I like Handless Fake's field spell better' date=' it's balenced and gives the Koa'ki Meiru the extra boost they need.[hr']

While in the hand and grave it counts as a Core. I'm not sure if that would break the card or not...

 

If it was treated as core in the deck, it would have searchabaility past Terraforming.

 

However, it's reusable in grave and used for Maximus among other things in hand, so that's fine.

 

With that much searchability, it would seem to be too powerful... Granted it just makes Koa'ki Meiru playable, but with everything it would do it seems like it would be OP if it counted as Iron Core in the deck...

They need a Supervise like Equip that prevents their destruction effect from going off.

 

Iron Core Armor does that, but only for 1 turn, though.

 

I think Koa'ki would greatly benefit from a card such as:

 

Koa'ki Meiru Shell

Attribute: EARTH

Type: Machine/Effect

Level: 2

ATK: 500

DEF: 1000

Effect: This card is treated as "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" while it is in your hand. You can reveal 2 "Koa'ki Meiru" monsters in your hand to return this card from your field to your hand. If a "Koa'ki Meiru" monster you control would be destroyed during the End Phase while this card is on the field, you can destroy this card instead.

 

And about the Initialize, I prefer the Transport Unit to get Cores and suicide any Koa'ki Mieru to add another one with the Specimen Lab.

Wait: I almost forgot the OCG doesn't have the Transport Unit.

How about instead of preventing the destruction, we make it work to our advantage?

 

Field Spell

While this card is face-up on the field, when a "Koa'ki Meiru" monster is destroyed by its own effect, place 1 "Core Counter" on this card. All "Koa'ki Meiru" monsters on the field gain 100 ATK and DEF for each "Core Counter" on this card. The controller of this card can remove 1 "Core Counter" to Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower "Koa'ki Meiru" monster from their deck during his/her opponent's Standby Phase.
