Jecht was walking up a sidewalk. He stopped at a house that was crossed off in police lines. It was a small home. The windows were broken and the door was in slpinters. He ripped off the line and ran in. Everything was destroyed. There was glass everywhere. There was bloodon the floor and claw marks near it. Panic filled him and he ran into a destroyed bedroom and saw a dead body of a tall girl, looked about twenty, that looked as if she was almost ripped apart. Jecht srated crying at the site and slowly the dream faded and he realized he was back in the van but was stil crying.

'Jecht?' Dante asked. 'Jecht! What happened? A dream? What happened?'

Nikki stopped the car. She came back to where Brian, Dante, and Jecht were. 'What happened, Jecht?' She asked, her lilting voice somehow comforting his misery. 'Who died? Who is she?' Then she reached over him, placed her index finger in the small of his back, and instantly applied enough pressure to knock him out. Jecht fell over unconciously.

'Get water.' She instructed Dante. After he had left to get a canteen of water from the back of the van, Nikki knealt down, so that her head was level with Jecht's. She turned him over, so that his back was to her, and she lifted his shirt up. Then, Nikki placed three fingers in specific places along his spine, and applied intense pressure for a moment. 'There.' She breathed, and by the time Dante had returned, Jecht was back in the position he had been before, with Nikki waiting peacfully for Dante to return.

'What did you do?' Dante asked suspiciously, once he had returned.

'What makes you ask?' Nikki replied innocently. 'Just because I'm alone in a van with two unconcious campers doesn't mean I'm doing anything bad. Especially not in the space of half a minute.'

Jecht looked up at Nikki a bit confused at what happened. First he was in a dream next he was in the van, then he blacked out again and now everybody was staring at him. He stifled his sobs feeling a bit embarressed to be crying. "Its-its." He looked into Nikki's eyes and felt he could tell her almost anything. He took a deep breath. "ITs my sister. She was the one I wanted to see in Ohio. Apollo was with my mom twice, and my sister went to Camp Half-Blood. Her name was, Orina. She knew how dangerous it can be. She was a monster hunter, just like Artemis' Hunters. She was one of the best and protected various demigods that were followed by monsters. In my dream she was ambushed by a monsters. I don't know what. It seemed she was sleeping when it happened but she went down with a fight." He smiled adn remembered how couragous she was. "She always said when she died she would be fighting, she would fight Hades before she would die peacfully. Her dream was to die a heroic death."

Nikki nodded. 'She'll get Elysium.' Then she paused. 'Same with Desiree and Marissa. Desiree was too skilled in the art of deception to get left in Asphodel, and Marissa never carried money with her, so she couldn't pay for fare to the underworld. We'll save Orina when we reach the underworld. After we get the Axe. You know about the powers that the Alkahest weapons have, right? The Sword can enlarge it's wielder, the Scepter can fuse or divide things, including... including me.' She stopped. 'I-I'm sorry. It's not important. But the Axe can... can induce fear. Even in Hades. If we have it, we can use it to convince Hades to let us save all of them. Brandon, Desiree, Orina, Diana, and Marissa. And... maybe also... him.' Nikki was unwilling to say anything more.

Brian groaned and sat up. "wha happen?" Brian asked rubbing his neck. He looked at his torn shoe that had claw marks down the side of his foot and he realized how much it hurt. "OW." He cried fumbling for his phone. A yellow bag appeared on the floor and he unzipped it grabbing a canteen and taking a swig. His foot healed and he put the canteen back in the bag and it instantly dematerialized into the phone. The shoes Brian was wearing before. Non-winged blue converse materialized on his feet and he turned toward the front of the van looking at unconscious Jetch and then Nikki bent over him. His button down shirt turned blue over his white under shirt and he sighed contently. "Are the harpies gone?"

[Prexxor]

"huff, huff" Scathe said as he returned with scars and bruises. "Why did you leave me, I almost died!" Now it looked like Scathe was red in the face as he put on his power suit to kill everyone there. "Ice sword!" A frozen blade appeared in his hand. He would've killed them but just then a Hydra showed up slithering towards a doughnut shop. "fire sword" Scathe muttered as his ice sword caught fire and turned into his flame sword. "fire blaster" He muttered again as his other hand turned into a fire blaster cannon. Just then the Hydra noticed them and screeched an attack screech. "Let's do this" Scathe muttered.

Jecht looked at Nikki very seriously. "No. I don't I want to "save" her. It would be selfish to take her away from there. She's happy right now and I don't want to take that away from her for myself." Then he noticed that Brian was awake. "Yeah, there gone, thanks to Dante and Nikki though. If it weren't for them I'd be dead. C'mon let's go." He said trying to move his back but grimiced from the pain. "I deffinatly need some necter or something." He said looking around. "Do any of you have any?"

[Corvidae]

Nikki nodded. 'In the back. Dante, fetch.' Then she turned to Scathe and the hydra. She picked up Jecht's bow, notched three arrows, ignited them on Jecht's necklace, muttered, 'If you don't mind,' And shot them all through three of the Hydra's necks, burning them. She did the same thing to the rest of its heads, and soon the hydra was gone. 'Of course. I completely understand. We'll leave her in the underworld. But Desiree and Marissa will never be happy dead. So I hope you understand if I get them back.' Then Nikki swore quietly. She pointed out the back window, behind Scathe. A bunch of dracenae and h---hounds were approaching quickly. 'Scathe!' Nikki called out. 'Behind you!'

Brian rolled his eyes thinking how silly he was. He hit a few buttons and a yellow bag with Jetch's name appeared at Jetch's feet. "The nectar and Ambrosa should be on top of everything else." He said leaning back. He looked around for Dante. "Where is Dante?" Brian asked. He went through his phone and a Drachma appeared in his hand. "I think we should send Chiron an I-M...he deserves one."

 

OoC:IDK where we are in relation to the book...where is Percy and Annabeth right now?

OOC:We're like under and to the left of Ohio, so I don't know. Your RP dude.

 

 

IC: "Huh? Oh cool." He unzipped it and pulled out a bottle of necter. He took a good drink of it making sure not to drink to much. The pain was relieved but he could still feel a dull pain around his back. Jecht took his bow back from Nikki. "If you don't mind." /he said and got out of the car and started firing off shots as fast as he could. "There's no way these are from my phone, it was destroyed way back there. How do they all know were here?" He asked as hellhound lunged at him and he easily killde it by stabbing him with his double-edged sword.

ooc: They're probably around Circe's Isle by now. We're a bit more than halfway through book two.

 

IC: 'No clue.' Nikki replied, and she reached into her pack. She pulled out something that looked a little like a vial of liquid, except that the liquid was a acidic green. Nikki also grabbed a sling and a marble, and she flung the vial into the air over the approaching monsters. She adeptly slinged the marble into the vial, and it exploded, raining acid all over the monsters. Large numbers of them swiftly vaporized, but they were just replaced with more. 'New plan,' Nikki muttered quickly. 'Drive!! Scathe, get in here!'

 

ooc: I'll keep track of chronology in the RP, okay?

Jecht heard Nikki and jumped in the van but not learning his lesson from the last time was standing out the window and firing shots at any incoming mosters, lighting his arrows on fire and when it impacted, the moster would explode usally taking 2 or 3 miore with him. "Okay I'm positive now, they are not finding us by coincidence, there's something wrong, like were sending out a 'come eat us' signal." He said firing his arrows as fast as possible.

Dante nodded. 'Does someone else have a cell phone?'

After Scathe climbed in, Dante started the car. Unknown to him, Nikki had never turned off the defensive system, so the car was still being protected magically.

 

Nikki, not wanting Jecht to fall out of the window again, grabbed and held tightly onto his legs as he shot at the monsters.

 

Damian grinned, watching the monsters attack the questers. Then, a dracenae attacked him, and he just managed to fend it off with his bow. 'What the?' They weren't supposed to attack me, just them... Damian frowned, then drew his machine gun, and he backed away slowly, trying not to attract the attention of any monsters.

" WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE START THE FRIKIN' CAR?!" He yelled firing at the monsters as they got closer. "THere's too many of them, I can't hold them off any longer. THen he saw of the the mosters turning around to attack Damian. Still firing off shots, he called out. "Uhhh guys. There's a dude with a frikin machine gun and I'm thinkin' we should get out of here before he decides to fire at us."

OOC: can you hurry up and get to the Underworld? Not much goes on in the Asphodel Fields...

 

Brandon walked in the general direction that he though would lead him to Hades, deeper into the cave. "Gods, it sure is weird down here," he said, looking around at everyone. It looked like some sort of propaganda ad from the 1950's with basic houses and freshly cut lawns with old cars sitting in the driveway. It gave Brandon the creeps looking at the people in the houses, who seemed to have no idea they were dead.

 

"Honestly, you'd think someone would catch on that they're dead here," Brandon whispered to himself.

 

"Let them have their ignorance," a man said, holding boards on his soldier. "I've been forced to build these houses by Hades. It's a crapjob, but I think I'll be getting moved into the Asphodel Fields soon enough. I'm sure of it."

 

"You mean you're being punished?" Brandon asked, looking at the man. He didn't look tortured.

 

"Yes, but it's not that bad. At least I didn't try and defy the gods," the man said, brushing dust off his painter's outfit. "Some of those souls have just been tortured for eternity. I'm one of the lucky ones."

[Corvidae]

ooc: Dante DID start the car.

IC: 'No!!' Nikki screamed. 'Its.... it's him!!! Damian Shaadler! He's... he's the one who killed Desiree!' Her eyes started to gleam with a golden light. 'I'll kill him!'

'No!' Dante yelled, and tackled Nikki before she could use the Alkahest Lance like Marissa had.

'Get - off me!' Nikki strugged to free herself, and then Dante realized that nobody was driving. He swore loudly, then went back over to driving, before the van smashed into a building. The light dissappeared from Nikki's eyes, and she sat down hard. She gasped. 'That... that was horrible.' She cringed. 'Anger and sorrow don't mix well. It creates a horrible... emptiness. Destroys everything. I - I was going to - to kill him. Even if it meant my own life. I... I can't. If I die, Desiree and Marissa will have no chance. Spirits can't affect the living; we'd have no way to make us normal again.'

'What's going on, Nikki?' Dante asked. 'Everything.'

Nikki nodded slowly. 'It was about a month ago, in Ohio. I was on my way to camp half-blood when Luke jumped me. He kidnapped me and two others, Marissa and Desiree. He tried to use an Alkahest Item, the Scepter, on us. But he didn't know how to use it, so he accidentaly blew us to pieces. It was easy enough for him to fuse each of our bodies back together, all looking identical, but our minds and souls...

'Luke had rebuilt our souls poorly. I carried the sorrow of us all, Marissa was left with our resentment and anger, and Desiree, no longer weighed down by either of these, grew to be the most joyous of us.

'Luke also messed up our minds. That is why we so easily achieved an empathy link. We, other than our personalities, think, and act, nearly the complete same way.

'When he realized we were failures, Luke abandoned us. So we continued on our ways, serendipidously all of us were going to camp half-blood. On the way, we decided it would be best if nobody knew about us, so, since I was here before, we pretended that there was only one Nikki, and that Desiree and Marissa, who were, at the time, newfound demigods, had been killed on the way. So we developed the rings of invisibility so nobody would see two of us at once, and we managed to last quite well since then. Until Dante got the quest. None of us wanted to be left behind, so we drew straws. Desiree lost, so she was staying in the attic to try and hear news about us. That's why she died. I should have stayed behind instead. She'd be more helpful to you guys...'

Jecht ducked back inside the car to hear Nikki's story. "Hey! Don't talk like that. none of them should've died. It was Damian's fault, and he'll pay for that but if you wish yourself to have died then you'll most likely get your wish. You've been helpful. You've saved my life. You shouldn't doubt yourself." He said to her and nodded, then he smiled real big like he got an idea. "Here." He said as he suffled around in his bag for a second which surprisingly had all of his valubles in it. He withdrew a small wooden case that had the words HAPPY BIRTHDAY JECHT engraved into it. Jecht opened it revealing a necklace. It wasn't fancy or anything just a regualr necklace but on it was a gold circle that had an arrow engraved into it. "I got this as a birthday present when I was younger, from my great-grandfather. Its supposed to bring good luck and fortune. My great-grandfather said that I should use it the best I could. He said I should give it to somebody, somebody special. I want you to have it." He said holding it out, the light glittering off of it.

'Th-thank you.' Nikki said, and she picked up the necklace and smiled. 'It's beautiful.' She put it on.

 

Damian had left the monsters behind. He put his machine gun into its holster, and ducked into an alleyway. Those stupid demigods. They have no idea that that car they're riding is a beacon for monsters. He laughed, the horrible sound echoing through the deserted alleyway ominously.

 

'So,' Zelkiax concluded, 'Will you help me?'

'You sound as if I have a choice.' Diana replied, though she seemed to be happy at his offer.

'You do. You can either stay here and rot for all eternity in the underworld, or you can help me with my one little problem, and in exchange, I'll bring you back to the mortal world, and you can return to your normal life before you died.'

'Some choice.' Diana snorted, 'Of course I agree. Bring me back to the mortal world.'

'Follow me.' Zelkiax replied, and he headed off.

Jecht smiled and nodded. "I'm glad you like it, the jewelry itself is only as beautiful as the person wearing it, and you look beautiful." He said staring at her and blushed slightly. Then he realized he was blushing and looked down at the floor hoping she didn't notice. Jecht noticed that at one specific spot on the floor it seemed to be virbrating. "Hey, look at this." He said moving his hand over the spot on the floor. "There's something here. Its . . . vibrating." He said motioning towards the spot on the floor.

[Jakeronijo]

Brian tilted his head. "What the...?" He held out his phone over the spot. It began to beep furiously. "Okay, that's weird." His phone turned into a sword and he carefully cut the floor open. Underneath the carpeting and car was a cell phone. "Oh crap, we've been getting those monsters all along." He looked up at the demigods accompanying him. "Where did this van come from and why does it have a ringing cell under it?" He asked as a pack of Hell hounds burst from the woods and began to surround the car. From the way they growled mortals must've seen a Motorcycle gang bothering a bunch of kids, but Brian knew better. "Oh great, more dogs." He said crushing the phone in anger.

[Corvidae]

Nikki smiled again. Then she responded to Brian's question with, 'This is Desiree's car. And it didn't have that there before. Somebody's planted it.' Her eyes narrowed, and she thought back to the battle with the harpies. Damian had been there. He had gotten close, then left. 'Damian did this. He's trying to kill us. He's working for Luke, and he's horrible. Demigod in the vaguest sense of the word. If we don't get rid of him, he'll kill us instead.'

Dante shrugged. 'So basically... that Damian dude attached a phone to our car and now we're a beacon for every monster in the country?' He was going just under the speed limit, and soon they would be passing through the southern tip of Indiana.

 

Zelkiax led Diana along the underworld. 'This is the River... Lethe, I believe.' He signalled to the river they were walking along. 'Don't fall in: It drains memories.' Diana nodded silently, forgetting that Zelkiax was blind. He showed a small, rickety bridge to her. 'This is our route. Here, it's sound.' And Zelkiax walked over the bridge confidently. Diana followed him nervously. As soon as they reached the other side, Zelkiax ran ahead to the light, and he came out somewhere in LA. 'Come on.' He called back to Diana. She ran out, and so, unseen, did Desiree, wearing her ring of invisibility. She felt life flood through her, and, far away, Nikki started.

'Now then,' Zelkiax grinned. 'I"ve held up my part of the bargain, now it's your turn. Bring me to Damian Shaadler. I've got to have a word with him.'

[ArtemisFowl]

"Hey, Dante, yeah. Speed up! I don't think a speeding ticket is bad compared to being killed by monsters. Would you rather pay a couple hundred bucks or start your enternity in the underworld early?" Jecht said aiming his bow and launching flaming arrows. "Were are we right now?" He asked not having done well in geography at all in school. "What route are we taking to get to Los Angelos?"

[Corvidae]

Dante sped up. 'We're almost in Indiana. And we're going straight to LA. Along as many highways as possible. We've got to ditch those monsters. But I don't happen to have more than 100 bucks, so if you don't mind, I'm not paying for the ticket you get me.'

Nikki reached into her bag, and brought out several hundred mortal dollars. 'I'll pay for anything we have to.'

'Perfect!' Dante exclaimed. 'I don't have to pay for driving tickets that I'm getting from my own driving. Speeding up!' He started driving faster.

Jecht looked at the small clock on the radio. It was around five thirty and Jecht realized for the first time since he started the quest . . . how hungry we was. "Hey Dante, let's stop and get a burger. I didn't get a chance to eat at the last place." HE said remembering how he was trying to comfort Nikki the last time they stopped to get something to eat and that was when Desiree had died back at Camp Half-Blood.

[Corvidae]

Dante pulled over at McDonalds. When they went in, Dante whistled loudly. The entire restauraunt was destroyed. 'This place looks like a war zone.' He muttered. There were mortal corpses all over the floor, and blood and bullets were everywhere. Dante picked up one of the steel bullets and examined it, promptly giving up. 'Ah, who am I kidding? I dunno how to examine bullets.'

Nikki ran over and took the bullet. Her eyes glazed over, then refocused.

'Damian. He's been here. And he's killed everyone. Again.' Her legs gave out, and she fell onto a chair that was, thankfully, unoccupied.
