'Finally!' Wayne yelled. 'Can I have a sword now?'

Holly stepped back. 'That's a dracenae, right?

 

Xaiklez paused. Sense things? A cave? 'How do you know?'

 

Everybody went back to camp relatively peacfully. Desiree found an exit that came out fairly close to Camp Half-Blood, and Marissa used the Axe's powers to avoid monsters, whenever monsters did appear, as well as to convince Hades to let Dante return to the realm of the living.

 

Damian grinned, standing next to Shade. 'So let me get this straight. You are going to get me out of the underworld just so that I can help Kronos?'

Shade nodded, then took Damian's hand, and Damian turned transparent, like Shade.

'Let's move.'

Nikki was sitting cross-legged in the Athena cabin, along with Marissa and Desiree, attempting to remember everything she had forgotten. It was hard enough as it was, but Nikki was completely unable to recall almost anything after Marissa had died. Since the three had a weak form of telepathy between them, Marissa, when she was a ghost, still was able to hear Nikki's thoughts, albeit weakly, and so Nikki had a vague outline of what had happened. It wasn't much, but it was something. However, this still frustrated Nikki immensly. How am I supposed to know anything during the time when she was gone? How can I know anything about it? And even after Desiree and Marissa had returned to the living world, Nikki still found herself unable to remember.

 

Dante admired his own bead of the Fleece, along with his ten others, then walked over to Brian. 'So, you staying this winter? We'll probably have enough time to get another Weapon. Or at least,' He lowered his voice, 'It'd help Nikki if everybody from the quest was here with her.'

"I don't really understand it, but I can feel things in this darkness. I just know whats here, whats around me. It isn't sight, so don't ask," explained Harry. "Come on guys, let's get going. It's not like there is a conveyor belt to take us down the tunnel." He laughed at his own joke. He stepped forward, before realizing something. "Where in Hades are we? How can something like this possibly exist without the mortals knowing? I mean, there couldn't possibly be enough mist to cover something like this!"

'Hmm...' Xaiklez frowned. 'I think... I don't think there is enough Mist in the world to cover this. I think... We're in...' Xaiklez froze. 'Keres.' She breathed, then spun around, her bow already in her hand. But how would that be possible? She thought to herself, before realizing that when you were dealing with protogenoi goddesses, such as Nyx, anything was possible. Even... The mortals know what's going on in this place... They just don't know that it's real. The mortals... they see this place in their dreams. The realm of Nyx... The mortals can see through gaps in the mist, and they call those flashes of clarity... they call them dreams.

Jecht looked at the new bead. "And they get all the glory." He muttered feeling a little jealous that they risked their lives but nobody even gave them a bit of reconition. Then his mind shifted to the end of the year at Camp. "Go or stay?" He asked himself aloud while sitting at the edge of the lake. His feet touching the water but only just. Jecht thought about being able just to have a normal year at school being able to get away from the thought of monsters and gods but he knew there was no running from what the mortals knew nothing about. Jecht decided to think about it later and stood up. He thought he go and vist Nikki after her sacrifice in at Lethe. He walked up to the Athena cabin and knocked on the door. Without waiting for any sort of respone he entered to see Nikki along with Disiree and Marissa. "Any luck?" He asked Disiree and Marissa referring to Nikki's loss of memory.

OoC: OH SHOOT! i 4got we had to talk about Thalia....

IC:Brian smiled at Dante. "You're right Lets stay." He said making up his mind.

 

TIME JUMP the last one i promise.

 

Brian ran through the snow leaving a huge wave of snow behind him as he ran to the hermes cabin. He crossed the lake running so quickly over the thin ice it didn't even crack. Once he was inside he vibrated quickly dropping all the snow to the ground. "HEY WATCH IT!" the stolls yelled running to wipe up the water. "We just cleaned you know how hard that is this is usually the biggest cabin. The winter is the only chance we have." Brian apologized. "I was just at the big house talking to Chiron about Annabeth and Thalia leaving.

Shade flew Damian out of the Underworld, passing through the ceiling as easily as through air, then floated down to the streets of Long Island Sound.

'So,' Shade said, after Damian had told him his plan. 'This will ensure the gods' downfall, even if Kronos somehow fails?'

Damian nodded. 'I will see to it that the gods will be too busy with Keto to protect themselves from Kronos.'

Shade grinned. 'A triple threat, huh? Kronos, Keto, and a Drakon? The gods won't have a chance.'

Desiree shrugged. 'We're having trouble with what happened after Marissa killed the Minotaur. She remembers some things, though.'

Nikki nodded. 'Bits and pieces. Nothing big. And for the record, I only saved you once.'

Marissa looked at her strangely. 'You remember that but nothing else?'

Nikki shrugged hopelessly. 'When you forget everything else, you pay attention to what you do remember. Who was it that fought the cyclops, again?'

Zephyr walked over to the door of his house sadly. Tiaden and Xaiklez had been gone for months now, and Zephyr hadn't heard from them since. Zephyr opened the door slowly, then stepped back when two men forced their way inside. Mace standing behind him, Damian announced, 'Zephyr, aren't you? I have a message, from Xaiklez.'

Zephyr took another step back. 'Xaiklez? Is she all right?'

Damian shook his head sadly. 'I'm sorry. Xaiklez was killed last week, when a harpy attacked her. My name is Dante Brimston. Before she died, she told me to tell you... to tell you that she... she - I'm sorry to say this, Zephyr, but Xaiklez... I think she was trying to undermine the group. A cell phone was found in her pack, broadcasting a signal to monsters. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but... Xaiklez gave her live to kill the others. To harm the gods. I think that she was working for Kronos from the beginning.'

Zephyr fell back heavily into his chair. 'No... that's impossible... I know her... Xaiklez would never do such a thing.'

Damian shook his head, then slipped outside, followed by Mace. Their job was done. Minutes later, Shade flew out through the side of the house.

'Couldn't find it.' He shrugged. 'Couldn't find any list of prophecies. Sorry, boss.'

 

ooc: I'm done time jumping now too. Anything else I post will happen in present time.

"Well, maybe things'll get better over time." Jecht said hopefully.

Jecht was sitting in the ampitheter in the snow, looking at a small mirror while wrapped in a large coat. He stared at the three large scars on his face. Maybe I was stupid to leave this on my face. Over the time of the quest he had forgotten about the deep scratches on his face. Yeah, that was stupid. He thought and tossed the mirror and looked to where it landed in the snow. The ampitheater was the place Jecht went just to think or to just be alone, by himself. He layed down in the snow embracing the cold.

Nikki walked over to Jecht. 'A scar tells a story, remember? You didn't think you were stupid for keeping the scars then, why would you think that now? You had a chance. You still do.' She sat down next to him.

Nikki's memory had been recovering nicely over the past few months. There were still some holes, but she remembered most of what had happened.

'I have the Axe if you want them healed. As I said back at the restaurant, it's your choice. All I'm going to say is this: Brian called your injury some punk shot from an empousa. You called it something to remember Camp by. I call it proof that even if you had the ability to heal your wounds, you didn't. And the way I see it, that's proof enough that you're better suited to wield Alkahest than anyone else. Jacob, or Titin, or me.' She took out the Axe, then held it out to him. 'Your choice.'

 

ooc: There were five scars, not three.

"But, aren't the Keres some sort of Death-Fates?" But, before Xaiklez could reply, a huge beast bonded out of the cave, and ran right past them. It was bigger then anything Harry had ever seen. "What- What was that? It was huge. I could feel the air gushing as it passed. Whatever it was, it wasn't a good sign. If this is what we're facing... Well, let's just say it isn't good. That beats had power, but nothing compared to what I can feel emanating from this cave."

IC: Jecht sat up and looked at her. "You know I hate it when you read my mind but, then again I was looking in a mirror and with my face what else could I be looking at?" He said jokingly but seriously thought about what she had said for a moment. Jecht remebered his reflection in the mirror and touched one of the scars with the tips of his fingers then once again turned down the chance to mend what would be on his face for the rest of his life. "Yeah, I made my decision and I'll stick to it." Then he stood and shook the snow from his clothes. "I think I'm gonna go to the archery range, coming with?" He asked to Nikki.

Xaiklez stepped back when the beast ran past them. 'That thing was huge.' Then she turned to the cave. 'I feel it. Nyx is in here.'

Tiaden's eyes widened. 'So let me get this straight. We're going towards the thing that made that horrible monster!?! You people are mental.'

 

Nikki nodded, then she stood up as well. 'So why exactly did you give me this?' She gestured to the brightly shining necklace around her neck. 'You never did say.' And why does it glow like a magic item? It doesn't seem to have any powers. It's pretty, sure, but that's hardly magic.

"Not mental, determined. And, just for your information, Nyx isn't fully awake, so when we finish the job, we might just have things quite a bit bigger then that to deal with. In fact... That might just be the weakest thing we see (or don't) for a while. I wonder..." Harry took out a flashlight which he had packed. He tried turning it on. Amazingly enough, it turned on and lit the path. "I can't believe that worked!" He began to walk down the tunnel.

"Hm? Oh that," Jecht said walking with Nikki towards the archery range and shrugged. "I dunno. I got the necklace origonally as a present when I was but maybe five years old from my granddad." He said remembering the day he got it. "He hand me some old decrepted wooden boxand I opened it, then oulled out the necklace. He told he it was something really specially made by a son of Apollo, at that age I didn't know what he meant and didn't really care, and he wante me to have it. I then asked him what I was supposed to do with it. He replied back to me with a smile, 'Give it to someone you really care about.' then he leaned in and whispered to me with a wink, 'A girl maybe.' " Jecht said going through the very old memory.

Tiaden shook his head. 'Determined to die, maybe.' But he followed them just the same.

 

Meanwhile, Dante, chatting with Holly on Half-Blood Hill, drew Omega and impaled it into the ground, where it blended in perfectly with the snow, then replied to Holly's question, 'Basically, I'm back alive because a friend of mine convinced Hades to free me.'

Holly blinked in surprise. 'And how exactly would you convince Hades, lord of the dead, to give up on a lost soul?'

Dante shrugged. 'The Alkahest Axe.'

 

Just then Wayne ran up to Dante. 'Chiron wants to talk to you.'

Dante shrugged again, sheathed his blade, then ran off towards the Big House.

 

Diana stumbled over the boundaries of camp, thouroughly exhausted. Holly ran over to help her, while Wayne walked back to the Dionysus cabin.

'Are you okay?' Holly asked Diana, who nodded weakly.

 

Nikki nodded slowly, smiling slightly. 'Thank you.' She said quietly, and the two of them walked silently along, until Nikki said, 'So, you have quite the thing for necklaces, huh?'

Without really thinking Jecht said the first thing that came to his mind. "Depends on who's wearing the necklace really." He said with a small smile. Once they arrived at the archery range Jecht stepped up to the targets which wear halfway covered in snow. He wiped on of the targets clean with his hand, clearing it of the snow and walked back to a considerate distance and strung his bow. He took a deep breath and took aim, then fired his bow. Jecht watched as the arrow sliced easily through the and planted itself just outside of the middle of the bull's eye. He placed an arrow on his bow and readied it again. Then again fired it and the arrow landed to the middle right of the target. "Would you like a go?"

Brian ran up to Dante short of breath. "THERE, you are!" He said placing a hand on his chest to stop him. "I need to tell you something." I was searching the attic for clues on the next weapon and the Oracle smoke to me.

Somewhere deep beneath the frost

A forbidden box, with hope, was lost

Humble yourself so you can see

what is there for you, and three

though evil is a tad too large

with courage you shall take charge

A hidden secret soon begot

a hope of love will be forgot

Brian looked at Dante for signs of understanding

Nikki shrugged. 'I'm good.' She pulled her coat tighter around herself, then her eyes narrowed. I remember... but why now? Why at all? Why couldn't I have at least forgotten that part? Nikki bit her lip in anguish.

 

Dante left the Big House several minutes later, examining his two longswords. I wonder... which one would actually hide me better, if I needed to? Nightslayer usually bends darkness around me, but Omega... Omega fits in with the snow... Dante entertained himself for a while with this pointless debate, until Brian ran up to him and told him the prophecy.

Dante stared at him for several seconds, then grinned.

'The life of a seriously epic demigod is never done, huh? I'm guessing you want me on the quest with you?'

Nate watched the Dracanae very carefully. It did not see him and he did not want to startle it. He quietly took out his bow and strung an arrow. Then he took aim, prayed to Apollo for good aim, and fired. The Dracanae turned to dust instantly. Soon Wayne started to whine about not being able to fight it, and Holly got mad because she was a pacifist. "Ok, ok!" Nate said to the others. "Next time I'll ask you guys first!" They all laughed and noticed Clarrise entering camp with the Fleece. The ran over and started cheering. Then they got quiet with all the others as Thalia appeared.

 

OOC: i am going to take my character to winter now.

IC: It was cold. Very cold. But Nate didn't mind. He almost liked cold. He had already signed up to be a year round camper and was having a good time in the Apollo Cabin, with Jecht and the others. Everyone was friendly, yet he knew there was tension from Thaila returning. But he knew the prophecy. He understood perferctly. He went over to the archery range where he found Jecht helping Nikki shoot targets. He didn't bother them. He went to the other side of the range and started shooting. Why can't I get a girl like that, he sighed.

Brian noddded. "But I feel like it's not for me." HE said looking out at the snow. "Im going to let whoever feels right come along." He stoped. "Maybe they'll find us." He pulled out his phone where the prophecy was written. "Well we need to figure out what this means. Lets tell Jetch about it maybe he can figure something out." Brian said skidding off the snow and running toward the targeting range. I wonder where Beneath the snow is? Brian thought running through a pile of snow that exploded to either side as he ran through it. Humble yourself so you can see... Brian could not figure out what this had to do with under ground. Though evil is a tad too large...SIZE! Brian skid to a stop spraying snow on Nikki and Jetch as he reached them. "Sorry," He said to Nikki before turning to Jetch. "There's a new prophecy." He said his hand on his forehead as he recited the poem yet again.

Jecht wiped the snow that now covered him and listened intently to the prophecy. "Beneath the frost, something to do with underground. A forbidden box with hope." Jecht said assesing the poem line by line. He did a mental search engine with anything to do with a box of hope. A few things came to mind but the number one thing was Pandora's box. "Pandora?" He asked but the the rest of the prophecy was a mystery except for the obivs you and three line which of course meant another 4 person quest.

"I think thats our problem" Brian joked. "We never take the suggested three." But beneath what frost?" Brian asked looking around at the snow. "Oh shoot." He said.

 

This was ridiculous. Here She was freezing her butt of after 12 years living in the tropical ocean. Her Dad would owe her big time. She thought, crossing the boundry easily and walking straight past the big house. She'd heard of the camp before even though she was forbidden to live here since the prophecy. Her father had NO self control, he sees a mortal and is all over her. Alice rolled her eyes and pulled the coat closer to her neck. She walked toward the boys she had been told about since Posoiedon had better sight on land during the winter. HEr brother had been allowed to live there but that was because her dad had a "feeling" She couldn't stand having to say she was the daughter of a meeger "river" god when she was the daughter of the Powerful Posoiedon.

Zelkiax climbed out of the taxi, outside of Camp Half-Blood. 'He's at Camp Half-Blood', she said. As if. But at least I can... even the odds. Zelkiax climbed out of the taxi, then walked over to Half-Blood Hill, passing through the boundaries easily. He looked around, before his eye came to rest on Holly helping Diana to the Big House. Zelkiax grinned, then began running forward, only to be knocked back by Marissa, who was standing there invisibly. Marissa grinned evilly, her knife drawn, and she turned visible.

'Remember me, Zelkiax?' Her lilting voice dripped with sarcasm. 'Remember L.A?'

Zelkiax took a step back, then drew his widesword. 'All too well. Invert!'

The everything within a twenty meter radius flared brightly, and then it was impossible to see what was going on. Zelkiax's Inverter's Gem had reversed everything visible. Marissa took a step back, and then Zelkiax struck. His blade cut Marissa's arm, and he was about to finish her off, when Marissa let out a bloodcurdling laugh, and slammed Zelkiax with the hilt of the Alkahest Axe, knocking him several feet away. Marissa scrambled to her feet, her eyes glowing golden, her wound instantly healing.

'Oh yeah.' She breathed, her voice layered in energy. 'Get lost, Zelkiax. Now!'

 

Nikki nodded. 'It's Pandora's Box, definitely. Too large... All I can think of is that the wielder of the Alkahest Sword can increase their size and power, like Titin did.' She glanced at Brian's phone. 'I'm sorry, but I don't think we'll be able to bring the sword with us. You could leave it behind. Humble yourself by giving away a powerful Weapon. Underground is some help. A hope of love may have something to do with Aphrodite...' Nikki paused, and her eyes widened. 'Each Alkahest Item increases a physical trait. The Sword increases agility, the Bow increases wisdom, the Axe increases strength, the Lance increases courage, the Crown...' Nikki trailed off, realizing what she had just said. 'The Lance. I think we need the Alkahest Lance before we can go any farther.'

Dante followed Brian, and, listening to Nikki's ideas about the prophecy, he noticed that Nikki had completely avoided the hidden secret line.

 

Marissa replaced the Axe, then glanced at Alice, and walked over to her. 'And you are?'

 

Desiree appeared behind Nate, turning visible instantly. 'Believe me, you don't want somebody like Nikki for a girlfriend. I don't know if Jecht is aware of this, or if he even cares, but he's making a huge mistake.'

 

ooc: By the way BlueEyes22, and everybody else for that matter, keep in mind that Nikki, Marissa, and Desiree are completely identical, except for Nikki's necklace. I'm not sure if you're aware of that yet.

IC: "Oh, I know, it just..." his voice trailing off. He knew he was blushing, because Desiree looked exactly like Nikki, who he was thinking fondly about. "It's just that I want to get a girlfriend, not Nikki specifically but, well... I don't know what to do." He didn't know what to do at all, all he knew was that he would have to help keep the camp and the campers safe if the time came, and that he was freezing outside. "It's cold out. You want to go inside somewhere and warm up?"

IC: Desiree shrugged, and started walking towards the nearest building. 'I mean it, Nate. Nikki's dangerous. You didn't see her when we were fighting Jacob. You wouldn't want to. Nikki... Nikki is miserable. And you have no idea how easy it is to turn sadness... to turn it into hate.' Desiree trailed off, as they entered Nate's cabin, the Apollo Cabin. 'And hate is like water. It drowns out every other emotion, until Hate's all that's left. And then you don't control yourself anymore. Hate does. And when your entire life is ruled by hatred... You lash out. You lose control of yourself, and hurt the people you care about. And then, before you know it... your father is dead, your brother is dead, and you're alone.' Desiree's voice cracked. 'And then there's nothing left, nothing but sadness. It's a cycle. A cycle of hatred. Of death. Of misery.'

As they walked, Harry noticed side paths, leading to distant chambers. He could hear snorts and movement from those chambers. Monsters were near. "Guys, you need to be as quiet as possible. There are beats that have never been seen just out of sight. We must not anger them." He spoke so quietly, it was barely audible. But, just to prove his point, a distant monster growled. It reverberated off the walls, sounding much louder then it should have. Despite that, it was enough to put Harry's hair on end.
