Respect your elders.

You hear that a lot' date=' but it's something that everyone should follow.

I respect all those who are older then me, and hope that those who are younger will respect me at the same rate.

Sure, adults can be pretty out of the times we are in right now... but they know best.

Sorry, but I lol'd.

I dont see why. It's likely much of our experience comes from what we've seen rather than done. And everything is based on actual done experience in the "Real World". No matter how much we think we know, they know more. Maybe not the Technical Aspect, but everything else they are better.

So suck it up, your parents are smarter than you. Whether they're able to verbalize it or not (as Ive seen many adults be right about a lot of things but I think they're wrong because they're not able to articulate [is that the word] as to why when I was dead wrong).

So I hope that lol, is out of how unknowing your statements are .-.

Are you saying Zex isn't awesome?

Blasphemy.

It depends on the parent and how they were as a kid I guess. I'm extremely creative while my parents aren't in the slightest. I couldn't see myself in ten years with no imagination, in fact I would think my imagination would be GREATER than it is now. >_>

Adults CAN be annoying but then so CAN kids.

Not all Adults are bad, if your like me and find a group of intellectuals who you can relate with and the Adults feel comfortable around you, then you should be just fine. Although if you get along better with Adults than Kids, expect School to be the thorn in your rear, this is just my personal experience talking though.

The only thing wrong with adults is their lack of intelligence.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying that all of youse kids are smart. But I feel you will grow up to be smarter than your parents are now' date=' yet grow up to be stupider than you are now.

So what, do we live in the Simpsons or something? >_>

But anyway, I like most adults I know, except for 2 of my teachers. They both barely teach us anything.

You don't understand what I was lol'ing at.

The fact that she said you should respect your elders is funny. Because I see no reason to treat your elders any different than you'd treat your classmates.

If it's a matter of intelligence, I don't treat the kid who gets F's any different than the kid who gets A's.

Exactly.

If everyone were to act like their parents were breathing down their necks like they were when they were kids, then there would be a very small crime rate. The issue is bad parents. Those wh don't care, those who let them do what they want, those who neglect, etc. Those are what make bad people, which is often an issue.

Matter of fact, being "in the times" isn't their job, it's to make sure you don't get too caught up in the times. Matter of fact, I probably live in an old school world. No Kesha or Lil' Wayne for me, I'll take a good dose of ZZ Top, AC/DC and Aerosmith.

Children are the equation. Adulthood is the result. Children are the mold. Adults are the statue.

Adulthood is not the end of all good. Adulthood is the beginning.

No it's not... In Hawaii, respecting them is a cultural and personal thing. Much of it based on what Infinitus said. You respect them, so that they have the smile (not just motivation) to show you a greater path, that you may one day carve for yourself.

I hardly see whats funny about that.

And can you be certain that the path they are showing you is the 'correct' path? They are adults, not omniscient, omnibenevolent beings. They are just people, and they could very easily make a mistake and send your life down a spiraling staircase of doom and depression.

Just keep your mind open to other's opinions before you take a super-firm stance on anything.

And you read better. Like everything else that may be considered an influence (this includes the Bible oolala) assuming you take it in portions and absorb what you want' date=' while still caring for the rest in some way; even if you yourself don't bother with it, you're still bettering yourself.

It's not, not being open to your opinion. It's calling yours horribly confusing since you [i']appear[/i] to only making it worst on yourself. I don't know if its poor word play or not though.

So you are telling me to listen to me parents only when they say something I actually want to hear?

Maybe I'm sleepy, or maybe your posts are incoherent.

Let me remind you that this back-and-forth discussion is about adults and blah blah blah, not about influences.

And if you are talking about parents being influences, refer to the first sentence of this psot.

Wow, and I thought this would never be posted, lets just some it up, hope fully.

Kids: You all know that you are growing and got of alot of imagination and need to undesrstand that parents are loving, caring, and honest, well half of them. The other half can be ranged in a lot of different places.

Parents: Parents need to understand that the kids imagination runs wild and is invigorous to you. Even if they annoy you, you know the concept to love them back for they are your parents.

So I may have that backwards, but all that is needed to understand, love, play, enjoy for both parents and kids.

And I may be 19, but that still makes me a teenager, not an adult. I'm a kid at heart and always will be. Thats why I'm here, to enjoy and play yugioh.
