How had she ended up with what could well be the only two Obelisk students without a superiority complex on her first day back? All she'd done was sit outside. Luc and Zeraius both seemed to have a problem with the current dorm system, talking about how it was unfair on those at the bottom. Of course they had a great view at the top, and got all the benefits. She idly wondered if they'd still think reform was good if they were moved into one of the less luxurious dorms, but didn't bother to press the issue. In the meantime, Zack had gone off to fetch his duel disk and was now looking for a battle. Luc had already accepted, although he was now showing off his best cards, perhaps as a warning to the younger student. Oh well, at least I'll have something interesting to watch, she decided. Especially the one with the duel spirit, he was very intriguing... Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, a powerful card. That must mean he has a Blue-Eyes deck, possibly similar to Seto Kaiba's."This will be fun to watch." Zeraius stood aside ready to watch the duel. He had hit jackpot with a perfect hand. "I draw" Zack drew another card from his deck. "Now I play the Field Spell Prototrap Heaven!" The location changed into a Cloudily and technologic sky. "Now that I have this card on the field I can Set Prototrap Monsters face-down in attack position. Alright now I play the spell card Field Lock! This card allows me to Lock a Field Spell in place so that you cannot destroy it by anything. So now I Set 1 monster face-down in Attack Position and End my turn by Setting 2 cards face-down." "Alright, looks like I can make a really good move, if I can draw the right card that is", he thought, getting ready to draw. C'mon deck, don't let me down now! He pulled a card that could be useful. "Alright, I'll summon Lord of D. in attack mode. Then I'll play the Flute Of Summoning Dragon! I special summon Hyozanryu and The White Stone of Legend!" Luc grinned, "Alright, time to give Hyozanryu a tune up! I'm tuning my level one Stone with my level seven Hyozanryu!" Hyozanryu became a green outline and three green rings surrounded it. The White Stone Of Legend became a single glowing orb and centered itself in the Hyozanryu-green ring apparatus, "I summon a level eight monster! Synchro Summon! Emerge from the cosmos Stardust Dragon!" in a stream of blue light, Hyozanryu disappeared and Stardust Dragon took its place. "And due to my Stone of Legend's ability, when it's in the graveyard, I get to add this bad boy from my deck to my hand." Luc said, holding up a Blue-Eyes White Dragon. "Now, I play White Dragon Ritual! By sacrificing my Lord of D, this spell allows me to Ritual Summon Paladin of White Dragon! Just don't blink, you may miss him. I activate his special ability and summon a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my deck! Thing is, he can't attack this turn. And since I don't know what the heck that monster of yours is, I won't risk my Stardust attacking. That's it, turn end." On one side lay a monster in face-down attack position, on the other a Blue-Eyes and a Stardust stand ready to attack at any time. "These two are very good it seems." Lumina commented as she reappeared behind Zeraius.Zeraius nods in reply and continues to watch intently. As he usually does when he watches a duel, he puts himself in the position of both players and analyzes the field from either perspective. He liked to try and predict what each duelist might do. In this case, it was rather hard. On one side, there are cards he'd never heard of before, ProtoTraps. On the other, a rather interesting dragon deck."I see a Blue-Eyes Ultimate coming out soon. This card allows me to flip 1 Prototrap face-down on my side of the field by paying 1000 Life Points." A monster card flips up. "Alright I flip summon my Prototrap - Limit (ATK/200 DEF/0) ! Limit makes it so that you can't attack with any monster that is a Lv 3 or higher. Now I flip 1 of my face-downs. Proto Summon! I can pay 1000 Life Points to Special Summon 1 Lv 4 or higher from my deck. I summon Prototrap - Increaser! (8000/0) Man you lucky this card can't attack. Now I flip up Life Point Gain = BOOM. BOOM allows me to inflict any amount of Life Points I gain on you. Alright I play the spell card Swords of Revealing Light and that ends my turn. Despite the weird light show from the filed spell, at least reality was there behind it. So he can now set monsters face-sown in attack position. Now that's different. Of course what will do against those dragons. Getting two of the best dragons in the game out in one turn is very impressive, and it should show what these prototrap things can do. She glanced at Zeriaus, who seemed to be talking to himself. What is he, some sort of weirdo? Why's he talking to himself? Swords of revealing light and a monster that seals off high level monsters? My Blue-Eyes is going to show you why with this," he said, turning the card around, "Burst Stream of Destruction! Say goodbye to both your monsters, 'cause this card works similar to 'Rageki', only it requires Blue-Eyes on the field. But on the turn this card is activated, Blue-Eyes can't attack. Of course, with your swords still in effect for two more turns, it doesn't make much difference." A blazing white light built up in Blue-Eyes White Dragon's jaws. "Go!, Burst Stream of Destruction!" Blue-Eyes unleashed the blast, vaporizing both of Zack's monsters. Watching sort of made him want to duel as well. He patted the deckbox hanging off his belt. He half-missed dueling for fun like he used to. Back in those days, that's all it was to him. Not to say he doesn't have fun now when he duels, he certainly enjoys himself, but the spontaneity of just challenging someone walking by was the best part of it. He doesn't do those things anymore. So much for those monsters she mused, however she didn't realise how quickly they'd be back - or at what cost. Cutting a quarter of the deck to revive two monsters?... "Quiet the cost," Zeraius said, moving towards her, somehow expressing, if not exactly what she was thinking but the general idea. Zeraius stood alongside her, turning back to the duel. "Well, Luc's deck is going fast, and already got out two powerful monsters. The question is whether or not those Prototraps can catch up without Zack throwing out the rest of his deck." Something had begun to bug Isumi, and she soon realised what it was. She moved her duel disk over to her other side. "Sit down," she called up, "you're blocking the view." Now the question is, can Zack inflict enough burn before Luc punches through his defences. Zeraius has sat down alongside her, and said something about Skill Drain. He didn't quite seem to be talking to himself again, but she wasn't sure. She decided to go for it. "Maybe," she replied, "but the deck runs on monster effects, so using it would be a risk. Isn't there a spell card that can block a monster effect? I'd thing that would work better, and it gives an attack boost as well, as I recall."
