Anyways, it's not too far away at the moment. Definatley in our lifetimes, but maybe when we are 20 or 30 (or even older, depending on how old you are at the moment).

It would never replace 2d, but yeah i think there will eventually be a possibility for 3d, but it will more likely skip straight to virtual reality.

agreed with above essentially in the fact that there would be alot more lame effects where characters reach out at you and the game would move slower and most likely not be as graphically pleasing.

Aren't games 3D nowadays. I mean look at Duke Nukem 3D.

 

Anyway on a serious note, even though it will be possible it won't be a big hit until next gen.

I still prefer my 100% 2D Games on the GBA to all this new-fangled console stuff. Don't try making it any more 3D now.

Lulz. Thats what i love about sonic. It requires no skill(with the exception of the chaos emerald minigame in Sonic 2). You just press buttons and eventually get to the end.
