Josep laughed a little in his head. "dammit masquerade, you really know how to mess with someone's head....she actually thinks your a Dragon...."[/i" but as he stood there he felt he had no choice but to at least take Panik down. "all righty...." he rushes towards Panik with his swords in hand unaware of the attack fro behind, but while a slight electric current going through his Blades.

The Knight then jumped back quickly and launched a counter attack, he took in a deep breath and then swung the rapier as hard as he could. As the masked soldier did this a flame appeared following the swipe of his blade. He then watched as the flames rushed over to the female dragon, Ryden then fell to one knee as the attack continued, he then began panting for air as he reached his limits. Though Ryden was powerful and skilled he was still only human, a human with the power to fight against dragons but appearently not for very long. He then forced himself back to his stance and sighed as he still panted. Masquerade had no time to rest he could not let his guard down at all.

The fires Ryden launched torn through the field, burning the few structures that still stood. They collided with Daena's forward blast, which slowed them down a bit, but in exchange revealed her location to Ryden, now that the area isn't so filled with light. She had to fire off her blast, which was off target, since Ryden lept back before attacking. The light flew past the warrior to his left, flying off into the distance harmlessly.

 

Why is he so tired... wait, he's *not* a Dragon? Daena quickly drew her flamegun once she realized this. Flipping a switch on the weapon, she raised the gun upward, aiming above her opponent before firing. She let fly six small fireballs the size of her head, which arced through the air, falling towards Ryden's position.

Donny sat on the hill side and idly watched the battle unfold below him.

Aren't you going to help? Dan asked.

'Nope. They're doing ok. Plus, I want to relax abit. Do you know how much damage I did?' he sighed happily. behind him, bodies and body peices lay scattered on the hillside, human and dragon alike. 'Besides, I don't know where I would jump in.'

Josep is going to chew us out later Dan sighed. So will the boss. Donny laughed.

'Who knows, they might just die in htis battle!' Dan sighed but didn't comment. He to settled in to watch the combatants face off.

Masquerade looked up into the air and smiled softly as he noticed the attack coming at him was normal flames. He then jumped up towards the attack and grapped all six scraps of inferno. As soon as they touched his hand, Ryden made it look like he just smashed the attack but in reality the knight absorbed the flame aura and was going to use it as his own so that he could keep Daena thinking that Marquerade was no normal knight.

Panik raised his right hand and the shadows rose up in responce, catching Josep off guard and blocking him from moving further. 'It would be wise to not recklessly rush at your opponent, but I suppose with all the murder you've been delighting in, you have no room in that tiny head of yours for actual battle strategies' he said mockingly. He leapt backwards and onto the platform holding up the true flamecannon. 'This will be too great a success' he thought.

"What?!" Daena yelled in surprise, opening her eyes to get a good look at her opponent. She could not believe it, the fireballs she shot off were... dissapated, or rather absorbed. They just vanished from her radar, while Ryden took the energy they had. With that, her main form of attack was sealed off.

 

She holstered her flamegun again, and sighed. However, she was just to hold him off until Panik was able to break the failsafe on the flamecannon. With that considered, she was doing rather well. Even so, they were rather close to where Panik and Josep were fighting, and Daena estimated it would take about a minute for Ryden to reach the summit if he ran along the path. For now she merely extended her right arm towards Ryden and closed her eyes again, with a bright light appearing in her palm again. "Come," Daena said, as the light dimmed.

Josep looked at the cannon, His twin Blades reacting to the energy of the shadows in front. "no strategy huh? well, you may be right about my sins, but I don't come without tricks!" He Placed his Blades in their hilts and began charging energy in between his palms. "This won't Block all of it...but it should be enough....." his blades began glowing as well, as if they were preparing for the attack.

Panik siddled along to a point that was subtly marked on the cannon, in case of emergencies. 'Whatever you do will be meaningless, you will be destroyed her in the flames of purgatory, such a shame your brother won't be able to revel in this, but I'm sure he'll understand He thought as he watched the glow.. 'Some form of light-based attack, best not underestimate it, or the blades. He's a tricky one'.

Masquerade then realized that Panik and Josep's auras were growing stronger by the second. He looked towards his opponent and sighed. " Sorry my dear lady but I have no time for you anymore, as knight of the infamous Blood Prince, I Sir Masquerade must protect my people's Prince!" With that the masked knight rushed towards Daena but as soon as he began to move he felt his heart beat quicken and his will increased. The human then jumped up and over the dragon in front of him, he then rushed over to Josep's side. "I will protect the hope of the people." he said to himself as he rushed over to his friend.

"Okay then.....let's hope I learned how to use this damn technique....if not, I'm screwed" he thought as his fangs began growing, he felt ash coming from his mouth, but he repressed it, knowing if he let the Dragon side of him win, the "Blood Prince" would return. "Take This!!!Dragon's Blast!!!" he Fired a large and wide arc of energy blue in color that began going through the shadow's slowly if Panik didn't block with the cannon then he would be hit hard

Panik wathed how the shadows were slowing the take, so he merely walked out of the attacks direction. 'Impressive use of energy, however, this isn't a stop motion moving picture, an attack that slow will never amount to much. And I doubt it would do much tot he cannon, several inches of reinforced steel, to prevent it from blowing up under the stress of the heat' Panik explained fondly of the cannon. It was a neat tool, one that made battles so very more fun.

"Heh......" he kept supplying the attack with energy, the blast not wavering as it kept going stronger. "I'm not one to give up easily......" whether or not it was reinforced steel the Metal would either break down or fall apart under heat. but then he thought, what the hell am I doing? he began lowering his blast, the force beginning to throw him back and with a slight jump the blast shot him far from the shadows and the damn shield or whatever he was using. "Masquerade, let's get the hell out of here!" he yelled

The masked knight looked up at the Blood prince and then nodded. He then ran towards an edge and jumped off. Once the young knight landed on the ground he used the last of his energy to create a large wall of flames the engulfed most of the hillside, with the flames and smoke covering the both of them Ryden and Josep made their escape.

 

Hours later at the Resistance base Ryden and Josep were in a meeting with most of the higher ups of the resistance. Though the knight knew most of the people their he stood by the leader of the group. The man that had told Ryden to become Masquerade, the person that had total confidence in winning the war against the Dragon Kingdom, Nazo. Nazo sat at the head of the table, he also wore a mask only unlike Ryden he never took his off. Nazo is the name of the man who wore the mask, no one knew who he really was but since he is bent on destroying the Dragon Kingdom and bringing freedom to all most of the resistance trust him.

Daena thought of attacking the two human resistance soldiers as they fled, but decided against it; her aim was not that good at their distance, and the masked soldier absorbs flames. That's something to look into, she thought. In the end, all this skirmish did was kill a bunch of Dragons and Humans, with no significant gains on either side. She walked back up to the summit where Panik was waiting.

 

"...I'm heading back to camp." She said, before turning around and fully transforming into her dragon form. "See you there." Her voice was rough, as expected of transformed dragons, but even then, it sounded disappointed. She flew off towards the forward camp, flying over the lesser soldiers, who were busy tending wounds and searching for any survivors in the bloody mess.

 

...All this fighting made her sick.

[The Warden]

Panik look as Daena left, she was a useful soldier, but he was uncertain where her loyalties truly lied. Panik decided it would be best to not return yet, no doubt Shishio would be on the rampage to tear him limb from limb for the little incident with the flamecannon. He did like the weapon, it made things easier in battle, due to the human's combustible nature. 'So the battle was ours, the enemy hath retreated only to try again' he quoted.

Back on the hill far atop of where the battle had happened, Jazeth stood there, smiling, Shishio bowed by his side and awaited to hear about his brother, and the rebel Masquerade. "So...Shishio, how did you enjoy your day off?" he stated with a smirk as he began smelling the bloodshed on the battleground. "now then, I guess I may as well, motivate some of the troops, " He picks up his Oversized sword and begins walking to the camp, observing down below towards the "Flame Cannon" an interesting device.....

 

In the Meeting Josep really didn't know what to say, this wasn't his sort of thing, "So....Lord Nazo, what do you have me here for again." he felt very out of place with the royalty, despite being a prince, he was never one for being all royal and crap.

Nazo looked at the blood prince and then looked towards the rest of the royal rebels, the masked royal then smiled as he tilted his softly into his hands so that he looked as if he were thinking. "It's time..." Nazo the stood up and took hold of what seemed to look like a detination device. He then gave it a twirl before pressing the button. In the distance bombs began to explode, the explosions were coming from the dragon's base of the area. "Today the dragon army has been weakened but also we will need to move fast so that we can run them out."

 

Ryden looked at the masked man and then turned towards the royals. "We need to take action due to the explosions one of two things may happen. One being that the dragon army flees the other being that they come looking for use." The knight then looked at Josep and nodded. "I request that you let me fight your majesty."

"Why do you keep asking me! just go! geez." he wasn't happy with being treated like a prince, he knew he wasn't "princely, but he also knew that at the base...."he" was probably there. "I just really hope I'm wrong..." he stated as he stood up and grabbed his pendant "let's just do this already.....before I get anymore....." he ended his sentence and walked out of the tent, hearing the sounds of those that were willing to fight and those who were already fleeing.

Ryden then nodded and placed the Masquerade mask on once more, he then readied his bow and took off. Nazo looked at the other Royals and smiled as he spoke. "I believe it's time for us to get moving." He then lead the others away from the fight. Masquerade spotted Josep as the horse he was riding came to a stop, the masked Ryden then looked at the blood prince and laughed. "Does it really bother you that much Josep? That I have to be respectful to you and you have to be noble?"

"What do I have to be respected for? why should I act like a Noble...I have the name Blood prince for a reason...." he looked at the mask for a few seconds and then ran towards the battle, if anything, while he feared it, he also hoped that his brother would be there, so he could either defeat him, or finally be killed and rid of this burden once and for all.

 

Upon hearing the Explosions Jazeth sighed."Can't anybody do anything right?" he looked outside his camp only to see the flames falling around him. "this should be fun....it seems they attacked first...."

The masked knight looked on as Josep rushed to battle, he then dismounted his horse and made it run the other way from battle as he released it to the wild. Ryden then thought to himself as he too rushed to the battlefield. The only reason I defend you... the one reason I raise my sword in your favor is not because we are friends.... nor is it because I do admire your will... It is because I made a promise... The mask knight then jumps up into the air and fires away using his bow, killing his targets in one his every shot. .. I promised her.... I promised to protect the hope of the people... for her... Once the masked Knight landed he set aside his bow by placing it on his back and then drew his rapier. "For The people of this world!" Masquerade yelled as he fought off the dragon soldiers that attacked him. For you... my... Love... ... ... ... Jaine...

Daena had returned to the camp, and was in the process of collecting her belongings. She expected to be recalled to a development site, now that the Flame Cannon proved somewhat useful in battle. If only they'd let me continue my research on Soul, this war could end! she thought to herself, but of course, the current monarchy seemed more interested in genocide than peace.

 

Once everything was packed, Daena decided to do a quick scan of the Soul in the area. She secretly hoped that the planet's Soul was depleted quickly when wars occur, making this war counterproductive with its expressed goal, either ending the war, or bringing the true motives to light. The false last bit of her pinky finger detached easily, before transforming to the Kuus Meeli in a veil of mist.

 

She started to scan the area, but it revealed something that surprised her. There was a human outside of her tent, wielding a sword drenched in fresh blood. She took out her flamegun and stepped outside the test, roasting the soldier in a concentrated stream of fire from behind. As the charred corpse dropped to the ground, Kuus Meeli detected that this was just one of the advance soldiers, and that fighting was already underway along the outskirts of the camp.

 

Daena grumbled to herself as she made her way to the battle site. She encountered a few enemy soldiers along the way, who were dispatched easily with her sidearm. The Humans have attacked when the Dragons were at their weakest, while recovering from a fight. The Flame Cannon was too bulky to move easily, and while a few soldiers were sent recently to transport the siege engine, they had no chance of using it without someone to aim the thing. And of course Daena had no one to depend on while she charged her blasts in this situation.

"Take this!" Josep hated attacking his own people, but at the same time, Nazo had proved he would do anything for this war, and that was what they needed in these dire times. He had sliced another in half and looked towards where ever the cannon could be, but while running he felt an eerie aura, it was his.

 

"Ah...Daena, good to see your still alive" Jazeth joked...kind of, he had just dispatched a few resistance members nearby and was looking toward the Aura of his brother. "I see he finally had the gumption to come near me...let's give him a warm welcome. " his wicked smile shown in the darkness.
