Clawfang heard Dominique's cry. He spun around, but by now, the poison had taken hold, and he could hardly move. Letting out a howl, that died quickly, he used the last of his energy to change back into his human form. That poison works fast. If I had stayed in my wolf form any longer, I may have died. Hopefully, now I won't die...at least, not yet. Jason had fallen to the ground in his human form, and now, struggling, he pulled himself upright by using a tree as a crutch. Looking around, he realized that he was in a part of the park that he didn't recognize. Great, now I'm lost and poisoned. I don't think I can last much longer like this.

Dominique quickly ran over to Jason hugging his neck as she did so. Tanya popped into existence nearby, soaking wet but now smelling like a wet vampire instead of having the smell of that UV-Gel.

"Good thing UV-Gel's water-soluble, otherwise I would stink! I hear they're working on a new type of UV-Gel that will allow me to stay sunproof even in water, which is good, since I miss swimming in the daytime."

"I thought vampires couldn't cross running water." Dominique queried as she lifted up Jason in a fireman's carry.

"It's partially true." Tanya replied. "Vampires are somewhat denser than humans due to the lack of blood, which contains water, which keeps humans afloat. We can't drown, of course, but getting back out of the water used to be a b***h. Now, with the advent of buoyancy belts small enough to not be cumbersome, vampires can actually get into the water! Only problem is making sure the belts don't come off while we're swimming."

"So who should I attribute that myth to?"

"Most likely Bram Stoker, the most accursed name in vampiredom. Radu was the one who invited Stoker to visit Transylvania back in the day, hoping to have a historical novel done on Radu's deceased brother, Vlad. Unfortunately, Bram found out about the vampirism, and completely scrapped the original idea to write Dracula. Just like Shakespeare doomed feykind, Stoker turned vampires into a fairy tale. Vlad, fortunately, was given a lighter sentence than he should've for revealing the truth of vampires, especially since so many vampire hunters follow that book like it's the vampire Bible! It's always funny when they think that staking us is the way to go! We just play dead...er than usual, wait until they leave, then remove the stake and get some medical assistance."

Tanya unbuttoned her blouse, revealing several circular scars just above her bra on her left breast.

"Getting staked is a badge of honor among vampires. It means you've avoided a permenant death. Don't even get me started on how many times Vlad's gotten his heart punctured."

Jason could dimly hear voices talking. He tried to talk, but all that came out was a quiet mumble. He tried to push himself up, and noticed that he was being carried. Who...who's carrying me? And...why do I feel so tired all of a sudden? After a moment, the haze lifted off his eyes, and he could see clearly. He was on Dominique's back, being taken somewhere. She was having a conversation with Tanya, who didn't stink anymore. Tanya opened her blouse, and Jason saw a bunch of circular scars on her left side. That's...most interesting. How is she not dead?

Tanya and Dominique approached the garage of the safehouse as the vampire whipped out a set of electronic keys, thumbing the unlock button and lighting up a very sleek-looking car.

"The SSC 2009 Ultimate Aero EV. Can achieve a maximum speed of 257 miles an hour, and can go from 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds. But it comes with a $650K price tag. Radu's beauty, he gave me the keys for an emergency. Which is now."

Dominique climbed into the passenger seat, with Jason in her lap, as Tanya started up the Aero, her engines roaring.

"Yeah, baby! Tanya knows you want to get out into the world! You've been cooped up for so long, but tonight's your night to shine! Out of all of the nights Radu has used you to end lives, this night, you'll get to save one!"

She pounded the accelerator, and the car rocketed out of the garage and off into late-night Quebecan traffic.

Tanya inserted a CD into the player labeled "Tanya's Driving Mix", and an incredibly fast-pumping rave beat blared out of the speakers. The Aero got onto the highway, clocking 120 as it did so.

"Great thing about being a vampire is the hightened senses." Tanya yelled over the techno beat as she narrowly avoided the traffic. "This may seem insanely fast for a human, and might hurt a werewolf's ears a bit, but to me, this is normal speed for techno. Conversely, all of the cars on this highway look like they're going 5 miles an hour, and I'm doing normal country road speeds. I can do maneuvers in this car that would scare any professional stunt driver, and I have the hair-trigger reaction time of a housefly to do so!"

They were now just below 250 miles an hour, and were already outside of Quebec.

"Next stop, Toronto!"

Jason sat in the back seat of the car, rocking back and forth as the car swerved in and out of traffic. Tanya was right; the music was painful to his ears. With some struggle, Jason managed to open his mouth, and force words out. They came out hoarse and estranged, sounding like it pained him to talk, which it did. "Music...hurts..." After those words, Jason fell on his side in the seat. He closed his eyes, and lapsed into unconsciousness, letting the pain wash over him. I think I'll just take a nap...let myself let go of my body for a while.

((Jason's in Dominique's lap.))

Dominique cut off the music, which startled Tanya enough that she almost collided with a semi.

"What's the deal?!? I was getting my driving groove on!"

"You're hurting my ears, as well as Jason's! That racket probably isn't hellping his condition either!"

Tanya sighed as she accepted Dominique's argument.

"Fine, fine. We'll drive quietly."

((Okay.))

Through a dark mist, Jason could tell that the music had been turned off. Now I can sleep peacefully... With a happy sigh, Jason let himself lapse completely into unconsciousness. His breathing slowed, until it could barely be heard. He shifted around in Dominique's lap subconsciously, trying to get comfortable. He knew that he was on the brink of death, but he couldn't care less at the moment. He just wanted to sleep, and the temptation was so great...Suddenly startled awake, Jason felt a pang of pain, along with indignation. No! I must not fall asleep. If I do, then I may not wake again. But...the..temptation...is..too...great... Giving in, Jason fell into a deep, dark sleep.

Dominique noticed her mate's heartbeat becoming weaker and weaker, and turned to Tanya. "You have the anitdote?"

"Yeah, but he looks too weak to give it to. You sure you wanna do that?"

Dominique rubbed her temples, thinking about the possibilities. "Yes. I do." Tanya handed over the syringe, and Dominique, gave a quick prayer before injecting the antidote into Jason.

Jason felt a sting on his arm. He shifted, trying to get rid of the stinging. He noticed with happiness that the pain he felt was lessening. Suddenly realizing how close he had come to death, Jason opened his eyes. He could not see much; only the inside of a car, and Tanya's body sitting in the driver's seat. Sighing now he knew that he was in no immediate danger, he closed his eyes again, though he could not fall asleep. Why can't I fall asleep now? He could feel something moving around in his bloodstream, and a fire, though smaller than before, still raged through him. He shifted around in Dominique's lap, trying to rid himself of the pain.

Jason shifted uncomfortably, making Dominique worry. "Jason..." She whispered, "Mon ami...I need you to try to hold on for another...how long, Tanya?"

"We're about a half-hour out."

"Just try to stay calm for a little while longer. I'm right here beside you." She cupped her hand in his. "I promise, I won't let go, no matter how much you struggle."

Jason heard Dominique's voice, but it was just haze and fuzz...At least he recognized it. Feeling her hand cup his, he tightened his fingers, grasping her hand. Suddenly, her last few words made sense. Though it hurt him, Jason's lips formed a smile. "I...love...you..." he whispered. Jason remembered the promise he had made her. "No matter what happens, I won't leave your side..."...I can't break that promise. I must keep living, if only for her. "I...won't...leave..." he whispered, hoping that she could hear him. Talking hurt him worse than he thought it would. Hopefully, he wouldn't be like this for much longer.

"Hello? How long are you gonna keep us in here?!" she demanded, "I want out of here now!" she then yelled. She tried to see if she could see anybody but she could not she anyone in that darkness except her brother, if you could even call him that since they were not really brother and sister and were more like two halves of a greater whole. "Is anybody going to answer me?!" she tried again

((Again, BUMPing as Co-Owner. Come on, YRP, don't let down on me now...))

Jason shifted, and moaned as dreams filled his head. He was sitting on a beach, holding hands with Dominique...He was sitting down, having his first 'business' talk with Toua......All of a sudden, there was a great flash of thunder, and the ground around him tore away. For a minute, Jason couldn't recognize where he was. But as soon as he heard the howl, he knew: he was in his old village, the one he had ravaged. Except...he wasn't himself. He was some stranger, wandering through the town. Without warning, a monster burst through a building. Jason screamed, and the beast turned. Growling, it began chasing Jason. Jason turned, and tried to shift, but nothing happened. Angered, he swung a suitcase that suddenly appeared in his hand. It collided with the monster, and Jason felt a sharp sting on his cheek...

"There." A voice sighed out of the darkness. "He's got the cure in his system. He should be fine."

Dominique and Tanya were in an examination room with a doctor standing over Jason, who just injected him with a special derivative of the antidote.

"Will he be fine?" Dominique asked, sounding worried.

"Of course." The doctor replied. "He had just overdosed on the antidote you gave him, and he had shapeshifted, which the antidote reacts negatively to. I've managed to neutralze both the aconite and the antidote, but just make sure he stays out of the moonlight for a couple of days." He then turned to Jason. "Now, he should be regaining consciousness right about now..."

Jason stirred, and opened his eyes. He didn't recognize where he was; everything was white. Standing around him were Dominique, Tanya, and some man Jason didn't recognize. He pushed himself up onto his elbows, and noticed with relief that there was no longer any pain in his body. Where am I? The last thing I remember is being taken into Tanya's car, and then dreaming the strangest dream. At least Dominique looks better. She doesn't seem as worried as she was. "What...happened to me?" Jason asked. The words still came out a little forced, as he was still quite exhausted from his ordeal.

The doctor simply laughed. "You're at the hospital now. I'm Doctor Joseph Frankenstein, M.D., and yes, I am a descendant of the legendary Dr. Frankenstein. My specialty is in zoanthropes, like you, and I am one of the leading experts in the various fields of supernatural medicine. I treated you a few days ago, when you were first injected with wolfsbane. It was an experimental treatment that I now have to destroy. You see, finding a cure for something that is both an animal and a human is very hard, since they aren't affected by the normal methods of both bases. My current foray into a universal zoanthrope sedative isn't exactly working, but I am making progress."

Jason understood only about half of what the doctor said. So when he finished speaking, Jason nodded, and said, "I see." Then, he sat up, and pushed himself off the bed. He staggered a little as he stood, not having stood for a while, and made his way over to Dominique. He could see that there was shock in the doctor's eyes, but he didn't care. As soon as he was close enough, he reached out, and grabbed Dominique. He pulled her in close to himself, and kissed her. He stayed like that for a while. After a minute, he pulled away...and realized that he was wearing a hospital gown, which was hardly long enough to cover him. Blushing, he grinned sheepishly.

Dominique and Tanya giggled as the doctor sighed. "Your clothes are in the back."

Meanwhile, Alexandre watched as the twins stuggled in their cages.

"Sir, shouldn't we at least interact with them?" An attendant wondered as he looked at the viewscreens.

"No." Alexandre replied. "Their mismanagement of their pack is worth their punishment. That, and they have disrespected my daughter and my son-in-law-to-be. We will open up negotiations once they calm down."

Jason nodded. "Thank you, Doctor." Giving Dominique another quick kiss, he spun around (blushing when he realized what that did). He quickly made his way to where the doctor motioned. He pulled his clothes out of what appeared to be a big leather duffel bag. As he put his clothes on, he thought. So, it would seem that it will be harder than if I were just wolf or human. Oh well, everybody's got their quirks. Finally dressed, Jason stepped back out. He walked over, grabbed Dominique, and pulled her into a huge bear hug. As he held her tight, he whispered into her ear, "Thank you. You saved my life...That makes twice now."

Dominique simply kissed him lightly on the cheek. "I can never repay you for everything that you have done for me. Without you..." She started to tear up. "...I just don't know what would've happened to me. Most likely, I would have resorted to eating humans. It's a good thing that I-" Her eyes widened as something dawned on her, and she left Jason to go see the Doctor.

"Yes?" Josef asked as he reviewed Jason's medical records.

"Doctor...could you give me that special psychological test for werewolves to see if I am stable? Ever since I killed a hunter, I've...changed. I'm now less sexually aggressive, and I seem to be a bit angrier. I'm even forgetting to use French, and I can't remember things anymore. I'm a vegetarian, and I've had more meat in the past few days than Jason! What's happening to me?!?"

Jason sighed as his mate went over to the doctor. He listened quietly as she told him what was wrong with her. He chuckled when he heard the "less sexually aggressive." Honestly, I haven't noticed. She is the most aggressively sexual woman I know...the only sexual woman I know...and I didn't think it possible that she could be less... Jason walked up, and, interrupting Dominique, said, "Doctor...you can check patients from other hospitals right? If it's not too much trouble, could you get me the information on a certain human. The last I saw him, he was badly wounded."

Josef nodded. "Who do you need me to look up? I will research him while your fiancee is taking her test."

Meanwhile, Dominique turned to Jason, knowing what he was thinking. "I haven't been very aggresive towards you for the past few days, though that's mainly due to the fact that you have been unconscious for most of that time period."

Jason took her hand, and squeezed it tight. "Don't worry...you're fine, I swear it. If that doctor finds something wrong with you, I will do everything in my power to help you cure yourself." He gave her a kiss, then pushed her gently towards the doctor. He faced the doctor. "The man I want you to look up for me is named Richard Garrison. He is 20 years old, and was last seen in a hospital in a small town. He was taken to another hospital, the likes of which I do not know, before I had the chance to visit him, and make sure he was okay."

Josef motioned for Dominique to go into an examination room, which she promptly did. "The test will take about an hour. I will try to find your friend, though I think I can do it within the allotted time. If you don't want to wait here for an hour, there are plenty of things to do in Toronto. I will leave the doors unlocked."

He closed the door, and Tanya fished for her keys. "Now, big guy, where would you like to go? There are some pretty nice dance clubs nearby..."

Jason laughed. "Sorry, I've got some loose ends I got to tie up. Dominique's not the only person who knows people; she just has a...better way...of meeting these people. So, if you don't mind, I will be off." As he left the room, he tapped the door of the examination room. "You'll do fine, dear." Then, he left the building. As soon as he was outside, he pulled out a small cell phone: a modern iPhone, even. He tapped the screen, and after a moment, held the phone up to his head. After four rings, the call was answered.

"Who's dis?" a voice with a thick Italian accent said.

Jason gulped. "It's me. I'm ready for our meeting."

"Indeed. Do you know how long you have kept me waiting...? Never mind, that is not important now. Where are you?"

"I'm outside a doctor's building in Toronto, Canada," Jason replied.

"Good." The voice dragged the word out. "Then you are close."
