Shalltear Bloodfallen
I came up with this idea a little while ago and I’m curious if it’s possible to actually make something out of it.Please have patience, I am not used to writing like this.
There seemed to be no end to the rain that had poured down for days straight, creating a loud rattling sound when the raindrops hit the ground. In a valley, miles away from even the slightest form of civilization and surrounded by wildlife, a renegade wizard, dressed in a black travelling robe, almost completely soaked by the eternal downpour, a hood that hid his face and mud splattered leather boots, had set up a makeshift camp, existing of nothing more than a campfire that had been extinguished by the rain, and a tent that had been patched up several times but still it was full of holes.Clutching hard to a staff about the same size as him, with an eerie glowing blood red ruby on the top. With its help he summoned all kinds of horrific beings, both known and unknown to man.But he sent them back to whatever realm they came from the next moment."Incredible, whatever creature I imagine, an exact version of it appears next to me" The wizard thought, grinning mischievous while sending another creature back to the dark and far away reaches of his mind."It is more than enough proof that he spoke the truth, now I can finally set my plans into motion." He was happy, almost ecstatic with the rouse his power gave him. But it was quickly snuffed out when he felt a familiar presenceat the edge of his mind. He didn’t even care to lower the rest of his mental defences, Shalath had and could easily break through them."I see that you have finally admitted to your self that I wasn’t lying" The deep voice of the king of the underworld echoed in his mind. "How did you know? I have kept my mind completely sealed from everyone except myself" The wizard replied slightly confused. "I would have at least felt your presence if you were watching me". A deep and evil laugh echoed in his mind"You forget that my power goes far beyond your wildest dreams, human, you only manage to feel my presence when I allow it"."How long have you been watching me?" The wizard asked, feeling slightly insulted by the knowledge of having been watched by a completely different consciousness from inside his own, and not knowing that it happened."I have hung around in here ever since we made the deal, I do not like leaving people with powers that they have yet to truly earn.""Which leads to why I revealed my self to you, it is time for you to fulfil your part of our deal, or else I will take great pleasure in striping the powers I granted you from your immortal soul, a process few of you mortal beings manage to survive" The dark voice belonging to the underworlds ruler. The wizard knew this day would come sooner or later. But he wasn’t afraid. He was happy to finally be freed from the blasted thing that did nothing more than prolong his plans to the infinity. "Take it, I have no use for it anymore" He replied coldly and hardened himself for the pain that was about to come when his soul was separated from his body.____________________________________________________ A renegade wizard have abandoned not only his convictions, but also betrayed the whole human race by selling his soul to the king of the underworld, Shalath, for the powers of being able to summon any creature he wish into the world as we know it.What he does not know is that the creatures he summon are created from fear in its purest form, from its very essence and shaped by Shalat´s own hands. Striking terror in everyone they see and with only one goal, open a gateway to the underworld so Shalath can take over the world. The races of the world must now conquer fear itself or see their beloved planet slowly plummet into the hands of Shalath.
Beasts from the world bellow] He had never believed in the stories about the nightmare wolves.Black furred and rabid creatures that only showed themselves at midnight and their behaviour and looks gave made them look like a really bad nightmare, hence the name, acting purely on instinct, killing without so much as a second thought .Even though several farmers lost cattle on a daily basis to a Nar-ch, as they called them, a curse roughly meaning Hell beast in the demon tongue from the small parts the humans had learned. The stories about the wolves never truly convinced him. But the nightmare wolves were among the top pests in the kingdom, hated by every farmer, and the stories about their race being passed down through generations. He had never truly believed in a beast like that actually existed.Until now. A big, black furred wolf was outside, slowly searching the empty streets and alleys for any kind of life that was foolish enough to be outside in its presence, completely unaffected of the raging storm outside, and somtimes you could hear it snarl. Like many times before, the lights were out and movement needed to be minimal. The nightmare wolves were said to hunt by sound and smell.A lightning bolt struck nearby, momentarily illuminating the outside and revealed that it wasn’t only one but a whole pack of wolves with black, blood splattered fur, full of tufts, that systemically searched every corner of the streets. They were not looking for food, they were too organized. They were looking for something or someone specifically. When the sound finally caught up, which did not take long because the lightning had struck nearby, a booming sound wave passed through everything and made the wolves recoil heavily like they actually got hit by the lightning bolt itself.Giving proof of a highly developed sense of hearing. It was only thanks to his massive self control that he did not start to panic when the wolf stopped outside his door, clearly showing interest in what was behind. The only illumination he had was the dim light from a candle that he which he kept lit, completely against the measures you were supposed to take when a Nar-ch attacked the town, if you could call it an attack when almost every citizen did not challenge fate and stayed inside. The occasional daredevil that fooled himself into thinking he could kill a Nar-ch, was the only thing that kept the wolves interested in human flesh and when a Nar-ch gains a interest for anything, it keeps it. A sword hung in a black leather and metal scabbard at his hip, well-cared for and well used,A memento from his time as a member of the royal army, and ready to be used if the wolf would somehow manage to break in. This town was small, compared to the capital, and it was the sole reason why he had choosed to start a life there, far away from anyone that knew his name.Raek Stormblade, the most fearless and bloodthirsty soldier the royal family had seen in quite a while. From the moment he joined the royal army, he skyrocketed from soldier, or cannon fodder as he called them, to High General, reaching that rank in the shortest time anyone had before him.His thoughts were cut short by the sound of wood breaking and a loud howl. The wolf had broken through the door and did obviously not plan on searching alone for whatever or whoever they were looking for.Raek drew his sword and prepared for an intense fight.
Shapeshifters, dangerous for a reason]The wolf slowly stepped through the broken wooden door and stepped over the wood splinters that had spread over the floor, carefully examining the house. When the wolf noticed Raek, it slowly rose on its hind legs and snarled both threatening and warning, obviously unfamiliar with fighting in that position, with its front legs and razor sharp claws free to attackand its bloodshot eyes showing a bloodlust few had seen before and lived to tell about. Raek was already prepared for the fight of his life, holding his double edged sword made from the finest steel in the kingdom, well taken care of but bore several signs of frequent use, in a defensive stance across his face. The handle was slightly larger than one hand wich made it possible for him to hold it with both hands now when he didn´t have a shield and one hand when he did have a shield. Another lightning bolt struck the ground and a gust of wind extinguished the candle, now his only illumination was the dim light from the outside. With a loud battle cry he charged forward, swinging the sword with full force, already feeling the rouse of adrenalin. How he had longed for that feeling, how he had longed to quench his thirst for blood. It was easily blocked, it didn’t even cut the skin of the arm that blocked the sword. Something that surprised Raek. His sword usually cut through flesh like a hot knife in butter, but this was like steel against steel. The wolf retaliated by simply attacking the only way it could, using its claws to shred Raek while at the same time block any attempts at an attack from Raek. Raek did the same with his sword, eventually leading to a fierce fight but nothing more than a standstill, neither side gaining any advantage while the fight slowly moved out to the empty street, while the storm seemed to release its full rage on the environment, tearing through buildings and leaving nothing unharmed, and the other wolves were nowhere to bee seen. They were both being worn down quick, neither of them leaving any openings in their defences, nothing even a Nar-ch would manage for a long amount of time. But whatever the creature was, it was far from this realm and slowly changing its appearance from a wolf to a fiend that would make everyone tremble in fear, growing horns, wings and rapidly turning more humanlike. A Raggoth, the only known creature to master shape shifting, a talent that was really uncommon in these parts of the kingdom Antaea. But the most noticeable change being two equally sized black flames shooting out from its palms that turned into two swords. Raek released his full fury in a overhead slash that the Raggoth easily blocked and pushed back, resulting in Raek dropping his sword, the second later the Raggoth pointed its other sword to his throat, inches away from killing Raek. “I must admit, you put up a good fight, human” The words were drenched in gloating and self pride, “But now it is time to… “The never finished the sentence, it was dead before it could. The tip of a sword stood out from its chest and the corpse of the Raggoth fell forward before it self ignited, the flames not being extinguished by the rain and eventually nothing was left except ashes that the raging wind quickly spread neatly across a mile wide area. Were the Raggoth once had stood a man, dressed in loose fitting black leather clothing that had been drenched by the rain, hiding his eyes with a mask that only showed the eyes. With a twirling motion he sheathed his sword in a leather and iron scabbard.“Your lucky that I got here in time, Raek. I thought you decided to hide here to get away from fighting.” The self-righteous tone sounded familiar.“And when I finally find you, you are locked in combat with a Raggoth”Raek slowly stood up, turned around and picked up his sword that he sheathed.“I guess I owe you a “thanks for saving my ass, Teret” He said with a smile.“Right as always” Teret said with what seemed to be a smile, something that Teret rarely did. Twig
You had several spelling errors, but that's not a big deal. The prologe was interesting but short. I'll keep an eye on this.
Shalltear Bloodfallen
Parts I Uppdated/Changed or FixedI tried stretching out the prologue a little and adding some details.I also fixed any spelling errors I could notice. Thanks for the positive review Twig :).I was really tired when I wrote the prologue (And right now, I seem to write better when i´m tired for some reason) and English isn’t my main language. So please do not judge me to hard if spelling errors should reappear. And I’ll do my best to stretch out things but still keep them interesting (The main reason why the prologue was short) Working on Chapter 1 right now.Should be finished tomorrow hopefully.
