[spoiler=Lore]This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by Tributing 1 "Lava Dragon" and 1 DARK Dragon-Type monster you control. This card gains 500 ATK for each Dragon-Type monster on the field and in your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type monster from your hand, and place 1 Fiendfire Counter on this card. During your End Phase, inflict 300 damage to your Life Points for each Fiendfire Counter on this card. When this card has 5 or more Fiendfire Counters on it, you can remove all Fiendfire Counters from this card to inflict damage to your opponent equal to this card's ATK. Negate the effect(s) of all Spell, Trap, and Monster Cards that target a Dragon-Type monster you control.

[spoiler=Lore]This card can be Special Summoned when a Dragon-Type monster you control is destroyed by battle. When this card is successfully Special Summoned, select 1 Level 5 or lower Dragon-Type monster from your Deck, show it to your opponent, and add it to your hand. When the selected monster is Normal Summoned, equip this card to the selected monster. The equipped monster cannot be targeted by a card effect as long as your Life Points are lower than your opponent's. If this card is destroyed by a card effect while equipped to a monster, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the number of Dragon-Type monsters in your Graveyard x 300.

I vote for Fusion:

The Dragon Tamer is less overpowered, easier to Summon and a decent card searcher. But the rest of her effect is not really useful: she can do better as a beatstick or Tribute fodder.

The Phoenix, on the other hand, can gain insane an amount of ATK (Future Fusion and target 5-Headed Dragon to increase this card's ATK by 2500 instantly) and is yet another Dragon-Type summoner. Yeah, its Summoning Condition is a bit difficult to fulfill, but once you Summon it, your opponent cannot do much to stop it.

I vote Fusion. His card, to me, has a better pic and is more balanced. Skull-kun's (that's your name now) is more difficult to summon and is OP'ed if you have a Dragon-Type deck. Even then, Skull-kun's Summoning effect can be OP'ed because it has no Lvl restrictions, letting you Special Summon a powerful monster without tribute AND doing that Counter effect. Fusion's more balanced and is a great searcher.

Fusion, sorry Cortez/Skull/whatever you want. Your card is more of a card of it's own, and offers little support to Dragons. Cept maybe the Special Summoning but that makes it op'd since it doesn't require a Level for the Dragon. And basically, you negated anything from harming a Dragon, further OP'd, even if it does support Dragons in a great manner. To be able to keep Special Summoning Dragon-Type monsters, giving the Phoenix 500 more ATK at the same time, AND in the Graveyard, then at 5 Fiendfire Counters, you can practically obliterate your opponent.

Fusion's card shows quite abit of support, and balances things out, allowing you to bring a Level 5 or lower Dragon to your hand, which means you need to wait to Summon it, and your opponent gets to know what it is first. Along with the fact that the Tamer can equip to the Dragon, although I do think you're suppose to say "When the selected monster is Normal Summoned, you can treat this card as a Union Monster" blah blah.

So, Fusion gets my vote.
