Question about Fanfics

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the Fanfic section or here, but through logic I was able to deduct that the probable answer to that would be here. xD

 

My question is just regarding the nature of a Yu-Gi-Oh fanfiction and it's duels: do fanfics use 4000 or 8000 LP? Are there any distinct reasons? I've started writing my own and I'm using 8000 because I want longer, more intense duels but I'm starting to rethink my situation. Can I get some help and pros/cons of using anime-styled 4000 LP or real-game 8000 LP?

I like 4000 just 'cause it's shorter, and the duels don't drag on and on!

Fanfics can use either, but I believe 4000 is better for fics.

 

In real life, 8000 is much better since it is correct for balance, but in a fanfic, duels should not be the only focus and 4000 LP allows you to have shorter duels when needed without resorting to ridiculous OTKs - and short duels can often be a good thing, either to show a character's power/cards or just to make the point a longer duel would without having to drag it on for as long.
