Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 1 [APPROVED]

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 2 [APPROVED]

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 3 [RENEWED*] *Filler arc needless and presents variety of strange events. Approved over objections of other council members.

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 4 [APPROVED*] *Filler arc needless and contradicts some canon' date=' but still awesome.

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 5 [APPROVED']

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Season 1 [DENIED] *Council unanimously rejects subject on grounds of unmitigated awful.

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Season 2 [DENIED] *Council unanimously rejects subject on grounds of unimitigated alien dolphins. Improvements have been made, product remains rejected.

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Season 3 [APPROVED] *Shocking turn from previous seasons. Presents mature themes and some awesome stuff. Some new side characters badly designed and/or implemented, some poorly played duels, ultimately not detracting from experience.

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Season 4 [APPROVED] Continues to ride previous high. Problems with filler episodes, but a strong showing from Mr. T (who pities the fool) and epicJudai (who OTKs the fool) complete a solid dueling experience.

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Season 1 [DENIED]

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Season 1.5 [RENEWED] *Fortune Cup cliched and somewhat dull, but a variety of decks and duels improve the experience. We expect better.

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Season 1.8 [APPROVED] An extraordinary showing! Keep up the good work!

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Season 2 [APPROVED] New plot seems strange and villains odd, to say the least, but we'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Season 2.5 [DENIED] Worst showing since Season 1 of GX. Crashtown started off bad but ended within sight of watchability. Kiryu saved it, and we all know it.

 

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Season 2.8 [APPROVED] This was a difficult call, but ultimately approved over some objections due to Yusei vs. Placido. You are now abominably screwing your own canon with Scar-Red Nova, and Operation: Capture Jaeger II and its accompanying episode could single-handedly trash a lesser franchise. Please turn that around, pronto!

I think people would like to see the 'first' series of Yu-Gi-Oh/Season 0, even though is a lack of Duel Monsters, not that I cared when I saw it, I just liked Another Yugi's (Mou Hitori No Yugi (I think the Japanese is) commonly they called 'Yami'/Yami No Yugi) 'craziness', I did really love Monster World.

GX: sheet! I knew they shouldn't start a new season, and I was right, it sucked big time, stupid students, gay teachers, rip offs (Raviel, Uria, and the other one for example)

5Ds: oh that's already shame! funking grown idiots ride on motorcycles and play card games on the same time! with all these new and unoriginal Synchros.. \: (everything's IMO)

I like Chronos alot....annoying how the dub tore him apart.

 

The D-Wheels give extra means to play, extra game play. And crashes lots of crashes thanks to a certain Mr. Atlus.

extra means to play? kill me, now.

I can think of a better and less idiotic game to play which is based on Yugioh.

I have to say that 5D's is the best series for me. The artstyle is a serious improvement IMO, it has characters that arn't flat cardboards, the villian's weren't just as generic as usual, there's actually some...*gasp* character development, the music is a threat to listen to and it didn't take forever to finish duels. I also liked the variety of the rules in Speed duels.

 

Unfortunatly, I can't say the same thing about Season 2. It basicly lowered it's level to yugioh DM, which is NOT a good thing.

 

I actually found the dubbed version of DM more bareable than the Jap version, because atleast you can get a good laugh out of the hilarious stupid edits they made in the script and the music is actually really nice. Gotta love Joel Douek.

 

Both versions of GX were just bad.

DM is the best, imo. Maybe it's because of nostalgia filter, but I felt it had some of the more memorable characters, duels, and arcs. I feel like watching the Battle City arc again, actually.

 

I disliked GX, maybe because it felt too different from DM. I really only liked Syrus and Zane (kinda), but I hated Jaden and most of the other cast. "Duel Academy" also sounded kinda stupid.

 

5D's... I've watched like 4 or so episodes, so I won't judge it, but I can say it's better than GX.

For the silliness of the D-Wheels, the technology became ridiculous with the Battle City duel disk. The original model should have been used as an alternative on-the-go game with the manga version's rules with the duel arena's used for tournament storylines. Personally, I liked the manga duel arenas, where the players played at a table.

 

 

GX had a weak start with the Shadow Riders arc. The Shadow Riders were all stale and forgettable, except for Don Zaloog and Amnael. I liked the plot twist with Banner being a villain. Kagemaru was a joke villain. The Society of Light was a nice storyline.

 

5D's Dark Signer arc felt like a rehash of the Doma arc, but much better and fitting into it's story. Season 2 feels like GX season 2, with major plot points followed by pointless throwaway episodes.

 

I alternate between the 3 series depending on the day.

YGO is a series of 27 episodes where Duel Monsters/Monster And Wizards is not the central game, it consists of a lot of Yami No/Shadow Games. Mental pain and 'death' are key themes in the series, the manga sounds more enjoyable of it than the anime. It's where Monster World and Capsule Monster Chess originated.

I honestly haven't ever heard of what you're talking about Yin. I'll be sure to look it up though...wink.gif

Amongst the other 3, I actually liked only Duel Monsters. I don't know why, maybe because I used to watch it as a little kid, before I got to the Card Game...

The other 2 seem to be only repeating the story...A character that never loses, with a loser friend, someday he loses in a big duel blah, blah, blah...(at least in GX, I haven't actually watched much of 5DS, and it's been a long time since I last watched any of them apart from YGO the Movie...)
