I've finally decided to get off my ass and post this.

 

Why? Because I'm so addicted to this game that it's inexcusable. The gameplay was little bit off, but the plot, and battle style, made this the first RPG turn based game I approve of.

 

Here, you can post all those trouble some fusions you're trying t get to, and we'll aid you as best we can. I've found a useful little site that has most, if not all of the fusions, but you never know.

You can also ask for tips and pointers to get through towers, develop social links, and boss battles.

trust me dude the final boss nix the only way you survive it is if you only have the messiah

Nah. you can beat Nyx without Messiah. You just have to have strategy. For instance, know which Arcanas (when it switches) you can use basic attacks on. Know when to rush, and know when to switch to standby and Heal/Support.

I've played Persona 3 and beaten it, I'm on the last level of Persona 4, but I decided to go back and play Persona 3 FES and The Answer before finishing it. Looking back, Persona 4 is much better. It annoys me that I can't control my allies. Cause the AI kinda fails.

But they're still amazing games, definitly some of my favorites. Makes me want to try some of the other Megami Tensei games.

I only have 1 complaint about Persona 4. NO THANATOS!

Yeah. Still, there are some other cool Personae, but Thanatos was always the best in my opinion.

Persona 4 would be better than P3 in every way, if only it had Thanatos. Other than that, P4>P3

I especially like how it's up to you when your parties Personae evolve, rather than their evolution being scheduled events like in P3. Or how you can actually control them! Seriously, like I said before, not being able to control my allies in P3 is seriously annoying.

Also, has anyone else played The Answer? If so, I want to learn whether or not there's anything other than dungeon crawling to do...if there isn't, I want to mentally prepare myself for the boredom of endless Shadows with nothing else to do.

Also, Metis is now one of my favorite Persona characters.

I love how I explained Persona to you back during the summer Dori and you finally got access to it recently.

 

P3 has a better storyline and is actually harder than 4 since 4 was made easier on purpose. 4 however has more endings (P3 has about 2 while 4 has 5/6). My only complaint about 4 was that it was simply too easy except for the true endings boss (SPOILER ALERTTTT)

Who actually took a bit of smarts to beat. Where as in 3 (fes in general here) you have places like monid with lv 100 monsters and the secret boss (OMGSPOILERS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!)

the latter being intensely hard without Hell's Judgment and Thunder Reign and even then you had to be careful. 3 also lets you fight the reaper and if you think about it 3 is a lot darker then 4. But in my world P2: Innocent Sin is still my MST lovechild (Then MST 3)

You could fight Reaper in P4 I think. i haven't fought it in either game, but I've checked and if I remember right then it's in both games.

P4 I find is just overall a better game. You can control your party so they don't make stupid, useless moves that cause you to die...constantly...

The characters are more interesting and real, as in they feel like people you'd actually know. The characters in P3 just seem too...sterotypical. To me anyway.

Although I do agree, Monid was a cool inclusion, definitly a great place to train in the later parts of P3. I would have fought Nyx at around lv.72 if I hadn't gone in there a few times. by the time I beat the game, my level was up from 72 to 96.

BTW, it's Izanami-no-Okami. I'm on her level right now...and failing...horribly...my stats are practically at 0, I have no money to pay the fox, and I don't have a single Ultimate Personae...no wait, I do have the Ultimate Lovers Persona, Ishtar. Other than that, all of my Personae are somewhat...under leveled...

Monad got me from 72 to 93 in two days. It also got me Messiah, Satan, and Beelzebub. Super happy because now all I need is Lucifer, but I'm still too lazy to max out his Arcana (Star).

 

I managed to get my Alice to inherit Mabufudyne, and so I got Thanatos with Mabufudyne. Alas, Messiah with Ziodyne, Mabufudyne, Salvation, Megidolaon, Poison Mist (lolOrpheus), Die for Me!, Null Dark, and Regenerate 3. =D

 

Thanatos was Ziodyne, Mabufudyne, and Die for Me. Orpheus was Poison Mist, and Null Dark. Originally, t inherited Agilao, but Agilao changed to Megidolaon. o.O It already had Regenerate 3 and Salvation.

 

I was disappointed at the way they made Satan. >_> He looks stupid to me.

I'm still trying to Level up personas for P3's secret boss. I need Max Empress and Max...Priestess. I'd feel safer with Orpheus Telos though, if I wasn't too lazy to max ALL social links.

Repel Physical Decarabia is amazing. As is Daisoujou.

 

I've never played P3, but P4 is my favourite RPG ever, and I've played a lot of them. I honestly can't think of a single character in that game that I don't like except for Chie.

 

Voice acting is incredible all-around except Chie's and Yukiko's. Everybody else is very believable. No surprise, considering the VA cast.

 

I'm thinking of making "Welcome... to the Velvet Room." my SMS ringtone. :P

Make sure you get Orpheus Telos. He kicks major ass even though he doesn't start with a single move.

I agree, Chie rocks! She's my favorite character (Well, tied with Naoto).

I still wish that P4 had Thanatos. If it did, it would be perfect.

Also, I recently started playing FES, and I imported my original P3 file, which gave me all my dating stats, special items, and my Persona Compendium. What annoys me is that all of my Persona in the Compendium were reduced to their defaults, without any of the bonuses or inherited abilities...meaning my Thanatos doesn't know Die For Me!

...oh well, when I get to that point in the game, I'll just buy all the fusion materials, level them up, and bingo. Still, it's annoying that FES reduced my compendium to default.

Chie has one major problem: she sounds like a 30-year-old.

 

Besides, she doesn't really fit anywhere in particular, be it in battle or personality:

- Rise's a ditz, Naoto's calm, Chie is somewhere in between therefore forgettable.

- Kanji has the best physical moveset, Teddie has the best Bufu moveset, Chie is somewhat in between therefore forgettable.

 

I don't like having a party and controlling only one character - that is the single reason I haven't given P3 a shot. that, and I happened to hear a couple of lines by Igor in P3 - it's clearly the same voice actor, and he clearly improved in P4. I don't want to ruin the great image I have of the creepy old man.

There is still Izanagi. He may be weak, but he looks GREAT!!! P3 FES was the best one to me, but that is probably because it was the first one I played. P4 is also epic, anyone who hasn't played it, get it NOW!!! Also, when you reach the date 12/03 on P4, LOOK UP A GUIDE!!! This determines what ending you get. Also, when you go and say good bye to your friends very near the end, LOOK UP THE GUIDE AGAIN!!! This also determines what ending you get. You will thank me later...trust me.

 

Persona Series= Best RPG games ever! I don't care what you say!

....So now we're getting Persona 3 Portable for the PSP.

 

Two reasons to get this, even if you played the original.

 

Female Protagonist = new social links + new spin on old social links + new outlook on story.

P4's manual party control function.

 

Everything else is just gravy.
