While walking, Leon looked at his deck. He pulled out the card Yugi had given him after their duel, Zombyra the Dark. Moments later, Zombyra appeared behind him. "I'm bored, any chance of a duel anytime soon? Especially one against Zeraius, that duel was fun." said Zombyra. "Maybe tomorrow, it's kinda late" Leon noticed that Isumi looked at him as he spoke, as if questioning his sanity.

(So is this a villain that Zeraius is dueling? 'bout time we had an antagonist)

"By the way Blue-Eyes, you know what kind of monster that other duel spirit we saw today was?" Luc asked. The dragon's response could be translated as, "She may have been a Lightsworn monster. I don't know much about them." Luc grinned, "Well, the decks of the other students may have their secrets, but we have one of our own." He said, pulling a card from his deck. It was "Obelisk The Tormentor" Luc got up and head for the door. "Well, I'm starved, I'm going to head down for something to eat."

I didn't notice before, but he's talking to himself as well. Has everyone here lost it? Or is this normal for guys, and it's my family that are the crazy ones? Nah, I know my brothers are sane, it must be these guys who are nuts. Then again, they could just be thinking out loud.

They had reached the door to the dining hall, and Isumi decided to test out the thinking out loud theory. "Did you say something?" she asked, as she pushed open the door. Her room-mate and a couple of other girls had already gathered around one of the tables, and one of them waved to her as she entered.

"Isumi, over here!" the girl yelled, patting the empty place next to her. Isumi waved her response and went over to collect her meal.

((Just noting that this duel is taking place right outside the Slifer dorms))

The cloaked figure drew a card and summoned Nurse Reficul The Fallen One.

"Uh oh... A Simochi deck... This could be bad." Zeraius said to himself.

The figure set three s/T's and silently ended his turn.

"Draw!" Zeraius said as he drew a new card. Right as he did, the figure revealed all three of the traps. The first was Gift Card. Next was Dark Cure, and last was Eye of Truth.

"sheet." Zeraius cursed as his went down by 3,000 from the gift card. (Zeraius: 5000) (Figure: 4900)

He had no spells in his hand, so eye of truth didn't damage him.

"Allow me to end this." Zeraius said as he saw the card he drew.

"I sacrifice my Ehren to normal summon, Celestia, Lightsworn Angel!" He yelled as a blue-haired angel with a staff appeared.

"Her effect let's me destroy 2 cards on the field when she's summoned, all I have to do is send the top 4 cards from my deck to the graveyard!" He did as the effect said and placed the top 4 cards of his deck in the graveyard slot. One popped back out.

"And now, another Wulf is summoned! Not only that, but I'll destroy your Nurse Reficule and the Eye of Truth!"

The two cards were instantly disintegrated.

"Now. This is over. My Lightsworns, attack him directly!" All the cards in Zeraius' field rushed at the figure and as they all collided there was an explosion. When the smoke cleared, the figure was gone. Zeraius' monsters faded and he collapsed to his knees.

"What's going on? Why am I so drained...?" He said as he fell to the ground.

((Sorry for the messyness of this post. I did this from my phone. @_@))

(Random Dude, if you want to continue with the scene inside the dining hall, I'll run both scenes in my posts)

Some time later, after Isumi finished eating, she decided to head back to her room. Her room mate had been there some time before, and had things to do, so she'd already left, and so Isumi wandered out alone.

For some reason she felt strange, but she couldn't tell why. She looked over to the Obelisk dorms. The thought of the people she'd met from there today crossed her mind, and she shrugged off the feeling and began to turn away.

It was then she noticed the shape on the ground. If seemed to resemble an Obelisk, but why would one be here, and laying on the floor at that? She rushed over to see who it was.

"Zeraius?" she asked, turning the person over, "What happened?"

Zeraius opens his eyes when he feels he was turned over. He must have passed out after the duel.

"What? Isumi?" Zeraius leaps up after he realizes what happened and where he was.

"Where did he go?? Did you see some guy in a cloak when you found me?" He asked almost frantically. Zeraius looks through his deck to make sure all his cards where there. They were, that was good. It means they weren't after the card. He takes a good look around to see if the figure was still around, but there was nothing.

Isumi barely managed to stay upright as the boy leaped to his feet. He also said something about someone in a cloak, and seemed to be panicking about it. She suddenly found she had a splitting headache, but it went again almost immediately as she stood up as well.

"No," she replied, "there was just you. What are you talking about, cloaked figures? And why were you sleeping out here?"

Don't tell me he's actually crazy, she thought.

"I wasn't sleeping." He said abruptly.

"I had a bad feeling when I got back to my room. It wouldn't go away, so I decided to just walk around the grounds a bit, to get some fresh air and get my mind off of things." He began.

"I walked all the way out here, and when I was on my way back, there was some cloaked guy in front of me. He challenged me to a duel, I accepted and won, but afterwords I felt so drained. Like the life had been sucked out of me, and I collapsed... I don't know anything after that." He explained the story to Isumi, hoping she'd believe what he said. At the same time, he wanted to know what happened, and why the cloaked figure dueled him. More importantly, why did he pass out after the duel?

"So you had a duel, and then you passed out?" Isumi repeated, trying to clear up what he was saying in her own mind. It didn't make sense.

Why would someone pass out after playing a card game? Isumi came to the conclusion that there was something wrong with Zeraius, and that whoever he was dueling had run off after he collapsed for some reason. She then decided to figure out what that was.

"Are you sure you don't have a fever or something?" she asked, reaching up to Zeriaus' forehead and feeling it with the back of her hand. He didn't feel warm, so that seemed unlikely.

"Have you been eating properly?" she continued, barely giving the boy a chance to speak, "they'll still have food at our dorm if you're hungry. It's not as good as what you get but it's still good."

"I've been eating mostly noodles lately, but I don't think that's what did it..." He said as he tried to figure out what happened himself.

"It didn't feel like I collapsed from anything like that, I was perfectly fine during and before the duel. When I attacked him for the win, there was an explosion which I assume was from the monsters hitting them all at once, and he was gone. After the duel ended and the holograms faded, I just suddenly couldn't hold myself up, I could barely speak." He explained what happened step by step to see if Isumi could help him figure out the issue.

Isumi was now lost. It didn't make any sense at all. Why would someone who was fine suddenly collapse without warning the moment the duel ended. Sure, there were all those stories about various mystical things when Judai Yuki was around, but Isumi had never really believed them anyway. Surely there had to be a solution that wasn't related to some sort of magic.

One thing, however, was very clear. "Even if that wasn't the reason," she declared, "if you've been living off noodles you're going to have a proper meal for once before you really do pass out because of your food. Besides, you need to recover your strength before you go back to your own dorm." She grabbed Zeraius' arm and began dragging him back towards the Slifer dining room.

"Wh-what?" Zeraius didn't have enough time to process what Isumi was saying before he was being dragged into the Slifer dorm. Maybe it wouldn't be too bad eating there though, the reason he didn't eat the Obelisk food was cuz it was too loud and crowded. Maybe the smaller dorm will help.

"What food is there to eat? I was a Slifer my first year here, what's on the menu tonight?" He asked, remembering the kinds of food they used to have when he was a Slifer.

Oh yeah, I remember that being mentioned, Isumi realised, having forgotten that Zeraius hadn't always been at the top of the school. "Rice and fish," she replied, "the usual. Nothing changes in Slifer - well, not very often anyway."

Isumi pushed open the dining room door and marched in. The few students still eating, and those who were chatting or working with friends in different rooms, looked up in surprise at the girl, who had just burst in with an Obelisk third-year in tow.

"This person collapsed outside," she told the room at large, "he needs to eat to get his strengh back." She finally let go of Zeraius' wrist and headed over to the kitchen to collect some food.

Zeraius waved at the Professor in the back.

"How have you been professor?" Zeraius said ignoring the embarassment of everyone staring at him. He smiled at everyone else trying to hide the blushing from having the attention of the entire room on him.

"Isumi won't let me leave til I have some food... So, I'll be here for a little bit if that's okay." He said to no one in particular.

Isumi soon returned from the kitchen carrying a tray. On it was the same meal she had consumed herself just a few minutes before.

She had left Zeraius next to an empty table, upon which she now placed the tray. She pushed it over to the far side of the table and sat down, and motioned to Zeraius to do the same.

"Sit down, take a break, enjoy the finest of Slifer red food," she insisted.

Now what? a small part of her brain spoke up, this is going to get awkward very quickly, because you've just run out of things to do and say. Isumi ignored it. In fact it would probably be more accurate to say she didn't hear it.

"So, do you have any idea why anyone would want to duel you and drain your energy?" she asked.

"Well, a lot of people want to duel me. I don't know about the other part though." He half lied. He had some idea why people would want to steal his energy, but only a certain... entity you could say would know about it, so it wasn't reason enough to bring up. Lumina would have known if that was involved.

"They used a Simochi deck, probably would have won if I didn't draw the card I needed." He said, remembering drawing into Celestia to destroy Nurse Reficul.

Isumi poured two glasses of water from a half-empty jug sat on the desk, and took a sip from one. "What's a Simochi deck?" she asked, pushing the other one forwards. "I've not heard of it before." Whatever it is, it must be good if he was worried about losing. I haven't seen him duel much, but from what I have seen he could beat most of the school in a couple of turns. If there's someone sneaking around who can match him, then maybe this is serious.

"It revolves around two cards. Bad Reaction to Simochi, and Nurse Reficul the Fallen One. Both of those cards have the following effect. 'Any card effect that would heal your opponent is negated and instead your opponent takes the same amount as damage to their life points.' So you can see what it does. It uses cards like Gift Card, Soul Taker, Eye of Truth, Dark Cure, etc. All things that would normally heal the opponent." He explains the concept of a Simochi deck and some of it's key cards.

"The deck can get really scary really fast. Nurse Reficul is even searchable via Sangan, so it's quite easy to get to the field. Bad Reaction to Simochi is a trap card, so the deck is very trap and magic intensive." He explains further as he drinks some of the water and starts eating the food.

"Ah, so it inflicts lots of burn damage by using the downsides of other cards. That does sound scary. You'd have to act rather fast before you ran out points, and your own recovery effects would only make it worse." Isumi took another sip and watched the boy opposite her eating. Her mind wandered, and in front of her she saw another boy, similar in hight and build, but with black hair, and wearing denim overalls, eating much the same food in a small kitchen.

"This is delicious Izzie," he said, smiling.

"Really?" A little girl asked. Her ponytail was longer, and there was a plaster on her face, but other than that she didn't look much different to the Isumi of today. She was stood on the chair opposite the teenage boy, with an excited look on her face.

"Um-hum," he replied, nodding, before swallowing what he was eating. "Only Mother cooks this well, how did you do it?"

"I just added little bits of stuff and kept seeing how it tasted, like you and Daddy do with all the junk."

He laughed. "Really? I'll have to remember that, then maybe I might get good as well."

"And I'll taste your cooking as well!"

"Sure," he replied, smiling.

Isumi had something of a vacant look on her face. She was still looking at Zeraius, but her eyes were replaying a memory that didn't come to mind very often. Huh, he said that, didn't he. But then I guess a lot changed since then.

Leon overheard the conversation between Zeraius and Isumi. He made his way towards them, still holding his plate, "My brother used a Simochi deck at one point, they're tough to counter" he took a bite out of his fish. "I've seen Zeraius duel before and I know firsthand what he's capable of, I also know that even he would have a hard time against a deck like that. Question here is, why did he collapse, and what happened to the hooded guy?"

Zeraius took out his deck and looked at the cards. One stood out in particular. He knew its importance, not what made it so important. He pulled the card out and looked at it. Judgment Dragon... A rediculous card, but as important as Lumina says? What makes it so important?

"It... could have been they wanted to take this card from me. But I kinda pushed that thought out of my head since the card is still here." He sets the card down on the table.

"Leon knows about this card, but..." Zeraius trails off, wondering if he should talk about what Lumina told him.

"Yeah, he beat me with it last year. Basically you pay 1000 life points and you can clear the field, only this card stays. Thing is you need 4 different Lightsworn monsters in your graveyard to summon it, and you send the top 4 cards in your deck to the graveyard at the end of your turn." Leon said before finishing the rest of his fish.

Isumi came back to the present as Leon showed up, and Zeraius pulled out a card from his deck and placed it on the table, claiming that the person could have wanted to steal it. she leaned in and took a closer look.

"Judgement Dragon? It's a good card, but why would anyone be that desperate for a trading card?" she asked. Sure, dueling with that card as an ante, even hitting the guy around the head and knocking him out, but to drain his energy by mysterious means - whether or not they even wanted the card it seemed over the top. Of course, they didn't even know how it happened.

"It's hard to explain. This card isn't just a Trading card, but that's all that I can really say." He said putting the card back into his deck.

Hmm... Or it could have been... No way, those are only myths... Right? Zeraius started thinking about how the duel went... He hit me with a Gift card, and Reficul's effect made it damage me for 3,000. It hurt quite a bit, but duels usually do... right?

"You might think I'm crazy for mentioning this as a possibility, but... What if it was a Shadow Duel?" He said, waiting for the inevitable crticism.

"You mean like those that Yugi Moto was supposed to have been in? You think they're even real?" Isumi asked, somewhat incredulous. I knew it, he's nuts, and now he's said that Leon's probably going to be thinking the same way. There was no way that such things could exist. Shadow Duels? Yeah right. This is the twenty - first century. People didn't seriously believe in magic any more - did they?
