Why Half-Life is better than Halo

i disagree..master cheif looks better! and had energy sword! master chief only had to punch!(with pistol equipped)

 

1. Energy sword is an alien weapon, and is powered. Gordon beats people down with a funking crowbar. A CROWBAR.

 

2. Gordon Freeman looks cooler than Master Chief, but that is irrelevant.

 

3. (With pistol equipped) means that Master Chief couldn't really punch by himself. Gordon just grabs his crowbar and unleashes hell.

 

4. Have you actually ever played Half-Life?

IMO, this is somewhat pointless, as both Half-Life and Halo have different storylines, and comparing someone like Gordon to a super human like Master Chief, their choice of weapons, and how they kill their (completely different) enemies is like comparing pizza to ice cream.

 

HOWEVER!!! I stick with MC due to the fact that I haven't played Half-Life except for a demo, and that I'm a big Halo Fan. Half-Life wasn't too bad in the demo though.

I didn't mean for this to be a Halo vs. Half-Life thread, but a thread about Half-Life in general. I just mainly wanted to stir up controversy. Although, I must say, after playing both games to great extent, Half-Life is better than Halo. Being FPS games, having plots at all, and it's easy to say Gordon is better than MC(Or vice-versa), their enemies are not completely different. Head Crabs and Flood are very much alike, imo. :P But them alone being FPS shooters is enough to govern which game is better. They really aren't so different.

 

Half-Life is still better, though. :P I recommend you go out and buy the Orange Box. It's amazing.

Half-Life's storyline is much more intelligent and more original than Halo's. Graphics can't be measured, considering the first Halo had the same graphical depth as Half-Life 2 and Halo 3 is about 6 years ahead of Half-Life. Weapons are weapons. The fact the Half-Life contains the crowbar as the main weapon and has a gravity gun makes it so much better than Halo as far as cool weapons. The only characters worth mentioning from Halo are Johnson & the Arbiter. Don't even talk to me gameplay. >.>

jackals are hard to kill cuz of shields.grenade or rpg will kill em though

Halo has good multiplayer and a somewhat alright campaign. That's about it.

I agree with bran master chief is beast, he jumps higher than freeman, master chief uses a energy sword at times and you have to admit being able to rush them with that sword is better than a plain ass crowbar, and just because a cool picture of him says he's better is idiotic.

Master Chief has a super suit on him. No it's not better than a crowbar, because Master Chief has a limited amount of battery, and it's an alien weapon, and it isn't a default weapon. There is a significant amount of fail about that. On the other hand, Gordon takes out his trusty DEFAULT crowbar, and sends blood splatters everywhere by beating down his opponents. Rushing is nothing compared to looking down upon your enemies remains after doing battle with your crowbar and bashing his head in. By the way, I saw the picture and saw that it spoke true words. You want idiotic, look at your grammar and fan boy argument.

 

Half Life Storyline > Halo Storyline

Halo has much better multiplayer.

The day after you made this thread. You hyped it up so much and kept bashing on Halo so I thought I'd give it a try. And it was for the computer.

I like Halo, but everyone hypes it up when besides it's multiplayer it really isn't that awesome. Also, I don't know where you got it, because they don't sell it at gamestop anymore and they wouldn't take it used because the original came out in 1999. Can't buy the second for the computer either. The only one sold anymore that I know of is Half-Life 2 on the Orange Box for the 360. So you're either lying or magic.
