I thought the 4-part saga known as Sozin's comet would be the end of it. What will the story be for this movie?

It's live action dude.

Oh' date=' Like Ben 10 Race against Time and Ben 10 Alien Force Alien Swarm. I wonder what actors will play who?

[/quote']

Complete unknown Noah Ringer will play Aang. Nicola something-or-other, the really pale girl will play Katara.

Jackson (Jason? Something) Ratheborn (of Twilight) will play "Soak-kah", as he pronounces it.

Dev Patel (Slumdog) will play Zuko.

That guy who played the terrorist in Ironman is to play Iroh, I believe.

So that means that Zuko and Iroh will be the only redeeming things in this movie. Possibly.

Except that now Iroh is a skinny Iranian/Indian (not exactly sure?) man instead of a big jolly asian guy. And Dev's ears are huge.

...Nah, Dev can probably pull of the role, although he'll still look goofy.

Iroh....Iroh I'm not sure I can accept.

BUT HEY, IF RATHEBORN CAN GET A TAN AND PLAY AN INUIT, WHY CAN'T IROH BE A SKINNY IRANIAN?

Assuming the film attempts to do the series justice' date=' the movie will end when they're at the North Pole. [s']And meet Santa Clause![/s]

The lack of dedication to even attempt to keep it near the source makes me doubt they'll do it "justice".

Would it really have been so difficult to keep the Chinese calligraphy? Or the specialized martial arts?

I mean, the average movie goer probably won't be able to tell the difference between calligraphy and gibberish, or one martial arts to another...but it hurts me to see the authenticity that made this show so great be torn down systematically for seemingly no reason at all.

[spoiler=Not that' date= this.]

Besides its source material-related challenges, The Last Airbender is debuting on one of the busiest weekends of the year, with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Knight & Day also opening.

They would be completely idiotic not to push the release date back. In fact, because they're pushing the full trailer release back, it is assumed they'll be doing the same for the movie.

Although, with all the bungling these people have done to the movie already, I wouldn't be surprised if their incompetence extended to the release date.

This movie will be everything but fail.

I f***ing hope so.

I don't know how it will turn out. It could be awesome' date=' it could be an epic failure but we just don't know. I hope it won't be a crappy movie. *Crosses Fingers* PLZ DON'T LET IT BE A PHAIL

Let's look at Shamalyan's track record: Sixth Sense: Good. The Village: Good. Signs: ...debatable, but I hear it was good. Lady in the Water: WTF? The Happening: .....Wut? No seriously? What? Are you kidding me?

Yeah, just by director choice alone, I'm not getting my hopes high. You add in all the other crap that's been happening around set (shady actor choices, throwing out the original martial arts developed for the show, removing chinese caligraphy.....)

This will probably be another instance of "What? The Last Airbender? No, that movie never existed. I suggest you watch the show instead"
