John smiled. "Well, if you say so," he commented, walking backwards and dropping one of the pokéballs into his other hand. I think this is the best option, he mused, at least for now

"Alright, Tropius, you're up," he called as he pushed the button to open the sphere. A flash of red light emerged, and formed the shape of a green and brown dinosaur-like creature, with plant-like wings and yellow fruits hanging from it's chin.

"Trophius!" the creature cried out.

"Well, there you go. Now, let's see what you've got."

Zach had read a review about The Sinnoh Patch and was about ready to catch all the Legendary Pokemon. Then Zach wondered, if someone had caught a Legendary pokemon already...nobody could get that same pokemon. Zach's eyes widened as he knew they would have to go faster. He tried to hold onto Metagross as tightly as possible. All Porygon had to do was attach himself to Metagross again. Zach prepared himself for the worst.

Krystal nodded approvingly. At least he doesn't only use overly popular Pokemon. She lobbed the Pokeball in her hand forward and the ball opened, releasing a large red arachnid with a sharp horn on its forehead. The spider had six legs, two of which jutted out from its back and each leg was yellow with a purple band. In front of its mouth, two sharp, clearly poisonous fangs clicked together menacingly.

"Meet Aria," Krystal said, grinning. The Ariados made a faint hissing sound as it looked the Tropius over. "Spider Web!" she called immediately. The Ariados clicked its fangs once and spat thick strands of webbing from its mouth, lining the trees and bushes around them with the gooey webbing, the strands stretching into a traditional spiderweb look.

"Poli! Politoed! Toed!" The pokemon called out as it jumped through the undergrowth. It was moving very quickly and Jake, its trainer, couldn't keep up.

"Hey Politoed! Slow down!" He shouted, and to its credit Politoed stopped. The reason for its stopping though was not Jakes call. Politoed looked around and sniffed the air he had found what he had been looking for. It bounced off again as soon as Jake got close to it.

"I thought I told you to..." He stopped mid sentance as he saw what his pokemon had been moving towards, "Oh." A wonderful pond was in front of him and Politoed was casually floating in the water.

One of Bridger's Pokeballs fell from it's holster on his belt, and landed with a thud. Espeon emerged. Bridger, trying to keep a calm character, attempted to grab his purple feline. Espeon hopped out from within his arms and walked aimlessly towards the "Spider" and the "Dinosaur".

Bridger flew out from behind the tree missing Espeon's tail by millimeters. He was afraid he had attracted the attention of the battling trainers. Waving his hand above his head with a nervous look on his face Bridger shouted,"Don't mind me! Just watching."

Ah, so she did use that one.

John watched as the Ariados surrounded the area with webbing. That wouldn't be a problem - not yet anyway.

"Field control, eh? Well two can play at that game. Tropius, take off and use Sunny Day."

The dinosaur-like creature beat it's wings and, apparently defying the laws of physics, lifted off from the ground. At the same time light seemed to seep from it, and the sun also seemed to get brighter, bathing the field in a bright light.

At that moment, an Espeon wandered towards the field, followed by a teenage boy. The youngster noticed the, and waved at them to carry on. Already looking back to the battle, John threw up a thumb to acknowledge him.

The intensifying sunlight stung Krystal's eyes, forcing her to use a hand to shield them from the piercing glare. She could see Aria and John, but didn't dare lift her gaze towards the Tropius and the sun itself. "Aria, chase after it using Bounce," Krystal ordered. The Ariados hissed and its legs crouched, then it launched itself upwards with jumping strength no one would have believed it had, quickly reaching the same level of height as the opposing Tropius.

"Before it gets you, use your Night Shade!" Krystal shouted up to the spider Pokemon. Aria's eyes began to glow and waves of purple-black energy began to seep from its body towards the tropical Pokemon.

At Krystal's side, Arctic was eating the berries she had collected from the nearby bush, but at the moment, the Glaceon's attention was captured by the Espeon that had come out of nowhere. "Glay?" she called to the feline, ignoring the human that seemed to be chasing after the psychic kitty.

"Brace for impact!" John shouted, as the attack struck. Above, Tropius shut her eyes and growled as the dark energy hit. For a moment, the impact seemed to stun the Grass-type.

"Come on, you can hold," John muttered, far too quietly for even Tropius to hear, let alone anyone else.

Slowly, she opened one eye, keeping it fixed on the spider.

"Now! Use Aerial Ace - send it downwards."

Tropius suddenly shot forward through the energy waves, slamming her head downward towards the spider pokémon.

Krystal let out a small cry at the Tropius' attack, Aria being slammed downwards by the impact. The spider hit the ground, seeming rather dazed. After a few seconds, it got up and hissed at the Tropius. Krystal smiled at the spider Pokemon's resolve. "If you're okay, Aria, use Signal Beam!" she said.

Aria clicked her fangs once and the horn on her forehead glowed, propelling a beam of energy, a mixture of pink, yellow, and blue all swirling around together in a dazzling display of color and motion.

It recovers quickly, John noted.

"Tropius, about turn and counter with Solarbeam," he called.

Tropius was still moving past where the Ariados was a few seconds before. Quickly she swung her neck around, looking down past her wing. As soon as she saw the multicoloured energy heading towards her, she understood, and fired a blast of intense light downwards, directly towards the incoming attack. The two beams slammed into each other, giving off yet more light. Even John, who was used to trying to see through Tropius' sunny day, had to look away.

"Just hold it, Tropius," he called out.

Krystal shielded her eyes with her arm finding the brightness from the dual beams and the intense sunlight to be too much to handle. She knew that Aria wouldn't be able to hold her Signal Beam for long, and certainly not against a Sunny Day bolstered Solar Beam. With all the blinding light, she as an observer did not see a tactical advantage to exploit and therefore was forced to hope Aria was more alert or capable at finding one before the Signal Beam gave out.

As she expected, the Ariados' Signal Beam flickered out, the Solar Beam cutting through the remnants of the beam and striking the ground where the Ariados had been standing. When the light faded, Krystal was alarmed to see that Aria hadn't moved at all and had taken the full force of the attack. Even so, the spider's eyes opened and it made another menacing hiss.

"Nah, Aria, come back," Krystal said, lifting the spider's Pokeball and drawing it back inside.

John smirked. "I thought that would happen." As he watched, he noticed the spider was still able to get up. "Not bad," he muttered.

As Tropius ceased her attack, and began to close in on her opponent, it vanished in a red light.

"I though that might happen as well," he added, "Tropius, use Razor Leaf and take out the webs, then regroup." I don't want those up, given what I suspect is probably coming

Tropius sent a few curved leaves spinning out from her wings, rushing in all directions, straight at the spider webs around the battleground. Tropius didn't even look to see if they hit, already heading back to where John was standing, ready for what came next.

"I know what I'd do, but then it depends on what else she has."

Bridger's eyes widened. Astonished by the features he has been exposed to, Bridger was afraid to see what would happen next. Besides the amount of power these pokemon have been giving off, the size of the Tropius had him going too. He grew curious to whether or not what he was seeing was as amazing as he was seeing it.

Krystal mulled over her next choice, before deciding it was a no-brainer. She put Aria's Pokeball back into her jacket and plucked a different Pokeball out. "You're up, Golbat!" she said, lobbing the Pokeball up. The light burst from the Pokeball, forming into the shape of a bat. The light faded, showing the blue bat's colors and features. It screeched, showing Tropius its gaping mouth and impressive fangs.

"I'll let Arctic sit this one out," she voiced aloud, kneeling and stroking the Glaceon's white fur. She stood again. "Golbat, use Confuse Ray!" The bat made a wicked grin and its eyes glowed red, staring into the Tropius' face as if seeing through it entirely. A brilliant flash lit the surroundings.

"Politoed return!" Jake said wearily, holding up his pokeball. The pokemon turned into a bright ball of red energy and flew back in a beam. He looked around the area that his Politoed had led him and noticed that while at first it seemed like pond, was actually a large and beautiful lake.

"Woah..." He whispered to himself. Jake had heard about lakes like these, they were dotted all around the world. The question he couldn't quite find an answer to though was which region he was in. After travelling around and not really talking to anyone and staying away from towns and cities, you forgot things like that.

"Actually nevermind. This place is too amazing to care."

Not what I expected. Well, maybe I expected it could happen, but it wouldn't have been my first choice

Tropius was blinded for a moment by the flash. As she regained her vision, she felt strangely light headed. She tried to shake it off, but it just made her dizzy. Annoyed by the sensation, she began to hit her body with her head repeatedly.

"Tropius, come down," John called. Fortunately Tropius heard him, but she was only too happy to respond, and she dropped to the ground with a thud that almost seemed to move the ground.

"OK, Tropius, we're operating under confusion rules. You understand?"

Tropius nodded in agreement.

"Well then, lets start with Magical Leaf, 11 o'clock."

Tropius responded by sending a different set of leaves, these glowing with a greenish hue, towards the Bat pokemon. Her aim was wide, but as the leaves approached the traget they veered in.

"Counter it with Air Cutter!" Krystal suggested. Golbat slashed its wings, sending sharp blades of air towards the approaching leaves, slicing through them. "Close in and use Heat Wave!"

The Golbat flew towards the Tropius and fluttered its wings at a high speed, heating the air around its wings and fanning it towards its foe. The faster the Golbat fanned, the more noticeable the heat waves rose up from the heated wind. Krystal watched, alert for anything that Golbat might have overlooked during its attack.

"Now that, I wasn't expecting," John conceded as the Golbat proceeded to use a fire move. Still, I think she can block it.

"Tropuis, Gust."

Tropius fanned it's own wings, blowing the hot air back towards the Golbat. Ordinarily, when the air currents had met, Golbat's attack might very well have gotten through, but because it was heating the air, it wasn't as dense as that forming the counter-attack, resulting in the hot air being diverted straight over Tropius' head.

I see that you wrote a lot, but I need more in the Appearance. What does he SPECIFICALLY look like?

Metagross continued down the hill and down the path. Dust flew up in a large cloud behind them. The trees passed as if they were being thrown like baseballs at 90mph. It was an amazingly fast speed.

Then, the abrupt stop. Metagross put its front two legs forward to stop them just before the lake. They were there, and it was great. The waters were sparkling. Pokemon were happily climbing the trees and swimming the lake. It was an incredible site.

Daniel climbed off Metagross slowly.

"Finally," Daniel exclaimed.

He pulled the other three small spheres from his belt. Then, with a small flick of the wrist, they were shot into the air; twirling rapidly. They opened and shot out three red beams of light. One being Magmar, another Gyarados, who appeared in the Lake, and the last being Roserade. The red lights cleared and the Pokemon emerged.

"Enjoy," he said calmly.

Krystal blinked at the unexpected counter. "Golbat, bite it with Poison Fang!" she said, seizing the opportunity to attack at the closer range. Golbat obeyed, lunging forward to clamp its teeth upon Tropius' wing, the fangs taking on a sickly purple color as it did so. Krystal winced, hoping that, if the bite worked, that the grass type wouldn't be too badly hurt by it. Golbat's fangs were rather nasty, as experience had taught her, thankfully never at her own expense. She had taken to carrying emergency antidotes on hand to avoid seriously damaging wilds or trainer Pokemon alike, if doing so would cause suspicion or undesired attention.

Arctic continued to eye the Espeon curiously, but so far had been ignored.

Tropius was still light-headed, until Golbat's fangs crunched down on the wings. Roaring in pain, she began to beat her wings against the ground, but her strokes seemed to weaken as the poison began to take effect. This isn't good. John had Tropius' pokéball in hand, and rolled it in his palm for a few seconds, thinking. Eventually he reached a decision.

"Tropius, drop out and recover," he called, aiming the sphere at the pokémon. A beam of red light emerged, absorbing Tropius, but not for long. John almost immediately released Tropius again - behind him.

"Take a break," he told her, "and use sythesis to get rid of that poison."

John turned back to Krystal. "You don't mind, do you? If her recovery is a problem, I won't bring her back out." He brought out one more pokéball. "I have confidence in my other pokémon anyway."

Golbat released its bite when the Pokeball absorbed the Tropius, and flapped its wings in glee at its triumph. Its expression immediately changed to a sort of death glare when the Tropius was released again. This change in demeanor was not lost on Krystal, who quickly answered, "This isn't a serious battle, so just use the next Pokemon and have it battle Golbat. Winning Pokemon is the winner. I'm not using Aria again, even though she can fight still."

Arctic's attention shifted back to the battle at hand and she nibbled another of the gathered berries, rubbing against Krystal's leg at random intervals. Her trainer didn't mind and it almost never messed up her concentration during a battle.
