((Isumi never mentioned hard light to anyone else, she only thought about it. Unless Luc's psychic, he wouldn't know about it. And when did Luc reach the infirmary anyway?))

***

Ten years ago.

The hospital room was a mess. Draws were pulled out, a vase overturned, and various clothes, greetings cards and trading cards were scattered over the floor. In contrast the woman lying on the bed seemed to be untroubled, lightly sleeping, with her head slightly to one side. The illusion was only shattered when one realised the woman wasn't breathing.

"So whoever did this didn't kill her?" the man in police uniform asked, turning to the doctor and nurse stood by the door.

"No," the doctor replied, "she died maybe 10 minutes before this happened. She was a terminal case, so it wasn't unexpected, although we were about to conduct a post-"

The man was interrupted by the sound of the door sliding open. A tall young man, with the same shade of hair as the dead woman, stepped into the room and looked around.

"Couldn't even leave the dead alone," he muttered.

"Excuse me sir, but only family should be here-"

"I'm a close friend to the family," he replied. "I was already visiting someone, and her husband asked me to look in, since he has to tell his children why their mother won't be coming home. You understand, right?"

The nurse was sure she'd seen this boy with the woman's family - in fact she'd thought he was family, but she decided not to say anything.

"I see," the officer replied, nodding his head, "then do you know why someone would do this?"

"They were looking for something," the young man stated. He looked down to the trading card at his feet. Sunny Pixie, he thought, picking it up. "They didn't find it though," he added.

"How can you know that?"

"Because she already gave the card to someone else."

"You."

"No." The young man turned to leave.

"Wait. I need your contact details."

"I can't give you them."

"A name, at least."

The young man had reached the door. He stopped and turned around. "John Green," he told them, and then disappeared from sight.

It was then they realised the man still had the Sunny Pixie card.

"Huh? What did he want?" Isumi asked, seemingly confused. She thought back to the duel, but it seemed blurry. Probably because she was being beaten up at the time. It began to come back to her. She gave a small gasp.

"Ancient Sacred Wyvern," she whispered, almost silently, to herself. It might be possible for someone to tell that she spoke, but not what she said. Do I tell him about that card? Big brother said not to tell anyone about it, but it doesn't seem like he's got anything to do with those people. What do I do? she wondered, her free hand over her face.

((OOC:@Timepsyduck, Now that I double checked, you're right, edited post, and the post also implied that Luc slipped away from the dorm to go tell the others about the Wicked Gods.

@Azelf: add a second Blue-Eyes Shining To my deck list. My friend just gave me another one, and I figured two are better than one. Only one of them will have a spirit though. ))

"Err, is something wrong?" Luc asked, noticing Isumi's hesitation. Either she was keeping something secret, embarrassed, couldn't remember what the person had wanted. He decided it best to press further questions. As much as he wanted to get to the bottom of these mysterious occurring, he didn't like the idea of making people feel uncomfortable to do so.

"Now Rukia, attack his Life Points directly!"

Rukia raised her blade and charged at Brandon dramatically. She paused for a second for dramatic effect before slashing down across the chest of the duelist. (Brandon: 5900 LP)

"So, what do you think of my Clown Warriors?" Hime taunted.

"Well, there IS a reason why these cards are one-of-a-kind, but at least they aren't as bad as some other Duel Monsters cards! In some countries, Water Omotics is naked!"

"But I'm not done! Sango, attack Brandon's Life Points directly!"

Sango whirled her boomerang, which...whizzed harmlessly over Brandon's head.

But before Brandon could make a witty retort, the boomerang struck him in the back of the head, and Sango grabbed her weapon. (Brandon: 4200 LP)

"Any response?"

"If you don't want to tell me now, then that's fine, but we'll need to know at some point." He said, putting the question on hold.

"Luc, lets let her rest." He said as he stood up and headed out the door.

"I need to do a few things before classes start, I'll see you later Luc." He said once they left the infirmary. He went outside the main building and Lumina appeared.

"What's the matter?" Asked Lumina.

"Nothing, just worried about Isumi really. And, of course, everything that happened last night." He turned to look at Lumina.

"I dunno, I've got a bad feeling about all this, like this is just the beginning and things are just gonna get worse from here."

((Brandon, those posts might count as shortposting, since the duel data doesn't count towards your line count.))

"Well, now I end my turn!" Hime declared.

Strangely enough, Sango walked out of her Monster Card Zone, and the other three did too. They leapt into the air and did a four-way high-five, then rushed back to their Monster Card Zones, as if nothing had happened. Hime didn't show any sign of amazement, and neither did the crowd, but for Brandon, it happened, as clear as day.

Hime: 5500 LP

Hand: 3

Monsters: Sango (1700 ATK), Rukia (1900 ATK), Rei (2100 ATK), Vivi (1400 DEF)

"Alright, it's my draw", said Brandon, drawing a card. "Now I'll summon another Shadowknight Archfiend", said Brandon, putting the card down on the duel disk. He watched the monster appear, grinning. Now I'll activate my face down card, Jar of Greed. This lets me draw 1 card. Now, from my hand, I activate my Monster Reincarnation card and discard 1 card from my hand to the graveyard to add the Shadowknight Archfiend you destroyed to my hand. Now I activate the last card in my hand, Monster Reborn. Now I'll bring back the monster I discarded, Terrorking Archfiend!" Brandon laughed as the King entered the field. Suddenly, Brandon had a dark red aura around him. He stopped laughing and paused for a moment. Then, he looked at the teacher and smiled.

Brandon: 4200

Hand: 1 card

Monsters: Shadowknight Archfiend, Terrorking Archfiend

S/T's: None

Graveyard: Shadowknight Archfiend, Checkmate, Monster Reincarnation, Monster Reborn

Zeraius looked up to see a duel going on.

"Archfiends huh? And... What the hell are those?" Zeraius walked over quickly, intrigued by these new cards. Lumina covered Zeraius' eyes jokingly as they approached the area. He waved her hand away and started watching closely.

"Seems the one running Archfiends is on the ropes. Nothing but a Terrorking and a Shadowknight. The other one has a face down and four monsters... As well as two continuous spells." Zeraius said analyzing the field. He began going over strategies in his head.

"Two words, kid! Zero Gravity!"

332v3er.jpg

All of the monsters on the field started to float in mid-air, causing their battle positions to be changed again! (Sango: 1200 DEF) (Rukia: 900 DEF)(Rei: 500 DEF) (Vivi: 1400 ATK) (Terrorking: 1500 DEF) (Shadowknight: 1600 DEF)

Vivi then threw yet another bladed string and destroyed Brandon's last face-down card.

"Now you can't attack since your monsters are in Defense Position!"

((You had a face-down. Where did it go?))

(( I used it, it was Jar of Greed ))

Brandon smiled. In an demonic voice he said, "Brandon surrenders". Brandon clicked the button on his duel disk, causing him to lose the match. He then just walked off to the entrance of the school, the red aura still around him. He had absolutely no expression, he had on his po-po- poker face. He walked through the doors into the school, leaving the teacher out there to do whatever.

"Um..." Zeraius said as the duel ended almost as soon as he walked up. Lumina stared at him as he continued walking.

"Zeraius, did you see that?" She said, almost worried.

"If you mean him surrendering, then yes, I did." He said.

"No, I mean the aura. Something is off about him. Do you think he could be a Shadow duelist?" She speculated.

"I doubt it... He wouldn't have surrendered like that. Something else is going on." Zeraius thought about it. He looked towards the doors the boy went through and watched. Who was that?

((What about MY cards, huh?!? Are my Clown Warriors no good enough for those two?!?))

Hime seemed a bit shocked.

He...he surrendered...Why?!?

She charged up to Brandon and placed her hand on his shoulder.

"Hey! What's the big idea, you stupid sore loser?!? You didn't even acknowledge that you would uphold your end of the deal!!! Come on!!! Do you have any sense of honor?!? It's foolish to just give up when the chips are down!!!"
