Help me catch up on YGO?

I've been an exclusive RPer for a while and I have completely out of touch from YGO and I fear that the OCG has changed dramatically. I also only have a blurry idea of how some the newer card types work like Synchro and Dark Synchro. Could you people be so kind as to update me about the world of YGO after Gemini.

Thing is, YGO wikia won't tell me about the things I don't know to search. The new YGO rules are an unknown unknown for me. Help me make them knowns or at least known unknowns.
