's body. Machop managed to dodge, but Makuhita was hit, and shaken. "Dont just stand there!" the boy screamed at Machop. "Use Karate Chop!" Machop charged towards Riolu, arms raised. Makuhita was still shaken, as was his owner.
Spartan919
Jason shouted out. "Riolu, dodge the Machop's attack!" Riolu dodged around the Machop. "Now, use Quick Attack!" Riolu nodded, a grim determination setting in her eyes. She braced her feet, and took off after the Machop. As she neared it, she laid her head down. At the last minute, the Machop dodged the attack. "That's okay, Riolu. Now use Force Palm!" Riolu yelled out "Ri", and her hand began to glow. She swung it at the Machop, and landed a solid hit. The Machop flew back, but quickly got back up. Right, fighting against fighting. That doesn't work too well. Riolu came at the Machop again, and the Machop braced, waiting for Jason's Pokemon to close in. Clair
Clair beamed at Jason. He was holding up rather nicely for a newbie. "Dratini, try an Extremespeed on that Makuhita!" Makuhita looked shocked as Dratini just...disappeared. Suddenly, the dragon materialized from behind the shaken Pokemon and rammed it, sending Makuhita flying, over Jason's shoulder. Clair laughed. "Makuhita!" the trainer exclaimed. "You're not done! Focus Energy!" To Clair's surprise, Makuhita leapt back onto the field, reenergized. "Makuhita, Cross Chop!" Makuhita flew towards Dratini and tried slashing an X into her with his gloves. It was a hit, and Dratini flew backwards towards the second boy, who pushed it back into the field, smirking. Clair gritted her teeth angrily. "Dratini! Use Thunder Wave!" Once again, the sack-like fighting type Pokemon was incapacitated.
