If Kai had analyzed the situation correctly, it was her victory. The monster only had 1250 Defense Points and her opponent only had 250 Lifepoints. With no Spells or Traps to protect her monster and only that unknown "Earthbound Immortal" in her hand, the road was clear.

 

"Infernity Archfiend, attack her facedown monster! I will then finish this duel by having my Infernity Death Dragon do a direct attack!" Kai giggled. This had been a good duel.

OOC: Recitek, lengthen your posts. We don't want Rinne on our asses, do we?

IC: Gaichus watched as the Yliaster agents ran their courses. This is good. he thought. If nothing else, we've got good duelists on our side. Those damn Signers won't stand a chance!

 

Meanwhile...

Regilus had found it. The solution for releasing the King of the Underworld. It was simple, yet BRILLIANT! After devising all probable and most improbable countermeasures, he had finally figured it out.

He saved the file to his usual sources, and a few that he hadn't used in awhile. He had at least five very dangerous enemies lurking about.

The card vaporized. But when her Death Dragon didn't move Kai looked at Sazuka's feild and saw the Universal Dragon sat in defence,"Your Battle Phase is over. Death Dragon can't attack. When Universal Dragon is destroyed by Battle it comes back in defence and your Battle Phase ends."

Kai frowned. "I activate Infernity Death Dragon's effect! It will destroy your monster and deal half its attack as damage." She flicked her fingers towards the dragon. "Meet Death..." she paused, realizing abruptly that Infernity Death Dragon wasn't responding. Ah, so the Dark Synchro was stopping her effects, was that what made it so strong?

 

"I switch Archfiend and Guardian to defense mode," she said simply. "Turn End!"

IC:Sazuka smiled seeing that her opponent had seen the power of her monster. It had been almost imposible to Summon her dragon was powerful. The kind of power you can only get being a Dark Signer. The kind of power only one being should control. "Draw, I switch my dragon to attack position. Then I equip Junk Barrage to Universal Dragon. Attack her Death Dragon." A spiral of blue flame lanced toward Death Dragon and blew it to peices. "You take 200 Battle Damage and 1500 Effect Damage because of my Junk Barrage. I End"

Kai grunted as her favorite monster exploded, taking with it nearly all of her remaining lifepoints. If it weren't for her effects being jammed, she would have everything she needed to win right now. She'd have to work around that somehow, because if she didn't, this would be her last turn.

 

"My turn! Draw!" she announced, drawing her last card with dramatic passion. She was in a corner. The duel came down to this card. If she drew a monster card that couldn't aid her, she'd lose. If she drew a useless spell or trap card, she'd lose.

 

Slowly, she turned the card around to face her. "Set a card. Turn End," Kai announced, her tone somber. Abruptly she giggled playfully. "Bring it on!" she said.

Monsters: ...the same as before, minus one Death Dragon.

Sazuka stared long and hard at this new facedown having wasted her only Heavy Storm things had just got very dicey. "Hmm, so it all comes down to this does it? I do have an MST (Mystical Space Typhoon) in my deck. If I draw it, your last hope is gone and victory is mine. If I don't, I face almost utter defeat. So with everthing riding on this single draw, I DRAW!!!" She slid the card from the top of her deck and without looking at it said,"Know this Kai, win or lose you've earned my respect. You are a Duelist like I have never faced."

 

She looked at the card. A faint smile drew across her face. Without a word she placed the card back on the top of her deck. Then rested her hand gentley over her deck in the gesture of surrender.

 

She said nothing just walked through a door that lead deeper into the building and was gone from Kai's sight.

"Right, well then. That settles that. Kai, you'll be paired with Sazuka. Obviously, we'll give you a ring when we get information about a Signer or two. Meanwhile, let's take a look at a gentlemen's duel."

Gaichus chuckled softly as he turned to the other side. He certainly was a punster when he wanted to be. But alas, the occupation of a Dark Signer had little time for puns or general merriment. Mind you, if he didn't hate Signers enough... Well, let's just say he wouldn't be here, that's for sure.

When Sazuka left the room and was curtian noone could see her. She picked up the top card of her deck and chuckled,"MST, I should have my head looked at." She shuffled her deck and moved further into the building.

Kai blinked several times at the sudden end of the duel, but giggled. "That was fun," she said, although Sazuka had already left. The card holograms faded away and Kai removed the cards from her Duel Disk. She hummed cheerfully to herself as she slid the card out from her Spell and Trap card zone. She studied it for a few seconds before placing it and the other cards in her deck together and returning her deck to the deck box.

 

It didn't really matter to her who had won the duel. The only thing that puzzled her was why Sazuka chose to surrender instead of at least finding out with certainty that she was going to lose. The advantage had been hers. Ah, but whatever, it was a great duel.

 

Kai turned her focus to the other duel and took a seat beside the young, quiet Dark Signer.

Recteik had almost jumped out of his skin. His mark glowed an angry red. "Someone must be dueling a Dark Signer." He scanned the sky but saw no sign of a Shadow Duel. "Strange, no mark in the sky. I can feel the evil of a Dark Synchro but. . ." He let it hang as his mark stopped burning and resumed its normal lusterless colour. He knew the duel was over,"Some poor fool just lost their soul."

[Time Psyduck]

After the closer duel had finished Mitsuko turned her head very slightly, which was enough to see the other duel, still ongoing. The Yliaster person who had just won sat down next to her, and the girl gave a very slight twitch - nothing that anyone not paying attention would have noticed, but still a definite movement - at the woman's proximity, but she seemed not to notice her own body's reaction, continuing to stare, apparently impassively.

Ross nodded at the Wolf, then waited for the next move. Interesting, he thought, Wolves. I haven't seen those before... in an archtype anyway. This should be a good duel.

"Hehe, now i summon Shadow Warwolf." A snarling werewolf came out of a portal next to his brother wolf.

"Now I'll equip him with Warwolf Armor." (1300->1800)

The newly summoned Werewolf was equipped with a mechanical suit of armor.

"Now go, my Shadow Warwolf, attack his face-down, and don't think about face-down traps because of my Pitch-Black Warwolf's effect (Your opponent cannot activate Trap Cards during the Battle Phase.)"

Shadow Warwolf lunged across the field, and slammed his Scythe into the face-down card.

Shadow Warwolf ->1800->2100

Ross grinned. Fool. "You attacked my Mystic Tomato, so now I can summon a Dark monster with 1500 or less ATK onto my field. I summon another Mystic Tomato!" Another tomato appeared on the field in attack mode.

"Continue."

"Thats fine, but you still take damage due to my Warwolf Armor's effect, 500 points worth."

Shadow Warwolf slashed the Scythe threw the air creating a cyclone of wind that was heading for his opponent.

"Now Pitch Black Warwolf, attack his other Mystic Tomato."

The black werewolf flew across the field and slashed the evil fruit.

"Now I place 1 face-down cards then I will end my turn."

"Before you end your turn, I activate my facedown card, Fires of Doomsday! It allows me to summon 2 Doomsday Tokens (Dark/Fiend/0/0) in defence position. During this turn I can't Normal Summon or Set. But since I activated it during your turn, I can summon during my turn."

Ross drew his card to start his turn as 2 ghosts appeared on the field.

"Now I activate Magical Citadel of Endymion!"

A castle thing formed around the duelists.

 

"With that in play, I can sacrifice my two tokens, to summon to the field, my legendary beast, Earthbound Immortal Aslla Piscu! (2500/2500)"

The 2 ghosts disappeared, and in their place was a huge hummingbird.

Ross grinned. "With that done, I activate Swallow's Nest! This spell card allows me sacrifice my Aslla Piscu, and then summon another one from my deck!"

The hummingbird disappeared and was replaced by an exact copy of it.

"And when Aslla Piscu is removed from the field, I get to destroy all of your monsters on the field, and then you take 800 damage for each one!" The wolves were destroyed.

 

"Now, my beast, attack his life points directly! After that, I play a facedown, and end my turn."

Tommy drew a card, and smiled a devious smile. "I activate my face-down trap card Rampaging Warwolf."

 

 

"Next I will play a card known as Smashing Ground. Say goodbye to your little birdie." The gigantic hummingbird was smashed to pieces, "And since I don't control any monsters on the field no monsters are destroyed and I don't take any damage. Now I summon Warwolf Scout, plus my Rampaging Warwolf deals you 300 points of damage."

 

"Now go Warwolf Scout, make a meal out of his Life Points." The Beast lunged across the field towards his opponent.

"Activate facedown, Revival of the Immortals! This lets me special summon Aslla Piscu back from my graveyard. Unfortunatly, wheneer he battles, you won't take any damage, but that's OK."

Aslla Piscu returned to the field and intercepted the attack, destroying the wolf.

ooc: Dude, it just can't intercept an attack as a matter of fact, it can't be selected as an attack target meaning my wolf would continue for your life points.

 

The wolf slashed away some of the Life Points of his opponent. "Now his ability activates and now I can destroy one Spell or Trap Card on the field. I choose your City. I know, I know. Instead of it being destroyed it instead takes away a Spell Counter." 'But its just one more counter from being destroyed, Tommy thought to himself.

 

"I end."

Kai watched the duel with wide eyes. So...that was one of the Earthbound Immortals that the Dark Signer legends spoke of. She giggled with excitement. Sazuka hadn't summoned her Immortal in their duel, but now she knew full well what powerful cards the Dark Signers had at their disposal. Dark Synchros and Earthbound Immortals...such fearsome cards.

 

She turned her head towards the young Dark Signer girl beside her. "Hello," she chirped. "What was your name?" she asked.

Mitsuko was still watching the duel when the Yliaster person beside her spoke to her. She turned her head slowly to look at her eye to eye. Her eyes, cold, examined the face of the woman.

 

The word 'happy' floated through the dark signer's mind, although it didn't really mean a lot to her.

 

"Mitsuko," she said, in a quiet, medium-pitched voice, before she turned back to stare at the duel once again.

Recteik started spilling his coffee allover himself. His mark glowed even angrier than before. He knew this feeling and, with chilling realization,"Earthbound Immortal." The girl who was helping clean up the mess gasped,"What?" "Oh, I'm sure it's nothing," he said trying not to scare her. The last thing he wanted was to cause panick. Recteik looked to the South. This feeling of evil was coming from that direction. (If the Dark Signers are in the city I need to stop them before someone gets hurt!) He jumped on his Runner and fallowed the feeling of evil.

 

As he sped down the road he called Amy. She was the only Signer in Neo Domino. The rest were were in Satalite. "Amy, you there? I'm sure you feel it too. As soon as you get this message fallow the signal from my Runner. I think I got a bead on a Dark Signer."

If you control an Earthbound Immortal and no other monsters, your opponent cannot attack you, because they cannot select the Earthbound Immortal as an attack target. (Exception: they can attack with monsters that can attack directly, such as “Submarineroid.”)[1]

 

OCG Rulings:

The effect of "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu"/"Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu"/etc prevents your opponent's monsters from selecting it as an attack target. Thus, when the only monster you control is "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu"/etc, your opponent can neither attack your monster nor attack directly. However, your opponent can still attack you directly with monsters like "Jinzo #7" which can attack directly.[12]
