Guest Tainted Black
"Hmm... We are setting up pretty well... but Supplies are running low." The druid said as he thumbed a tome in his hands, that he pulled off a dusty old shelf. "What we do have enough of are weapons. There is a healthy supply here. An old library, and an unused armory. Almost like it was set like this." He chuckled as he walked to a wall and put the dusty old tome back. He then walked back to his spot. The army was growing, but still too small to take out more than a battalion at this point.
fenrir
Oh god did Fen hate thunder spells and arrows. Maximilian ducked the incoming onslaught of arrows and bolts, the great wyvern was desperately trying to find cover for both himself and his master. It was Fen's mistake that his small group of wyvern knights should go and find a village to stay in. They should of just stayed in that cramped forest from before. At least they could of seen the village get captured, and at least then they could of fled. But no. They just had to go out and check out the village. And they just had to get pounded on by thunder mages and pesky archers. His small group was now only down to five wyvern riders, including himself. Before it was nine. Those blasted mages were going to pay. As Fen continued to ponder to himself, the rain of arrows stopped. Did they escape? ((I have no idea exactly where I should be, but since Fen was in a patrol during the whole thing, I'm going to presume that he knows nothing of the resistance.)) Final Fantasy Revolution
Baleaze Goelman coughed to get Luke's attention, his eyes looked out slightly above his sunglasses and into Luke's own eyes. "The spread of you army is doing well, we have been making way on all portions of this country willing to let us. However, there are some regions that have claimed neutrality and remain that way till this day." Baleaze took a brief pause as he looked around inside the room to make sure everyone was paying attention. "What are your thought about trying to persuade them to join our side?" Baleaze asked Luke and all the other members of the army in the room...
encapturer
((Tell me if any of this is bad, and I'll edit. Just trying to fill in details related to Merin's situation.)) Merin was gathered with the others, fumbling through a magic tome that she was given a week ago. While she was a good healer, and was a apparently a godsend for the fledgling army when she joined, they expressed their concern for her being unable to defend herself. She was good at running away and getting to safety, and at keeping those protecting her healthy. She closed the tome and put it into a shoulderbag she had slung over her shoulder and neck. After Josh explained the situation about the supplies, she decided to speak her part. For some reason she was selected to be the representative for the healers in the army. Might be because of the status of the group that trained me, she thought to herself then. Regardless, she would do what was expected of her to make sure the senseless persecution of Laguz is ended. "Everyone is nice and healthy, for a change." Ever since she joined, it has been one problem after the next. Broken bones, random sickness, and battle wounds made up her average day in this small army. "We may need to stock up on some new staves, though." The healing staff on her back was a bit worn, since while the healers try to save their magic for battles, some things require immediate attention. Merin estimated that her staff could be used for a few minutes, tops, before it stops being useful for healing people.
Andx
"Sounds good overall. We can restock on supplies tomorrow morning after everything here is settled. As for the increase of the army, we should try our best to persuade whoever we can to join. But we need to be careful who we tell as well. The last thing we want is some would-be recruit to refuse the offer and then turn us in to Althalos's men. And it is nice to know everyone's in good condition, though staves seem required. Well, we're faring better than I could've hoped at this point." Luke said. He then thought of Nadine and figured he should make the announcement before anyone raised a question about her. "Just a bit of news for everyone. You may have noticed Nadine isn't with us this morning. She won't be with us for a good bit of time. Kindly don't ask for details, just know that she'll be rejoining us before too long." Luke said. In town a townsman walked into the headquarters of the local batch of Althalos's men. The leader was sitting at a desk with his face in his hands. Something was on his mind. The man stepped up sheepishly."What is it?!" the leader barked."I just thought I should let you know that I saw some strange people gathering on top of a nearby hill castle. They seemed to have weapons, like they were an army." the man said."Very well, we'll have to look into it soon. Now leave me!" he said. The man hurried out of the room."As if I didn't have enough to worry about already. I already have most of my men looking for that blasted assassin that defected recently. Now I have to check on a potential rebellion. What a fun day." he thought.
Guest Tainted Black
Jesse was watching from around a house in an alley. He thought. . Jesse ran across the back alleys, headed towards the hill castle. He had to get there without being seen, both to warn them and maybe join them. He fidgeted with his Stiletto as he ran. Josh listened to Luke, and then added his two cents. "Well, I think we might need to recruit a local or two. We need a thief and soon. With a thief or rogue we could get more money, weapons, and food without having to worry about donations from villagers. The villagers might also be more willing to join us." He pulled out a tome and thumbed through it as the input sank in.
Final Fantasy Revolution
Baleaze smiled evilly and darkly at Luke and it wasn't hard to tell that he wanted to be the one to investigate this strange new castle. "Sir, if it pleases you I'd like to be the one that investigates this castle. And uncover the vast secrets that it holds...by any means necessary of course." Baleaze wanted a battle, he wanted to take on this castled army headstrong but at least Baleaze knew he would need to do his research before making any kind of attacks on the castle. encapturer
Merin nodded as she thought about what Luke said. Nadine must be on some secret mission. The fact that its brought up preemptively must mean... Merin sighed and turned her thoughts to the medical supplies the army is taking with them. She'll have the time to think about the hidden meanings of things later, after all. She was brought out of *that* train of thought by Baleaze, one of Luke's retainers. Put simply, she did not like him; he seemed like the type who saw war as a goal rather than the means to an end, which disgusted her. That said, she knew that he was probably right about gathering intelligence about their target. And he has apparently been loyal so far, so... Merin turned back to Luke, waiting for a response. Her job was just to look after the injured and support the frontline troops, meaning she really didn't have any right to speak her mind about this situation. After all, she pretty much agrees with Baleaze. She just hoped that this meeting would end soon, so she can focus her attention to other matters. Andx
"Right, we should get to recruiting quickly. And while I appreciate your ever present enthusiasm Baleaze I don't feel it's wise to do anything that could result in a fight today. The men need some time to settle. Well I'm not going to draw this out anymore. The meeting's over for today. Be ready to potentially go into town later." Luke said. With that he withdrew from the room. He went outside the castle and sort of surveyed the land around. He couldn't see troops around the town but there seemed to be some sort of activity. The local commander sighed as he took his place in front of a small group of men."Alright. As you may or may not know, someone has reported strange activity on a nearby hill. We already have men looking for that blasted thief and also men fighting that remnant of a wyvern knight unit so you are all I can afford on this matter. Let's make this quick and get back to that search." he said. With that his small group of about thirty soldiers mostly consisting of cavaliers and mages headed on their way out. Before too much longer they would approach the hill.
encapturer
"Thanks for the medicine." A soldier was handed a small bag with various herbal medicines. He was in a tent near the center of camp, where the healers took care of the sick and injured. It was mostly empty today, save for a few sick soldiers. "Be careful out there." Merin replied, managing a smile. She was already working once she returned from the meeting. She walked over to a table where her notes were scrawled all over. She glanced over them, though found nothing that needed immediate attention. After one more look, she sat down on the rug on the floor, and fell backwards, laying face-up. "Finally, some rest..." Guest Tainted Black
Jesse grinned as he had snuck up on the prince, and sat against the wall behind him, as he surveyed the land. "So," He began "What's a Prince doing without guards?" He grew solemn. "I could slit your throat right here, princey." He drew his knives, putting up a ruse. "And I could throw this through your neck before you made a sound. Should I?" He Glared at Luke. This act was important. Josh sifted through the tomes, and eventually found one for him. A Fenrir tome, lightly used. It was in quite good condition, considering the age of the tome. He continued his research of the books, after he pocketed the Fenrir tome. Hopefully there were more to be found. Then he heard some noise from outside where Luke was, and started that way.
Andx
"True you could. But then you'd have wasted your time coming here. If you really wanted to kill me you would have done so instead of talking to me. The fact you know I'm a prince is interesting as well." Luke said as he turned around to face this stranger. Perhaps he had looked a bit too far into what the man had said but Luke was decently sure he'd hit the nail on the head."So then the better question in this situation is what is it you'd like to say to me?" Luke asked. This was certainly an interesting turn of events. A stranger had come looking for him, knew he was a prince, and threatened Luke that he could kill him. Obviously this man had something important to say.
Guest Tainted Black
"Heh, smart boy. I like that. Here's what I want- 50,000. 50,000 gold for info, stealth, thievery, and other services." He stared the boy down. "So, whaddya say, princey? You gonna pay me? Or am I gonna kill you?" He kept his gaze unwaivering, but the nis right wrist flicked. He threw a blade at the doorway. "Come on out." He said to Josh. Josh cursed under his breath and walked out. "50,000?! Preposterous!" He said, Fenrir ready. Then again, he figured this thief knew that. "Now, I suppose you are running from the army down there no?" Jesse didn't flinch. "I'll take that as a yes. how does 15,000 sound?"
Final Fantasy Revolution
"The prince is never unprotected..." Baleaze said, having his long sword around the new man's neck now. Baleaze had saw the man from the meeting room and snook out a window so he could achieve this upper-hand. "We just lurk in the background until he actually needs assistance." Baleaze explained and then looked over to the prince as if expecting something from him. "What shall I do with him Luke." Baleaze asked and then drew the blade closer to the man's neck so it was touching.
