Something my friend and I came up with in Math Class:

 

Negative Zero World

Field Spell

Spell Cards are treated as Trap Cards and must be set for one turn before they can be activated. Trap Cards are treated as Spell Cards and can be activated from the hand. The Levels of all face-up monsters on the field are multiplied by -1. Change the Attributes of all face-up monsters to a different Attribute based on the following: DARK: LIGHT. LIGHT: DARK. WIND: EARTH. EARTH: WIND. WATER: FIRE. FIRE: WATER. DIVINE: DARK DIVINE. DARK DIVINE: DIVINE.

 

When played, everything's colour scheme would be reversed and would be flipped upside-down.

 

Now, community thread for Negative Zero Deck.

 

Negative Zero Cruncher [DARK]

Fiend/Tuner

***

This card is unaffected by the effects of "Negative Zero World". When this card battles, the battling monster loses ATK equal to it's Level x-250. If this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, destroy 1 monster with a Level of 4 or lower when it's original Level is multiplied by -1.

ATK: 1100

DEF: 400

 

Negative World Traveler

DARK

Warrior/Effect

4/1300/1800

If "Negative World" is active, this card gains 600 ATK and cannot be destroyed by card effects.

 

Negativity Dragon

DARK

Level: -5

[DRagon/Effect]

If you control "Negative Zero World" and no monsters, and your opponent controls a card(s), you can Special Summon this card from your hand.

DEF/ 1200

 

Negative Ruler [DARK]

Fiend/Synchro/Effect

LV: 9

"Negative Zero Cruncher + 1 or more non-Tuner monster

This card is unaffected by the effects of "Negative Zero World". When this card battles, the battling monster loses ATK equal to it's Level x-500. This card cannot be destroyed by Spell Cards. Synchro monsters are treated as Fusion monsters, Toon monsters are treated as Tuner monsters, and Spirit monsters are treated as Gemini monsters.

DEF: 3000

 

Negative Horror - Aladsu

DARK DIVINE

Fiend/Dark Synchro (That's right)

-8/3000/3000

1 "Negative" Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters OR

1 monster - 1 Dark Tuner monster

This card can be either Synchro Summoned or Dark Synchro Summoned from the Extra Deck. This card can only be Synchro Summoned while you control "Negative World". This card is unaffected by other cards' effects. If this card would be destroyed in battle, increase its ATK by 500 instead. If you do not control "Negative World", return this card to the Extra Deck. This card gains the following effects based on the printed monster Attribute(s) your opponent controls:

DARK - Remove from play a monster this card destroys in battle.

LIGHT - Your opponent cannot Set monster cards.

WIND - Once per turn, return a random card in your opponent's hand to the Deck.

WATER - You may choose if a monster you control is affected by "Negative World"

FIRE - Deal 500 damage to your opponent at the end of each of their Phases.

EARTH - At the end of the Battle Phase in which this card attacked, destroy all other monsters.

DIVINE - Negate the effects of all DIVINE monsters.

DARK DIVINE - If this card battles a DARK DIVINE monster, destroy all cards on the field.

 

Negative Rule - Plus and Minus

Continuous Spell

This card is unaffected by "Negative Zero World". Once per turn, you can Tribute a "Negative" monster you control to take control of a monster your opponent controls with a Level equal to the Tributed monster. That card's name is also treated as "Negative". If a "Negative" monster battles another "Negative" monster, negate the effects of "Negative Zero World." After this effect is applied, if a "Negative" monster battles a non-"Negative" monster, reapply the effects of "Negative Zero World".

 

Zero Inverse

Continuous Spell

THis card is unaffected by the effect of "Negative Zero World". Activate only while you control "Negative Zero World". DRaw 2 cards, then turn both player's Decks upside-down. There can only be 1 face-up "Zero Inverse" on the field.

 

Negative Zero Reflect

Counter Trap

This card is unaffected by the effects of "Negative Zero World". Activate only while you control "Negative Zero World". Negate the activation of a Spell Card that includes the effect of Drawing cards, and instead that player discards the same number of cards.

Oh good, I was afraid you were going to make Divided By Zero, I already made that card for almost the same reason.

 

 

Nice concept, but almost impossible to playtest. Specifically because of the "Dark Divine" part and because it would just be weird and confusing.

 

 

Incidentally, would Traps become Normal Magic or Quick-Play Magic? Same thing with Normal Magic becoming Traps, they would end up being Speed 2, right?

 

 

Else, most people wouldn't get how they would trigger (seems only Curse of Fiend gets to be weird like that).

That was a last-minute decision, when I realized DIVINE had no Counterpart.

 

I don't think it's necessary to give it one.

 

 

Certainly gets excluded from Clear World. Card has to have an opening somewhere.

That's because it wasn't a real Attribute when Clear World was written. I intend to include it now.

But back to my question: Would Traps end up Normal Magic or Quick-Play Magic because that would just confuse people since they haven't tried that sort of thing since Curse of Fiend.

Whenever I passed by that, it always confused me. I think that's what the creator meant, but

- x - = +, so...

That's why I changed it to x-500, but I suppose that is confusing, yes.
