[spoiler=Plot]

The world is shaking, crumbling, but the mortals have yet to notice. You, an innocent half-blood, brought into this world by the mating of god and mortal, are responsible for this. There is a small glimmer of hope, a silver lining. The cause is the cure.

[spoiler=Rules]

1. FOLLOW ALL ADVANCED CLAUSE RULES. (I cannot stress this enough.)

2. No Godmodding (or else I will get Zeus to use his lightning bolt on you.)

3. No Spamming. (And Poseidon will take care of you.)

4. Preferably, use the Greek names of the gods and goddesses at all times, as the Romans are filthy cheaters. (Now, that I mention it, Tartarus could use some spammers)

5. All rulebreakers will be put in the Field of Punishment for an eternity, or be tortured by the Erinyes (Furies) for the rest of their mortal days. And reported.

OOC: Guys, we're starting. The only OOC posts that can be posted are applications. And sorry, but not accepted. Please add more detail and a real name.

Ajax and Alban Becker sat at their high school, flipping golden coins into the air. A glint of light flicked off the coins as it fell. "Hey, Jack," Alban said, looking at his twin; though they kept there hair in different styles, it was still difficult for people to tell them apart.

"What is it, Alban?" Ajax said, his bright eyes focusing on Alban, who looked a bit worried.

"Have you ever thought about going to see dad?" Alban said, looking at the coin, Apollo's image on the side of the coin. Alban and Ajax only knew their father because Natasha, their mother had told them, and now, they were targets of rampant monster attacks because they knew their identity.

"Going to Olympus?" Ajax asked, nonplussed. He hadn't thought about it at all, considering he was sure that his father wouldn't take too kindly to being visited by some of his many children. Ajax remembered Apollo thinking of a list of children he had that they'd most likely heard of. Mel Gibson, Marquis de Lafayette, Jessica Alba.. Apollo had explained, the list not nearly as long as Zeus or Hermes.

Jason sat in the school library, reading a book. He was really getting into it, when the book was ripped out of his hands, and flung away. Jason looked up to see who had done such an act. There stood the biggest 17-year-old Jason had ever seen. "Uhh...g'day, mate. Wot can I...uh...do f'ya?" The kid just laughed.

"You sure got a stupid voice, you know that kid?" He didn't wait for Jason to reply, just grabbed him by his collar and pulled him up. "Tell me somethin' kid, why you always in the library with your nose stuck in books?" Jason gulped; he knew that whatever answer he gave would result in a beating. The kid shook him, and his glasses fell off. "Well, kid, gonna talk, or am I gonna have to wallop ya?" Jason looked at the kid, but everything was fuzzy.

"I was...uh...studying for an exam, mate, and I needed some good resourc-" The kid's fist slammed into Jason's stomach. Jason groaned; where was faculty when you needed them?

"So, why are you callin' me mate? As far as I can tell, I hate you. I'm not your mate!" Another fist slammed into Jason's stomach. He grunted, and coughed.

"Why are you messing with him?" Alban said, walking in. "You really are a pest. Just because this guy's different from you, you're going to beat him up? People like you make me sick."

Alban looked at the boy being beat up, looking for some sort of back up. Alban swung his leg into the side of the kid holding Jason's stomach. "Hello, my name is Alban Becker," Alban said, focusing his mind onto Jason while still keeping his eyes on the boy who he was fighting. "I'd appreciate some help. My strength alone won't bring down this brute."

Jason fell down. He grasped his stomach for a second, and coughed. He tasted copper in his mouth. After a minute, he felt around for his glasses. CRACK! Jason groaned; he found the glasses, but the big bully had stepped on them as he fought the other kid. Jason stood up, waving his hands around. "I'd help you if I could, mate-" Jason stumbled, tripping as the bully lashed out. "Oof!" He got up again, and looked around at the hazed world. "But my eyesight's not the best, y'see." Jason heard a grunt, and swung his fist. It connected with someone's chin, and knocked them to the ground.

"Ha, good job *ss-hole!" Jason groaned; he had hit the kid who was helping him. He was about to apologize, when he sensed the bully's fist coming. He sidestepped it, and with strength he didn't know he had, rammed it into the kid's stomach. The kid fell down, unconscious. Jason felt around until he found the kid who had helped him. He grabbed what he thought was his arm, and pulled him up.

Alban got up, looking at the unconscious boy clearly. Alban's eyes opened wide in shock. A Cyclops was sitting there, unconscious on the floor. What would one be doing here, harassing a teenager, unless...

"What are your parents' names?" Alban asked, curiously, his eyes not straying from the Cyclops.

Jason looked at the kid. "Who, me?" He hesitated; nobody had ever asked who his parents were. He squinted his eyes at the kid, and could just barely make him out. Jason was sure that he had never seen him before, so why did he care who his parents were. Oh, well, not that it mattered; he might as well tell the kid. What's the worst that would happen. Jason tried to hold out his hand to the kid, but only managed to almost push him to the ground again. He pulled back quickly. "Sorry, mate. Well, uh, I grew up in an orphanage. I never met me da, but me mum...well, I'm not sure you would believe me." He took a breath to steady his shaking hands. "My mother...is the Greek goddess, Artemis." Jason cringed, waiting for the kid to laugh, shove him away, and run; that's what everybody else did.

"Artemis, eh? I thought she was one of the three virgin goddesses," Alban said to himself, looking at the Cyclops. "Look into this kid's eye. He's a Cyclops."

Alban pulled out his pocket knife, which extended into a bronze sword when he flicked it open. He drove it into the unconscious Cyclops body, making it disappear. "That solves that problem. I'm guessing someone'll wonder why there is a missing boy now."

Alban pressed a small bump in his sword, which made it become a silver pocket knife, and he flicked it shut. "I don't suppose you'd know my parentage, though. I'm Alban Becker, son of Apollo."

Jason sighed when the kid didn't laugh. "Apollo? Isn't he..." he wracked his brain to remember. "Isn't he the god of music...or something like that?" Jason squinted at the kid as the other kid stabbed him. He gasped when he could make out that he only had one eye. He backed up a few feet, and his foot hit the book that had been thrown away. He stumbled on it, and fell down on his bum. "Oof, croikey!" He slowly stood back up, and turned to the kid, Alban. "So...Alban, mate, do you know where I could get a spare pair of glasses? Mine got smashed."

"Well, Apollo's the god of music, the lyre, light, and truth. Not as spread out as Hermes," Alban laughed, thinking of his uncle, Hermes. "Apollo is the prophetic god, so if you ever need to know something, I could ask my dad. I don't keep regular contact, but as normal contact as Iris and Hermes allow, considering they're the messengers. I don't know where to get glasses, sorry."

Alban looked at the glasses, broken, half a lens missing. "No point in trying those on. Follow me. There's supposed to be a store here somewhere."

Alban found a store with an arm and hammer symbol on the front window. "This is especially concealed from mortal eyes. It's where I got the pocket knife."

Alban knocked on the door. "Uncle Hephaestus?"

Jason looked at the store. He had seen it before, many times, although he never knew that he, and others of his kind, were the only ones who could see it. He heard the Greek name spoken, and paused. "Isn't he the god of the...forge or something?" Jason asked as he followed Alban into the store. He wondered how Hephaestus would be able to get him glasses, when he spent most of his energy on things like swords, and blades, and things like that. Oh well. I don't need any of those, I have my bow, and arrows Jason thought, in response to a silent inquiry of maybe they were going to get him a weapon.

"Well, Hephaestus is a god, and he maybe the god of the forge, but he can make just about anything. Only half-bloods and gods can see it, and nymphs. But it's disguised to normal humans," Alban said, waiting at the front door. "Even if you do enter by mistake, it just seems like an empty hardware store. Hephaestus has to let you in. And it's really annoying when he's on lunch break."

"Come on in, Alban!" a gruff voice yelled from inside.

Alban entered the store Jason in tow. The walls were lined with weapons, and when Hephaestus saw Jason, his expression became confused. "Y'know humans aren't allowed in here, Alban."

"He's a half-blood. Son of Artemis," Alban explained, "And he needs a pair of glasses."

Jason could just make out the shape of a large humanoid, and heard the gruff voice. Hephaestus must be quite large. He gulped, and quivered a little. "Croikey," he muttered to himself. He gulped again, and tried to speak. "My name is Jason," he said, trying to be friendly. "It's a real privilege to know Alban; he...he's a great find among sharks...mate." He relaxed a little when he was not yelled at. That's another thing he received a lot of: yelling. Bullies yelled, kids he didn't know yelled, sometimes even teachers yelled at him. "Excuse me, Hephaestus, if you don't mind me callin' you that, mate, but could you take a look at my bow? I've been wondering what it was made of, and I could just never figure it out."

((Are my little dialogue edits helping show his Australian accent, by the way?))
