MysticWater
Hello everyone! I am MysticWater, here today to explain the Yu-Gi-Oh Card Maker and all of the different ways to edit your card. Hopefully, a lot of New Members will find this helpful. We'll start from the top of the Card Maker and work our way down. Sorry for this long tutorial; I am trying the best I can to explain the necessities. UPDATES (dd.mm)20.01 - Thread Created NOTEThis will have things added on to it in the near future.Features 1.) Card Sets and Card Names2.) Name Feature3.) Card Type Feature- 3.a) Card Color Type- 3.b) Card Effect Type4.) Attribute Feature5.) Level Feature6.) Trap/Magic Type Feature7.) Card Rarity Feature8.) Picture URL Feature9.) Circulation Feature10.) Set ID Feature- 10.a) Saving to a Set11.) Monster Type Feature12.) Description Feature13.) ATK/DEF Feature14.) Creator Feature15.) Year Feature16.) Serial Number Feature17.) Generate/Save Feature1.) Card Sets and Card Names At the top of the card maker within the blue box, you will see 4 different functions of the card maker. From left to right:Set List - All the cards saved under that specific list. (Default list is "Unsorted")Delete - The delete button. Any card that is currently listed in the Card List will be the card deleted. Once a card is trashed, you cannot recover it.Open - The card selected in the Card List will be opened and generated.Card List - Displays the list of cards for that set. (Will explain more later)2.) Name Feature The name feature is the type-in box that allows you to make a name for your card. The longer the name, the skinnier the text will be inside the Name Box on your card. Not all characters work. Basics work and some special characters, but most will not appear.3.) Card Type Feature The card type feature allows you to select what type of card you are going to make, whether it be a Spell Card, Trap Card, Fusion Monster Card, etc. You will also have the choice as to what kind of effect this monster is will have including, Gemini, Spirit, and others.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------3.a) Card Color Type There are a total of 6 different types of cards you can make. Monster Cards, Ritual Monster Cards, Fusion Monster Cards, Spell Cards, Trap Cards, and Synchro Monster Cards. Please note that some of these cards have specific OCG requirements.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------3.b) Card Effect Type There are 8 different kinds of effects a card can have. Normal Monsters, Effect Monsters, Divine Monsters, Gemini Monsters, Spirit Monsters, Toon Monsters, Tuner Monsters, and Union Monsters. Please note that most of these cards also have specific OCG requirements.4.) Attribute Feature The Attribute Feature allows you to select which Attribute that will appear in the upper right-hand corner of your card. There are DARK, LIGHT, EARTH, FIRE, WATER, WIND, and DIVINE Attributes to select from.5.) Level Feature The Level of your card can determine a lot about it. Select the Level of your card (1-12) and build around this number. Balance is key.6.) Trap / Magic Type Feature • This only applies if you have selected "Trap" or "Spell" as your Card Type.As you may know, there are many different types of Spells and Traps. This feature allows you to choose one. Normal (None), Equip, Continuous, Counter, Quick-Play, Field, and Ritual. The Card Maker allows you to make cards like Counter Spells and Field Traps, which don't exist in the TCG. I recommend not making such cards.7.) Card Rarity Feature The Card Rarity is determined by how rare it is in a pack, or just how hard it is to find one. In the Card Maker, all it does is change the color of the text.Common - BlackRare - Bright GreySuper Rare - WhiteUltra Rare - GoldSecret Rare - Bright GreyUltimate Rare - Gold8.) Picture URL Feature There are 2 ways to add a picture to your card. Both are equally effective, but one is a bit quicker.1.) Save the image to your computer somewhere. Click on the "Upload" button on the card maker, select the image file, and upload it into this space.2.) Right Click on the image, select Properties, and copy the IMG URL that is displayed. Paste that into the Card Maker's Image URL bar and generate.2.) (For Macs) Right click on the card. Click on "Copy Image Address". Go to the Card Maker Image URL bar, paste, and generate.9.) Circulation Feature This is probably the most useless feature of the card maker. The original TCG cards had "1st Edition" on them, which creating our new cards are not. There were also "Limited Edition" circulations, which our cards aren't either. It is best to just leave this blank, seeing how most people won't notice anyway.10.) Set ID Feature The Set ID is the name of that set of cards and the number of the card within that set. The Set ID is usually 2-3 capital characters long. The number of the card varies. I use "EN001" to determine the number. Those characters that are underlined should change between cards.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------10.a) Saving to a Set You will notice a check box at the end of this section on the Card Maker named "Save to Set". If you wish to create another set list full of cards to make a set, check this box. Any cards you want to be in this set need to have the same first-half of the Set ID. Numbers will not matter.11.) Monster Type Feature There are an enormous amount of Types for your monster cards. (A list will be added later). This is a fill-in-yourself box so be sure to do it correctly. Although there are no rules for making your own Types, my advice to you is refrain from doing do. Any card you make is sure to fit one of the original types.FAQ: "Is Psychic a real Type?"Yes, Psychic is a real Type.12.) Description FeaturePlease note that depending on the type of card you are making, you may have a specific OCG requirement for your card to look real.Fusions and Synchroes should have there materials listed.Effect monsters should not have a description, they should have an effect.Normal monsters should not have an effect, they should have a description.13.) ATK/DEF Feature The ATK (Attack) and the DEF (Defense) of a card are also known as its stats. These stats should be determined last, after you have an effect and a level for the card. 9999, XXXX, 0000, and ???? are unrealistic, and in fact not real. For unknown ATK or DEF, use '?'.14.) Creator Feature Here, you simply post whatever name you want. The name on it will appear on the card, and copyrighted to that name.15.) Year Feature This determines when the card was made. By default, it is whichever year we are currently in "i.e. 2010".16.) Serial Number Feature Every card in the world has a different Serial Number. This is a semi-important thing to the Card. Hit 'randomize' to generate a fake Serial Number.17.) Generate/Save Feature The generate button is what you click on to transfer all the information you have provided into the card itself. The save feature obviously allows you to save the currently-generated card. If you have not check "Save to Set", it will be placed in the 'Unsorted' Set list by default. Hope you guys may have learned something new! As I said before, more things will be added on later. Reps Appreciated Link to comment
