[Cake] THUNDER! THUNDER! THUNDER! [Round 1 up!]

As you may have guessed, this is a contest revolving around Beast-Warrior Thunder-type monsters.

EDIT: Also, this is a celebration of my having 2000 posts.

This is a three-round contest. The rules are very simple:

1. Don't spam. Post your card, and that's it.

2. Don't get angry with me or the other judges if you fail to continue on to another round.

3. Enjoy making your cards.

ROUND 3:

Really, seeing as how this contest has lost a LOT of steam, I'm just going to be lazy and say make a Thunder-type boss monster. It can be for an existing Archetype (Batterymen, Elec), the archetype you already made, or whatever you want. 1 card, 1 boss monster.

END DATE: 11 APRIL 2010

[spoiler=Card Criteria]

Now, the form is going to be a bit different from your usual contest, so bear with me here:

Picture: /5

Effectiveness: /10

Readability: /10

Originality:/5

So, the total is /30.

Picture: Is the picture over-used? Does it fit the card? Does it look like it fit in the Card Maker?

Effectiveness: A.k.a playability. Would you run this in any deck? In a dedicated deck? In any deck at all?

Readability: I'm not going for strict OCG here, but good enough so that the effect is clearly understandable. You may request that a contestant post lore for their card if need be.

Originality: We all know nobody can conjure up effects that nobody has seen before consistently. What I'm looking for here is how blatantly a card rips off another. The less so, the more points.

Finally, the cost is 10 points a person, and the winner gets 4 reps. This can increase to 6 reps if enough people join.

Judges:

1.~Oracle Until he/she PMs me explaining why he/she didn't respond to MY PM.

Picture:

2/5 - Pop Culture is an irk of mine - at least it's thunder-ish. Same goes for the real-ish pic on card#2.

Effectiveness:

#1:

2/5 - Anything based around Summoning a level 7 thunder-type and then equiping it with something specific is hugely inconsistent. The ineffectiveness of the card supported means that this would have to be a consistency-helping card rather than a power card to be useful.

#2:

3/5 - Field with built-in protection is nice. It supports Elecs great. I thought this was supposed to moer specifically support the submitted cards' date=' and it doesn't much, so points lost there.

Total:

5/10

Readability:

8/10 - Errors, but nothing that I couldn't read.

Origionality:

3/5 - The second one dragged this down a lot for just being ATK&Summon, but the first seemed to at least have an origional idea behind it.

Total for RoxasReaper:

18/30

Raymond5577:

Picture:

4/5 - I like them both. It's hard to numerically rate pictures. Not 100% yugioh feel, though.

Effectiveness:

#1:

0/5 - There isn't really anything that benefits from treating things as Thunder and the first effect is just Sakeretsu, which is outclassed by Mirror/D-Prison. Outclassed = 0 because the entire card becomes pointless.

#2

4/5 - The last two effects aren't that helpful, but the protection effect is nice. It's a shame this card cannot protect itself and would probably need Bribe/ect to back it up, but it's definately usable in some Decks with Thunders. Elecs could be seen with it.

Total:

3/10

Readability:

9/10 - Feel the first card could have been worded better, otherwise fine.

Origionality:

3/5 - Dragged down by the first card which is a Quickplay Sak.

Total for Raymond5577:

20/30

Sephiroth_The_Legend:

WHAT. I don't care about the criteria I'm taking 4 points away NOW for re-making Yata but making it a 1900 ATK LIGHT with added Doomcal.

[b']-4 for unacceptable capacity for lockdown.[/b]

Picture:

5/5 Won't complain - Looks Yugiohish and no major flaw I can see.

Effectiveness:

#1:

4/5 I think this was addressed already? Only supports the made cards by form of insane lockdown. For not being Thunder-Type, I'm taking 1 point. But since this is effectiveness instead of balance, I can't say I wouldn't run it.

#2

2/5 Feels woefully inconsistent. Still works, though.

Total:

6/10

Readability:

8/10 - seems to be a fair amount of un-needed wording.

Origionality:

4/5 - I like the second. Point lost for the first card being Yatacal, but still origional enough.

Total for Sephiroth_The_Legend:

19/30 - was luckily good overall, otherwise would have been out due to the "You fricking made Yatacal" penalty.
