OT: Started a new file on Gold. Other one sucked. Out of boredom' date=' I might try and beat the game with only 3 Pokemon.

[/quote']

If I could find my Gold I would do that. It you force me to get over my "unable to delete save data disease." For example I want to start a new save in the 3rd gen games, but I can't bring myself to do so.

I hope it still works

I've got the same thing, but for the Gen 4 games. It sucks. D:

Eh, I'm having hard time deciding what 3 to use. I'll probably have a Hoothoot/Pidgey and something else for HM slaves. So technically, I'll have 5 Pokemon, but I'll really only be using 3 to beat it. For teh lulz, I might use Furret as 1 of the 3.

For the easiest time go with Amp, Ty, and Jynx. That should be enough to beat most gyms and the E4.

Good luck if you use Furret.

Since it's kind of one topic, when I get SS I'm thinking about using a Meganium and Golem as part of my main team. that should be fun.

Me being up for 16 hours really ain't helping me here. D: Ty is Tyranitar right? Or Typhlosion? I'm thinking Typhlosion since T-Tar isn't available till you get to Silver Cave.

I like starting with Meganium. It gives the game a bit more of a challenge.

Phlosion.

But with those 3 you get type cover for 6 gyms (but I don't think you'll have the right pokemon for two of them) and 2 E4 members. Just get some ground pokemon and your good to go. But then again you'll be over the 3 pokemon mark.

I've been thinking...

Typhlosion

Furret/Jynx

Ampharos

That's pretty much what you said FD, but Jynx isn't available till Ice Cave, so...yeah. I'll use Furret till I get Jynx since he can learn Ice Punch. I know there are probably better options, but I like Furret.

For my HM slaves, I'll probably use Pidgey, Shuckle and a Water type for Surf, Whirlpool and Waterfall.

Fair enough. It is your run though. I'm the type to only get pokemon that I'm going to train when I do my runs.

Your still going to need Rock Smash and Strength. Shuckle should be able to learn Smash and Strength is one of the better HMs, so you seem good.

How was this challenging? It has the weakest E4 of all the games.

Because the game continues with more gym leaders and eventually Red. The other games end with the Elite Four' date=' or carry on with some bonus area like a Battle Tower.

The gym leaders after that are also weak. If memory serves at least are only as hard as E4 members. The others aren't that hard since by that point you should be ready for them. I will say that Red was hard, but that one thing doesn't make the whole game hard.

(Machamp = Lv50 in this instance)

Machamp used Cross Chop! It's Super Effective!

*about 15 seconds of health draining later*

Snorlax fainted!

Moral of Story: Red isn't that hard.

And this is coming from the person that said it was one of the harder ones.

Fun fact: I've never used a Machamp. In fact I don't think I've used a trade evo pokemon on any of my main teams side from my Red. I'm going to change this since I'm going to use a Machamp in my HG run.

Machamp is a beast so it isn't that odd that he can take down Lax.

Red cries at the thought of Electric, Ground, and Fighting type attacks.

And Flame Dragon, same here. I've never used an evolve by trading as my main team. I'm thinking my team may end up looking something like this:

Typhlosion, Ampharos, Gengar, Machamp, and 2 HM Slaves. Think I may just AR 2 Mews into it for the job.

This game was hard for one reason:

MILTANK used ROLLOUT!

Miltank know's Milk Drink now. Same thing as Recover.

Wait' date=' instead of Rollout or with it? If with it, God helps us all.

[/quote']

Yes. It has both now.

Miltank used rollout and milk drink in Crystal.

Not Whitney's. It knew Rollout, Body Slam, Attract, and Defense Curl.

Whitney's Miltank knew Milk Drink in the 2nd Gen games. It uses it pretty much every time.

Current Status on Gold:

Training in Route 29.

Cyndaquil (Hel) Lv9

Sentret (Ratatosk) Lv8

Didn't play much yesterday. Only played for about 45 min.

Anyone who can guess the origin of my Pokemon's nicknames gets a +rep. =]

No. It didn't. In my Silver version' date=' it had the moves I listed.

Doesn't show anywhere what moves her Miltank knows in Silver.

It didn't have Stomp in Silver, either. And where did you find that image? Wasn't on the page he linked me to.

It was in that page. You have to click where it says "show" next to whitney's sprite; where, in the pic he posted, there it says "hide" now.
