"It's not that weird, the finals of Duelist Kingdom and Battle City were just that, Shadow Duels. If that is what happened, we should try to keep an eye out on the freshmen, should they be caught in something like this they would probably lose. Besides, this guy was good, but it seems to me like this guy is just a henchman, working for someone else. If this guy drained you, imagine what the main guy could do."

"I'm not even saying that it was a Shadow Duel for sure. I'm really just throwing ideas out there... I'm just as much of a skeptic as you are Isumi, but when something irrational happens, the most likely answer is something just as irrational." Zeraius reasoned. He tried to save himself by talking himself about how unlikely the idea is, but to be honest, magic and Millenium Items didn't seem so farfetched now that he met the Lightsworns. They themselves were part of that realm.

Leon pulled out Zombyra the Dark, who immediately joined them, standing behind him. "I wonder if Zombyra might be able to tell us anything." Without talking, Zombyra pointed outside, Leon looked and saw a hooded figure standing outside looking inside." Zerius, did he look like that guy?" Leon pointed outside to where the figure was standing.

"Such a sweet winter... Mom...Dad... where are you? Moom?...Daad??...

Is this... a duel? Dad... are you dueling?... who's that guy?... dad you lost?... wait, where are you going? dad... mom..."

Your parents are mine now.... welcome to the shadow world...

***

Azrael opened his eyes. He was meditating, but, he had that weird vision of the day when he lost his parents... the only thing he remembers about that night was that he entered to his house but he passed out... everyone tell him they were murdered... he believes so.

"You had that vision again Azrael?" the voice of Dark NEcrofear said while appearing infron of him...

"You know... it's funny, I don't know why I have this visions, even knowing that I'm part of the Shadow Duels... It's funny..."

Azrael said to Dark Necrofear.

Suddenly, a strong wind blew and opened the window. While Azrael and Dark Necrofear stare looking at the window, a hooded guy enter to the room. The guy had a necklace with a Cross as a pendant in the hand.

"So... it seems that you accomplished you're work..." Azrael said to the hooded boy "... Impressive.. that guy has such energy... is impressive... this Vitalia... is what we need Dark Necrofear"

"So... you think that with this, we can call them back?" Dark Necrofear questioned "Not only call them back, maybe we can make them better... or even return the body of Amnael"

"Hope the others one get the Vitalia of the others duelists..." Azrael said...

The hooded boy suddenly dissapear and leave a fragment of a black pearl and the card of Nurse Reficul, the Fallen One. Dark Necrofear just smile to Azrael and dissapear.

"Time to visit them thought" Azrael said and take his coat while leaving his room at the Obelisk Blue Dorm.

Zack walked back to the Red dorm talking to Robo Kuribuh. He was sure some people would think he was crazy, but at the moment he really didn't care. He saw a new kid that no one was talking to. He went over to him because of 1 thing. His mom was always saying that he shoud talk to people because of his special power to cheer up people.

"Hey dude wanna duel I saw you looking at your cards wanting to duel."

"Well yeah I really wanna duel so go get your duel disk." the kid said cheerfully.

Gees... its like I'm a natural thought as he walked to his room to get his duel disk.

As Luc was walking back up to his room from the dining hall, he noticed that Blue-Eyes was getting fidgety. Luc looked around to make sure he was alone, sorta. Seeing that the coast is clear, he addressed the dragon. "What's wrong pal? Something up?" He asked. Blue-Eyes' response could be translated to. "It may just be a feeling, but I think the Shadow Games have returned." Luc's smirk turned into a look of discomfort. "You mean the Shadow Games?! Like the Shadow Realm, card damage becoming almost real, and the losers' souls being sent away?" He asked, astonished. Blue-Eyes simply nodded. Luc reached for his deckbox and pulled "Meteor Dragon" and "Giant Trunade" out of his side deck, and swapped them with one "Shift" and one "The Flute Of Summoning Dragon" in his main deck. "There," he sighed, "now in case the Shadow Games are back, we now have more Spell and Trap removal, as well as access to 'Meteor B. Dragon' and its huge attack point advantage." He said. Luc entered his room and grabbed his Duel Disk, placing his deck in it. At the last minute, he grabbed a "Heavy Storm" card from his box of currently unused cards, and swapped it with the "Giant Trunade" in his deck. "'Heavy Storm' works better." Luc explained to a confused looking Blue-Eyes. "We should go tell the others." He said to Blue-Eyes, before darting out the door.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Outside the Red Dorm, Luc looked at his PDA to check what time it was. "6:30. they should still be at dinner." He thought, putting the device away. He had tried Zeraius' room first, but their was no answer when he had knocked on the door. Blue-Eyes, sensing Zombrya, directed Luc towards one of the windows of the Slifer Dorm. Luc walked over to the window. Looking in, he saw Zeraius, Leon, Isumi, and Zombrya. Blue-Eyes let out a growl so that hopefully Zombrya, Leon, or Zeraius would be notified of their presence. Luc and Blue-Eyes didn't want to startle the other students in the Red Dorm.

So if something crazy happens, the source is probably something crazy. That makes too much sense for something that sounds ridiculous. Isumi was slightly disturbed by how much that logic made sense, but it clearly couldn't. Reality didn't work that way, as much as people might want it to.

Meanwhile Leon had pulled out one of his cards, and was wondering if it could help them. "It's a card-" she began, but it seemed that Leon had actually seen something outside. A hooded figure, so it matched the description, but then it wasn't actually a specific description to begin with.

She glanced to the other window, and saw someone else looking in. This one she recognised - it was the guy with the dragons from before, Luc. She waved and motioned for him to come in.

Zeraius heard the dragon's growl and turned to see Luc looking inside. As he turns, he notices Isumi is waving someone to come inside, and so he joins her in waving for Luc to come in. He looks serious, I wonder what the problem is.

Zeraius didn't notice the other figure, or could he just not see him at all?

((sorry for the short length of this post, I just got back from my class and I'm tired as hell))

Luc came inside and leaned against the wall. "I think we may have trouble," he said. "It may be just me, but have you guys sensed anything, um, out of the ordinary today?" he asked. Luc really wanted to admit what Blue-Eyes had told him, but the others, Isumi in particular, considering she didn't have a duel spirit, would think he was off his rocker. The concept of duel spirits had always been met with skepticism, except those duelists who did have spirits. This was a serious matter, and Luc needed to be taken seriously.

Yeah, everyone seems to have gone nuts, Isumi thought, but she decided it would be better not to say that out loud.

"Well, Zeraius fought a mysterious cloaked figure and then collapsed straight after for unknown reasons, but other than that, no not really," she replied, "why?"

Isumi suddenly recalled the headaches she'd had earlier. For a moment, she considered mentioning them, but she doubted that it mattered - after all, what events could possibly be linked to headaches that vanished again almost immediately?

Still trying to get over the death of her father, Lina looked for some friends. Every person she said "hi" to said she was like a wind-up doll that wouldn't stop smiling. Lina ran to the girls bathroom, crying. " They're right you know." said Mind On Air. "You don't have to be happy all the time." Sometimes you need to get serious." "True, but you need to be happy, too." Said Lina. "oh well, let's look for someone to duel!" Lina asked and asked and asked but no one would accept her challenge. "Oh, Why can't I find someone to duel with?!?! DAMMIT!!"

Luc's facial expression changed from grave to alarmed. "Wait, what?!" He asked, then he looked at the ceiling thoughtfully, "This may sound crazy, but, from what you described, it sounds like that was a Shadow Game." his facial expression went back to grim. "If that's true then it wasn't just a bad feeling." he muttered to himself.

Isumi's head sank into her palms. Why? she asked herself, why have I ended up with these people?

"You're right," she muttered, "that does sound crazy," but she didn't say it very loud. Despite how ridiculous the concept sounded, Luc's expression didn't look like it was put on, which meant he probably seriously though there were shadow games. Whether that was because he was crazy or whether he knew something she didn't, she didn't want to seem to be too opposed to the idea - it probably wouldn't go down well, especially since the others seemed to be thinking the same way as Luc was.

"Oh, you're Luc right? I heard you're good, maybe we should duel sometime. Isumi, I know you think we're weird, but believe us, You don't believe this is serious because you don't know about duel spirits, either that or you know about them, but don't believe in them." Leon pointed at Zombyra's card."He is my duel spirit, and he's been complaining about Zeraius's for some reason, this is why we seem to be talking to ourselves all the time."

So now they're all in on this. Either I've managed to stumble into a society of crazy people or this is one massive practical joke. On the other hand Leon does seem to at least have some sense of what he looks like to outsiders, so he's clearly not completely lost it. Oh well, you got yourself into this Isumi, now deal with it.

"Fine," she said, "I still don't believe you, but I'll go along with it for now. If there are shadow games, why is that so devastatingly bad?"

"In these games,a loss doesn't mean you should get better, a loss means you lose your soul." Leon said. He saw Zombyra leaning against the wall next to Luc "Leon, I should mention I have a problem With Lightsworn monsters, and Zeraius is covered in their energy. Put me back in your deck please." Leon obeyed. He saw an all familiar character behind Zeraius. It was Lumina, his duel spirit.

"Vitalia... Vitalia" A voice whispered in the woods... "Vitalia... Vitalia"

The night was falling... the moon shine in the sky... and the wind stoped. The air and the atmosphere suddenly turned heavy, cold... and creepy.

A conversation was taking place at the Slifer Red Dorm dinning hall. Some boys were talking about the Monster Spirits and the Shadow Realm. Outside a hooded boy with a necklace with a Cross pendant in his neck was waiting for some action. He prepared for a duel putting his Deck on his Duel Disk, waiting the response of someone at the Slifer Red Dorm.

"Vitalia... Vitalia" The wind continue whispering "Vitalia... Vitalia"

Azrael was arriving to a known place. Jaiden Yuki visited this place in need to rescue his friedns souls...

"Here is the place Dark Necrofear, here's where he lost his boddy."

"Are you sure of that Azrael?... You're right, this place still have some escence of a Shadow Duel."

"Well Dark Necrofear, we need to try it... but we need the energy from the other boy, so we need to wait for him... until that... is time to prepared the ritual to bring the Shadow Riders back to life!"

The conversation between Azrael and Dark Necrofear become more darker and darker. Azrael take out some pieces of a Black Pearl and started to put them in specific places.

The stone of the keys, Azrael thought, from here we're goin to start

"So don't lose, or better yet don't take part," Isumi responded, "besides, for someone to take your soul you'd actually have to have a soul, a real one, and not just some metaphorical expression of your personality."

"Anyway," she continued, "I have things to do, so I'll see you guys around." She stood and quickly marched out of the door. I didn't even find out what I wanted to know. Sure, losing your 'soul' might be bad, but that doesn't justify them panicking over it. Wait, why am I accepting this. There's no reason to suppose that they're even right. For all I know they're just bonkers. Besides, if he won a shadow game, then wouldn't the soul-less body of whoever he beat have been nearby? Then so much for shadow games - it has to be something else.

She stood outside and looked up at the night sky. Her eyes almost seemed sad for some reason, and it seemed as if she was no longer thinking of shadow games. A figure was watching from the shadows of the trees.

Lina was still looking for someone to duel. She search high for a person to duel, but still no luck. Desperate, she found two people talking to each other, Luc and Isumi. "Maybe you should talk to them get to know them a little better." Said Mind on Air to Lina. " Okay, Here I go!" said Lina. She approached Luc and Isumi. "Hi yall! I'm Lina! Does either one of ya wanna duel me?"

Zeraius sighed as Isumi walked out.

"I don't blame her. I can barely believe it." Zeraius confessed. Lumina sat on the table next to him.

"I don't know if it was a Shadow Duel, but the person you dueled was overflowing with darkness. Your feinting spell afterwords could have been your "bad reaction" to the Simochi. If they used a regular deck, you would probably have bruises and cuts rather than what really happened." Explained Lumina, the fact that she wasn't sure herself made Zeraius want to explore other possibilities.

"But... if it was a Shadow Game, why isn't the body still there?" Zeraius brought up. "There should be some remnants."

"Not necessarily," Luc said, "In the Battle City finals, which was a Shadow Game, every time a player took life point damage, part of their body disappeared. The loser's body would disappear into the Shadow Realm forever, and the winner's body would be restored." Luc the remembered something else. "If I remember correctly, there were rumors of Shadow Games occurring on Academy Island during Jaden Yuki's freshman year here." He said.

Isumi looked up at the stars. Lifting her arm, she casually traced out a few lines in the sky.

***

"I think I can see it," the little girl yelled excitedly, pointing at the sky and tracing out a line, "it's there."

"Good job," the woman kneeling next to her replied. She looked a lot like an older version of Isumi, if a little pale, and was wrapped in a stole despite the fact that it was a warm night. "I knew you'd find it eventually Izzy," she added, "you have your Daddy's eye."

"But Daddy has both his eyes, how can I have one?" the girl asked, apparently confused.

"Well ok then, you have Daddy's type of eye then," the woman laughed, embracing the girl. She reciprocated the hug, and the two remained motionless for quite some time.

"Izzy, will you look up again."

"Sure," she replied, looking back up at the sky.

"You see how there are stars in the sky everywhere right?"

"Yeah."

"Well I want you to remember something. Whatever happens, if we can't be together, look up and know that I'll be able to see them as well."

"Why? What's happening? Are you going somewhere?"

"Don't worry, I'm not planning on going anywhere," the woman reassured her, "I just want you to remember it. And it's not just me who'll be able to see those stars. Whenever you miss someone, if you look up at the stars you'll be able to see what they can see. Now let's go back inside," she finished.

"OK," the girl agreed, the smile back on her face.

***

But you can't see them any more, can you? Isumi mused to herself. Still, those words did help, at least a little. She continued to look into the sky for a while, before heading up onto the balcony and into her room.

"Enjoy yourself whilst you can," the figure muttered, "I'll be coming for you soon enough, Kimidori."

"That's true Luc. Anyway, Shadow duels or not, we have duel evaluations tomorrow so we should try to get some shuteye. You guys can stay in my room if you want. I don't have a roommate so I got space for both of you if one of us sleeps on the floor. Any takers?" Leon said. "By the way, I like to play my bass before I go to sleep."

Zeraius shakes his head. "I'll just go back to my room." He said as he got up and waved. "I'll come back here if I see something strange. We should watch eachother's backs." Zeraius mentioned as he left. Lumina walked next to him, keeping an eye out for anything strange. She was worried for Zeraius now.

"It's okay Lumina, I doubt anything like that will happen twice in one night." He tried to reassure her.

"I don't trust it. We need you Zeraius, we can't have you getting your energy sapped by some wierd guy in a cloak." She said with a worried tone in her voice.

"Don't worry. As long as I have you guys, I won't be losing any Shadow Duels." He smiled.

Lumina could only smile back. Zeraius couldn't help but worry too however. He masked it well, but he was worried. Worried for all of his new friends.

((RobotWarsLuver already sent in their application and was accepted. I forgot to add them to the character list, my bad. @_@))

"Yeah, I suppose you're right Leon, I'm going to head back to the Blue Dorm, just make sure you guys watch your backs. Someone should probably tell Zack too." Luc said, opening the door, "Good night." he said over his shoulder as he left. After walking a few yards, Blue-Eyes started growling at something in the shade of a tree. Luc looked over and saw the cloaked figure. "That person sure seems shady." Luc thought. The figure held up a Duel Disk. "Looks like there's only one way out of this." Luc thought, activating his own Duel Disk.
