Silverchair are a bit better.

Chad Kroeger's got a great voicebut all their songs sound so similar.=/ Most of it is plain bad' date=' except Hero and Into the Night with Santana...-OH WAIT that's just Chad.>_>

...which he clearly ripped off from other rock vocalist.

and Hero isn't a Nickleback song either lol. Not only do not like Chad as I a musician, but as a person as well. I read that the guy is a major dick (whichclearly he is, if you are going to write a song called "Something In Your Mouth" but release a single like "If Today Was Your Last Day")

How can you rip it off? It's the voice timbre you're born with, you can't copy it from anyone and put it on your vocal chords. Even if others sound smiliar. Only thing you can rip off is the singing style and mixing.

And I know what Hero is, that's what I said.

...Nah I still find his voice quite powerful and unique, if the music is good it can work well like on Hero and Into the Night. But the music of Nickelback isn't good so yeah.:/

um, yeah you can. Singers like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Bobby Womack and Scott Weiland have many diffrent vocal styles. It's not the sound of the voice, but the style they sing in.

and that huge baritone voice that Chad has came straight from Eddie Vedder. :p

Yes that's what I'm saying, read again.;)

But that's not the voice timbre, it's just the singing style.

I know this way of singing is overdone in Rock but I'm talking about his natural voice.

Look you get born with a voice, well too bad. You're stuck with it for the rest of your life and even if you have a deep voice but try to sing high-pitched you'll always have that certain voice timbre that is yours. Now if someone else in the world has a similar one or quite the same which always happens, you can change styles, modify it, just sing in tremolos but it's always YOUR voice and without vocal chords surgery you're never going to get rid of it. Now whose fault is it?

Meh I still like the type of voice he has and that others have too, whatever, I quite like the voice range.

But still Silverchair.
