radio414
There's a book for PoP? That sounds like an excuse to make money. Then again, so does the movie.
Akumakagemaru
I have a question. Why is it whenever there is a movie or something else about a book then why do people start reading it? Harry Potter' date=' Percy Jackson, Maximum Ride, Twilight, etc etc . . .[/quote'] Before the Twilight trailers came out, I had no idea such a book existed. Same here. Still haven't read it. Wait' date=' it went from a video game to a movie, then to a book? That's...weird. I haven't seen much movies about video games.[/quote'] Agreed. At least the movie looks impressive...can't say I'm impressed by the idea of a book of it though.
Kaisu
I just finished Keys to the Kingdom. THE ENTIRE SERIES!! And I hadn't heard about Twilight until after the movie.
DL
I've seen anime turned to manga, so it doesn't seem that weird. But a game turning to a book to a movie? Wow.
Mr.WHAM
I believe there's a game that got turned into a movie and may end up as a boook
DL
It'd be weirder if there was a poem that was turned toa song that was turned to a book that was turned into a musical.
Mr.WHAM
That would be a fail....
DL
That would be odd. Too odd.
Akumakagemaru
That would be a fail.... That would be odd. Too odd. I agree with both points. And not just because I hate musicals.
Mr.WHAM
Then why out of curiosity?

Akumakagemaru
Oh. That's easy. I'm irritated enough at the excessive transformation of "book-to-movie" tactics hollywood's using lately, especially when they can't even do it right. To this day I can't stand watching the Eragon movie because of how badly and utterly they butchered it. Its like the writer read the cliffnotes of the cliffnotes for crying out loud! Anyways, the idea of turning a poem into a song, then a book, and then a musical...every transition is another chance for some idiot to mangle what originally made the source material good. DL
Eragon the movie wasn't bad, unless you compare it to the book. Then it sucks.Funny thing is, you can hardly understand what's happening UNLESS you read the book.
Akumakagemaru
Exactly my point. I'm simultaneously salivating and dreading the idea of them making Eldest a movie, salivating because they might actually get it right, hopefully, and dreading because of all the Eragon books, that was the only one I absolutely loved re-reading several times. I don't think I could stop myself from boycotting it if they butchered it as badly as the first one.
DL
how CAN they? The guy that played Eragon is probably in his 20s by now. They just took too long for the movies. As long as for the books.
Twig
They ruined Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, too. I don't think they can make Sea of Monsters anymore... Edit: Also, we're close to 1000 posts. =D
Akumakagemaru
Doesn't mean the won't try...I've seen them drag a perfectly good movie or two into the ground tying to squeeze every last penny out of it, and I'm sure you have too. Home Alone, for example. They should've stopped at 3.They ruined Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief' date=' too. I don't think they can make Sea of Monsters anymore... Edit: Also, we're close to 1000 posts. =D[/quote'] ......WHAT?! I haven't seen it yet...if they massacred that one too, someone in hollywood is going to die... DL
I thought there were only 3. The first 2 were incredible. I didn't watch the 3rd one.
Akumakagemaru
The third one was great, as god as the first two, if not btter. The fourth was all right - on its own, anyways - but its' barely even a shadow of its predecessors, and a mockery of the incredible humor of Home Alone. DL
Yeah, I know the 3rd one used this kid with brown hair. I should have watched them again. But the funniest movie of all tiem, IMO, is Hangover.

Akumakagemaru
...The Hangover, although funny for the most part, very nearly left me with mental scarring...ugh, I barely remember the pictures they were looking at in the end, probably because I blocked them out. Funny, yes. Disturbing, absolutely.
DL
It had an interesting plot, though.
