Azerty-of-KoL
How about a continent mostly populated with large cities and suburbs' date=' but it also has pockets of pure wilderness scattered around? These pockets are regarded as sacred and there are many legends about gods that reside in these forests, plains, deserts, etc.[/quote'] That sounds like a great idea. But what period of time is on? Modern time.

Eury
Mythology and Medieval work best together. Or the time of Ancient Rome. But, with the Gods and Lands I plan on making, Medieval would probably be best.

Azerty-of-KoL
Maybe an evil god starts to poison the minds of the people, persuading them to commit evil acts. A hero tries reverse this and gets help from some of the other gods.

How about the people don't know there's such thing as gods and one of the evil gods reveal the secret?
Eury
I thought of something, but it would be very similar to Hercules. But I also thought of something else. Maybe something like, there's a guy. He loves a girl but she dies of a fatal disease. To restore her life, he must visit the 8 Gods and the 8 Goddesses and retrieve an item from each of them. When the 16 items are together, they create an energy that can revive someone from the dead. While traversing the land(s) he must face hardships and kill demons sent by Eurynome (ruler of the Underworld) who are trying to prevent said guy from retrieving said girl's soul, as the souls of the dead give Eurynome power. Eury
I don't think trying to bring somebody back from the grave is a good thing... Anyways, maybe make him have friends that help him? Like I said, Mythology is my thing. ;D And yeah. By hardships I kinda meant he makes friends along the way, he gets in a fight with one of them but they make up towards the end. That kind of generic stuff but less generic. =/

EliminateHRN
@Twig: Oh, okay. I didn't read it was optional. I'm not very good with plots (that's the trouble I'm having right now in a book series I'm writing), but I'm good at making characters. For fan-fics I have several left over. =] Same with books. radio414
Username: radio414 Favorite Books/Books Currently Reading:Robert Langdon series with a special preference for Angels and Demons.I also like the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. [spoiler=Writing Example:]Everyone hated her. There was no way one could not hate her. She was unpleasant, rude, racist, sexist, etc. All the qualities that make someone be hated. Even her friends hated her, to a degree. How could one not hate the likes of her? She showed the exact same responses and personality to her friends as she had to everyone else. The only people who didn't hate her were her parents, who merely disliked her. Then she died. She was found dead in her bathroom hanging from a makeshift noose of bedsheets. Somehow, her death was unsettling. It's as if her presence was the only thing that balanced the spectrum in the community where she had lived. Without her, there was no balance. No weight on the other side of the scale. No Maria

radio414
How does one go about killing a God?You could chop them up into 1000 pieces, and then hope that they don't come back, I guess, but that isn't really killing them. I mean Kronos came back in Rick Riordan's books. He was in one thousand little pieces.
