The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Deity [CLOSED]

Recommended Posts

Hey there, everybody. I'd like to welcome you to my latest RP, which takes place within the magical realm of Hyrule, as seen in the Legend of Zelda. Although there certainly isn’t any shortage of Zelda RPs on this forum, I feel that I’ve established a truly refreshing storyline and environment here, and I’m hoping to find some enthusiastic participation. Sure, the Advanced Tag means you'll have to work a bit harder to be accepted, but I am determined to make this an enjoyable RP of the highest quality.

NOTE: Please realize that this RP occurs within an alternate timeline of the Legend of Zelda universe, taking place nearly one hundred and fifty years after Ganon was sealed away in the Sacred Realm during the events of The Ocarina of Time. Although it is helpful for potential applicants to possess some degree of familiarity with said universe, it is possible to participate without any prior knowledge, and every effort will be made to make the RP progress smoothly.

Please check out the information listed below, and take your first step into the many adventures that await you within the depths of the Phantom Deity universe!
It has now been more than a century and two decades since the King of Evil was sealed away in the confines of the Sacred Realm by the Hero of Time and the Seven Sages. During this time, golden peace and prosperity have once more blessed the kingdom of Hyrule, which had lain spellbound under Ganon’s tyrannical and sinister designs until his defeat. Although the years have blended together and been kind to the denizens of Hyrule, they have sunken once more into the dangerous complacency and fierce pride that weakened them and allowed Ganon to infiltrate their ranks and destroy them from the inside out. The Sacred Temples of Hyrule which played such an important role in sealing the King of Evil away now lay largely abandoned, their once gleaming halls in ruin and disrepair—few are those who remember the legends of the Hero of Time, and fewer still are those who truly believe.

While Princess Zelda was successfully able to restore order and stability to the haunted and barren wasteland left behind by Ganon, the Royal Family of Hyrule now fails to do their duty to the people, preferring to live in splendor and seclusion behind the high, gleaming walls of Hyrule Castle, oblivious to the growing danger and darkness that has begun to stir and grip the land once more. Although Zelda’s descendants have endured and flourished in this new age, the fact remains that the Hero of Time is nowhere to be found, having left behind no descendants to carry on his legacy of protecting the land of Hyrule from the forces of evil. For this reason, the kingdom of Hyrule has become dangerously unbalanced, and some virtue has gone out of the world with the continued absence of the Triforces of Power and Courage—for although the land of Hyrule has prospered during this time, a land ruled solely by dispassionate, heartless wisdom and logic can never truly be at harmony.

Meanwhile, within his prison in the Sacred Realm, the King of Evil stirs fretfully once more, beginning to wake from his dark sleep, and the very land cries out with growing uneasiness and fear as his influence upon the world grows stronger with each passing day. Although the majority of Hyrule’s inhabitants cannot sense the growing disturbances that have descended upon the land, there have always been those chosen by the Gods to change the very course of history, for better or worse. Although they are scattered across the people by the winds of chance and remain unknowing of the designs of the Gods, the day when they will assume the mantle of their fate draws close, for in this so-called ‘New Age’, gray-eyed Destiny weaves apace.

And even while these champions prepare for Ganon’s inevitable return, a new shadow is gathering on the horizon.
In this New Age, many of the ancient races have managed to stay alive and successfully preserve their traditions and lifestyles—however, for each people that has endured against the barriers of time, another has faded quietly into obscurity or been replaced entirely. As a messenger and champion of the Gods whose very presence will alter the fate of Hyrule, you are scattered across the many races that populate the land, where you can work your influences in a widespread manner.
NOTE: The following list of the most significant races is compiled for the sake of variety, and draws upon this RP's nature as an alternate timeline in which the people of Hyrule evolve in different manners than before—this means that several related races can exist at a time. For those of you who have no prior experience with the Legend of Zelda universe and are unsure which race to select, it is highly recommended that you read this section and click on the links for more detailed information. If you feel I missed a significant race and can justify its inclusion, I will add it to the list.
As one of the most ancient and populous races of Hyrule, the Hylians are noted for their predominantly humanoid appearances save for the curiously pointed ears they possess, which are reminiscent of those of elves. They worship a variety of Gods and deities, although they are specifically devoted to the three Golden Goddesses who are said to have created Hyrule—Din, Nayru, and Farore—and the legend of the Triforce. The Hylians also compose the most powerful ruling body in Hyrule, the Royal Family, which governs from their capital of Hyrule Castle Town. Although most Hylians live unextraordinary lives, they are known to be one of the races most in tune with magic, and possess a great affinity for sorcery and other unique abilities, such as second sight or telepathy.
Yet another of the oldest and most prosperous peoples of Hyrule, the Gorons are unique in their large, sturdy, and rocklike bodies. They are famed for their incredible strength and skill in creating swords, as well as their talent at working with metals. They are the most technologically advanced race of Hyrule, often creating elaborate machines and pulley systems that make mining easier. They are able to curl themselves up to roll speedily along sloping terrain, can cross through lava unharmed, and subsist mainly off a diet composed of different stones. The Gorons are slow to trust outsiders and must usually be won over with a great feat of bravery, strength, or intelligence—however, they are a generally friendly race with a strong affinity for stone and fire, which is reflected in their religious practices. They reside predominantly within the confines of Goron City, built into the walls of Death Mountain.
A proud and graceful people who guard the waterways of Hyrule, the Zora are a race of hospitable fish-like creatures who once owed their allegiance to the Royal Family of Hyrule long ago, in the days of the Hero of Time. Although they possess a great affinity for water, they are able to walk on land, as well. Having been entrusted to protect the source of all of Hyrule's pure water, Zora's Fountain, they consider their role as guardians quite important. The Zora are incredibly fast and efficient swimmers, and can breathe underwater for indefinite amounts of time. They are ruled by the King or Queen Zora, a title that is passed down from monarch to monarch, and reside within the aquatic caverns of Zora's Domain. Their worship is centered around water spirits and their patron fish deity, Lord Jabu-Jabu.
Rarely venturing from the shadowy, mysterious depths of the Lost Woods, the Kokiri are an ancient race composed exclusively of elf-like children with magical anti-aging characteristics. They rarely leave the safety of the forest, due to an old legend that says that any Kokiri who does so will eventually die. They are quite playful and clever, if a bit disorganized, and dress almost uniformly in various shades of green. They have a great love of music and are skilled in herbcraft. Each of the Kokiri is bonded to his or her own Fairy, who serves as both a playmate and a guardian. Their patron deity, the Great Deku Tree, watches over them and does his best to protect them.
From time to time, a human child will be stranded in the mysterious Lost Woods. If that child does not have a Fairy companion and does not manage to escape in time, they are transformed into Skull Kids, mysterious and playful creatures that haunt the Woods. They dress in predominantly red cloaks and hats that cover an underlayer of clothing comprised of straw-like material. The Skull Kids have a great affinity and appreciation for music of all kinds, often carrying various instruments along with them. Although they are capable of disappearing suddenly while in the Lost Woods, they are skilled sharpshooters who often shoot wooden projectiles from their flutes. They do not appear to have any form of organized religion and dedicate themselves solely to their own amusement and tormenting passing strangers. Although they are able to leave the Lost Woods, few ever do so.
Serving as the bodyguards of the Hyrule's Royal Family and the guardians of the ancient legends referring to the three Golden Goddesses, the Sheikah are a secretive and magical race hailing from Kakariko Village. They are known as the "Shadow Folk" and possess unparalleled prowess for magic and stealth, making them feared and respected by many. While much of their history and religion is shrouded in mystery, they seem to have some sort of worship related to darkness and death. The Sheikah are skilled warriors as well, and dress most regularly in concealing, form-fitting clothing adorned with their symbol, the Eye of Truth. The Sheikah also possess a slight reddish tinge to their eyes, which is the only discerning characteristic that separates them from the Hylians.
Hailing from the savage and barren desert lands far to the west of Hyrule, the Gerudo are a hardy race of humans, characterized by their distinctive red hair, dark skin, and golden eyes. In many ways, the culture of these desert-dwellers is strange to outsiders, such as the fact that the single Gerudo male that is born to them every hundred years automatically becomes their King. For this reason, the Gerudo are largely female and specialize in theft, although they are not unknown to accept converts of both genders to their "Clan of Thieves", provided they display sufficient talent and determination. They are known as warriors of skill and great repute across Hyrule, and dress most commonly in Arabic-themed clothing. Their religion is centered around the worship of the desert and their patron deity, the Goddess of the Sand.
Dwelling in the high and largely unexplored mountains near the distant sea located to the southeast of the Lost Woods, the Rito are a graceful race of birdlike creatures who possess the ability to fly. They are easily identified by their beak-like noses and birdlike feet, although in most other respects, they are similar to humans. Due to their similar cultures and appearances, it has been speculated that they are a distant relation of the Zora tribe, connected as deeply to the sky as their fishlike cousins are to water. Despite their unusual characteristics, the Rito aren't completely avian by birth—in order to develop wings, the Rito must receive a mystical scale from their patron deity, the Dragon Valoo, who dwells upon a high mountaintop and is the center of their worship.
A mysterious tribe that dwells within the snowy mountains to the northwest of Hyrule, the Hylian Dark Tribe rarely venture past their ice-bound region. An adaptation they possess to their environment is an unusual darkening of the skin to a purple-pinkish shade that better absorbs heat. Their origins are shrouded in mystery, although they were once allied to the Royal Family of Hyrule and guarded them. Three hundred years ago, they suddenly severed ties and migrated to the inhospitable north. Their religion worships a mysterious Winter Goddess known as Yambe-Anka. Their government can best be described as a democratic monarchy, meaning that while a royal family does exist, control of the Tribe switches regularly with time in a peaceful manner. Although the population of the Tribe is quite small—numbering no more than 200 people—they are fierce warriors who guard their borders zealously in fear of invasion and practice ice-related magic with great skill.
You are a champion of the Gods, endowed with a great destiny that draws ever closer. In this new Hyrule, where treachery and vice spread steadily under the guise of justice, appearances count for nothing. It is a time of distrust, betrayal, and masked intentions. With little preparation, you will soon be thrust into the middle of this delicate political situation, in which kings and queens maneuver fiercely for control of the land and its people. How will you meet the great destiny the Gods have foretold for you? Will you pledge your talents and energies to defending the kingdom against the spreading tide of corruption, or take advantage of the growing chaos to solidify your own fortunes in a true mercenary fashion?

Although you'll start your journey by default in Hyrule Castle Town, your character will soon be presented with a variety of quests to complete, which you can address more or less at your own pace. Regardless, the choice is yours, and the fate of Hyrule lies in your hands.
HyruleWorldMap.jpg

You can use the above map for geographical reference as to where the many regions of Hyrule are located. Generally speaking, Hyrule Field serves as the conjecture of the land like a hub, uniting the other regions. Although further details will be provided later, it's suffice to say that traversing the countryside would certainly take a while. The only races who need notable mention here are the Rito, who dwell on the cloudy mountains southeast of the Lost Woods near the sea (not displayed on map, roughly underneath the legend that says "Hyrule World Atlas"), and the Dark Hylian Tribe, who dwell in the snow-covered forests at the base of the high mountains far north of Hyrule Castle (not pictured here).
1. Don't God Mod. Doing so will result in one warning. Anytime after that warning will result in a ban from this RP.

2. Posts must contain some IC actions. Meaning no OoC only posts.

3. This is a high-action, engaging RP, and it requires that you post often. Failure to post for more than 5 days will result in expulsion from the RP.

4. The RP will use third-person narrative. This is to avoid confusion and allow for greater character development and description.

5. If you feel that others are slowing the RP down or are creating problems for it, please feel free to contact the Game Master (Saiba Aisu). However, keep in mind that I will have the final say regarding any such matters.

6. You cannot create more than one character at a time. Only Game Masters have this ability, unless specified otherwise.

7. Characters may of course share race and allegiance, but try and differentiate between them somehow.

8. Although The Legend of Zelda franchise is full of magic, be sure to not abuse the concept and place its importance before that of a well-developed character. Characters will be able to obtain certain magic spells later on, but for the moment, try to avoid them.

9. The RP will also feature an item system in which each character will be able to upgrade his or her fighting style as the plot progresses. Items will be manifested in a variety of ways, ranging between casual rupees found in chests to rare, powerful tools obtainable only after completing certain challenges.

10. You may apply a maximum of three times in a row. For whatever reason, if your character is rejected each of those three times, you will be obliged to wait one business week (five days) before being able to appy again. Any applications posted or PMed during this five-day period will be politely disregarded.

11. All additional RP rules apply and will be enforced.
USER NAME: [Your user name. Self-explanatory]

NAME: [Any name, as long as it's not something ridiculous. You must state your character's name even if it isn't known - you must include that as well. In that case, you should also state an alias by which your character should be called]

RACE: [Your character's race, please select from one of the above-listed choices. No half-breeds, please, except among the humanoid races of the Hylians, Gerudo, and Sheikah. If you feel I have missed a significant race and can justify its inclusion, I will add it to the list.]

AGE: [Despite the dire and unstable political circumstances, characters under the age of 15 won't be of much help to anyone. However, there is no upper limit to the age a character can be useful. Keep in mind, though, that your physical capacity and appearance should correspond with your age. Generally, age should be between 15-60 years old]

GENDER: [Male or Female]

APPEARANCE:

- HEIGHT: [Nothing too extravagant, please.]

- WEIGHT: [see above]

- FIGURE: [For reference, pick one of the following: Atrophic, Petite, Slender, Regular, Athletic, Muscular, Overweight, Obese]

- HAIR COLOR: [it has to be a plausible color, unless it's dyed, or somehow related to your race; i.e., some Kokiri have green hair. If your character does not have hair, fill in this section as N/A]

- HAIR STYLE: [Can generally be whatever]

- EYE COLOR: [see hair color. No contact lenses, as they have not been invented]

- COMPLEXION: [Your skin tone. Within limitations.]

- CLOTHING: [Once more, self-explanatory. Think of the time the RP takes place before you decide on something extravagant. Additional research into the clothing of your race may be a good idea, since races like the Gorons and Zora don't usually wear clothing, although it is possible to differentiate between genders due to breasts]

ALLIANCE: [The Alliance to which your character belongs to. Generally, these are classified into one opposed to Ganon and a neutral one that is solely self-interested]

POWERS / ABILITIES: [The abilities that your character possesses. They must conform to the limitations set by the Game Masters, especially if they are magic-related. Other abilities, like the incredible strength of the Gorons or the Zoras' ability to detach their arm fins and throw them, are acceptable. Please avoid stereotypical abilities that manipulate elements, unless they are exceptionally well-expanded and balanced. They must be sufficiently detailed - at least 100 words is a bare minimum, more is strongly advised. They should very clearly define what your character can and can't do]

STANDARD EQUIPMENT: [What weaponry, if any, your character carries. Try and keep in mind that the RP takes place in Hyrule, which is distinctly medieval-themed, so keep it realistic. Should be restricted to classic armor and weapons. This is generally for those without supernatural powers]

MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION: [Although it's not required, it is highly recommended that you provide your character with some form of reliable transportation, since there will be a lot of traveling done from region to region as the RP develops. While I encourage you to be creative, try to keep the steeds/means of transportation within reasonable boundaries. Some excellent examples would be a giant water insect steed, called a Tektite, for a Zora, or perhaps even a tamed Dodongo lizard for a Goron]

PERSONALITY: [A few words about how your character acts, thinks, what his mentality is etc. It does not have to be aligned to the rest of your alliance's line of thinking, but he or she must at least have have a solid reason for their decisions. A few sentences are required as a minimum, but you can expand as much as you wish]

BIOGRAPHY: [include the character's biography - who he originally was, where he lived, how he survived, how/why he discovered his powers or fighting abilities, etc. It's not necessary, but again, further research into your selected race's lifestyle may be necessary]

USER NAME: Marsuvees Black

NAME: Billos

AGE: 27

GENDER: Male

APPEARANCE:

- HEIGHT: 5'6

- WEIGHT: 140 lb.

- FIGURE: Muscular, but small in his clothes, so that you cannot tell.

- HAIR COLOR: Black

- HAIR STYLE: Shaggy, but not long

- EYE COLOR: Blue

- COMPLEXION: Very Fair

- CLOTHING: Black clothes, and white pants, with chainmail underneath. He also wears gray gauntlets.

ALLIANCE: Ganon

POWERS / ABILITIES:

He is truly a basic Hylian, save his tome and spell. He has no powers except those given to him by the items.

His tome can summon weaker beasts and beings, but not "Boss" level monsters. One large monster, or many weak ones. He can also alter minor details in an area, like making a rock fall, or have a tree fall. Only usable if written in with blood.

Farore's wind is a means of transport, only used to further the plot. While it is the same spell as renowned in the games, he does not use it that often, as it places a strain on him when he uses it.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT: Carries a large oblong shield, and a sword at all times. Also, he keeps his Tome and Farore's wind.

MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION:

Stolen Farore's Wind (Does NOT Know where others are at any given time, and can only do long warps, and only for the plot then.)

A Horse named Cheval.

PERSONALITY: Secretive. Not very talkative either. Would as soon kill you as talk to you, for the most part. HE feels the weak must die, and idiots must die as well. A cynical person with an outlook that seems to be non-existant, as vey little emotino, save passion and bloodlust, are shown.

BIOGRAPHY: A Hylian who betrayed the other Hylians for power. He grew up in castle town, in the castle, his mother a Servant, his father a knight and a Drunkard. He basically faded the day he left and became a rogue. He was always very quiet, as he was raised to be solemn and stoic. Supposedly, his childhood was a bad one, being beaten daily, and darkening from there, while becoming a knight of some esteem. The day he defected, he stole a sacred tome and the spell, Farore's Wind, granting him power and travel. There was a seal on the tome, so it is at less than a tenth of it's power. He also slaughtered any Hylian, Human, Zora, or whatever in his way.

I will edit any and everything you want me to.... Tomorrow.

Okay, Marsu—er, Black-san. The application looks good, and it served to help me realize that I forgot to include a section in the format code for the character's race. Back on the subject of the application, I would have liked it if you had expanded a little on his personality and perhaps added some geographical details of his backstory, but his power certainly seems interesting. I like the manner in which you balanced out the power of his book, saying that it's at 1/10th power and only works when written in with blood—the same goes for the conditions surrounding Farore's Wind and his summoning powers.

I can tell from early on that Billos is certainly going to be an interesting character, no doubt about it. Accepted.

USER NAME: encapturer

NAME: Deralen

AGE: 17

GENDER: Male

APPEARANCE:

- HEIGHT: 6'0"

- WEIGHT: 320 lbs

- FIGURE: Obviously looks large and stocky to humans, but is rather athletic looking to the goron eye. If you directly compare the body sizes, Deralen looks slimmer. Somehow, he seems more muscular, even with that considered.

- HAIR COLOR: N/a

- HAIR STYLE: N/a

- EYE COLOR: Black

- COMPLEXION: Very much brown.

- CLOTHING: None, except for a red armband on his right arm.

ALLIANCE: Against Ganon.

POWERS / ABILITIES: Besides his strength, he is one of the fastest gorons when rolling. He can easily keep up with a horse on smooth terrain.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT: A pair of relatively large metal bracers he wears, covering his arms up to his elbows. A spring loaded mechanism causes a sharp blade to swing up and out when he presses a trigger, and when he is *not* rolling, thanks to the pressure his body puts on the weapons. The whole thing was well-constructed, allowing it to survive most blows the Goron deals out. It was designed such that even someone of average technical aptitude like Deralen can repair, but if it does get too out of shape, the weapons can still be used as... bracers. It is an experimental weapon awarded to him for his many contributions to the sport. He also carries 5 bombs in a bomb bag, though strangely for a goron he doesn't like things that spontaneously explode. It makes him nervous.
30v125c.jpg

He presses a few buttons together at the blue area, and if nothing is keeping the red blade down, it flings out in the direction of the ..err... peach arrow, where it locks in place. When the blades are extended, a certain button combination causes the blades to fall off, for repair, replacement, or to stop himself from being stabbed in the eye. Any good smith can forge new blades to attach to the weapon, given he has a general idea how it works.

With the blades out he fights by... punching, usually. A few slashing actions, but as a goron, his immense direct strength is his main advantage in battle, and the blades increase that advantage. He has to manually reset the blades after battles.

MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION: He curls himself in a tire-shape and rolls himself along the ground. He controls himself well in this form and can keep this up for a good distance before getting tired.

PERSONALITY: Deralen is confident about everything he does. During competitions, while he doesn't often engage in trash talk, he is sure to flaunt his victories if he does win. He can be simple, but he is dedicated to whatever he does, plowing directly through to his goal. However, if nothing interesting happens, he gets bored easily.

BIOGRAPHY: Deralen is one of the top Goron Racers on Death Mountain. This race was created to give the younger gorons something to channel their energy into. Deralen continually smashed records, and took the races more seriously than most before him. While his enthusiasm has revitalized the sport, and caused newcomers to step up as well, he has been recently losing focus himself. He wasn't losing interest, rather, something felt *off* out in the rest of the world. Knowing he can't focus with this feeling nagging him, he set off to the world outside of Death Mountain. Since Deralen was a hero of sorts, the current leader of the Gorons gave him his blessing, as well as giving him his bracers and a bomb bag for his travels. While he thought this was just going to be a trip to cool his head, it will turn out to be much more, as he finds himself unable to ignore something that threatens his home and livelyhood.
USER NAME: Blazinghydra

NAME: Sariri

AGE: 20

GENDER: Female

APPEARANCE:

- HEIGHT: 5'0

- WEIGHT: 71 lbs (Rito, being a species evolving towards full Avian shape, are uncommonly light due to their unusual bone structure.)

- FIGURE: Petite

- HAIR COLOR: Raven Black

- HAIR STYLE: Long and unbound, running down to her ankles. For whatever reason, hair splits into a reverse Y-shape around her waist, and is inordinately obedient and well-groomed, despite one would think a flying creature's hair would end up as. Hair gives the impression of crow or raven features, especially with her similarly colored wings.

- EYE COLOR: Red, as with most Rito.

- COMPLEXION: Rather pale with a slightly browning tan, as a result of flying in exposed sunlight.

- CLOTHING: Sariri wears the traditional Rito traveling clothes, namely a thigh-length purple velvet coat with red linings, though unlike others, she wears it unbuttoned. Beneath the coat, she wears loose a whiteish/tan colored waistcoat (though lacking a traditional undershirt or garment beneath such) with similar, somewhat poofy, naval breeches that are loose enough to allow her full usage of her legs. Around her neck, she wears a somewhat weather-beaten white silk scarf around her neck, tucked partially beneath her other clothing in order to anchor it more firmly to her person.

ALLIANCE: Sariri is, above all, loyal to herself and not one particular cause. She wanders about more for the excitement or adventure than any particular purpose, and will avoid the path of confrontation whenever physically possible. She feels loyalty to her fellow Rito and the Rito Post Service on a whole, and will help them when in need, though she won't always follow every decision the other Rito decide to do. She rather dislikes the idea of Ganon and the oppression he represents, though she fails to care enough to actually do anything against it, rather deciding to simply avoid it unless it becomes a personal matter to her.

POWERS / ABILITIES: Like all Rito of age, Sariri has a pair of Wings granted to her by the patron Dragon God of the Rito. Her wings, while rather notable in that they are a glossy black color not unlike the wings of a blackbird or raven, serve the same basic purpose as all wings of the Rito; To carry themselves into the sky. Though her wings and her body is fully developed to stay accustomed to the wings, the simple truth is that Rito bodies aren't ideal for flying, and thus, the average adult Rito may only fly in wide-open spaces for a couple hours at the very most. Like many Rito, Sariri took a job with the postal system, whose' rigorous regiment increased her flight endurance past the average of her species, allowing her to fly consecutively in calm weather for a little under three hours before needing to take a particularly long break.

Even for a Rito, Sariri is particularly agile in both the air and on ground, easily able to outmaneuver creatures much larger, and often much faster than herself. She is an amazing technical flyer and fighter, easily able to cope in difficult situations, and often doesn't bother going around items if above is a quicker option. This makes Sariri particularly frustrating to fight, as her combination of flight, slight shape, and agility makes her nigh impossible to hit. Her claws, though not nearly as prominent as on birds of prey, exist and unlike most Rito, aren't bound by specially made shoes. These claws are used far more often than her hands for fighting, and can be used in combination with her natural agility in order to rip large chunks of flesh from her opponents before they even realize that the tiny bird girl they are attempting to fight can retaliate.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT: Sariri, like any responsible Rito, carries any items she might find necessary in a mail satchel kept on her side, with the exception of her weapon; A small Rapier, a stabbing-sword made for agile fighters and thin enough to be carried by such a light creature, is kept without a scabbard tucked into her belt, facing away from her so that the tip does not cut her accidentally. In her Satchel are all items used for servicing it, including a minature whetstone to sharpen it and a polish rag. Like any Rito Traveller worth her salt, she also carries a Grappling hook- a long length of rope with a metal hook on the end, that can be used if in any case, their wings become injured or unsuable. The Grappling hook has many functions, and can even be used in battle by one experienced enough in its use.

MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION: Though Sariri generally uses her own wings in order to fly, in cases where it is either not an option, she is injured, or she is too tired, she carries a wooden whistle-type object used by Rito to tame Kargaroc. After being blown, any Kargaroc in the area who recognize the cry (all but the youngest of them), would immediately fly towards and circle her. After being fed a dried fruit from her satchel, the Kargaroc would then consent to allow her to ride it towards her next destination.

While Kargaroc are traditionally associated with Ganondorf and Lesser Creatures such as Moblins, no Kargaroc would deny a Rito in distress, whereas they would kill and eat any other creature in a similar situation. Though nobody knows for sure, some believe that the Kargaroc have either a pact or respect for the Dragon God Valoo, and will aid fellow servants of the Master of the Sky.

PERSONALITY: A thrill-seeker at heart, Sariri is an adventurer and explorer, not content with sitting around or waiting for things to come to her. Her is incredibly upbeat and optimistic, though not particularly loyal or dependable, prone to quitting things that are too hard and moving onto new with little regard for other people's thoughts or feelings. She is rather easy to get along with, dislikes seeing other people sad or hurt, but will hardly trouble herself over it, preferring to simply look forward rather than back. She carries an interesting mix of courage and cowardice, shying away from things she feels are too difficult or dangerous for her, but running towards the unknown. Sure, definite things are unappealing to her, and are either boring or terrifying, as she prefers to deal in foggy ideas, facts or lack of planning.

BIOGRAPHY: Having grown up with the other Rito, Sariri was well-known for attempting to fly when she was still a chick, not having completely comprehended the necessity of wings for such an endeavor.

Though she survived her fall, her act of simultaneous stupid naivete, courage and faith endeared her to many on that day, allowing her to easily exercise her charm over near everyone in her old home. Twisting circumstance all too subtly around her finger, she arranged for herself to be made apprentice to one of the Rito Mailmen, and for once saw the rest that was Hyrule. Though she disliked staying in the boring mailroom most of the time and sorting the letters, she got through it on the determination that she would some day visit all the places that the letters detailed. Every different area scrawled on the letter was a new destination for her to burn into her memory, every stamp a new dream.

She planned to leave the day she obtained her wings from Valoo, and indeed attempted so immediately after retrieving such a scale... revealing that new wings don't work particularly well, and taking a tumble that well-mirrored her original one.

Though this one wasn't considered nearly as cute and much more stupid than her original fall, she recovered well, though to her dismay, she dislodged bones in her new wings that prevented her from using them for several months. In order to cheer her up, an older Rito took the time to show her the ancient arts of swordplay. Taught by a fellow Rito, with low body mass yet powerful muscles, the Rito fighting style was based more on stabbing than slashing, and more on dodging rather than defending. Fights were lightning fast and key moves were made in seconds, as she eventually absorbed the information.

Once her wings healed, she decided to stay around for a little longer... as a full-fledged Mailman, bringing letters to the four corners of Hyrule and constructing a mental map. When she finally had the idea of what her travels would include, she departed by severing all the ties she had; she wuit her job, and she snatched a Rapier from her master with an apology letter. Though as a whole, the Rito disapprove of her decisions, most of them can't fault her. All of them, at some point in another, felt like a bird in a cage too.

Question- Where the heck do the Rito live? I mean, at this point, Dragonroost is busy being Death Mountain and housing Goron. Come to think of it, where does Valoo live? On Death Mountain, or with the Rito?

APPEARANCE:
- COMPLEXION: Well he's a Zora. A blue with a sort of green tint. The pic should explain all really.

- CLOTHING: N/A

ALLIANCE: Opposed to Ganon

POWERS / ABILITIES: Lorenz has a wrist band on his right arm that holds a large sapphire. This was blessed by a Zora sage and passed down through Lorenz's family line. The jewel allows for the manipulation of water strictly in it's liquid and gas forms; and all it can do with water vapor is condense it into water to use. The user need only will the waters to move and they will, of course this power does wear down on the user after a good amount of time; more than an hour would be too stressful to maintain. Most notable of the powers are the abilities to form a spear and shield, with which Lorenz attacks and defends respectively. For whatever reason Lorenz can't make the water take any other shape. These two hold their shape even though they are made of water. Breaking them is not easy task, of course it's possible. Should they break the jewel's powers are disrupted momentarily. Once broken the respective object would not be able to reform for a fifteen minute period. The jewel can also add a healing property to the water it moves; it can only give this property to about 2 kilograms of water before the effect is diluted to a point where it becomes useless. When these waters are held over minor injuries it greatly speeds up the healing process. Of course, it can't do much for broken limbs and severe gashes. It's mostly meant for cuts and stopping bleeding. Small cuts and bruises take about 10 minutes to heal fully. Larger cuts and such might take a few hours. As such this ability cannot be used in the midst of battle. It's strictly for afterwards. The healing can only be used for 3 hours a day, any more and the jewel becomes unresponsive.

As for himself, Lorenz performed well in the military so he does possess a good amount of strength and endurance. He's been trained on how to precisely target objects with fin projectiles. Though Lorenz dislikes this ability, something feels unnatural to him about removing his fins. Of course his fighting is best in the water but he shouldn't be underestimated on land. Lorenz has above average eye-sight for a Zora but it's by no means hawk-like. It's simply clear in all distances and he has very few issues adjusting to different distances.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT: Nothing notable aside from the sapphire that has already been described above.

MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION: There's walking if required. Swimming is definitely his preference. He owns a horse but hardly ever uses it. It's too awkward for him. If he really had to he might also be able to enlist the aid of a large sea creature. Of course, not all creatures are exactly friendly with Zoras.

PERSONALITY: Lorenz goes against the grain in the case of usual Zora personality. Instead of being quiet and reserved Lorenz is passionate and outspoken. He has a strong sense of what he believes is right and wrong and has no issues speaking it. Though there are some things about him that are very typical among Zoras. He definitely is not the fastest when it comes to opening up to people. It's mainly due to the way he was raised. The Zora stressed a respect for others so beginning conversations with someone is quite difficult for Lorenz. Once he does make a friend however he is very loyal and protective. He wouldn't back down from a fight if it meant someone he cared about would be hurt. Due to a curious nature, and the fact that he bores easily, he's always looking for something exciting to do.
BIOGRAPHY: ] Lorenz was born to an influential Zora family. His family had long had one of the advisors to the Zora king/queen as a member. Lorenz's father was one of the advisors.; in fact, he is the primary councilor to the King of Zoras. Lorenz, being the oldest son, was to take over his father's position however he saw no interest in that; politics had no appeal to him. He was restless and it seemed the life of a normal Zora wasn't meant for him. Instead of following his father's wishes he decided he would join the military. He showed exceptional talent yet he rose in position faster than anyone should've been able to. He suspected it was his father's doing but he didn't know how to go about stopping it. Though he always knew that should too high a position be offered that he would have to turn it down.

When Lorenz turned 17 it was reported that there were various signs of a great evil approaching. No one was exactly sure. Some legends claimed it was Ganon while others felt it was merely a natural disaster. Many things were thrown into disorder, at least in Zora's Domain. Many complicated events transpired. Someone approached the king claiming that the Hylians were planning to eliminate the Zoras while they fretted over the changes in the land and attempted to maintain the fountain. The Zora people as a whole became set on supporting a war effort against the Hylian people. Lorenz was one of few who hated the idea of going to fight the Hylians and let people know it. The people alienated him for this as he was opposing the seemingly wise decision of the King; not to mention he already had a very odd, exotic look for a Zora. He left the military at age 18 when he was about to be promoted to general, no doubt due to his father. Though he never found out, his father convinced the king later that war should not even be considered.

Lorenz then left Zora's domain as he wanted nothing to do with the people he considered so foolish. He could only hope that the Zoran people would decide against the war but he never went back to check. He made his way to Hyrule Castle where he quickly informed the King of Hyrule know that the Zoras were considering war. The king thanked him for the information not that the royals seemed particularly concerned. Lorenz was puzzled at the lack of action on the Hylians' part. He decided to stay in Hyrule Castle Town.

For the next two years Lorenz lived in Hyrule castle town where he opened a small shop selling high quality weapons he made, a skill he picked up with relative ease while in the Zoran military. The whole time he kept up with his training though he wasn't ever sure why; just a feeling he had. The townspeople, though it was very odd to see a Zora as Lorenz was the only one in the town, came to like Lorenz and enjoyed the artistic beauty of his work. Most people in the town know who he is.

A small dagger that was given to him by his wife. cleverly concealed inside a gauntlet

The Noble Sword that was passed down through his family line. It can kill even shadow creatures that ordinary blades cannot harm. worn at his back

MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION: Raiza, one of the fastest steeds in all Hyrule. A trouble maker and rabble rouser in his youth, he settled down considerably during his time training with Raven.

PERSONALITY: Raven is a kind and gentle person who would rather spend his days living in peace with his friends and family. However, the ensuing political chaos has left him wondering if there is any hope for his people. Kings and Queens fight for themselves and completely forget whom they are to serve, leaving Raven in the midst of despair, wondering if it would be better to abandon his own knighthood and pursue the course he feels to be right. His one remaining strength in the world is his wife Mira whom he had met during earlier years, a strong and steady person who herself was also a warrior.

BIOGRAPHY: Raven had a rather wild childhood and liked to play pranks on people. While harmless, these pranks did nothing to endear him to others and caused him to be a bit of an outcast. When he was 15 he set out on his own and became a knight shortly after his eighteenth birthday after having started training just before his sixteenth birthday. This caused a large amount of dismay among many of the other knights, particularly those who knew of his mischievous youth. However, the training helped to mellow out Ravens personality, and he quickly made friends with some of the other knights, although there are still those who distrust him to this day. On his twentieth birthday he was granted permission to have as much time to himself as he needed, as he had been feeling troubled for the past several months, although he could never figure out why. During his travels, he entered into the lost woods from the Hylian field and became lost. As a result, he ended up in the part of the Kokiri forest where the Deku tree resides. Struck with and illness that was brought on by a monster that had invaded deep inside, He implored Raven to help him. Raven unhesitatingly plunged straight inside the Deku tree and defeated the monster that had invaded just in time. The Deku trees life having been spared, he gave Raven the Seeds of Mystery and said that he could return at any time if he ever needed a refill, or just needed some guidance. Afterward, Raven explored Death Mountain and briefly explored the Goron city, although he did not stop to talk to anyone there. He then left to explore the icy northwest regions of Hyrule and inadvertently discovered the place where the Dark Tribe of Hylians was located when exploring Peak Province. This resulted in his immediately being captured by warriors of the Dark Hylian Tribe and put into holding. While there were many among the members of the Dark Tribe that didn't believe him when he said that he was lost, the head of the Dark Tribe talked with him and eventually came to the conclusion that he was telling the truth. Shortly after being released, he bumped into Mira (literally) which got her quite upset and caused her to storm off. When Raven met her later, he apologized for not looking where he was going and, after being forgiven, talked with Mira for a while. They spent several weeks together and their affection for each other grew until they fell in love. Raven asked Mira to go with him back to where he lived in Hyrule Town and only learned after being present while she was talking to her father that she was a royal princess of the Dark Tribe, and that the Dark Tribe held a deep mistrust of the rest of the Hylians which explained to him why he had been treated so roughly upon his arrival. Mira's father attempted to Forbid her leaving with Raven, but she responded in saying that she was no longer a child. Her mother and father both pleaded for her to stay, but she refused every time and left with Raven the next morning after he made sure that she was really all right with it. When they returned to Hyrule Town Mira and Raven got married and Mira moved into Ravens house where she spends her days training when she isn't doing her share of the house chores. Raven resumed his duties as a knight and spent all of his free time at home, preferring the company of his wife as opposed to that of any other person. With the current political tension, Raven continues to feel increasingly uneasy and is only able to feel at peace when he is at home with his wife, who he now spends more time with then anyone else. While he is at work his wife Mira trains, and when he gets home they work together in taking care of the housework before eating dinner and enjoying a quiet night together, at least when he is not away on a mission.

Okay, I'm going to do my best to address everyone's characters in the following posts, so bear with me!

USER NAME: encapturer

NAME: Deralen

AGE: 17

GENDER: Male

APPEARANCE:

- HEIGHT: 6'0"

- WEIGHT: 320 lbs

- FIGURE: Obviously looks obese to humans' date=' but is rather athletic looking to the goron eye. If you directly compare the body sizes, Deralen looks slimmer.

- [b']HAIR COLOR: N/a

- HAIR STYLE: N/a

- EYE COLOR: Black

- COMPLEXION: Very much brown.

- CLOTHING: None, except for a red armband on his right arm.

ALLIANCE: Against Ganon.

POWERS / ABILITIES: Besides his strength, he is one of the fastest gorons when rolling. He can easily keep up with a horse on smooth terrain.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT: None.

MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION: He curls himself in a tire-shape and rolls himself along the ground. He controls himself well in this form and can keep this up for a good long distance before getting tired.

While he thought this was just going to be a trip to cool his head, it will turn out to be much more...

Okay, encapturer, your character generally looks very good, although I would perhaps edit his body type, since Gorons don't necessarily appear "obese" to humans—rather, they are very stocky and muscular for their size. His backstory seems a little bland, if only because he lacks any significant importance/role within his race, apart from a Racer of sorts—this is fine, though, since my opinion of the Goron monarchy is one that is very closely associated with its subjects, as opposed to the more formal and distant Zora and Hylian ones.

His method of transportation is, of course, very cool, although you'll have to keep in mind that he'll only be able to use it on extraordinarily smooth or sloping terrain. The largest thing that concerns me is is Deralen's apparent lack of any weapons, save his bare hands and strength. Since Gorons are extraordinary craftsmen, I would suggest giving him a weapon or shield or some sort, even if it's one designed for smashing.

And of course, you're accepted.

USER NAME: Blazinghydra

NAME: Sariri

AGE: 20

GENDER: Female

APPEARANCE:

- HEIGHT: 5'0

- WEIGHT: 71 lbs (Rito' date=' being a species evolving towards full Avian shape, are uncommonly light due to their unusual bone structure.)

[/i']

In her Satchel are all items used for servicing it, including a miniature whetstone to sharpen it and a polish rag. Like any Rito Traveler worth her salt, she also carries a Grappling hook- a long length of rope with a metal hook on the end, that can be used if in any case, their wings become injured or unusable.

When she finally had the idea of what her travels would include, she departed by severing all the ties she had; she quit her job, and she snatched a Rapier from her master with an apology letter. Though as a whole, the Rito disapprove of her decisions, most of them can't fault her. All of them, at some point in another, felt like a bird in a cage too.

Alright, Blazing, everything certainly seems to be in order with your character—I really was hoping someone would take advantage of the inclusion of the Rito race, and I'm glad you did, especially in creating such an excellent and well-developed character. Sariri's character and battle style are breaths of fresh air among the other characters; I am especially fond of the Grappling Hook. It's also notable that she's allied strictly with herself—however, I did want to ask if her loyalty extended to obedience to the Rito Chieftain?

And other another note, I'm glad you caught the parallels between Death Mountain and Dragonroost Island. Like I mentioned fleetingly in the original post, this is an alternate timeline of the Zelda universe, meaning that multiple races exist at the same time—otherwise, the Rito would still be Zora; in this RP, they're treated as distant cousins who once had a common ancestor. Of course, Valoo is still around—however, he dwells atop the high and unexplored mountains bordering the eastern sea of Hyrule. Although this area will be explored in greater detail later, its architectural style is similar to that encountered in Wind Waker—some notable areas include a mountaintop shrine dedicated to the wind spirits; this is where Valoo dwells. The reason most of these mountains are unexplored is the fact that they are so incredibly tall, being much larger than Death Mountain. The mountain upon which Valoo dwells is known as "Dragonroost", for simplicity's sake.

Accepted, of course.

[b']STANDARD EQUIPMENT: Nothing notable aside from the sapphire that has already been described above.

Alright, Andx. Lorenz's backstory certainly seems interesting—in fact, I'm quite pleased by the fact that you've expanded into the relatively unexplored territory of the Zora's Military forces, and I'm even more pleased at the fact that Lorenz is connected closely to figures of power and influence while also maintaining his distance; apart from working well with his character, it makes the plot easier and adds variety to the RP. Unfortunately, however, I'm going to have to ask you to rework his weaponry a little. Although the idea of a water-manipulating jewel is quite good, you need to define its parameters and reduce its usefulness.

For starters, the jewel's ability to manipulate water in all of its forms is quite powerful—within the parameters you've provided, Lorenz could quite easily freeze opponents, change the direction of currents, swamp the field, etc. Although I'm glad you've provided a restriction in the form that it exhausts the user over time, I feel it's too powerful a tool that could easily be used to change environments. I would suggest that you limit the gem's water-manipulating abilities strictly towards weapons, although you can let them vary as needed. Although this limits Lorenz to close combat respectively, it's still quite useful, since you can't exactly destroy water, meaning that he'll be able to reform his weapons as needed and use an unpredictable battle style. While I do not object to any water manipulated by the gem possessing limited healing qualities, you must be sure not to abuse this concept and use it sparingly. Similarly, you should remove the jewel's ability to produce bursts of water.

Once you have made the above changes, I will happily accept Lorenz.

USER NAME: Chaos Zero

NAME: Raven

AGE: 25

GENDER: Male

- HEIGHT: 6 ft.

- WEIGHT: 180 lbs.

- FIGURE: Athletic

- HAIR COLOR: Blond

- HAIR STYLE: i'll just show this in the pic that i post.

- EYE COLOR: Blue

- COMPLEXION: Caucasian

- CLOTHING: Again' date=' this shall be shown in the pic.

[b']ALLIANCE: who're you talking to again? directly opposed to Ganon of course! xD

POWERS / ABILITIES:

Seed Satchel: Allows Raven to carry a seemingly unlimited number of mystery seeds. However, the seeds themselves must occasionally be replenished by traveling to the kokiri forest and speaking with the Deku Trees counterpart, the Maku Tree. (read the skullkid extra chapter in the manga for more info) It was given to him by an old hag when he helped with an extremely important errand shortly before becoming a knight.

Seeds of Mystery: They have many effects. i'll try to list them all here. effects that are different but belong in a specific grouping will be only single spaced whereas different groupings will be double spaced.]

They can distract monsters by releasing a strong smell. This is particularly useful when fighting against a large number of enemies.

They set things aflame. When used from the hand or Seed Shooter they simply burn whatever their target is.

When used from inside the mouth, exhaling a deep breath allows a stream of magical fire to be aimed at enemies and is highly effective against huge numbers.

When crushed underfoot, they can unleash a wave a powerfully destructive energy that can kill weak to mid powered enemies in one blow, although it takes significantly more for more powerful enemies.

They can freeze things with an effect that is just like the Ice Rod. In addition to this, they have the same effects as their fire ability counterpart, except instead of burning things, they freeze them. Any enemies up to mid powered ones are frozen solid, although the mid powered ones could eventually thaw out while the weak ones will stay frozen.

They can temporarily immobilize enemies When fired from the seed shooter. However, when used from the hand they can temporarily give him a major speed boost, giving the same effect as a person using the Pegasus shoes.

They can allow information to be gathered from stone owls or gossip stones.

When used from the hand, they can take him to fixed locations on the map when activated from the hand, such as Zoras Domain or Hyrule Town.

When fired from the Seed Shooter, they can send enemies flying into the air, usually allowing a sizeable amount of damage to be dealt from the resulting impact.

When thrown to the ground with enough force, they can cause a small cyclone to occur, which is excellent for slowing a sudden descent or fall so that serious injury and death can be avoided.

When used from the hand or mouth, they can cause many small beads of energy to be shot, although it is harder to control using the hand. When used from the mouth, this effect, like with the ice and fire effects, can only last for as long as Raven is exhaling.

When fired from the Seed Shooter, they explode on impact and have the same effect as before, except that they fire in all directions. this is highly disadvised unless there is a well shielded are to hide behind.

Seed Shooter: A gun-shaped toy that was modified to shoot seeds instead. This increases the speed and accuracy of the seeds being fired, making it more highly favored then the slingshot that he used before.

Boomerang: It can home into and temporarily stun one, or a succession of enemy(s) before returning to him, even if he moves.

Bow and Arrow: A specially modified bow that can use Hylian magic to make and fire arrows and increases the speed and power of arrows being fired from it, making it highly useful.

Cloak: Raven always wears this, and is never seen without it. He can use it to hide his presence as long as he is not moving.

Armadillo Cloak: Usually kept under his normal cloak, it had been a gift to him from the Maku tree when he had helped to defeat a band of monsters in the lost woods, one of which invaded the Maku tree and almost killed him. As his way of thanks, the Maku tree offered the Seeds of Mystery of which have many various powers, and a cloak of flexible, but very sturdy leaves that can change shape so that when Raven curls up, it encircles him, although it leaves his sides uncovered. This allows him to not only use the same means of transportation as a Goron, but to gain an added edge in battle when need. The leaves that the cloak is composed of are stronger then steel due to their magical nature, Raven can also use the cloak as an impromptu shield when needed.

Ocarina: It's a normal Ocarina, but Raven uses Hylian magic to give it added effects. currently it is primarily used for summoning Raiza to him in an instant, although he can use it for other things as well.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT: The sword he has used since becoming a knight.

A slightly smaller sword that he has had for several years.

A small dagger that has magical properties and was given to him by his wife.

The Noble Sword that was passed down through his family line. It has the ability of firing a beam from its tip when swung.

However, the ensuing political chaos has lleft him wondering if there is any hope for his people. Kings and Queens fight for themselves and completely forget whom they are to serve, leaving Raven in the midst of despair, wondering if it would be better to abandon his own knighthood and pursue the course he feels to be right. His one remaining strength in the world is his wife whom he had met during earlier years, a strong and steady person who herself was also a warrior.

BIOGRAPHY: Raven is a descendant of the Hylian knight of the same name who had helped to free the oracle of ages Nayru from the grasp of the Mistress of shadow and darkness Veran, and also fought against the monstrous form of a creature that resulted in Twin-Rovas failed attempt to revive Ganon when Veran fell. Raven has known of these events all his life, as it is one of his favorite stories. Raven often stays at home with his wife whenever he has any free time, preferring her company to that of any other person. With the current political tension, their home seems to have become the only place where he can feel truly at peace, making him wonder if things will get any better. Night after night, he has the same dream, the dream of 2 maidens riding away from Hyrule town with the town itself in flames, the Evil King of Darkness Ganon chasing after them, and a young boy who bravely confronts Ganon even though he was not yet strong enough.

it took me a long time, but i was finally able to finish this application. hopefully it is found to be agreeable.

edit: holy crap andx, you had Lorenz follow you here as well?! xD anyway, i have 2 people to fetch. they should be here by tomorrow, i hope.

Alright, Chaos. I'll start addressing Raven chronologically. For starters, I feel you are being a tad lazy in making Raven look exactly similar to Link. As far as I am aware, that sort of garb is generally not favored by Hyrule's knights. As to the manner in which he restocks his seeds, I’m going to remind you that this is a parallel universe in the Zelda world, meaning that other areas like Labrynna are inapplicable. I don’t mind you having Raven have to enter the Kokiri Woods in order to restock with the Deku Tree, but that’s the only manner I can see that it would work.

Now, moving on to his powers. Chaos, I asked you over PM to do your best to specify and reduce the countless abilities you can derive from seeds. It appears that you completely disregarded this and proceeded to provide Raven with these overly magical seeds. Out of the abilities you provided, the only ones I would accept are the abilities to freeze, set flame to, and stun certain targets upon contact, only because they have all been featured before in the Zelda universe. Of course, you will have to remove the other powers if he is to be accepted—after all, the ability to create shockwaves, launch sheets of fire, form cyclones, boost speed, and even teleport is heavily overpowered.

As to his own weaponry, he’s similarly equipped to Link once again, and he’s simply carrying too much. I would limit his additional equipment to a sword, shield, ocarina, the seed shooter, and the seed satchel—and those weapons had better not possess any special upgrades, except for the ability to summon Raiza. The powers to turn oneself invisible, roll like a Goron, and even block attacks by wearing a simple cloak are obviously overpowered.

If you make the above changes and work a little harder on differentiating Raven from Link, I will be happy to accept him.

Jesus, that took a while. I hope I managed to cover everything in my response—however, if you still have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via PM regarding them, where we can discuss them in detail. In the meantime, I will add a list of the accepted characters.
if it really bothers you about the whole bullet seed thing, then i suppose i can get rid of that if i must. as to the fire and ice parts of the seed, this is easier incorporating bombos and ether into them that way as opposed to carrying around the heavy medallions. i do agree that those parts are overpowered though, and so will instead say that multiple seeds would be needed for those effects if they were to be used.

the ice seed effect is in place of the ice rod, which is why i made an ice seed effect in the first place.

the additions to the whirlwind aspect should have it be obvious as to how it fits. also, the whole 'teleportation' aspect is not teleportation. what it does is creates a strong enough gust of wind that can carry you to specific locations. this has been featured in the game as well, although i highly doubt that this would be used frequently, as it would detract to much from the storyline. i'll do the same thing that i would do with the ether and bombos parts of the fire and ice effects and have it be multiple seeds. also, the multiple amount of seeds (i am currently thinking something like 5) would increase depending on how many people or what have you are being transported (i am thinking 5 for each human or other sentient, 3 for animals, and 10 for gorons [because they're so friggin HUGE! xD]).

the ability to roll around like that is not all that far-fetched. if you remember, that is already possible, just not very practical unless you have the proper equipment. otherwise, you're basically restricted to one roll at a time with a time loosing pause.

there are also 3 different swords, and each one was explained. one he trained with, (and still does) one he recieved upon knighthood, and the one passed through his family line. so basically it would be one sword on each side with the third one being on his back.

i am not trying to make him look like link. it's just that when i typed in Raven oracle as the search term, this is the best pic that i could find. all of the others that actually more closely resemble him are too cartoony for my taste, although i will switch to one of those instead if you insist.

no Labrynna? okay, if you say so.

oh, and you did see that i said the whole invisible thing happens only when he is not moving right? if you are still not satisfied with that, then i can say that his cloak helps to hide him from unfriendly eyes by taking on the general appearance of the surrounding landscape when he is not moving and is down on the ground.

might i suggest taking this to pm so that your thread is not spammed? =/

Okay, Aqua Girl. Although your application seems promising, there are a few things we need to go over and some changes you'll have to make before I can consider accepting your character. As far as I am aware, there is no such thing as the 'Dark Hylian Tribe'; however, I may be mistaken. If you can link me to more detailed information regarding the Tribe, I will gladly add them to the list of significant races. From what you hinted at in the application, it certainly seems like an interesting culture - therefore, I hope you haven't cooked it up on your own!

Anyways. One of the greatest things that concerns me about your application is your disregard for spelling and (lack of) grammar. The Advanced Tag on this thread means that I expect high-quality RP post - while an error or two never hurt anyone, the amount of mistakes you made in your application is certainly not up to scratch. Another problem I have with her character is the fact that you don't clearly define the limits or costs for her ice-based magic. Until you do so, it's not a viable ability. I like the idea of a sword that freezes only inanimate objects, so that's fine, although I would imagine she also carries a scabbard?

On the other hand, the idea of 'infinite arrows' that freeze targets is not appealing to me in the slightest. One of the main restrictions that helps to balance archers is the fact that they eventually run out of ammunition or are forced to reload. With an enchanted quiver, this restriction is eliminated. The Ocarina of Blizzards sounds potentially interesting, but again, you'll need to more specific with its limitations - what is the intensity of the blizzard summoned? How does she control the blizzard? How long does the blizzard last? Does summoning the blizzard tire her out, etc.? You'll need to address these questions if you want it to be included. It'd also be nice if you described Frost Shard as more than a "horse".

Her backstory is nice enough, I suppose, although it fails to really explain her personality, so you'll need to fill that area out as well. In the meantime, until you make these changes, character not accepted.

He don’t like adults because he think they could try to hurt him, but if an adult became his friend he will not attack him or his friends. He loves every type of music, that’s why he plays the flute when he is not fighting or talking to someone, his favorite song is Saria’s Song, he learned that song with another Skull Kid. He is playful; he likes to amusement and torments the passing strangers. He likes the Ritos because sometimes he sees Ritos flying over the Lost Woods and admiring their ability to fly.

BIOGRAPHY:

He lived in the Kokiri Forest, had many friends but one day walking through town, he inadvertently entered the Lost Woods, after many days lost, it turned into a Skull Kid. He was received very well by other Skull Kids. The Skull Kids gave him a flute, and teached him magic songs. One day, he found a bow and some arrows on the forest, he began training to become a great archer. He learned to make the arrows using materials from the forest.

One day, a Kokiri entered the Lost Woods, and ele prevented the Kokiri of stay lost. A few days after the Kokiri brought a mask of wood and gave it to him, as a thank. Since then he uses the mask to remind that Kokiri and because he has no face. He was with the Skull Kids without knowing that he used to be a Kokiri. He lost all memory. So did not care to live with the Skull Kids, and did not want to know his own name.

One day, he find a Wolfo cub at the Lost Woods, it was completely alone, so Skull Kid took him to the small village within the Lost Woods where many Skull Kids live. There, all Skull Kids helped to take care of the little Wolfo. The cub was called Wolf. They trained and created Wolf. Over time it grew, until it was large enough to carry a Skull Kid in the back. Now in addition to the town mascot, Wolf is also the mean of transport if some of them have to go out of the forest.

The Skull Kids are one of the few people who may feel that Ganon's influence is increasing. They know that something is changing, monsters begin to re-appear and the forest feels the impact of the darkness. Unfortunately they do not know what is going on because they were hidden in the Lost Woods when the Hero of Time fought against Ganon. Now he tries to discover the source of darkness in order to destroy it and make the forest back to what it was before.

Okay, Leo. Your character certainly seems very interesting, so I'll do my best to do him justice. For starters, the name 'Mino' is fine, so I don't see why he has to be referred to as 'Skull Kid'. Now, as to his powers and abilities. I certainly don't mind if his song of sleep works on medium- to small-sized enemies, but make sure it doesn't go beyond making his human/boss-level opponents sleepy. The Wolfos Song seems fine, and I wouldn't mind it if his tamed Wolfos can help protect him. Just keep in mind that it won't be accessible in some places. As for the song of life, it certainly seems powerful. I would reduce its usefulness to reviving dead plants/giving new life to dying plants and to helping to speed the body's natural rate of dealing with injury. Even with these limitations, it should still be an exhausting task.

His backstory and personality seem decent enough, although I'm fairly sure that only human children turn into Skull Kids, so he shouldn't have been a Kokiri in his past life. Similarly, his equipment is fine and quite balanced, although a little on the weak side, hence why I would suggest you have the Wolfos attack enemies once summoned. His motivations to stop the darkness that is creeping upon the Lost Woods certainly seems good, as does his understandable dislike of adults until he gets to know them. On average, your character looks decent - just try and remember that you'll be starting your adventure in Hyrule Castle Town, so perhaps he could have Wolfos with him as he explores the town.

Also, while it's not too much of a major issue, try and use spellcheck to avoid some of the misspellings you made. Character accepted.
USER NAME: Saiba Aisu

NAME: Erzet ("Er" rhymes with "burr" and "zet" rhymes with "pet". Ur-zet.)

Also known among his people as the "Prince of Thieves".

RACE: Hylian [Gerudo by adoption]

AGE: 20

GENDER: Male

APPEARANCE:
avvy.png

- HEIGHT: 5"11.

- WEIGHT: 165 lbs.

- FIGURE: Slender.

- HAIR COLOR: Dark brown.

- HAIR STYLE: Straight-haired, with long, artful bangs.

- EYE COLOR: Dark green.

- COMPLEXION: Firmly tanned, but not nearly as dark as the rest of the Gerudo.

- CLOTHING: Erzet favors the traditional garb of his adoptive tribe, the Clan of Gerudo Thieves. He is most often seen wearing a short-sleeved dark green cloth shirt along with customary baggy pants, although he wears them much more tightly than others. Over these pants, he wears a pair of sturdy and lightweight brown boots. In addition, Erzet wears two gray cloth armguards, reaching to just below his elbows, and a gray scarf wrapped around his neck—emblazoned with the mark of the Gerudo in white—to protect him from the arid temperature and fierce sun of the desert.
Gerudosymbol.png

ALLIANCE: Self-interested. Erzet is allied strictly with the Gerudo, and maintains their interest in hoarding treasure and power. The rumors of Ganon's growing power to influence the world from his dimensional prison has thrown the Clan of Thieves into great chaos and disunity—many of them are uncertain whether to pledge their allegiance to him, and already they show signs of splitting into two groups. Despite this, Erzet holds no love for the famed "King of Evil"—in his opinion, Ganon grew exceedingly avaricious and hungry for power, characteristics which any good thief would manage to avoid. Apart from this, he deems it unlikely that the King of Evil would tolerate the few Gerudo males that have sprung up among the Clan of Thieves in his absence if he were ever to return.

POWERS / ABILITIES: As one of the many exercises needed in order to become a successful Gerudo Thief, Erzet underwent severe training for many years in order to maximize his acrobatic ability. Displaying remarkable aptitude in this respect, Erzet is easily capable of any number of flips, cartwheels, and back-hand springs, as well as possessing an excellent sense of balance. His considerable acrobatic ability makes for a very unpredictable attack style. He also has a very large tolerance for pain and discomfort despite his generally selfish nature.

STANDARD EQUIPMENT: Like the majority of the Clan of Thieves, Erzet wields a pair of steel scimitars, fashioned within the confines of the Gerudo Fortress, which he uses with incredible precision and skill, favoring a clean, graceful, and acrobatic attack style. In addition, he also carries a small dagger for emergency use. His supplies also include several common but useful tools used by thieves, such as a slender but sturdy coil of rope and several lockpicks, all of which are stored within easy access in Casban's packbags.

MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION: As a present from his adoptive mother, Nadere, Erzet received a Gerudo horse at the age of sixteen, bred for the harsh terrain of the desert and possessing the incredible resilience for which they are famed. He quickly named the horse Casban, and is quite fond of him, being an able rider.

PERSONALITY: Usually cool-headed and confident, although he conceals a fiery temper that often flares up when things don't go his way. He tends to be slightly mysterious and conceal things from others, if unintentionally. Rather selfish and stubborn, but honest. He has a rather low tolerance for foolishness or naïveté in others. Erzet often speaks using strange references to his adoptive home, the Gerudo Desert. For a thief, he is generally well-meaning and tries to avoid killing unless absolutely necessary, but he's not very trustworthy to outsiders, since he always tends to place the interests of his Clan first. He also has a slight fascination with rubies and other red-colored gems.
BIOGRAPHY: Originally of noble Hylian birth from one of the Royal Family's lower ranking houses, Erzet was extremely young when the entourage consisting of his parents and several armed guards was waylaid on a journey by a wandering pack of Moldorm bordering the haunted and barren Gerudo Wastes. Although the guards and Erzet's father fought bravely, they were unable to deal with the fierce attacks of these creatures in their natural element. One by one, the men were slain, while Erzet's mother clasped her son to her arms and stumbled blindly away into the desert, where the Moldorms soon followed. While her attempts to protect her son were brave, she was unarmed and died quickly. At that moment, a patrolling Gerudo of high rank, named Nadere, spotted the child and managed to repel the Moldorm pack single-handedly.

Although raising children of foreign descent was generally frowned upon among the Clan of Thieves—especially if they were male—Nadere was able to convince her superiors that the child was no threat. Naming him Erzet, meaning "desert wind", Nadere raised and trained the boy as another member of the Clan of Thieves, where he quickly forgot any remnants of his past life and family. The only reminders were the lighter tone of skin and brown hair he possessed, but these were largely disregarded.

Since she was unable to bear children after a severe miscarriage years before, Nadere soon adopted Erzet after he proved himself a promising and resourceful individual, fully initiating him into Gerudo life despite his outlander origins. Due to Nadere's high ranking among the Gerudo and his own talent as a thief, Erzet soon gained the name "Prince of Thieves" among his people. At the age of sixteen, like all Gerudo Thieves, Erzet began to venture past the borders of the Wastes in search for treasure to steal with great success. He is also one of the few Gerudo who can cross the Haunted Wasteland without injury—for this reason, he possesses a strong affinity for the ruins of the Spirit Temple, dedicated to the patron deity of the Gerudo, the Goddess of the Sand.

Aqua, this is precisely why I am against allowing new races to be created for the RP—it gets out of hand very quickly and can cause problems. There are plenty of races to choose from. Perhaps you could make her a Sheikah, maybe? And I looked at your application, her ice powers are still far too vague—all she can do is use it as armor?

Chaos, I saw your PM and I'm awaiting your final draft, although for some reason, I predict we'll have to argue about Raven again due to his seeds and accessories. Le sigh. Anyways, once you're done, just edit the original character post you made, and I'll refer to it.

Yes, of course, I noticed. However, it'd be much easier to just take a look at it and reply collectively in one sitting, I think.

Updated the character list, guys. We now officially have six accepted participants! It'd be nice if we got some more characters allied to the darkness, but this is not necessary.

Saiba Aisu. it is finished. You will see that the spoiler now says Finalized and Cleared for Viewing. just let me know if there is anything still troubling you. also, i regrouped the Seeds of Mystery effects so that they make a little more sense and got rid of some of the effects like you wanted. i kept the armadillo cloak, but i did remove the goron effect, as requested. i look forward to hearing your thoughts on the update.

Okay, Chaos. I appreciate the effort you made in trying to change Raven, but he still needs some work.
I don't understand why you're making this so difficult for yourself, but I will repeat it to you one last time: the only abilities I am accepting from the seeds are the ability to catch enemies on fire, freeze them, or temporarily stun them when thrown with flashes of light. Since the seeds are quite unconventional weapons, this makes them quite useful weapons or tools, so the above effects work fine for balance. You can keep the smell effect if you like, but don't expect it to be very useful, since many of the enemies you'll be encountering will be immune to smells. Now, I repeat - the Pegasus effect, the abilities to conjure gales, gather information from Gossip Stones, issue fire/ice from the mouth, and crush them underfoot for waves of fire/ice will prevent your character from being accepted, so please remove them. Some of these abilities may be added later, but for the time being, they are simply too powerful starting off.

As to this "Maku" Tree of yours, I already told you that Labrynna, the area where it exists, is not applicable in this RP. So, if you please, change it to the Deku Tree or Kokiri who supply him with the seeds. On second thought, I do not mind him carrying three swords, although they seem like they would restrict his movement, provided that you remove the beam-conjuring ability. It's a powerful enough weapon if you make it more effective than normal against dark creatures, and that is my final say on the matter.

I told you to remove the boomerang and arrows, since it's simply too much equipment for one person to carry and use reliably, especially if he's carrying three swords. Furthermore, Knights aren't trained to use boomerangs, anyways. Finally, I clearly told you that I did not approve the Armadillo Cloak - you already have a cloak that partially conceals the wearer; you have no need for an iron cloak of defense. I do appreciate the extended biography and the effort made to help solidify the 'Dark Hylian Tribe' for Aqua, but it all really depends on how good of a job she does convincing me. Also, you do not specify what else the ocarina can be used for, except summoning Raiza.

You have now officially applied twice; please make the changes listed above. If you do not and your application is rejected for a third time, you will have to wait for exactly one business week (five days) before applying again. Thanks again for your cooperation.

It was tough, but I think I made an interesting weapon for him. The toughest was creating something useful while not causing him to impale himself while rolling around. It may seem a little complicated, but I figure the Gorons of this world would be able to create something like that. Edited my post.
