Kira Magister Magi
Samurai, ninja, swordsmen... Yes, the first two actually still exist. The last one is general, but really anyone who WANTS to use a sword..
Blake
Ichigo Kurosaaaaaaaaaki is an example of the first. Then, look at many of the Final Fantsy games. Then, assorted books and shows have that as well.

---------------
On topic: A cliche thats not too common anymore, but still pretty bad: "All (insertwordhere) and no (insertotherwordhere)" Example: "All work and no play"/"All bark and no bite" etc. [spoiler=Off topic]I had another idea for a fanfic. Ok you know how lots of games, and movies, and books, and et cetera have the famed Easter Eggs in them? Well, what would happen if the Easter Eggs were more than meets the eye? (Ooh, another cliche!) So, when two characters from different worlds see or touch or are in an Easter Egg (cause the eggs come in different shapes and forms), they would switch places! And, of course, there will be an over-arching storyline. I know that game combination threads are popping up more and more often, but still I think this is a good idea! What do you think? Blake
Wonderland, as well as Huck Finn, were written while on Lead and/or Weed. The Mad Hatter is mad, due to Lead Poisoning from the old way of making hats. It's true.

Twig
Who knew you could write a good story while drunk. >looks over to keg of beer. grabs it and nonchalantly leaves< Actually, I don't know anyone who wrote something good while drunk. Alice in Wonderland was somewhat relevant because the author was high on weed(which is different from being drunk). But if you can write something good while high on weed, you can probably do it while drunk. I won't be adding that tip since it's a no-brainer tip and there are some exceptions. Besides, most of YCM are kids, including me.
