"Extra hard." said Harry. Xaiklez pressed start and immediately the notes started coming. Harry didn't recognize the song. "Never heard this before. And I've played all the songs."

 

"That's what you think, but I have connections. All gods do. We tend to get our way, and i wanted some extra songs." responded Zephyrus.

 

"I should've guess." said Harry, still focusing on the game.

[Jakeronijo]

"Get out of here or fight me!" Jacob said pointing his sword at Nikki. His face changed signalling that that was no longer him but an illusion as the real Jacob stepped away invisibly sneaking past Melinoe into her lair for the Axe. Jacob's double held his sword in both hands and pointed it at Nikki. "Go on run. Your not strong enough to face me here get out while you still can in fact, take a dip in the Lethe you'll forget everything and your sorrow will be gone." He said with a smirk. "Leave me with the Axe let someone who knows how to use it handle it." He said as a swarm of Furries, more than there actually are in the underworld, flew towards the two.

 

Brian who was running slid to a stop near the Lethe then leaped into the air and landed on the other side and continued until he saw the furries. "They can't die here can they?" He asked himself before leaping into the air and slashing at one who dissipated as he hit it.Illusions He thought looking at JAcob. And he's to blame. He said swooping down to attack him.

Nikki shook her head sadly. 'I don't want to fight you. I won't. But we[/b[ will.' Marissa appeared behind Nikki, dagger drawn. 'I'll take a dip in the Lethe, alright, but I'm keeping the Axe. In fact, why don't you go swimming instead?' Invisibly, Desiree stabbed the illusion of Jacob from behind, and it disintigrated. Nikki turned to face Jacob. The real Jacob.

'Every Alkahest Item has a guardian. I was hoping it wouldn't be you.' The swarm of furies vanished, as Desiree used her powers in an attempt to cancel out Jacob's. Marissa jumped over the Lethe, and turned around, saying, 'Get out of here, Jacob. Once we get the Axe, you'll die, and I'll be able to use the Axe to convince Hades to get you stuck in Tartarus for eternity!'

Nikki glared at Jacob. 'You think that your powers of illusions work on us? I wouldn't be too sure. You can't lie to a lier.' Nikki dropped her ring and knife to the ground.

 

Xaiklez grinned, perfectly hitting every note. 'I, on the other hand, know exactly how this song goes, meaning that I can keep perfect time to it. And once you've got time down, the rest is easy.'

Tiaden gaped, amazed that is was possible to even play half of the notes that were on the screen. 'Oh my gods.'

Jacob stepped back. He didn't know he had so many "sisters." Nikki would have been easy but all these girls were different. Nikki was weak. Her friends were smart. He backed up but kept his sword drawn. "Alright then, lets fight. Without any special powers." He said stepping up to her. "That Axe is mine you'll never get it." Jacob slashed down-ward with his sword and then turned and ran.

Brian was surprised as the Furries disappeared and he flew down toward Jacob at a super sonic speed breaking the sound barrier as he crashed into Jacob. There was a huge boom that shook the area and deafening everyone for a few minutes. Jacob hit Brian in the face with the hilt of his sword but Brian was faster and he punched him in the chest and then swiped with his leg and tripped him. His caduceus blasted Jacob back and then he pointed the sharp point at his throat. His lips moved but no one heard him give Jacob a last chance.

The song finished. "Ha!" said Harry. "100% Take that!" Then he noticed what Xaiklez got.

 

"It appears we have a tie then." said Zephyrus, noticing the two perfect scores. Suddenly, the plane jolted. "Probably just turbulence. We'd better sit down." The lights inside of the plane flashed. "I think we have been noticed by Nyx..." The lights turned off.

 

"Did I just here growling..." asked Harry. The lights flashed on. There, in the middle of the plane, stood a Hellhound, towering above them.

After a brief discussion with Shade, Melinoe released Dante from her enchantment. Dante grunted and stood back up unsteadily.

 

Nikki rolled her eyes. 'You finally realize that our powers are stronger, and now you want a fair fight? We don't think so.' Nikki grinned. 'The thing is, we have the power of three goddesses.' She snapped her fingers, and Iris messages began appearing around Jacob, obscuring his vision. '-Yeah, I-' '-Honestly-' 'WAMP!' A cacaphony of voices came out of the rainbow visions. Nikki's eyes glowed in the light. Then another copy of Nikki appeared, and another, bringing the total to five demigods against Jacob. 'Get ready to die.' Her voice sounded demonic, layered in magic. 'You can't survive our powers, even with the Axe. We have been enchanted by the Scepter. The Alkahest Scepter is indestructable, and that means that so am I!'

 

Dante took a step back with a sinking feeling. Titin had said those same words when he had been fighting back on Half-Blood Hill. Substitute 'The Alkahest Scepter' for 'This Blade' and it was an exact match.

 

Xaiklez was completely unaffected by the power outage. Her bow was already drawn, and then there were three arrows in the muzzle of the hound, which promptly disintigrated.

"Nice shots." said Harry, picking up the arrows. "Here," he said, handing them back. "You'll need all of your arrows."

 

"I'm afraid this is your stop." said Zephyrus. He walked to a closet and pulled out three back packs. "Parachutes," he explained. "Jump now. we're right above Nyx's realm."

 

"How do you kn-" started Harry, before being cut off.

 

"I just do," responded Zephyrus gruffly. Harry took his pack without further words and strapped it on.

Xaiklez declined the arrows. 'My quiver doesn't run out.'

Then Tiaden strapped his parachute on. 'Sayonara, suckers!' He yelled, then jumped out, freefalling towards the realm of night, calling behind him, 'I always wanted to say that!'

Xaiklez took the parachute Zephyrus handed her, and held it uncertainly.

 

Nikki walked slowly over to the Lethe, stepping out of her shoes as she did so. She glanced at Marissa, and a sort of telepathy passed between them. Marissa took over controlling the illusions and Iris Messages Nikki had conjured, while Nikki stepped right over to the edge of the Lethe.

"Nikki?!" Jecht called out seeing her walk into the river, where all of her memories were going to be wiped clean and she wouldn't remember a thing. Can't stop her now. He thought whishing he had gone in instead of her. In mythology Jecht knew the dead would go into Lethe before they could live another life so they wouldn't remember any of their past lives that they had lived and he knew that meant everything would be gone. He wanted to go in after her to stop her but knew that would be a really stupid thing to do since both of their memories would be lost.

ooc: Oh sorry.

IC: Nikki turned around for the last time, tears in her eyes. 'Remember me, even if I can't remember you.' She whispered, and then she fell backwards into the river.

The shock hit Marissa and Desiree like a hammer. They both crumpled to the ground, and the illusions they had created vanished, the Iris Messages flickering out one by one, the duplicates imploding in on themselves. Both were unconcious in moments.

 

Underwater, Nikki's thought quickly began to vanish. Minor thoughts, but for some reason she remembered the important things so far. But mostly, she remembered her job. Find the Axe... find the Axe... find the Axe... Nikki repeated this to herself, and somehow remembered it. Meanwhile, memories from her life flashed through her mind.

 

A small girl is sitting in the kitchen, talking with an old man, while eating a large piece of chocolate.

'But Grandpa,' The younger Nikki replies, 'If chocolate is healthy, then why does Daddy say that it's not good to eat my chocolate for dinner?'

'Well, Nikki, maybe it's because something else is in the chocolate that makes it bad for you.' Nikki's grandfather leans down to see Nikki face to face. 'Pure chocolate is healthy, but there's some unhealthy stuff in it.'

Nikki pauses. 'Mummy says it has peanuts. Does that mean that peanuts are unhealthy?'

The old man laughs happily. 'Yes. Yes, that's exactly what it means. Your daddy won't let you eat chocolate for dinner because peanuts are unhealthy.'

 

Nikki finally reached the bottom of the river, and began searching for the Axe. At first, she looked for a bright gold, but then she realized that the water would weaken it to a dull yellow, so she began searching much more carefully, as scenes from her past floated through her mind, only to disappear forever afterwords. Nikki could no longer remember why she wanted the Axe, or even how many Alkahest Items there were. The battle with Jacob was already forgotten, as were the names of the campers who were on the quest with her. Nikki forgot the Alkahest Prophecy, and soon forgot where she was swimming. Nikki was losing her memory.

OoC: So what happened to Jacob?

 

Jacob was suprised that without one the other two were helpless. Brian pulled away the caduceus and when Jacob moved he turned it into a sword and Jacob fell back down. Brian looked at Nikki. Nikki was as good as dead now. Her soul was erased. She no longer existed. Your memories are part of who we are and without them Nikki does not exist. Brian wiped away a tear. "C'mon kid." He said lifting JAcob up and bolting out of the underworld and leaving him in the park befor rushing back.

Nikki finally found the Axe, and she managed to pull it out of the ground. Suddenly, her mind cleared. Why? She asked herself, but her memory was already too far gone for her to remember that if water cancelled Alkahest, then Alkahest also cancelled water. Not important. Swim out... swim out... swim out... Nikki began weakly swimming towards the surface, weighed down by the Axe. But to what? Nikki couldn't remember. She had forgotten the entire quest by this time, as well as much of her time at Camp Half-Blood. Moments later, Nikki's head broke the surface, and she began struggling out of the Lethe, dragging the Axe weakly behind her.

Harry jumped out of the plane, immediately after Tiaden. The sensation was like nothing he had ever felt. Free falling was incredible. Slowly he reached terminal velocity. He noticed the ground was getting closer. Then he realized this was normal and expected. He pulled the string and his parachute came out. He slowed immediately. He gently drifted to the ground where he landed. It was all dark. He couldn't see anything. He turned. Somehow, he could sense Tiaden a few hundred meters in front of him, he took out his flashlight and began walking.

Brian didn't want to touch her but needed to help. A strong wind blew through the cavern chilling everyone's spine but drying Nikki off decently. He ran up to help her probably forgetting a few simple facts as he supported her. she's not even going to know who I am. He thought helping her away. He forgot how to spell missi..misse--missiippe-ss...He forgot that word as he wiped some water off before stepping back because he was sure it counted as sexual harassment if she didn't know him. "What can we do?" Brian asked. "She ca't keep the blade if she's no smarter than a kindergartener..."

'Wh-where am I?' Nikki stood up weakly. 'Who are you? What happened? Why did I get this Axe? And who are you calling a kindergartener? I think I know considerably more than that.' Her eyes narrowed slightly. 'More than you could ever imagine.' Marissa and Desiree, She was thinking, forgetting that Brian already knew about them. And the Alkahest Items.

Evidently, Nikki's memory had not been wiped completely. But she did not remember anything that happened recently, since before she had come to Camp Half-Blood. Nikki looked around. 'Are we in... the Underworld?!' Then she noticed Marissa and Desiree's unconcious forms. 'Oh... oh gods...' She turned around, and stared at the Lethe. When she turned around, her expression was grim. 'I got this Axe out of the River Lethe, didn't I? That's why I don't know who you are. I should know you guys, shouldn't I?'

 

Xaiklez finally got her parachute on, and dived down into Nyx's Realm. She pulled the ripcord, and landed lightly on the ground. 'So, where to now?' She asked to nobody in particular. Then she started walking forwards confidently.

Brian nodded. "We went to camp together. This is my first year." Brian said and what a year it's been. he thought. "so what are you going to do with the axe?" He asked pointing to it. "You might want to store it somewhere a kid named Jacob is going to be looking for it. He showed her his phone. "Thats the blade." he said pointing to a small icon in a folder called Attic I can store it there but if you have a better idea thats okay.

 

OoC: Hello those of you involved in this Struggle. PLease get y ou characters in order and ready for a time-jump i would be hoping to have within the next few pages. I know Luna Lovegood has been going on a quest and right now Brian, Dante, and Nikki and Jetch have found two weapons already and I would like to either end the summer and goto a winter that was in Titan's curse, OR the following summer that included the battle of the labrynth. If anyone has any arguements PM me and ill adress them.

'So that means I go... did go, to Camp Half-Blood?' Nikki looked at the Axe in her hand, thinking about all the trouble it could cause. She thought about all the Alkahest Items. The Bow, Sword, Axe, Javelin, Scepter, and Crown... 'I...' She got an idea. She reached into her pocket, but paused. 'It's not there anymore, is it? I must have removed it and forgotten. This is going to get annoying.' Then something occurred to her. 'How much do you guys know? About the Alkahest Items?' How much do they know? I can't let slip any information they aren't aware of. Classic deception. She thought. But why? She asked herself doubtfully. Why decieve? As I said to Sula, back at Camp Half Blood, Deception upon Deception is no way for the world to exist. This last thought confused Nikki. Who is Sula? I never said that... I would have forgotten... What's wrong with me? Not important! Learn what you can from them, then leave them and get the rest of the Alkahest Items on your own! Nikki was unsure what her motives were. Was I going along with them to take the Items, or to help them? I wouldn't have given my memory to betray them later, too uncertain. But I'd know I was going to betray them afterwords anyway! Deception it is. But there was still a nagging doubt in the back of her mind. They know about Desiree and Marissa... We must have trusted them... Oh, I don't know!

"Well her mind wasn't completely erased." Jecht said to himself mostly. He didn't know what to so now. She had the axe but couldn't remember a thing with a few exceptions. How can we convince her to trust us?! He thought distressed. Just think for a minute. But Jecht's mind drew a break. The necklace Jecht gave Nikki had been glowing this whole time but immedatily dimmed at the exact moment Nikki has touch the Rive Lethe. On the back of the necklace it had Jecht's name engraved on it. Jecht thought that might be something he could use but he doubted it.

Nikki suddenly noticed the necklace around her neck. She took it off and looked at it. 'Why am I wearing this?' So now apparently I've accepted a gift from someone named... She glanced at the engraving. Jecht. How close to this group was I?

Marissa sat up suddenly. Nobody had realized that she and Desiree had been concious for several minutes, regaining their energy. 'Where's Jacob?' She asked, her stiletto instantly drawn. Then she saw the Axe held in her counterpart's hand. 'You got it!' She jumped up, and took the Axe from Nikki, examining it. 'I knew it would work. You remember me and Desiree, right Nikki?'

Nikki nodded uncertainly. 'What am I doing here?'

As Desiree began stirring as well, Marissa told Nikki that, 'Basically, us six are on a quest to get the six Alkahest Items. Brian here,' She gestured to Brian, 'has the Sword, and now you've got the Axe. I dunno about the necklace, though. Jecht,' She gestured to Jecht now, 'Must have given that to you after I died.'

Nikki took a step back. 'D-died?'

Marissa shrugged. 'I came back.'

Desiree got up. 'Whatever. Let's go back to camp. We'll explain there.'

 

 

Back at Camp, Holly and Wayne had been paired up, along with a new camper named Nate, for border patrol. Wayne was walking along dejectedly, wishing he had a weapon. Everybody else has one! Why not me!? I'm not too small!

'So...' Holly looked strangely out of place on the dying Half Blood Hill. Dryads usually weren't selected for border patrol, but she was nominated because some campers had seen how easily she had disposed of Damian when he had attacked Dante back at the lake, as so here she was.

'What's new?' She asked, trying not to pay attention that the entire border guard had only a single bow, along with one dagger, or that Nate was the only one trained to fight among the three.

"Oh not much," Nate replied. "I'm excited, what about you?" Nate felt akward. He just got assigned to border patrol and people counted on him already. Im not ready for this he thought. What if I fail them? I'm good with a dagger but I'm not very good with my bow. What if the charge us? He tried to put it out of his mind. He started to think about what could happen, scared and afraid.

Holly put a hand on Nate's shoulder. 'Don't be worried.' She smiled comfortingly. 'You'll do great. I doubt any monsters will even come here. We haven't been attacked much for a while now. We're just here in case a stray hound or dracenae shows up, and even then, we just have to call for help. No need to fight. Luckily for me.'

 

Titin and Mace both hopped onto a plane headed for Long Island Sound, and camp half blood.

'Damian said to meet him at camp half-blood.' Titin muttered.

Mace nodded. 'So now what? Once we get to Camp, what happens then? Damian kills everybody, then kidnaps the oracle? Seems a bit typical, to say the least.'

Titin shrugged. 'Damian's in charge.'

 

Dante nodded. 'Come on guys, let's go back to camp.'

"Guys, over here!" shouted Harry. "Don't worry, we're in an empty field! Just follow my vice!" The others came running. "I don't know why," he said when they had arrived, "but it seems I can see, or sense, the things around us. I can't explain it." And this was true. It wasn't vision, he couldn't see, but he knew where the people were. He could sense them through the darkness. "This way," he said, randomly picking a direction. It seemed like it didn't matter, which direction they took. There wasn't anything near them anyways.

Nate was bored. They had been on Border Patrol for an hour and nothing had happened. He had a sense of relief but also a sense of anxiety at the same time. He wanted to leave, but he knew he couldn't. I need something to do, he thought. He started scanning the ground for grass to cut with his blade when he saw a Dracanae slither out of the woods. "Finally we get some action," he said to Holly and Wayne with a grin. "I was starting to get bored."

OOC: alright guys heres the deal im doing a minor time jump thats a temp until the real one. Im jumping to the end of the summer. Finish up what you guys are doing and then break ur post like so...

TIME WARP

Brian looked up as Clarisse walked across the boundries with the fleece held high above her head. He clapped as evryone cheered for her. Clarisse faked a smile so noone saw the upset look she had as she was flying home. She hung it on the tree and JAckson and Annabeth arrived awhile later with Chiron and Brian knew things were getting better.

TIME WARP

The cremony was awesome Brian thought as he looked at the necklace with the lone Bead with a fleece on it. Noone knew about the weapons they risked their lives for. And the one who lost. Everyone who knew about it was helping Nikki remember her lost memory. He also still worried about chris. He tried to be happy the last night he was still undecided about wether he would stay or leave unless he was eaten by harpies. (that always happened in the hermes cabin for some reason.) He wanted a sign something to tell him to stay.

After a few hours, Harry sensed something in the distance. "Right ahead of us! Just keep walking. I sense something in the distance." Harry broke into a steady job, continually talking so as the others could follow him. Eventually, he slowed his pace and approached the thing cautiously. It was a mountain! But not just any mountain; one with a cave! He could sense the opening was large, 3 meters in diameter. It seemed to go downwards, underground. "Guys, it's a cave. It goes into the heart of a mountain. Can you feel the energy radiating outwards?"
